Writing is a fickle process. Sometimes you're not sure what to put down, sometimes you write way more than you ever intended.

Mirage had been focused on King Bowser for the most part, but a voice caught his ear, causing him to turn his head and look back at Shippy long enough to notice what looked like some sort of robot and some sort of... Cat girl? Waving to him. For a moment he was frozen, the mention of the zombies being a little unnerving, but nobody was panicking about it, right? So she must've meant what she said. He tried to snap out of this and offer a wave back with the one free hand he had, nervously laughing despite his fears being somewhat quelled. "Ahah, thanks. That's... That's good to know." He responded, planning to actually take a scan over the crew for more oddities, but then the King began to speak again, taking his attention.

Surprisingly comforted by the King's words, Mirage nodded with a smile, pleased to help and see some appreciation for it, to boot. "Not a problem," He replied to the King's thanks, though finding surprise in the fact he seemed not worried about the other creature at all. According to him, they'd apparently been through an ordeal before he got here, which explained the noise from earlier. For the sake of not complicating things, he figured he'd leave that topic for awhile. Maybe it'd be better to just not know what had happened down that river, right? Sometimes being the oblivious fool was just the best course of action for everyone involved, so he'd take that route for now.

"Fair, you definitely don't look like you'd belong here in the Luma Pools." He replied, taking the joke at his expense pretty well, all things considered. Probably because that was a familiar method of treatment for him, though he wasn't about to say something like that. As King Bowser brought up the Bottomless Sea, Mirage's eyes shot open. Why the hell would someone be heading there? He didn't know much, but word could travel around the Guild fairly easily about things, and the dangers of the Bottomless Seas were one such thing. "Yeah, I've heard of it. You're all seriously heading there? You guys must be on a serious job to risk the terrible sailing conditions and monsters." -- A serious paying job, too, Mirage thought. No wonder there were so many folks around, the King must've brought his best to challenge the Bottomless Sea! He had no idea what kind of Kingdom this guy had, but he must have been powerful to want to go to such a terrifying place.

Though, Mirage wouldn't get a reply, as instead attention fell on a man who plopped into the lake. Another vacationer? Really, this place was way more active than he thought. The man began to wonder if this was some sort of sign that vacationing was a bad idea, and that he should have continued to work to try and reach his personal goals. Honestly, if he wanted to find his mom, venturing farther than he could on foot was a good idea. And what if, by some sick chance, there was something out in the Bottomless Sea that could lead him closer to the answers he wanted? Naval combat wasn't exactly a specialty for him at all, but with these ships, he could potentially offer help in one way or another. He wasn't exactly a shipwright, but if they had some sort of weaponry on board he could definitely man it. He noted to look over the ships more, once he had a little time.

The King's snapping brought Mirage back to the task at hand; The mustached midget in the water. Mirage noticed the Ukazeer seeming to start tailing him as a potential snack for it's child, and all he could think of was numerous swears in his mind. Come on, mama boat! He didn't want this to end in the poor thing getting destroyed, but if the creature decided to try and eat that man, they might not have a choice. He let out a huff at the situation, overwhelmed with the numerous events that'd been happening today. "Probably." He answered shortly, following the King to the edge of the lake. Mirage pulled his Wingman out of it's holster, figuring if he had to, maybe a warning shot or two would be enough to scare off the Ukazeer before it made a huge mistake.

"Don't worry, Green Guy! We've got ya!" He shouted to Mr. Mini Mustachio, figuring he'd be reassured knowing they were aware of his chase. That being said, Mirage's eagerness instantly died as he saw the King reveal his weaponry, almost dropping his hefty revolver into the water as he took a step or two away from Bowser as he began to panic about how much firepower that was. He was about to turn that rowboat into spare parts! Mirage attempted to speak, it coming out as numerous nervous mumbles until he saw the sprays of water going towards the boat. It was like he was trying to spray a cat for being disobedient, and it calmed Mirage's nerves a lot as he'd expected something much worse.

