Kijani nearly felt her legs give out as they finally, finally reached the deck of the Millennium Falcon. "We... we encountered a monster. Darth Vader." She had been too afraid to think straight before, but all of the reports from the rebels matched that man's description. It made complete sense. The only thing that didn't match was their survival. "Obi Wan saved us both." She felt tears welling up, but she pushed them away. She slumped near Adam, eyes shut.

"...We should go, Captain." Let it be her to make the hard choice. Sure, it was possible for Obi Wan to survive his encounter. Theoretically, he could be on his way. But they had to survive. The Rebellion had to. "Let's fly."

Sacrifice one for a thousand.

If anyone wanted to switch places with Kijani, she would have liked it to be for these moments.

Jinny’s simple days turned into weeks. Those weeks rapidly turned into months.

Jinny’s training continued, though at a much more careful pace considering her first incident. Accuracy practice, telekinetic practice, acrobatics, memorization. She was learning to swim, and had several books on various languages to learn from. Japanese was first, since she already had some foundation in that thanks to her parents. Spanish, French, even some very simple Chinese. She absorbed knowledge like a sponge. Her natural talents began to shine – she had an unusually high level of competency with numbers, and she liked to take things apart.

She also started school, which was an adjustment. Initially, she definitely did not want to go. It was much more fun at home. Slade usually left her to her own devices, with books and toys and all sorts of entertaining things. School, by comparison, was boring. 1 + 1 was boring. She knew more than that. Handwriting was too hard – her letters came out strange and she didn’t like that at all. The only thing she liked was recess, as any child might. Some days were better than others.

Today was not one of those days.

The school bus dropped Jinny off in front of the house, and she came in pouting, nearly in tears. She sought out her Uncle, sat at his feet and promptly began to cry.

“I hate school, Uncle Slade! It’s boring and I have to sit a lot, and all of the other kids are babies, and the only one with powers ‘sides me is a BOY! And he’s mean! I don’t want to go anymore!”

She sniffled and rubbed at her nose with her sleeve. “Can’t I just stay here with you forever?”
Hooray, evil boarding school! I should have a post for you this weekend.
Awesome! Should I roll it forward then? A few days or weeks?
I do want a time skip, but I also want Jinny to meet some other villains too. Perhaps not at 5 unless they're good with super kiddos.
As Adam was lifted off of the ground, Kijani could do nothing but watch in horror. Adam had put up a good fight, but she could see that there was no chance of winning. This man seemed to be amused, if nothing else, toying with Adam for reasons she didn't know. Kijani herself was utterly exhausted. It seemed her little display of Force had done nothing but to make her tired. Her head was spinning.

"No! Please don't kill him!" All she could do was uselessly plead, leaning against the wall. She knew that she was next, and could do absolutely nothing to defend herself. "Please!" Tears were blurring her vision now, as she watched Adam's face go redder and then slip into a disturbing looking purple.

And then, like a miracle, Obi-wan showed up. "Obi-wan!" It seemed like a great battle was about to take place. As Adam was dropped like a pile of trash, she rushed to his side to try to get him on his feet. "Adam, please, get up if you can. We have to get out of here."
Over the next few weeks, Devika kept working on her blog and her bubble. She was getting stronger by the day. Part of her was still trying to get Roxy to open up, but it was hard. Maybe impossible. Maybe Roxy just didn't want to be friends at all. It would make sense. Devika was just an interruption dropped into her seemingly solitary life. Maybe she was wasting her time attempting to get to know the other woman.

After many emails back and forth and much friendly argument, Devika finally set up a time to visit her parents. She came downstairs in the morning, all smiles and humming to herself. She missed her parents dearly and was so happy to just think about seeing them again. Sure, they'd had a weekly video chat, but that was nothing compared to the real thing. To think she'd be able to hug her mother and father again.

Devika poked her head into the shop, Roxy already hard at work as usual. "Good morning Roxy!"
I would love to see a post from you.

If you need to drop this, I will be disappointed but I understand. I just really enjoy it, that's all. It's hard for me to find good writing partners.
