If the Earth is flat, then how does one explain tens of thousands of people all across the globe in various space agencies not ONCE leaking that it's all a lie and everything's flat?

I'll be honest, I don't wanna put a bio up cause I'm afraid I'll scare people off by writing plainly, but not really interested in taking a bunch of time for am that formatting.
So if ya wanna chat, do send a PM!
If you're a friend of mine and wanna see the bio filled, and wanna write a truthful description of yours truly, lemme know! A description from a third party is alwayd the best kind.
@Luna_Maria Yes, same section, ship, and crew. The HR line is to signify the change in perspective- where at first it was third person in the ship's CIC, it switched over to a third person view from outside the ship.
CIC of the JSBF Silent Sentinel, 2 hours later Su'Talra watched grimly as data was fed back to him: three large warships, easily battlecruiser-sized, were moving towards his position. He had been drifting, but because of his speed and course just before going silent, he wasn't too far away from his last position- if anything, he had been getting closer to the investigating foreigners.
Those three ships were easily large enough to deal with his small one, and there wasn't any way to fight them. They were moving too aggressively, and he didn't like it when unknown ships bolted straight for his position, and didn't attempt to make contact. He had been the first one to meet the fifth sentient species that the Jora knew of; they were spacefaring, barely, but they had the courtesy to ask who's at the door.
<Use maneuvering thrusters, and bring us around. On my mark, go full burn towards the edge of the system. Helm, get ready, Navigation, plot us a course to the best hyperspace gateway,> Su'Talra snapped, in no mood for playing any sort of game with the aliens. Unfortunately, he knew that they wouldn't make it, not even if they full-burned at this very moment. If they opened up a hyperspace portal, there was a larger and larger chance that they could enter hyperspace with him, and follow him to one of the Juran systems- if they had the technology for it. No, if he wanted to get out of this system undetected, he'd either have to slingshot himself around and away by trying to glide past them, or...
<Shipmaster,> rasped Ni'Jioran, the Navigation officer. <We would not make it to the closest silent warp without being caught. They have the acceleration advantage on us.>
Su'Talra growled again, and began to order the Communications officer to prep another message. He was interrupted by him the next moment.
<Su'Talra, Central Command has sent word. Two patrolling ships from the closest system have been dispatched. They'll be here within the hour, and can come out wherever needed if we send the coordinates,> Cu'Ylleri recited, staring at his console, back to Su'Talra.
<This gives me an idea. Helm, full burn immediately. Silent is off the the grid now- retreat is our best option. Go for full burn.> Su'Talra gnashed his teeth in annoyance, but easily conceded to the need to retreat. Unfortunately, the unknown ships had proved themselves to be an annoyance, and were now closing too fast to outrun.
The Escort Corvette had spun around so its engines were facing the three approaching ships, some hundred thousand kilometers away still. Nonetheless, the range was getting far, far too close for comfort. It was with silence- as it was with everything in space- that the small, slender ship ejected blazing hot heat sinks, and the two rear fusion thrusters lit up like two small blue suns. At 100% efficiency, the forward drift ground to a halt, and then became a rapid acceleration.
But it wasn't enough- two destroyers were set to arrive in the system in two and a half hours. The corvette needed to escape the system, and its best chance was an area of empty space even emptier than the rest, with a slight gravitational 'tramline' to the next system over- and this disturbance causes eddies in hyperspace, which the corvette can take and hide in. Escaping through this route would take three hours of travel.
The three warships on the corvette's tail would intercept at about two hours.
The corvette’s turrets unfolded out of their ports on the hull, five triple-barreled railguns turning to lock onto the oncoming carriers. Sixteen ports the size of a Jura also opened, and even smaller railgun turrets popped out- point defense. All the point defense railguns were designed to fire a 25mm 1-kilogram bolt at .002% of lightspeed- a whopping 6,000 meters per second. Such impact force from a tiny projectile at high speeds was easily enough to disable or destroy fighters, drones, and even lightly damage heavy armor. Every strike railgun turret fired at a rate of about 2.333 rounds per second, with 200mm rounds traveling at .0005% of lightspeed- 1,500 m/s. The SRTs easily had a greater fire rate and higher damage per second, but weren’t even close to being as pinpoint-accurate as the point defense- the SRTs relied more on spraying short 5-second bursts and letting the collective damage mount up. On a bigger ship, they were far more intimidating because they could fire almost forever, with all the ammunition- but a corvette was only armed for short, fleeing engagements, or to fight off a small group of fighters or tier 5-3 civilizations. Any warship worth its salt from tier 3 and up would be able to take a corvette on, and this corvette knew it.