Figuring they had a moment to continue their conversation as he applied the deterrent, Mirage had to take his opportunity to learn more about this venture of theirs. "S-So, King Bowser. What could make you guys go to a place as dangerous as the Bottomless Sea?" He questioned, figuring if he understood their goals better, maybe he'd have a better chance of managing to be brought along on this venture. A group like this... It'd be a lot better than traveling around alone, for sure. Safer, too. And if they actually made it back from the Bottomless Sea, who was to say how far they might travel afterwards? This was a chance to see farther than he'd ever seen before, and that was something the man didn't think he could pass up on.

Having cut through with Jordan to reach Charlie, he was glad to be able to witness the last few moments of their little Ranger sis kicking some ass. He paused for a brief moment, placing a hand on Jordan's shoulder to keep her from rushing into the slash attack like a madwoman and pointing to the finishing blow the Purple Ranger was making on her opposition. "Damn, she didn't need us at all. Maybe she has us both beat." He commented, ready to celebrate a victory as his hand slid off Jordan's shoulder, fist bumping Charlie as she "You know it. You've gotten better, too." He complimented, only to be interrupted by a menacing laugh. The Green Ranger eyed the area, looking for the threat, only to notice it was above. Instinctively, he brought himself in front of Charlie, in case it decided to jump down.

"Hostages.. Yellow-bellied bastard." Clint muttered, knowing he needed to get up there. But as the conversation went on, he was learning a little too much. The way this creature spoke of their friends deaths as a joke... His fists clenched, ready to fight at a moment's notice. But with him all the way up there, and the hostages, it made things tricky. Was everything they fought for really for nothing? He almost faltered, but shook himself out of it. They fought for peace, and for ten years... They had it. And if Clint had anything to say about it, their sacrifices wouldn't suddenly be in vain now. "Don't need more of us! I'll come up there and add some black to that blue!" He threatened, but with their current position... It came out as kind of empty.

His eyes peered over, hearing someone call to one of the hostages. His eyes widened, Clint wondering how the hell he didn't notice this huge woman prior. Actually, wait... Recollection struck him, and he did catch a glance of her earlier. She'd been outside earlier. Sticking around wasn't a great idea, but with friends around he could understand. This only motivated him to want to stage a rescue attempt more, however by the time that fully processed... They were gone. Shit.

Turning to Charlie as she exclaimed a swear of her own, he was confused by the idea of her having a Command Center. "First the morphers, now a base? You've been preparing for this, haven't you?" He questioned, having expected Charlie to move on for the most part. Of all of them, he hoped she would the most. She was younger, smart. Maybe because of that intelligence she kept wary... He was only finding more reasons to show her respect. Realizing the fight was over, Clint huffed out a sigh of relief as his suit disappeared in the same light that had engulfed him, the cowboy now standing there thinking of how they'd deal with the hostage situation.

Or at least he would've, if he wasn't startled by the tall girl coming over and questioning if they'd save the hostages. He would've spoken up, but the pink Power Crystal flew past his face close enough that he felt the breeze, eyes locking onto the sight of it choosing a new user for it's power. "Huh..." He was speechless, unsure if he should influence her decision, so he watched. As she accepted the crystal, a smirk crossed his face as he approached the emotional girl, glad he'd removed the suit as this probably made it less awkward for her. His expression was soft, up until she bit the Power Crystal.

"Heheheh..." He snickered, finding enjoyment in the sight, surprisingly enough. "I saw a lot of reactions when we first got these, but nobody bit one!" A hint of nostalgia washed over him, finding a bright light in this dark situation. He never thought he'd have to raise his arm to plant a hand on someone's shoulder, but this girl was definitely an exception to the rule. "Ya don't got to chip a tooth on it, though." He explained, lifting his other arm to show her the Morpher on his wrist. "Just gotta get you set up with one of these! Though, that's Charlie's department." He added, glancing back at the hugely contrasting short girl to confirm her identity, before lowering the arm with his Morpher and focusing back on who the Power Crystal chose to be a new Pink Ranger.

