Ayla - Road - Ethan@josephb

Ayla got into the back of his car and buckled up. While not being seat belted meant that she'd have a faster time to escape, if this guy crashes into something, Ayla would quickly find herself flung at deadly speeds out of his car. She'd rather be safe than sorry. "Name's Ayla." She'd listen to him ask his question and ramble on, making her regret offering a team up. She knows he's just trying to make conversation but she wasn't interested in chatting with someone who might be dead in a few hours. "There's no one place that's safe to stay at right now. The most obvious places, churches, police stations, and clinics, have already been broken into or invested with the dead. For the past few days I've mostly been sleeping inside of cars or high places like on the top of cabinets or semitrucks. And you're the only real human I've met in a long time who wasn't... Who hasn't tried to do something to me. This is America. Once law and order went out, people became very terrible, very fast." Ayla was wondering if this guy even understood some of the depravity that she's escaped from or if he's been so isolated that he doesn't understand the dangers. She decided to enlighten him.

"About five days ago, two young girls and a boy were taken by a church. They didn't find me because I pretended to be a corpse. Those kids didn't even get a chance to talk before they were forced to the ground. I had to lay still, silent, for about thirty minutes before those monsters dragged them away to god knows where. A week ago I tried to work with a police officer who put his gun to my head and told me to give him everything I had and not to scream. I stalled for as long as I could so a walker could get behind him and bite him." Ayla moved some of her hair out of the way to reveal a red scar on the side of her head. "Almost had my brains splattered against the back of his car. I had to heat up a butter knife using a lighter to cauterize the cut, and I'm not even sure if it's not infected. For all I know I could die in a few days because of it." Ayla looked at Ethan with a cold stare after showing him her scar.

"If anyone has made anything resemble a safe and secured place here, I can guarantee you, it's not because they're being nice. You'd think that in a time of crisis like this people would stop being evil and work together... But like any story about a disaster, humans are the real monsters. Ever since this whole cataclysm started, anytime I've seen another human, they weren't fighting the dead. They weren't just trying to survive. They've been killing each other, for canned food or a pack of bullets." Ayla turned her attention to the mall in front of them. It'll only take them ten minutes at most to get there. "So no, I don't know anywhere safe here. If there's anywhere safe, it's not in this city. Maybe up north where it's colder. Canada or something."

Dulga Tarata

"Alright, enough chitchat. Let's move out." Dulga had all her gear ready so she'll send out the Lance Team first. They'll prod any ambush or defenses that the prefects might've already set up. As for the Hammer Team, they moved a bit slower but still capable of meeting up with the Lance Team if they run into trouble. Dulga was particularly wary for ambush or worse, scouts. Information was power and if she lets the Prefects spy on them, there'd be no way for the team to coordinate without the enemy figuring out their plans. Though that's also why Dulga had them split up into two teams anyways: better flexibility when communication breaks down. Regardless, Dulga can't worry about what-ifs or possibilities: she needs eyes on the enemy first. "Remember your roles. Let's maintain some silence so the enemy doesn't over hear us."
Does her insurance cover hospitalization? It might be safer for her if the fever leads to something more drastic. In this time, you can't be too careful when it comes to your health.

Ayla kept her hand on her hilt and her eyes on Ethan. So far he seemed... Reticent, which is different than how she's seen others act, but she still wasn't about to just hop into his car and hope for the best. He wanted to know where a mall was too. Ayla knew where the mall was at but has been avoiding it; a giant place like that was a hot bed for walker and survivor activity. Sure, there may be some places in there worth checking, but everyone would've thought the same thing. And too many people in one location means a lot of dead bodies, which means a lot of walkers. "Just down the street, about two miles right. Big place, you can't miss it, but I'm pretty sure the parking lot's got to hell. Lots of people have tried to go there... Not a lot made it out." Ayla quietly debated with herself if she wanted to go with this man. On one hand, she doesn't trust him. But on the other, could she survive on her own? No food, no shelter, not even any real weapons. She's been getting by mostly by running and hiding and that wasn't going to last long. At least this guy had a car. Ayla swallowed her pride and spoke up.

"Look... I still don't trust you, and if I have to I'm not afraid to kill you. But... But if we work together, I'm sure we can handle whatever we might find in that Mall. Not only that, but I've been to that mall before, at least before all of this shit happened. I vaguely remember a restaurant that was almost ready to open before the dead started walking around and eating people. Maybe if we're lucky, no one has bothered to look into it yet, but there may be some supplies worth taking. I don't know what, but better than searching through trash and eating gas station food." Ayla let out a deep sigh. She wasn't sure if she was going to regret this or not, but hells, the worse that could happen is that this guy tries to betray her and she has to run again. As long as she has two feet and her head, she can always run away. "If that's works for you... I'll help you out. Deal?"

There wasn't many other places Ayla knew where to look. As far as her survival situation goes, she was lucky to have found a few boxes of raisins and a bottle of water to fill her up for today, but she didn't have any food beyond that. She's more or less just been sleeping anywhere taller than a walker. She didn't even know where else to scavenge; this city was pretty much cleared out or walker invested. In the distance she could hear a car and she looked for cover. But much to her displeasure, this part of the road didn't even have a window she could dive through. She just slowly walked, listening carefully for the car and hoping it would quietly go away. It didn't. The person inside pulled up and Ayla gripped her machete as the person inside spoke to her and asked her if she was okay. Another man. Ayla has not had any good experiences with men ever since this whole disaster started.