Sensing the incoming trio’s hostile intentions, the small patrol ship nonetheless attempted to communicate, sending a message that could hopefully be translated by the aliens.
<Incoming foreign entities, the Juran Spacebourne Fleetship Silent Sentinel greets you, and requests that you slough off speed and avoid coming too close.>
The message played on repeat for several minutes before cutting off, engines of its transmitting ship still at full burn, tearing through the ship’s internel helium-3 fuel supply.
CIC of the JSBF Valiance, Hydian System Deep Space Picket The Corvette was already sending a report back to Central Command of the intruders, as it took several long minutes to receive the foreign ships’ broadcast (due to it being ten light-minutes away) and use its computer to translate it.
Within short order, a message was sent back in the same language.
”Mercantile Vessels of the Altis Acropolis, this is the JSBF Valiance, you are tresspassing deep in Juran Ark Federation space. You are hereby ordered to standby and prepare for an inspection. JAF Fleet units are en route; any attempt to flee will be taken as guilt of hostile intent, and treated accordingly. Hold speed and course, and wait for boarding parties for examination; resistance will be responded with accordingly. Do you copy?”
The corvette didn’t slow until it reached the turnaround point for a backwards burn, drawing closer and closer with computer-guided precision.
“Turnaround point” In space with ships that have thrusters on the rear, it’s hard for ships to speed up and then slow down only when they get close. Because their maximum thrust comes from the rear, a ship will spend the fastest course speeding up halfway to its destination, then flip around and spend the rest of the journey slowing down, so that when it arrives, it isn’t hurtling far faster than it needs to be.
It’s much cheaper to have one set of engines, and simpy turn the entire ship to face whichever direction it needs to head away from, rather than put engines in the front, back, and anywhere else. Manuvering thrusters (pressurized gases or smaller thrusters) or gyroscopes are used to turn a ship.
If a ship’s max speed is an acceleration of 250 m/s, and spends 3/4rths of a ten-minute journey accelerating at full speed towards a station it needs to dock at, then when it turns around to decelerate the last 2 ½ minutes, it’ll find it’s going (450 seconds or 7.5 minutes * 250m/s acceleration - 250 seconds or 2.5 minutes * 250m/s acceleration = too damn much speed to dock) 75,000 m/s too fast when it arrives.
With three large warships hurtling towards my corvette, and my corvette speeding up, there’s a slim chance that either: The alien warships WON’T turnaround, and shoot past my corvette like a bullet, thus allowing the corvette to slip off and escape The alien warships WILL turnaround, but too soon, and slow down enough for my corvette to gain an acceleration lead, and outrun its captors with its large engines and small ship.
Acceleration lead In space, there’s no top speed. Anything can reach a high speed if it turns its engines on long enough, and will constantly keep going. Thus, top speed doesn’t exist, but top acceleration does.
A small ship with powerful engines will easily have an acceleration higher than a larger ship, because less mass means it’s easier to move. However, if a bunch of big, slow warships spend an hour or more accelerating before the small ship begins to, the big, slow warships will catch the smaller ship before it can escape, simply because they had a speed high enough and a distance short enough that the smaller ship can’t beat it in enough time.
