Shu did wonder if he explained it right, he knew Yumi had an easier time than Takeshi or the others for sure especially when he was panicked. It was easy to get panicked when your words didn’t quite get through to the other person, something that often happened in high tension situations. Nodding quickly when Yumi made an attempt to understand what he was saying he smiled, bouncing on his spot before sitting down with his legs sprawled. More loose! Yes! Loose!” She could probably do it properly if it wasn’t for the fact she was probably hurting about now, but then again it wasn’t as if she was weak skinned or anything. His skin on his hands and feet were strong and durable, stronger than hers most likely, but she still had all that training from fighting so surely grabbing branches and what not was nothing compared to other things she could had done.

Standing up quickly again he watched her from his spot, tilting his head to see if she might be able to get it this time. He didn’t like the sound of ‘blisters’, but he did hope she wasn’t going to get them too badly after this. He would feel bad if she got something from all of this, especially if it was going to be sore. “Ooh! No, blisters bad!” No wanna that!” he spoke quickly, bouncing back up in to the trees. Maybe they shouldn’t do this for too much longer, it would be nice to take a break and have some food after all. Lots of swinging made him hungry and Yumi was probably not having a terribly good time after falling on the branch so hard.

Once Yumi was back up be watched her carefully, tilting his head as he waited to see what she might do. Once she was off again he bounced after her, almost anticipating when she might fall but instead she managed a whole host of branches, or at least enough for him to call a lot for her. Getting all excited he chased after her, only to watch her fall to a lower branch instead. Stopping quickly on the branch she would’ve landed on he turned himself around and looked at her with a curious gaze, tilting his head. He didn’t know if she was okay or not at first, but when she giggled he let out a sigh, sitting down on the branch. “No die! Far from dragon balls!” he squeaked, bouncing a little. “Swing fun! Yeah! Maybe soon more branches! Swing all day! It hurt for you, though! That bad…maybe…food time? Food time! Treats after swinging! Yes maybe?”
Shu was certainly enjoying himself but he wasn’t going to let Yumi have a hard time with it just because he had trouble explaining himself. He wanted to try and explain it right, but it was hard when it was something he did through normal circumstances throughout his entire life. Maybe Yumi would be fine, she was a fast learner; then again, he never really saw her learn anything other than Ki. She was faster at learning Ki than he was, that made her a fast learner in his eyes. Wondering if she might be able to pull it off he quickly nodded when she asked him for reassurance, deciding to watch her to see how she did. She would probably get the hang of it eventually, but he didn’t want her not enjoying it at the same time. He hoped she wasn’t getting frustrated, at least.

Watching her as he continued to sip at his juice he waited for her to get ready, staring at her and watching her movements. She was kind of stiff and seemed to be forgetting to loosen up, even though she seemed to be in fairly good spirits. Closing up his juice he slowly leaned forward, watching her carefully before she swung away. Bouncing so that his feet were on the branch he watched her make an attempt to catch the branch, squeaking when she instead sat on it after having a fair swing. That wasn’t how you caught the branch, she probably didn’t even need to use her legs either and could’ve used her hands. Making a quick bounce he landed on a branch up above, staring down at her.

“Ooh! Use hands maybe when like that! That look like it hurt!” he squeaked, moving around on the branch before he bounced down to the ground, “Try no land on butt next time!” He didn’t really know what she had been trying but she was close, just using her butt as a landing was a bit of a strange move. Having a quick sip of his juice again he began to climb the tree again, giving her a staring at for a moment. “Mmmmm, less swing power! Be more…umm…wiggly? Less stony…?” he spoke, trying to find the words for what he was meaning as he climbed up to a branch, “Less like tough! More like wiggle! Like tail! Wiggly tail is not like a rock! You see? Maybe…?” If she moved a lot more loosely she’d have more control over her swings by a long shot, but it did take time to get over the worry that you’ll simply crash to the ground. He was patient and didn’t expect her to get it immediately, but he did wonder if she had enough already. “Umm, Miss Yumi no hurting, yes? Can be sore on hands! Sore on feet, sore on butt! It can hurt like oof ouch! You okay or maybe we do something else…?”
What's going on is they should be heading to the town now and will be approaching it in the next step. Already discussed that that'll be the case, just things got busy at the weekend as usual.
Whatever you like, what's important is to not have huge story beats go on, like two people post twice in a row and suddenly they're at another location kind of thing.
I can go, I think there's just some minor post order confusion going on or something since there wasn't really one before.
Shu was fair excited to be able to get out and about without any real stress like having to worry about training or being beaten to try and do something he didn’t want to do. It was about time that he was let out to go and do what he wanted rather than having to work, especially with Yumi. Yumi didn’t ask him to do things that scared him or caused him pain, so it was always nice to know when he was going out with Yumi it was going to be a pretty relaxing time. Being out and about meant he could have some fun, which meant doing whatever he wanted which mostly consisted of swinging around in the trees and stretching his limbs. He didn’t get to go out and be himself too often, everyone preferred to be on the ground and doing whatever they wanted to do, but it seemed Yumi was more than willing to try and do what he did to have fun.