"Is anyone okay these days?" Ayla would scoff. She glanced at him. Seemed young, same age as her at least. No immediately obvious weapons but he could have something small hidden on him. Ayla was tempted to talk to him more because of his car, but she remembers why she hasn't commandeered a vehicle for herself either. She didn't want to take her chances trusting a stranger. "Look I don't have anything to give you, and no, I'm not interested in sleeping with you to survive either." Ayla said bluntly with a hard stare. "And frankly I don't trust you either. So please... Let's just go our separate ways so we both don't have to regret meeting each other."
Ayla - Road - Alone

Ayla sat there silently as the shuffling noise got louder and louder. From the back room two little girls came out, both walkers. Dried blood around their wrists. In the distance, Ayla heard gunshots and screams. All of these things together combined into a horrific flashback of that day. Ayla wished she didn’t remember. A little girl named Amy was bit, and Ayla gave her a bandaid. When she started getting feverish Ayla gave her medicine, called her parents, and let her sleep in a quiet room. She let one of Amy’s friend inside to keep her company. When Ayla hears the screaming, that’s when it was already too late.

And just like that Ayla dropped the metal nut in her sling. The small ping caused the walkers to look at her and Ayla snapped back to reality. They went right to her and Ayla slashes through the face of one of the walkers with her machete. The other she kicked right in the face, her boots protecting her from the little zombie’s teeth. Killing these two walkers were easy on account of them being children. Physically easy, but emotionally exhausting.

The bike shop was a bust. Ayla knew she wasn’t going to find anything here so she simply picked up a length of bike chain and left. She could at least try and use the chain as a weapon, maybe wrap it around a pipe or bat to give it extra weight. But now she needed to keep moving. Maybe if she’s lucky she’ll find survivors, but considering the screaming earlier, maybe survivors were the last thing Ayla should find.
@Belle

I wouldn't mind if any of them come to the bike shop. I don't know if Ayla will be friendly with them, but I'll leave it up to you.
Ayla - Bike Store - Alone

How long has it been since Ayla has seen someone? A real person, not one of the walking dead? Even Ayla doesn't remember. Her life has been measured day-by-day since the event she calls the Cataclysm. That's the only way she could explain it. How else could the world go from perfectly fine one moment, and than hell on hear a second later? Right now Ayla was looking for an bike shop. She had seen an old advertisement in a looted out bar for bike repairs nearby and hoped she could snag one herself. Beast walking. And trying to use a vehicle in these conditions was nearly suicidal; the horde would hear you easily, they didn't care if you ran into them, and usable fuel would be a hot commodity. Not to mention traffic was terrible. But a lot of things people took for granted would quickly become rare. Clean water, electricity, gasoline, and most of all sanity.

Eventually Ayla would find the shop, but unsurprisingly it has also been looted. A lot of the bikes were gone, a lot of the protective clothing and helmets were gone, even the tools used to fix them were gone. All that was left were a few children sized bikes and even those were broken or simply too small for Ayla to use. Suddenly, she heard some movement in the back. Ayla was fast on her feet and went to hide behind the counter, picking up a small metal bolt and loading it into her sling. She waited there silently, waiting to see what the noise was. She hoped it god it was just one of them: she could kill a lone walker. Maybe two if they don't get her at the same time. But if it was three or more, she'd have to get out fast.
Appearance :
Name : Ayla Alexander
Age : 29
Skill :
Runner - Ayla was a track and field athlete growing up, and even well into her adult life she maintained that lifestyle.
Spotter - Ayla is just good at noticing things, whether it's small things hidden from the naked eye or hearing something off even under a cacophony of noises.
Stealthy - A new skill Ayla had learned to develop. She's managed to get the slip on both walker hordes and blood-thirsty raider alike.

Preferred Weapons (up to three) :
Sling - A simple looking length of nylon that Ayla has fashioned into a sling. She can hurl anything from rocks, shards of glass, or really anything that could fit and has enough penetration power to go through a walker's head.
Rusty Machete - Ayla was lucky to find this weapon on an unlucky survivor. Though because Ayla doesn't know how to take care of weapons, it has some notches and rust on it.
Firecrackers - Not really weapons but still useful tools against the horde, or just something to cause a distraction.

Personality :
Ayla is just one of the many people who have survived the cataclysm and come out a darker person because of it. She's seen what both walkers and men would do to her if she isn't one step ahead of them, and as much as she doesn't want to think about it, she has willingly left others to suffer a fate worse than death to save herself. Ayla has no hesitation when it comes to doing things she's afraid of like fighting, scavenging, or just surviving. As long as she can survive she's willing to do anything, for good or ill, and she'll do her damn best at it.

Brief Bio : Ayla was married to a great man, and had two children. Her husband was a doctor and Ayla herself ran a daycare center where she'd raise her own children and many others. It was a tough job but Ayla was a tough woman, willing to do whatever she had to do to protect those children. But just because she had the will, doesn't mean that she would succeed. Because of her own hesitation, when one of the children were infected, Ayla was too late to stop the spread. She was naive and foolish. And what she saw that day changed her deeply. When she went home to find her husband it was already too late for him as well. Seeing the horrors ahead of her, all Ayla could do was run. Run, and survive.