Tresspassing As a nation that has notable focus on military, the Jura are wary of anyone invading their space. Thus, when a seemingly harmless fleet shows up, friendly or not, it’s standard procedure to search them. If the mercantile fleet had been carrying an antimatter or nuclear warhead, a single ballistic missile- a missile fired with its engines inactive along a route to a target, such as a planet- could slip through all the outer patrol ships and inner fleets, activate its engines in high orbit, and shove its explosive into, say, the planet’s communication relay. With a planet’s communication relay gone, it’d leave them unable to communicate with the fleets or stations in high orbit, and would thus be easily susceptible to infiltration- no one could talk to anyone on the surface, and quantum communications have taken over most forms of communications. Because quantum communications have taken over most forms of communication, normal radios and such are less used and certainly not as effective.
I would say that the Jura are probably unbeatable in battle- if you don't manage to eliminate the first fleet you attack, a second will be en route almost immediately, if there's a chance you can win a battle.
The Jura Ark Federation has the largest population, and the most powerful fleet- but in that, the Fleets are its downfall. If a large enough nation, or a series of smaller nations, attacked the Jura from multiple spots, successively, to draw the fleets from one place to another, you can force the Jura to accidentally abandon entire sections of Jura space- which are then open to attack without overwhelming space-based firepower.
@AbysmalDemon Okay, so pirates prey on weaker things, right? They like picking off people. The less people there are, the harder it is to grab a bunch of goodies and run off without facing much opposition.
This is why there would be caravan trains and the like in the old days. Merchants would travel in big groups so that all their security can focus on protecting all corners- rather than being stuck alone. So three merchants meet up with two more from another city, halfway down the route. Then they go to their final destination at a third city.
If a merchant fleet is too small, they might consider meeting up with another so that they can travel together. Another reason why they might travel together is if their warp drives are super expensive, and can wear out after so many uses. So, a single ship opens up a warp large enough for all ships to enter hyperspace- the rest of the ships save a bit of life on their expensive equipment, and they can take turns.
So, as your Merchant Fleet 1 enters a system to wait a short time for Merchant Fleet 2, a JAF Patrol Ship warps into the system.
CIC of the JSBF Silent Sentinel In a brief ripple of time and space, a single Overwatcher-class Corvette, set on an exploration mission out past the Fringe Line- the edge of Joran settled space- warped into the system. It took a moment for the entire ship to recalibrate to its new environment, and activate its active and passive sensor equipment. At the same time, it launched two surveillance drones, high-stealth, quantum-linked drones that glided through space as if they were debris from a faraway comet or moon, very passively gathering information with the best sensors known to Jura.
A dark reddish, unstriped Jura stood in the pit of the CIC. His central position was where the ship was; all around him, space debris and objects began appearing on the holographic display. Because they warped into the very edge of the system- standard procedure- the only objects appearing were generally directly in front of him.
Shipmaster Su'Talra of the Sentinel Clan purred to himself, the graveling rumblings of it making a deep, throaty hum of contentment.
<Another successful jump. Communications, send word to Central Command that we have reached our destination, and are scouting it now,> Su'Talra said, voice heavy and deep, in their native language. <Thirty-second system to be scouted in as many solar days. Not even Su'Vakra can keep up with me.>
Seven other Jura manned their consoles in a semicircle around him, an officer at their station: Communications, Helm, Navigation, Weapons, Utility, Executive, and Analyst. Each had their role, and having served with all of them for years- he knew they'd do it well.
His contented purring and inner musings caught in his throat, however, when the first two moons appeared on the display. The farthest planet in the system was at its orbit closest to their position, and it took a full twenty minutes for them to get the data from it. The worst thing about warping in at the edge of the system was that you were ten light-minutes or more from the nearest planetary body, and this one was occupied.
<Inform Central Command that we have made contact with a foreign entity in the system. Pass on all data with it.> The Communications officer obediently relayed the message, transmitting it through the ship's instantaneous internal quantum communicator.
Shipmaster Su'Talra stared at the slowly-updating, slowly-expanding field. The unknown contact had covered the moons and planet in something- the computer couldn't identify whatever it was, based on preliminary analysis. Which was odd, because there should be a hell of a lot more natural items in the way- more random atmospheres and gases, and the like. Here, it was all... weird.
The Jura growled, while his underlings remained silent. They knew they could offer up suggestions or ideas, but if they didn't work out or offered something to the problem... Su'Talra would then be Su'Angry.
