Current Think I'm gonna finally get to RPing here. Don't know if I'm gonna commit, don't know where to start, and don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do it.

I've had Johnny Cash on my mind all day. Can't get "When the Man Comes Around" out of my head. Tempted to let it influence some writing or make it a character's "theme"

I'm a bit scattered brained lately, so if I need to respond to a roleplay response, just remind me, I could've forgotten.

Finally done with the college semester, so I decided to treat myself to a expensive burger and a walk on the beach

Finally got Kokotha thread up. It's gonna be awkward in the first day of moving it here.

Bio

Hello, I am Patches

I roleplay as a hobby, as well as designing OCs to be used in various types of roleplays. No matter the setting, I believe I have one just for the situation.

"Grapevine? Better hurry. It gets especially crowded around this time. Don't wanna walk in and find out that there are no seats or all the drink has run dry." Quinn said, fiddling with his artificial arm, one of the fingers getting stuck. Unlike the smooth, painted, and shiny prosthetic that many U.M members in the west used, his arm looked more simple and rustic, even with some exposed pistons.

Anyways, how am I doing? Well, pally, I'll tell ya. I had a bad job and got roughed up, but you should see the other guy, some Drekka cleaner probably wants me dead, and my next payment is delayed. I'm doing fine. He said, all with a smile, apparently taking his problems with stride, or at the least putting up a front.

Hey hey! Lucille! Came a rather jolly voice, contrasting with Tetu's tension. On the sidewalk, a very familiar clanking sound was weird. Making his way over to the group of three, was a young man. Clad in suspenders and his trusty cap, it was none other than the cocky delivery boy of the White Teeth, Quinn.

His most distinguishing features being his artificial legs and left arm. Magic based prosthetic, which moved as well as any leg made of flesh and bone. Thanks to the Universal Machines and the Kokothan Government's progress, losing a limb wasn't much of a problem anymore, if you had the money to replace it and the magic or rune batteries to fuel it.

This how you make friends, lately? he said, noticing the punch to Tetu, not quite acknowledging the cat; having not heard it speak, to him it was but an ordinary cat. Man looked to be a foreigner. With all the immigration booms, new faces were far too often in the city. Don't go hitting strangers, girl. He said, with a smirk, crossing his arms. Looking around, noticing the crowd that had gathered from Nino's outburst. What're you all standing around eyeballing at? Skedaddle on out of here!
I suppose disrespecting the dead comes with the job of delving into archeology. In our defense, the race of Isz isn't around to complain, are they? Plus the knowledge is worth it. She said, going over to the table to view the photographs. Hmmm... Did you find a skull? The Isz are said to have believed the skull was the most important part of them. So they ground down the bones of the dead into dust. All but the skull. Looking over the the relic mentioned, she asked Lucille. May I see that relic?

Despite having a cinema just a short walk from her house, she never got into watching movies. The radio was where it was at for her. Maybe one day she'd get into those films that were starting to become all the rage nowadays.

That was a whole lot of stuff. What would this man want with Preserved amalgamate flesh? Something like that was hard to get especially when amalgamates turned back into humans when they died. As for the other things though. I have rune batteries. What type do you desire? He said, going behind the counter. He put up a few objects. A small vial of liquid, a small grey bag of grainy material, and a cylindrical object that could fit in your palm. It depends on what you're making. Rune Machines are all the rage here on the east coast. They sell well.

@Jensoman
@tex
"It's going to pull Yim into our world using runes and magical batteries."

To this, Gossick answered, If you're looking to make a Extractor, I have an old one lying around. If you want to look for one of your own, that might be quite expensive to make. He said, adjusting his glasses. Although, from the looks of it, you already have things planned out.
@tex
Pedestrian? Are you looking for something combat oriented? Gossick said outload, not quite picking up on Mikey trying to be subtle with his words. If combat is what you're looking for, I'm wondering what you're using it for.
After all, he couldn't just sell to a shady looking person planning doing some unkind things in the streets of New Wickborough. While Gossick wasn't exactly a legal tender of weapons, out here in the poorer districts, it didn't quite matter.

@Jensoman
Now turning his attention to the other man, Gossick motioned over to a rack of potions, each with their own price tags, some of them on sale. In his monotone, he explained "Medical, rapid healing, magic enhancement, rune batteries, combat oriented potions. Take your pick."
@Ember Storm
By the Twin Gods... Gregor said, just now noticing the obese villain and guard making his way over to them. He knew the man didn't like him, so this couldn't end well.
@MercuryNH
@hefewy
Now Daud had made a move to confront the guard confronting Mercury. Things were not going so smoothly.
Thinking on his feet, Gregor looked to Duff. He had less than a minute to explain his plan, so he acted quietly and quickly.

