The Usurpers (, brutal, fantasy)

The War is finally over. Silence hangs over the country of Silith, as the commoners cower in their fragile dirt huts praying to the gods. "Is it over?" They whisper to each other. "Has King Aragoth finally beaten the council?" The mutterings cease as the marches begin. Precise, well timed footsteps are heard all over the country. The citizens pray harder, hoping, pleading that their door will be opened by the gold plated Templars, with food and drink to celebrate the final victory.
In one house, a mother hugs her child to her chest, tears brimming in both their eyes. The door creaks open and she stares at what the door has revealed, covering the child's eyes. The mother watches in horror as 2 leather boots step into her home, blood spattered and dyed black. The chain mail leggings swish lightly, and above that a chest plate of pure obsidian. Finally, a steel helmet obscures the face, but the eyes are visible. Dark, smoldering eyes with the sort of red tint that only a madman could contain. "A knight of the Council" she whispers in disbelief "but that can only mean one thing". At last, she hears the words she prayed she'd never hear, but it is impossible to shut out the deep gravelly voice that says, "the War is over. The Council rules this land."

OOC

The usurpers is about a group of Rebels, 40 years after the Great War trying to take back control of Silith which is ruled by the mysterious and evil Council. Because the council rules and prohibits commoners from learning any type of combat, you will have little formal training with melee or magic based fighting. There are 2 main ways to play, one of which is the group gathering resources and learning, before attacking and claiming individual villages and eventually taking back the country. The other way is to be constantly traveling between towns, fighting and gaining allies but never focusing your efforts on a specific place for long. The closer you get to the capital, the better defended a town is. You start in Vilnick, a small village at the very edge of Silith. As the RP continues you will become much stronger and eventually be strong enough to take on the Council themselves. The Council is made up of 4 individuals which each control a piece of Silith. They are headed by Lord Regent Crow, who controls the center piece of Silith including the capital itself. For the classes and magic, don't be afraid to make something up as long as it's not OP. The examples I put are just stuff off the top of my head! If I get some interest I'll expand the OOC allot more. If you have any questions please ask!

Sooooo... I may have accidentally buried this RP under mounds of homeworkers for the past 3 days... ill definitely whip up a CS if you guys are still open
Is this still open? It looks really interesting and I'd love to make a necromancer.
@RinOkumara I was hoping to get at least 3 people, and its fine if you're new I'm pretty new myself heh
@Ater FireSoul yeah, some people said they were interested but only one person actually made a CS. If we can actually get the people I'd still love to do it.
Safety wasn't a word that Leroy used much, or really anyone else in Wal-world. Of course, when he gripped the handle to the tavern, he didn't expect a man with an axe through his head stumble out of it. When he had first observed the tavern, it had looked relatively "safe" but again, nothing ever really was. Before Leroy could even think about what to do with the body, several figures burst out of the bar after the dead man, and it was all he could to step backwards in order to avoid the barrage. An aging man burst out of the doorway, quickly followed by an archer and hold on, was that a topdweller?

While they sprinted to what looked like a rusted old golf cart, a Wallord warrior ripped through the doorway, hatchet in hand. Now, if all of this wasn't a hallucination and those people were actually real, they obviously had some sort of purpose behind them to chase and Leroy wanted in on it. Ignoring the urge to drag the body of the man away for tests, he pulled out his hunting knife and slashed out at the enraged warrior. The blade ripped through his weak armor and scored a shallow cut along his chest. The man of course didn't notice the blow until the toxin started flowing through his bloodstream. His mouth started frothing, and he fell into the floor screaming so loud Leroy could almost compare it to the voice in his head when it was mad at him. Speaking of which, the voice was yelling at him now. "Go with them, they will further your quest" the voice invading his thoughts and mind.

He quickly sidestepped the man and ran after the group, jumping on top of the golf cart and causing it to groan in protest. The graying man stopped whatever he was doing to stare at Leroy. He imagined himself to be quite a sight, a rough leather trench coat and dented crow mask obscuring most of his body. "Drive you imbecile! Before whatever force you've wrought upon yourself is released upon us all!"