He did enjoy swinging around. It helped his balance and exercise, not to mention it helped strengthen his arms when he felt he hardly used them anymore other than fighting. Walking around on only his feet was all fine, but it felt like his arms were missing out. He could have a balance rather than simply upright and only using his arms for throwing punches or lifting things. He was having plenty of fun, but it didn’t appear that Yumi was having quite as much fun as he was. “Ooh! It easy when you know how do!” he squeaked, swinging around happily in one place, “Need to reach more! Reach and swing and fun!”

He was definitely having a fair bit of fun, at least. Even if they hadn’t really moved he didn’t need to travel far to do what he wanted to do. It was no race through the trees like Takeshi might make it out to be. Pulling himself up on to the branch he was hanging from he sat quite happily, kicking his feet out a little bit as Yumi joined him. He did wonder if she was enjoying her time swinging around, she seemed to be but he could never be sure. He wasn’t great at reading people’s voices over watching how they acted and moved, especially their expressions.

Staring up at Yumi he smiled happily, squeaking a little when he was given a juice. Watching how Yumi opened hers he slowly opened his in the same way, having a little drink from it. “…Ooh? Fly like floating on river? That dangerous…” he spoke, trying to imagine the similarity but he didn’t swim. Staring down at his juice for a moment before looking back to Yumi, staring at her as she decided to have a little swing at the same time. “You like? Ooh! Tips? Tips…” he spoke, trying to think of something that Yumi might be able to do. She didn’t have a tail so talking about that that wasn’t going to help. “…You…like umm…you swing with legs! Arms just there to hold, but legs make big swings when you swing legs! If legs go near branch instead of arms, grab with legs! No need for tail…maybe…oooohhh…maybe…?”
@shylarahI definitely wasn't inspired for sure, earliest I knew of Made in Abyss is when it became an anime and people said it was good lol
@shylarahIf it helps, Cecil is from an old concept from like 2004 I reworked so them both having the same vibe is interestingly coincidental, although Cecil has nothing "down there" like Reg does thankfully.
It was certainly awkward to run in to someone all the way out here, he didn’t expect such a thing to be standing in his way. A tree or maybe a rock, but a person was just a strange find. Staring at the man he was hoping nothing suspicious was coming out of it, but it did appear he hurt him by colliding in to him. From the sounds of it, he suspected nothing; however, Cecil had every reason to remain cautious. He had just ran from a bunch of people who caught him out rather quickly, so it wasn’t as if Machina were rare enough for others to not know what they were or how they could spot one like him. Giving him a nervous smile, he backed off a little bit more as to not touch him again in such a short time if he was to fall over suddenly again.

“Huh? You are? Wha, ‘we’?” He didn’t realise he was with someone, or others at least. He didn’t know the size of the group but did hope it wasn’t anybody who might look like a guard or something. Guards had been an issue before, mostly with them thinking he’s sneaking something in somewhere in his gauntlets, whatever that something may be. Maybe people with metal on them were deemed more suspicious than others, but he couldn’t care about that right now. Feeling a little nervous, he didn’t know whether he should simply run away from this man or stick around briefly to see who the group were. They were all heading to the town too so that was handy enough, he would be safer in a group instead of by himself.

Not really understanding the situation he gasped when he caught eye of the group in question, feeling fairly nervous now. There was animals too, he didn’t like that. Keeping a fair bit behind the man he frowned, looking off in the direction of town briefly. So there was a chance that he would be safe with this group and they were all going to the town too so he could always look like he was friends with them and not get bothered by guards for looking ‘too rich’ to be around, whatever that meant. Whatever it was, it sounded like a bad thing when it attracted men with weapons. He wouldn’t have to think long to make a decision, he was fairly certain it would be best hiding with this group even if they didn’t welcome him.

Luckily enough, the man was quick to welcome him in to joining too, extending an offering out to him once he had finished talking to the other person. Looking quickly between them all he stepped back a little, twiddling his fingers together briefly. “Uhhh, I don’t need help, I’m pretty good…” he spoke lowly, looking awkwardly to the side before gasping, “N-No hard feelings! I’ll go with you all, sure…” So it seemed like the guy didn’t have any suspicions over him, that was good; however, he couldn’t let his guard down. Thinking for a moment he scratched his head, trying to think of a way to ease any underlying worries the man had for him. “I’m uhhh…Cecil, I guess…”
Sweet, meaning I'm up next unless Raylah wants to bounce in.