Finally, the Navigation Jura barked at his Shipmaster, who turned his contemplative, mildly aggravated eyes on the officer.
<It could be that they grew on the planet and moon. The active sensors are reading very notable heat sources from what must be space-worthy power plants, but the readings are showing organically designed ships. Why not have ships that were grown? Rich Jura can grow gold on a plant, why not something like steel or titanium?>
Su'Talra stared for a long moment, before muttering, <A meal in your name, Ni'Jioran.> The officer perked up, pleased that his contribution earned him a meal dining like a king, and everyone shouting a toast to his name. It was an excellent time to preen and enjoy oneself.
The Shipmaster had already turned his gaze back to the slightly shimmering figures spread in front of him. Reaching out, he stretched three clawed digits to surround the planet and its two moons, all occupied, and extended the fingers, quite quickly. The computer obediently zoomed in on the area, slowly providing higher and higher resolution and greater model accuracy as the active sensors swept them over and over.
Growing all over a planet... he had a terrible gut feeling.
<Cu'Ylleri, send word that a Fleet might be required. This Shipmaster thinks our new contacts may not be interested in peace.>
Unbeknownst to the Jura, the Zerg that he had just stumbled across were already beginning to react to his presence, and how obvious he was, scanning them with radar.
It took several long minutes before he began seeing movement, and he snapped his digits at Utility.
<Order the ship to run silent. Cut the exhaust, the turrets, everything. We will be nothing more than another rock floating through space. We will wait for the fleet, or for orders.>
PASSIVE SENSORS Passive sensors are receptors- they record light, sound, etc.- and use that information to detect various things. Generally terrible at long-long ranges, but can be useful to continue 'seeing' without actually being spotted or detected.
ACTIVE SENSORS Active sensors are very straightforward ways to detect other things. Active sensors are like sonar, radar, or something otherwise similar. They ping with a burst of energy or the like, and wait. It sends out a wave all around it, or in a specific direction, and waits for it to hit something- in which it's bounced back. And so active sensors are an obvious way of gaining information, but also very easily detected.
WHY SENSORS MATTER Active sensors could be used to scan space around a ship, and it'd fine a great many objects around it- but a ship with passive sensors, running silent, might be misidentified (extremely more likely at longer ranges, and even more so the less and less advanced they are) and labelled as space debris.
When a silent-running, passive-scanning ship is swept by active sensors, two things will happen, with one thing in common: Applies to both: The passive ship IMMEDIATELY knows the location of the active sensor. When someone shines a laser light at you, you'll know. A) The passive running ship is detected, probably because it's close enough for it to be made out to be NOT natural, or because it's leaking radiation, heat, or something else somewhere else. Thus, it's obvious. B) The passive running ship remains undetected, and it can monitor the scanning ship's position without having to do anything but keep an ear out.
QUANTUM COMMUNICATION Using the theory of quantum entanglement, the Jura have designed super secure, instantaneous communication. By constructing two microchips that are intricately and inexplicably linked to other- various particles in them are Part 1 of 2 parts. The Part 2 is in the opposite chip. When one chip sends a message, it's essentially poking those particles over and over, switching them. Because quantum entanglement is the theory that describes the effect between two linked particles that ALWAYS remain at opposite states- and change instantly across any distant, without any known signal across any distance- the Jura have used these to create impossible to hack, impossible to detect, and instantaneous communication.
Every Jura ship has a direct link to Central Command, so it can keep track of them while in hyperspace, realspace, or anything else.
SILENT RUNNING The art of moving quietly, essentially.
If Active Sensors is something like echolocation- making a sound and letting it bounce back to tell you where things are- and Passive Sensors is like listening and seeing, then Silent Running is like remaining far enough away that your echolocation can't reach me and get back to you, without making a single noise and staying out of sight.
@AbysmalDemon Mayhaps, instead, they're stumbling across the JAF? A merchant fleet warping into a system so they can meet up with another merchant fleet to travel together to another destination (protection in numbers: pirates don't attack big parties), when they find themselves being faced with an unknown patrol ship?