(If you have any tips or advice to help my writing, please share!)
@ClocktowerEchos IC post will be done by the end of today.
@Aeonumbra okay I'm actually really glad you pointed that out because I REALLY worded that wrong. I didn't mean to convey that he super strong or anything, just that because his body gets malnourished so often he usually just ignores it and pushes himself beyond his weakened capabilitys. I hope that makes sense.

| NAME |
Leroy Omerson

| DEPARTMENT |
Pharmaceuticals, currently loner

| AGE |
38

| TRAITS | -
  • Absent Minded - because his mind is completely filled with thoughts of his quest, he frequently forgets to eat, sleep and drink unless reminded or becoming almost too weak to continue. he has lost most of the ability to feel hunger or thirst, until it gets to the point of almost passing out.
  • Single minded - after the nightmares and dreams entered his life, he quickly lost all other goals and values except for making the potion. He finds anything that doesn't continue his quest to be a waste of time and energy.
  • detached - when he left his department, Leroy lost his family, his friends and everyone he had known in his whole life. He stopped seeing people as people, instead his broken mind Only seeing the creatures around him as tools only useful for continuing the quest. If any opportunity arises to continue his quest he will take it, no matter what must be sacrificed.
  • Medically Trained - despite it being a decade since he left the confines of the infirmary, Leroy has still managed to keep the knowledge of medicine and herbs in his shattered mind. He can use common chemicals and materials to craft basic bandages and medicines. Also because of his need to craft his potion, he has become proficient at brewing liquid and drafts.

| EQUIPMENT | -
  • Poisoned Hunting Knife and Shivs - a gift from his parents, he keeps the long hunting blade constantly wet with a homemade venom. He also has a couple of rough shivs that he uses if he needs range.
  • "Holy Journal" - small leather bound journal where he keeps all of his notes about herbs, medicine and potion. Also has his recipe for making the bombs.
  • Potion of Infite Power - this potion is the culmination of years of work. Leroy believes that upon finishing this potion, he will become the most powerful person in the entire store. He will become a god. As of now, the potion is just a finely polished glass bottle, filled with a dark green liquid of unknown origin. The bottle is corked and is strung around his neck. It is very far from completion.
  • heavy leather coat - a durable, heavy leather coat that covers most of his upper body. It is good protection against melee attacks but won't come close to stopping a bullet or a sharp blade.
  • Crow Mask - as one of the last efforts to ward off the nightmares, Leroy fashioned a wooden/ metal crow mask, which he keeps constantly stuffed with herbs and spices in the beak. Unfortunately like all his other attempts, this to failed.

| BIOGRAPHY |
The pharmaceuticals department is a strange place, filled with aspiring scientists and insane dreamers, working side by side. This odd combination works fairly well, except for the unfortunate times when the insanity outweighs the genius. Of course, no one expected Leroy to be on the insane side of the spectrum. He was born to 2 of the smartest chemists in the Department, and from his early years he aspired to outdo them both. Throughout his schooling he earned top marks, even going as far as to earn the highest honor a child can receive, the gift of his very own "Li'l Tykes Chemistry Kit!".

Leroy was quickly identified as a genius, and was able to skip the later years of his schooling and rent a private laboratory to continue his work in peace. He majored in weaponized chemistry, and most of his time was spent concocting new types of bombs and poisons for the defense of his home. Things were looking bright for Leroy, until the voice.

Leroy isn't sure of exactly when the voice started talking to him, nor is he sure when the nightmares started appearing in the day as well as the night. He dreamt of a glorious potion, pure gold and shining in his hands. He drank the potion and was filled with a power unmatched by anything he had ever felt before. He would be a king, may a god. The voice told him all of this, showed him his destiny. It didn't trouble Leroy when the voice started talking to him in the daytime, and neither did it trouble him that he had forgotten to eat for the past 2 days. All that mattered was the potion, and he spent days locked in his laboratory trying to perfect the first part. Finally just the right amount of chemicals were used and with a blinding flash a green liquid slowly filled the bottle. He thought the voice would leave him alone, the visions would fade, he could go back to living a normal life. That night was when he finally broke. The voice taunted him all night, dredging up the worst memories from the worst parts of his life. By the end of the night, he was convinced. His only salvation was to create the potion.

Leroy brought no food or water with him, instead choosing to stuff his backpack with every chemical and medicine he could find. In the dark of night he fled out of a service hatch in the infirmary, bringing with him only his bag of chemicals, trusty hunting knife and fragmented mind. The next decade of his life was spent scavenging, trading what chemicals and medicine he produce for the necessities to continue his quest. His mental condition only worsened, and without the love of his parents and friends Leroys view of people became increasingly degraded, only seeing them as a means to an end. His potion far from completed, Leroy has decided to become a Bargain Hunter in hopes of finding more ingredients for his potion.
okay lets have another go at this shall we?