I'll handle this. Act casual, act like a bodyguard. If everything fails, I'm going to flashbang them. I'll give you the signal he said, making a quick blink of light in his hands with magic. Gustrag was getting closer by the moment. That's the signal... From then, flag down Merc. We make a run for the gardens. From there-

From there you what, Mr. Gregor? a Gustrag said, now within speaking distance between the two, causing Gregor to snap his head towards him and the angry looking guard. Party guests began to look at Duff and Gregor, many going silent. Gregor was silent as well, as Gustrag began to speak again. No, go on. From there you what? I'd like to hear it.

From there... We go to the gardens for a smoke and drink. It's a good view. Gregor said, his classy attitude from before starting to crumble.

@MercuryNH
@hefewy
Those who weren't staring at the tension between Gregor, Duff, and Gustrag, were now staring at the tension between the guard, Daud, and Mercury. A few people within the crowd began mumbling to one another.
Weren't those two accompanying that Gregor guy?
Who are they? I've never seen them? Are they on the invitations list?
An Old Path Member? Aren't they criminals now?
I'm gonna be outside til this blows over.

The large beastkin guard scowled at Daud, not happy with being handled like this. Shooting a cocky smirk at Mercury, he looked back to Daud. "Who do you think you are?" With a quick swipe of his hand, he batted at Daud's helmet. Not a powerful or strong swing, it would likely make Daud's helmet go crooked. More insult than injury.

On the other end of things, in the chaos in the underground labs, things were still chaotic.

@Blizzardofoz123
"I'm not a fan of torture but..." Yoshimi mumbled, before pounding her fist on the ground for emphasis, before questioning the man. "Who's in the holding cells? WHere are they?!"

The interrogation subject however, scowled, hissing in pain, "You think... He'll let me live if I tell you? I'm dead either way. The guard began to activate a rune in his belt, with the minimal use of his hands that he had.

Yoshimi's initial thoughts were of confusion as to what he was doing. Then, as she heard a quiet, subtle clicking noise, she gasped Kordan! Get off of him. It's a bomb!

@Nashie@Ember Storm
Johnny's swings and display of bladework, managed to stop the guard from firing at him, even leaving a few deep wounds. Falling down, the wounded guard was dispatched.

Meanwhile, the guard that Astrid hit with her arrow managed to survive the hit, but was pained enough to stop his advanced. Looking around, he drew his side arm, looking for the archer.
They really did have a wide selection of wines. As expected from the White Teeth to go the full mile when it came to these things. She was in the mood for some red wine, her favorite. Maybe something white, to try something different. Might as well spoil herself a bit before she got to work.

As they chat, they mostly go into things like how their life has been going. Lucille talking about her experiences with the White Teeth, Wingate talking about her students or about past discoveries. A pleasant chat and a catch up with a friend was all she needed to get ready for a night of research.

Mmm~ You spared no expenses. Tell whoever brought them here that they kept them nicely intact. She said as she began to tie her hair back into a ponytail so it wouldn't get in the way. I've had people handle tablets roughly and break them and then expect me to read them. The nerve on some people.

While the tablets were intact to a degree, that didn't mean they were fully intact. There was still taking into account millenias of moisture and being slight erosion. A few words were gone, forcing her to fill in the blanks. She took her time. Translating of the language of Isz was a step by step process; first one had to figure out what each symbol meant, what sound it related to, then had to figure out what those words meant. Then, Wingate spoke.

Mmm... As mentioned before, these tablets seemed to have come from a tomb of someone seen as a hero. An'Kan...? I believe that must be their name. But from the sound of it, no one really knew about them... Or rather, they were some sort of unsung hero who got no credit for what they did. Carefully brushing away a layer of dust on one of the tablets, she continued How sad... Part of me considers taking the tablets back to the dig site out of respect.

As the papers flew around the room, several of the bottles that Gossick had managed to so carefully arrange began to fall off their shelves. With a sharp gasp Gossick made a beeline for them before they hit the ground. Then, in a swift motion, he caught them, one three between the fingers of his right hand, two in his left, and one balanced between his shoulder and neck.

Well wasn't this a interesting sight. He didn't get customers like this everyday, ones so wild. Putting the bottles on a nearby table displaying his wares, putting the one on his shoulder down last to prevent it from falling and breaking, he finally answered, speaking in an almost bored sounding monotone, strangely unphased despite his jolt of action earlier. I haven't the slightest idea what's going on here. But if you're here to buy something, I am having a sale on bloodroot.

Bloodroot was popular among healers. It could work as a blood thinner and a coagulant depending on how it was treated and applied. Despite the name, it is more of a tuber than a root.

Approved
I can dig this, don't go too overboard with silliness, but I see no issue. Plus I've been wanting to touch upon animals with brands.
Meanwhile in a small section of New Wickborough, in a cozy little potion shop, Gossick was busy cleaning the place. The place was out of the way and he had to pay bills, but it at least helped him get by. After all, with the magic craze going on in the country, many people were now interested in potions, even those incapable of magic bought them.

Carefully, he arranged all the different colored bottles on the shelves, arranging them by color; if you wanted customers, making the place look visually appealing was as important as cleanliness.

Soon, after a few finishing touches, his shop was open yet again.
