Dimitri Megalos
Minos

"They say I'm as strong as a bull, but I know I am much more.
— Dimitri

NAME
Megalos, Dimitri

GENDER
Male

AGE
15 - 04/06

NATIONALITY
Greek

APPEARANCE
Height:Five Feet, Eight Inches

Weight:135lbs

[indent]Fashion Sense:Simple farm clothes, very patchwork. Dimitri fixes his clothes himself and tried to wear them for as long as they'll hold together. /indent]
Distinguishing Features:His hair is almost always covering his eyes, but always seemed to be able to see despite this.

PERSONALITY
Strong will, soft heart, but not always the most witty or tactful. Dimitri is a very direct kind of person, and believes that people deserve to know the truth with a smile. He's outspoken and positive almost to a fault, but will always stand by his decisions no matter the cost.

HISTORY
Dimitri grew up in a small but comfortable farm in Greeze. He was taught by his mother and raised to work by his father. As a single child, he had all of the affection he could ever want from them, and worked hard to make sure that he earned it. The news of quirks was still young and fresh in everyone's minds when Dimitri developed his. His father didn't bear a quirk, but he inherited his from his mother. Growing horns, a tail, and being stronger than ten men before he could even multiply, his parents knew that it was a sign from the gods that Dimitri was blessed with this gift.
The farmork got much easier after his quirk developed, but there was never a shortage of things to do. The farm expanded, more could be done in less time, and their harvest was plentiful. But... they all knew that Dimitri's world was so much bigger than this.

The news came to him on his birthday. He would be leaving Greece to attend one of the new schools dedicated to teaching people with gifts, or Quirks like his own. Dimitri, though he knew he would miss his parents dearly, knew he could not pass up this offer to continue his life and make something of himself. He could put his gifts to use. He could even save people. Before the night was over, he was hard at work, trying to learn japanese so he wouldn't be too far behind his classmates.

The goodbye was just as tearful as the news about the school. Dimitri almost missed his flight. He would talk to his parents every night, send them pictures, write them letters. He promised he would do as much to not grow apart.

QUIRK
Short Quirk explanation: Minotaur - For all intents and purposes, Dimitri has the powers of the mighty minotaur. Enhances strength and durability, horns on his head, a prehensile tail, and even a unusually keen nose.

In depth Quirk Details***: Dimitri's quirk allows him to bench press nearly 750lbs and leg press 900lbs. The prehensile tail is all but useless, given its size, and does little more than swat away flies. Due to the fact that he can lift and move so much, Dimitri requires an absurd amount of calories a day in order to keep fatigue at bay. Due to his strength, he can leap incredibly high, though he doesn't have the dexterity to make a safe landing for himself.

Quirk Development***: I don't plan on the quirk itself developing or changing that much aside from how strong he is, but I might give him the lesser known quality of blowing hot steam from his nose. The plan is more or less for Dimitri to use his strength in more creative ways than having his power be improved.

Sector 2814

He still didn't understand it. Why were the guardians so fixed on him going to earth? Killowog? Did they seem to think that it would have some sort of special place in his heart as the homeland of his father? He brushed off the thought. Never before had be been to earth, but after what had been declared a rather lackluster performance during training, they were sending him to a low priority planet in order to get his bearings.

His mother, laughing at what the guardians at told him, wished him luck on his journey. She had duties to attend to on Vespasi. Despite this, he didn't travel with nothing.

He carried some artifacts, notes that his father had on other guardians of Earth. It wasn't much. The notes were like a journal that had just been started. Only a few names and details lay inside, but it would have to do for now. At least until he found himself.

Preston, we are nearing Sector 2814, cluster AS-740, Sol System, Earth

The ring he wore on his finger glowed bright as it spoke to him. His fist tightened, but he showed no signs on hesitance.

As he had expected, the blue planet had seen some better days, but it was quite obvious that it was still being inhabited. Scans indicated breathing life on the planet, as well as life in the upper atmosphere.