I'm writing up one of those patrol ships stumbling onto one of @Luna_Maria Zergs, after all.
These creatures- the Jura- are roughly 8 feet tall on average, though the smallest can be 6 foot, and the tallest around 9 foot. They generally weigh anywhere between 200 and 450 pounds, and are strictly carnivores- as noted when you take a look at their razor-sharp double-row of teeth. Eye colors range across yellow, grey, green, red, and purple- and these eyes are small, and sharp. While naturally hunched over, they can extend their bodies to be anywhere from 10 to 14 feet tall, when stretched fully. Skin colors are darker greys, greens, blues, and browns. Some Jura have stripes of the same color, if only lighter.
Jura are an apex of physical and mental prowess. Having grown up on a Gardenworld that hosts an oxygen level twice that of Earth and slightly less than Earth’s gravity, they were capable of growing larger and stronger- just as everything else on the planet was able to. For the vast majority of their lives, evolution honed them to be just as intelligent as they were powerful.
Verbally, they are mimics. While they cannot move their lips, they have a series of muscles located around their throat, just beyond their sizable voice box, that allow them their mimicry. By default, however, they hiss, snarl, growl, purr, and speak softly with course, but gentle voices- unless they’re angry.
They have acute hearing and sight, but have a sense of smell as good as human beings, with an ability to taste that’s far worse. Plus, their skin is thick and leathery- they cannot feel things very well, and thus rely more on machines for fine tuning and such.
Males and females are virtually identical in biology and societal standing beyond sexual organs and the way their bodies accomdate them- males are slightly narrower, females are slightly wider. The only notable difference that they use to distinguish between the two are their torso’s width, pheromones that they give off (very strong, so that they can actually smell it), and their stripes. Males have stripes that start lower on the front of their bodies, and go upwards around their sides and to the back, while females are opposite.
Egg-laying, usually in batches of 3 or 4. Eggs can be laid every 3 months, and it takes about 12 human months for them to hatch. Thirteen years pass before a Jura reaches maturity, and their prime lasts for about 20 years. After that, they slowly delcine in health until they die.
General Description and history:
The Jura have been around, cosmically, for far longer than most sentient species, and took advantage of that time. In a tight solar cluster, the Jura have long since been used to darker, redder light of their aging star, and their sky is filled with hundreds of stars from other, very nearby, solar systems, most of those being almost as old as the Jura’s home system’s star.
For three million years, the Jura evolved from their ancestors. Unlike Earth, there was no catastrophe that wiped out and reset the entire planet’s surface ecosystems- those creatures that came about ten millions prior to the founding of civilization remained, and only evolved to the new conditions. The Jura came from a massively long line of evolution in a four-legged ape-ish lizard, one that slowly grew in size from chicken-sized to the great beasts they are now- because throughout it all, they were slowly becoming smarter and smarter than everything else. They were able to eat more, protect their own, pass on the best traits, and then some. The variety in their small family clans allowed the naturally group-based Jura to bring newer and newer thoughts to the table- until it got to the point where it wasn’t simply monkey-see monkey-do, with one occasionally doing something new, but they were actually communicating and discussing options.
Eight thousand years after the first Jura family-clan founded a language and the first settlement- the clan being known as Jura, and naming the entire species after themselves- found the Jura among the stars for the first time. Three hundred years later saw them finally expanding outside of the cluster, and finding new alien species- sometimes they conquered, sometimes they left them alone, and sometimes they integrated them into sections of their civilization.
Throughout this time, the clans of families warred with each other, or made peace. In comparison to humans, their wars happened more often, and easily bloodier, but each and every result was progressive- never once has a Juran war accomplished little to nothing. Each war brought a burst of inventions and ingenuity, each time becoming a bright point in the progression of the Juran people. Jura went from primitive beasts, finally carving out a settlement from extremely hostile landscapes, to dominating entire sections of land, and taming the monsters of the world to either run away, or serve as steeds or livestock.
