Jack Hudson

Location: The Outer Gate

Jack appreciated the smiles and nods he caught from some of his friends. It was better than the alternative of death glares, though he really doubted that would happen. He'd try his best to serve Newnan well, just as he had always done. He just hoped that he really was the right man for the job, but he trusted Ash. Ash wouldn't make a decision like this lightly or without careful thought. He listened to Commander Martin's announcement attentively, despite not having any involvement with agriculture. It was the respectful thing to do, as far as Jack was concerned.

But of course, once Tatiana hobbled in through the gate, she had all of his attention. He frowned as she went to Ash first, rather than coming and sitting down in the wheelchair. She really needed to stay off of that foot. But considering the circumstances, and of course the fact that he was deeply and madly in love with her, it wasn't like Jack was going to chew her out about it. No, if she didn't come and sit in the wheelchair after she was done talking with Ash, he'd come over and scoop her up into his arms himself.

Fortunately, she did just that a minute later. He had caught brief snatches of what she had said to Ash and it brought a bit of a smile to his face. He couldn't help but imagine Tatiana would flip out when she found out her hubby had just been named second and that Froggy would finally get the time to relax that he deserved. In fact, he was about to tell his wife about the announcements she missed when Jack heard Niesha's uncertain voice.

Heart attack? Who? Jack searched the crowd before his eyes landed on Miss Sally. All of the color drained from his face as well. Froggy and Ash were right next to her, which was good, but Jack (as always) wanted desperately to help. But he wasn't medical and he certainly wasn't in charge of medical. He'd only get in the way. "This can't be happenin'..." Jack said numbly, his eyes widened with fear for Miss Sally's life.

Beatrice Decker

Location: Just Outside of Newnan

Beatrice could've cheered when Tatiana left without interrogating Ryan, Gavin, and herself about their feelings as well. They had successfully escaped mandated therapy, as it seemed. She smirked slightly at Gavin's comment about her ears, a wicked idea coming to mind. "Of course. We'll use your ears, obviously, and then you can have mine once they've been removed," Beatrice agreed.

As Ryan mentioned Jack and Tatiana having a baby, Beatrice shuddered slightly. They had lucked out, then, by deciding to leave Newnan. If the two of them were disgustingly happy before, she figured they would be vomiting romance and rainbows and happiness by now. It'd be enough to kill Beatrice. She couldn't help but wish Ryan would've banged on the window a little harder. The sooner they got away from Newnan, the better.

"He's insane," Beatrice said quietly, once Gavin was up in the cab with James. "This'll be fun." She then grinned, perhaps the largest smile she had done in years. The muscles in her face actually ached a bit from it, never experiencing that type of use before. And of course, it looked unnatural on Beatrice. Her facial expressions were usually slight and muted. Anything else was just...wrong.

Chloe Ridgeway

Location: The Outer Gate

Chloe nodded as Riley asked if they'd be at dinner later. Not everyone would be able to drop everything to help Meg, it was just common sense. And of course, not everyone would be up to it. Somehow, some people were still a little squeamish when it came to corpses, Chloe imagined. Especially if the corpses were those of people you had known, people you had talked with just the day before. "Sure, I'm in," Chloe agreed, a bit irritated that Tiffany would be joining as well.

She was blowing off going back to medical that day in order to get away from people who judged her, not to go work with people who judged her. She doubted the day would ever come that Tiffany would be able to look past Chloe's criminal record and see that she was just a person. But even if that day came, Chloe knew that she wouldn't want to be friends with her. She held grudges.

Thana's announcement elicited a sigh from Chloe. She was technically assigned to the medical garden, but she wasn't even on the access list for it. Ash, Froggy, Sid, and Niesha were the only ones authorized for it. As far as Chloe was concerned, that was just another manifestation of the way people in Newnan didn't trust her. For a split second, she regretted not leaving with Ryan. But she couldn't just willingly abandon Riley. The only way she would willingly leave her sister behind would be if Riley was safer without her.