"Name's Clint. Better get yours, too: Because it looks like you'll be helping answer your own question." Regardless, Clint would do all he could to save those hostages. But if she was going to be joining them, then this would be a perfect drive for her. She could help, too. Though they'd need to make sure she was ready. Along with the other two, Black and Red...

It wasn't the same team, but a team was getting together. He planned to make sure it bloomed into a successful one.

Yeah, it totally makes sense. The skills transfer a bit, but like you said.. Never been in an actual fight. Which says a lot about her as a person, too. I'm sure we can turn her into a lean, mean, obscenely tall Druidon-ass-kicking machine. =w=

MENTIONS: Bowser(& Rika, extremely briefly) @DracoLunaris

Elliot blinked in response to a girl peeking over the railing at him, and probably would have said more to try and make the situation more clear, but it couldn't be that easy. He swore his heart stopped momentarily as he heard a loud complaint from... Above? His gaze went higher, realizing there wasn't one ship here, but two! And this second one was in the air! If he wasn't frozen in fear from the loud grumbling complaint he just heard, he might've gushed about the flying ship and how it'd feel to sail in the sky! But, no. Now wasn't the time for something like that.

He spotted someone on the ship, not getting a great sight of the guy as he was all the way up there, while Elliot was on the ground. He was told to wait, and would. If that was because he was being polite or because he was still scared wasn't for anyone but him to truly know. "S-Sure!" He replied back, his feet were practically rooted anyways, so he might as well just wait for the guy.

'Wow, look at it go!' He thought to himself, a small smile managing to creep onto his face momentarily as he saw the ship begin to maneuver in the air. This smile quickly faded as he realized that they weren't just flying around, they were landing. And they were landing very very close to his location. This was mildly concerning to say the least, and the man wasn't exactly sure if staying put like he was told was as good of an idea anymore. He held the egg close, trying to dispel some discomfort as he hoped this was a friendly encounter.

He finally got a better view at the man that spoke a few moments ago, as he stomped off the flying ship. He looked like some sort of admiral, or other person of authority with his getup. Too bad he forgot the pants, though. Really jarring with clothes everywhere else, but considering he was some sort of strange... Turtle-lizard? The man in yellow wasn't about to make remarks. He was the odd one out here, and didn't come to purposefully or accidentally start picking fights. His body became a bit less tense as the clothed turtle-guy spoke.

His tone was casual, as was his approach after stomping off the boat. This would have kept the man calm, had it not been for the title in front of Bowser's name. 'A KING? What the hell did I just walk into?' He thought, before attempting to explain the situation in a less alerting manner.

"Mirage." He introduces himself quickly, putting on the game name. Much easier to ham it up under that persona, if necessary. He took a deep breath, preparing himself to give a calm but slightly long-winded explanation. "Well, it's not a full-fledged boat like that one," He gestures towards Shippy, wincing again at those teeth and noticing it seemed to be slowing down? "I think it's just an animal? It was eating fish, and feeding what I guess was it's kid. I was just glancing at it from the shore, and it gave me a pretty nasty look. Just wasn't sure if it'd get protective if it saw your ships getting too close and thought I'd say something to keep people out of harm's way." Mirage figured neither party had to get hurt in this situation, though he had no idea what sort of intentions these folks had. "-- Also saw a big gush of scalding water blast out of the lake, so I figured your folks on the water might want to avoid getting that splashed all over them. Just, uh, wanted to give some caution to fellow travelers!"

Fellow travelers? Well, he didn't exactly know what they were doing out here. Maybe it was a good idea to ask? Or a bad one, didn't you get executed for questioning Kings? Not like he came out with guards, so he seemed like a pretty personal guy. Maybe it'd work out. "Ah, maybe it's bad to assume your reason for being here Bow--" Pausing at his almost slip up, he corrected himself very quickly. "King Bowser! I'm sure you've got good reasons." He couldn't actually bring himself to straight-up ask, which just lead to him awkwardly beating around the bush. He mentally lectured himself, a little embarrassed. 'Great job, Witt. Make yourself look like a moron in front of a King!'