Because of a clan’s inclination towards specific support towards the clan leader, it made sense that clans coming together would refuse to acknowledge the ruling of another clan’s leader. Promoting one clan leader over all others failed six times before a clan elected for a different path- all clan leaders gathered together in a council, and cooperatively made decisions. Cooperation had been widely regarded as something that was necessary, but no one knew how to do it.
Shortly afterwards, the first nations began to rise. Better weapons were already being developed, but the official uprise of primitive nations saw steel swords and crossbows, trebuchets and scorpions. Warbeasts were being phased out as calvary took prominence; shortly thereafter, cannons and guns followed.
Two hundred years was all it took to reach one of the Jura Homeworld’s two moons, and after that, the stars that Jura saw so prominently above them suddenly seemed well within reach.
Throughout it all, the council system worked. Every time there was need for another level, another level was voted on and added. Overall, Jura have been satisfied with their form of government, because internally, they saw two types of Jura- followers and leaders. Anyone can be a follower, anyone can be a leader, but because there’s such a small demand for leaders, followers are perfectly fine with casting a couple votes and going about their lives.
As Jura spread out across the star, several splinter groups began to emerge- until the beginnings of what is now 1st Fleet annhilated them. Their ideas were partially integrated into society, but overall- there was no splitting away from the JAF.
There is two ideals that are consistent and prominent throughout Juran history: Clans, and Committment.
Government type and societal organization:
The JAF utilizes a series of councils for all decisions outside of military operations. They are listed below, in order from most supreme, to the least.
-- Supreme Council - All major decisions concerning the nation as a whole -- Interplanetary Council - All major decisions concerning a single solar system’s functions -- Planetary Council - All major decisions concerning a single planet’s functions -- Continental Council - All major decisions concerning a single landmass’s on a planet’s functions. -- Local Council - All major decisions concering individual facilities or cities.
Each lower council has one or two representatives in the council above. If a single planet has three continents, with a dozen settlements/colonies/facilities each, then each Local Council of the seven most popularly-elected leaders will elect one of their own to participate in the Continental Council. Of the dozen Council members of the Continental Councils, one from each is elected to participate in the Planetary Council. If a system has four settled planets, then two representatives from each planet will be elected for a Interplanetary Council of eight. Two more Councilmen will be elected to serve in the Federal Council.
Population:
Roughly about 130 billion Juran have been recorded in the last census.
Number of Planets and Systems: -- 75 Solar Systems within the Hydian Star Cluster (Home to about 300 solar systems, all of them tightly clustered in comparison to other clusters of stars) -- -- 4 Developed Solar Systems -- -- -- Jura Origin System: 5 colonized planets: 1 homeworld, 4 fully developed and terraformed planets. Homeworld population is 30 billion; the 4 other planets have about 5 billion each. (50 billion so far) -- -- -- Jura Star System Alyntra: 3 colonized planets: 2 Industry Nodes, 1 Gardenworld. The Industry Nodes have about 1 billion pop. each, the Gardenworld has 4 billion. (56 billion so far) -- -- -- Jura Star System Benta: 4 colonized planets: 2 Industry Nodes, 1 Gardenworld, 1 Developed planet. Industry Nodes have about 1 billion, Gardenworld has 4 billion, the Developed has 5 billion. (67 billion so far) -- -- -- Jura Star System Celira: 2 colonized planets: 1 Industry Node, 1 Gardenworld. Industry Node has about 2 billion people; Gardenworld has about 7 billion. (75 billion so far) -- -- 70 Colonized Solar Systems -- -- -- Each colonized solar system has 2-4 colonized planets, with only the newest having 1 planet. Each system has roughly 700 to 850 million Jura, in the form of military, industry, etc.
Gardenworld: A planet terraformed or naturally abundant with life, sometimes more than usual. These are planets with water on the surface without terraforming, and are generally lusher, and more vibrant, than other planets. These planets generally have higher populations and feature more commercial/residential properties.
Industry Node: These are planets that are generally barren in some form- too hot, cold, icy, etc.- but are settled anyways for their resources. Generally speaking, they have the biggest and best shipyards, produce and manufacture many of the goods of the JAF, and source many of the resources that are sent farther into the system.