Preston slowed. It would be better to announce his presence than fly in and be attacked by the government.

His right hand rose to his mouth, speaking into his ring like a communicator. "Ring, broadcast on open signals, nearby ones. I don't want to invade anyone's leisure time."

It blinked once, but he never spoke. He had to remind himself, this was like other planets. Earth was apparently much more isolated compared to somewhere like Vespasi. Given the lack of satalites and stations further than Mars, it was likely they hadn't developed travel beyond their own star system, much less likely outside of this cluster.

High radiation levels detected.

Something outside of the atmosphere was incredibly dangerous, as the levels read. He should investigate it before it hit the earth.

Much to his surprise, it appeared to be a man. Or, something upright and bipedal like himself. He was on the side of a space station, politely knocking on the air hatch. He was dressed, even. How strange were his first minutes on this Earth.

"Excuse me." Preston spoke suddenly. "I don't believe that humans can breathe in space. Can I ask what you're doing here?"
Oh, you’re putting starfire in NYC? That’s gonna be fun
ah, the iron furry is here

Biography---------

Character History/Origin: Preston Westfield was born on his mother's homeworld, Vespasi. He always stood out, from the moment he was born. Despite his mother being a full blooded Vaspasian, and one of the finest warriors the planet had seen, Preston himself was not. His father, Morgan Westfield, was a human through and through. Despite what the Vespasian people thought of Preston, his ambitions were much higher than his home.

His father was a Green Lantern, the protector of their sector of space, and a legendary hero in the cosmos. Why Morgan had left earth so long ago to pursue a life in the stars, Preston didn't know, but he always heard the stories of the Wondrous Emerald Knight. Morgan was once a hero of earth, and apparently was a champion serving along side like minded others. He knew the stories, he knew many of the Green Lanterns. Hell, Morgan had even snuck Preston onto Oa once to see the sights.

The Vespasian people were fierce warriors, not unlike the Romans or the Spartans of earth. Armed with both the wisdom of their ancestors and cutting edge technology, the Vespasian people thrived and intertwined themselves with technology, allowing for hybrid children like Preston to exist in the first place. Preston was a mighty warrior like his mother, and had the cunning and will of his father. His teenage years were brash, reckless, and without regret.

The death of Morgan Westfield was one shrouded in mystery. One day, the Power Ring arrived on Vespasi, searching out Preston. He and his mother were distraught, but the honor of succeeding his father was something he could not ignore or deny, even in mourning. He accepted the ring and came to Oa, desperate for answers. However, the answers never came. The Guardians of the Universe were shifty on the details of Morgan's death, and refused to be direct with Preston lest he fall to a path like his Godfather Sinestro. Preston would have to find things out himself.

But before he could hunt the cosmos for the answers he craved, he was handed his ass in training. His personal desires clouded his mind, leaving him unable to perform at the high standards his late father had unknowingly put before him. There was only one logical solution to the problem. Send him to Earth.

The other Green Lanterns could handle a little more territory than normal, at least until Preston had his bearings and was up to par. For now, Preston was bound for Earth, ready to train and prove to everyone that he is deserving of his father's mantle and the knowledge of what happened to him.

Optional information
----------
Nemesis:

Hope Corgi - A little quadrapedal creature who was gifted a blue Lantern Ring. The little thing serves somewhat as a mentor and a caretaker to Preston, and though he himself would not admit it, Preston greatly enjoys the company he provides.
Team: Green Lantern Core
Other: Morgan Westfield Preston's father. The recently deceased Green Lantern has been the Talk of the Corps, mainly due to the fact that nobody knows how it happened. The ring reported his death, and that was that. Morgan, years and years ago, went by the name Emerald Knight during his first few years as Green Lantern, wanting his own name outside of the corps. By the time Morgan grew fond of the Green Lantern name, he was already a well established hero on his home planet, and couldn't really change it.
Alright, Stripe, it should be done for now, I'll add a few more things to it, but it's mainly just the standard GL strength and body enhancements