"Fuck," Chloe cursed, once Niesha's question drew her attention to Miss Sally as well. Froggy might want her help with it, but then again, she figured that he'd ask Niesha to help him. She was his star student, after all. But either way, she couldn't just blow off medical now to go and help Meg. "Might need a bit of a rain check on corpse duty," Chloe said to Meg quickly, before hurrying over towards Froggy, Miss Sally, Ash, and Ravi.

Ravi Chakrabarti

Location: The Outer Gate

Ravi listened politely to the various announcements that were being made. The mention of a medical garden gave him a fond wave of nostalgia for Seattle. People had been campaigning to grow weed in medical gardens for ages, with there being even some talk of legalizing the drug recreationally. Of course, it never came to much. But as Miss Sally pulled his attention away from days long passed, Ravi nodded and followed her over towards Froggy and Ash. He listened to her praise with a bit of embarrassment, his cheeks flushing.

Part of him wondered what the interview would entail. If they asked him about his termination from the CDC, would they not let him help out with medical? It was what he had been doing for so long and he couldn't honestly imagine doing anything else. He had steady hands and a passion for medicine--of course, forensic pathology was his favorite area, but it wasn't in much need anymore. Murders still happened but the justice system had changed considerably.

As Miss Sally went pale and cursed, Ravi's eyes widened with alarm and he reached out to steady her, nodding as he heard someone ask if she was having a heart attack. He just hoped it wasn't a widow maker. Those ones were the worst--the first symptom was the heart attack that killed you. "She's having a heart attack. We need to get her stabilized." Ravi then looked towards Froggy. He didn't want to step on toes, but Miss Sally's life was in danger. They would need a stretcher or a wheelchair, as well as to quickly take her to wherever medical was set up. It was likely she'd need surgery, as far as Ravi was concerned.

Location: Crypt Townhouse Near the Strand, London

James dropped the knife with a clatter, his eyes wide and excited. It was no great secret that he adored his older sister, something that amused Alfred greatly. Had others not known better, they may have mistaken Virginia for James' mother. There was a twenty year gap in age, after all. Wiping his face a bit with the back of his sleeve, James nodded eagerly. Tormenting Alfred was something that he enjoyed doing, and after years of working with the Crypts, Alfred wasn't nearly as exasperated with it as he should have been. Usually, if the boy was getting to be a bit much, he'd just tell James it was time for an impromptu fencing lesson and grab their foils.

"Oh! Hello Peter, it's such a terrible morning," Virginia said with a soft smile. She had witnessed some of the devastation of the garden from her bedroom window and assumed that was what Peter had come to talk to her about. It didn't bother her too much, especially since she could compliment the man on his good work. If Virginia recalled correctly, her father had a cousin who used to remove the petals from roses and then display the stems with pride.

"I shall see you both in the breakfast nook in a moment," Virginia instructed, followed by a nod from Alfred. The butler then shot a private glance towards the gardener, something vaguely along the lines of good luck, mate before ushering James through the hallways until they reached the breakfast nook. Peter then had Virginia's full attention, as well as her 'famous' unwavering eye contact.

"So Peter, what is it you wished to tell me?" Virginia inquired.

Maeve kept her eyes and face forward after she had caught a brief glimpse of the sodding wet man. She didn't want him to be able to see the slightest hint of amusement in her eyes, wondering just how the parson had managed to get a barrel of water to soak the man. The real wonder, Maeve supposed, was that while the parson was extraordinarily clumsy, he rarely seemed to injure himself. His actions always seemed to impact others the most.

"I cannot say ah've ever 'eard av it. we couldn't 'av afforded dis whaen I wus little--or even now," Maeve admitted, tilting her head at the fruit like a child, considering whether or not to try it. She then took a single chunk and bit into it, her eyes widening as the flavor hit her taste buds. It was unlike any fruit she had ever had before. "This...this is brilliant. T'anks, Nigel," Maeve said once she had finished the small piece.

But he didn't seem to know more about the parson's family than Maeve already knew, a fact that was a bit disappointing. She couldn't help but imagine, though, the parson making 'attempts' to join the family business while growing up, only to cause it all to end in disaster by one act of clumsiness or another. But then again, how did the man get through life if he was this clumsy all of the time? "Is he always this clumsy?" Maeve then asked.
@Pundii We knew his luck couldn't last forever...