Note on solar systems of the JAF: about 1/3rd of the solar systems in the Hydian Star Cluster have a gas giant, which are VITAL. Gas giants always have stations in low orbit called ‘cloudscoops’- these trail giant hoses down to the gas clouds and suck it up, to filter it for He-3 (Helium-3), which is a vital part of the majority of the JAF’s spaceships. Only a few military ships run on something other than He-3, those two types being Antimatter Lightdrive and Thorium Reactors.
Spacebourne Navy:
12 Total Fleets: -- 1st through 7th
-- 2 Auxilliary-Support fleets
-- 3 Reserve fleets.
-- 180 patrol-type ships outside of any fleet (Light Destroyers and Patrol Cruisers)

-- x4 Small Capital Ship Berths -- -- x1 OCS ship per berth by default
-- Armed with: -- -- Heavy Point-Defense (Railguns, Nuclear Swarm-Missiles) -- -- Moderate SRTs (Strike Railgun Turrets) (Moderate anti-ship capability) -- -- Moderate Utility: Moderate shielding, light armor, utility drone launch bays -- -- Heavy (ASPC) Anti-Ship Particle Cannon: A long-charge, single-shot particle beam that fries electronics, instantly kills organic matter with a massive onslaught of radiation, and melts material. Low physical damage, extremely high personnel damage- powerful enough to defeat most of the JAF’s ships.
Desc: The Regal Carrier came into service about ten years from the start of the RP, and have since served exceedingly well. Being one of the few ships armed with an antimatter reactors, it’s that special sort of ship that the JAF absolutely loves because of its usability, and hates because of its cost.

No fleet units exist until assembled out of ships that have been phased out of active duty, but not yet scrapped or repurposed. The current three Reserve Fleets only have their flagships, which are trainee vessels that are combat-ready, but on standby- 3x modern Battlecruisers for each of the three Reserve fleets. -- At any point in time, there are about 10-30 of each class used as trainee vessels around the Juran Homeworld.
Alignment: Grey
The Juran Ark Federation, or JAF, serves its own interests. Sometimes, that means conquering, and sometimes, that means making peace or coming to the aid of allies. They do not abide by any sort of code; they do not immediately attack, or make peace, but rather assess a situation for the best possible course of action.
Primary Characters:
Name: Taureth of the Hydian Maximillus Clan Age: 67 (really old damn old), appears to be more like 33 Position: Au', a Great Clan Leader of one of the largest and most prominent clans in the JAF. More than that, he's also been voted up the ranks and is one of the few Supreme Councillors. He's been elected to head all diplomacy with foreign nations, on behalf of the Supreme Council. Physicality: One of the more augmented Jura, Taureth has the build of one of the most prime fighters. While of average height, he's stronger and more powerfully built, and features dark grey skin with dozens of thin ashy stripes. His spines are jet-black, as is average among Jura, and his eyes glow violet, with his natural eye color and the nanobiotechnology that keeps him both young, unaging, and in near-perfect health.
Technology level: -- Tier 2 Civilization, and here's why: -- -- Advanced, having spent a great deal of time among the stars. They've got antimatter reactors, warheads, etc. Translocation Gates between major systems for instantaneous transportation, advanced warp drives that create an area of effect- a single carrier could bring its entire fleet with it, and faster than Tier-3 civilizations because of the antimatter reactor powering it. -- -- Ambitious, having done more than most in the time they've had since they began learning about the universe. -- -- Intelligent, having forged ahead in most areas of science without stopping. Why have an entire fleet individually warp to a system, when a flagship could simply bring the entire group, while still in formation? -- -- Culturally dull, because while there is a great many traditions and honors and such, they do not have fine arts like humans. The only notable thing about their culture, beyond their clans and history and such, is the fact that they are magnificent, magnificent cooks. Because of their dull tastebuds, they make up for it by making strong, almost powerful tasting foods.
The JAF are a Tier-2 civilization- they have a population way higher than the Zerg, and are more advanced besides. The Zerg might want to rethink all-out war with this older civilization.
