Good news, I'm not failing out of my cooking course tomorrow! Bad news, it's only because I nearly sliced a chunk off my finger practicing for it and needed stitches.

Jeremy Lindall

Jeremy would've been lying if he said he wasn't at least somewhat put off by the reaction he got from the young woman he'd tried to talk to. He'd had a few thoughts of how it might go in his head, but he hadn't expected the first initiate he introduced himself to to outright pretend they didn't hear him. However, the slight irritation was pushed down, as he tried to think about it more reasonably. Perhaps something he'd said or done during his introduction had been considered rude amongst witches? God knows the two witches he'd spent the majority of his time with would never have pointed them out if they were.

Of course, simply thinking of those same two witches reminded him that he couldn't discount the idea that she was just messing with him.

He started leaning towards that second option when another initiate responded to his greeting. This one was thankfully far friendlier, although he did ask if he knew they weren't the elders. Naturally, he definitely did know this, having ensured that this was the initiates table before approa-

"Ah. I was too formal." He said quietly, more to himself than anyone else. Hannah had told him he had a tendency for that. He'd ignored her of course, as she was an embodiment of chaos whose idea of 'too formal' was anything less than complete anarchy. Perhaps he should have followed her advice a little more often after al-No. He couldn't let himself be lured away from the path of common sense just because she'd shown one example of sound judgement. Instead, he pushed the thoughts down and turned back to the young man, nodding as he offered to introduce him to some of their fellow initiates.

"Oh, thank you. That would be very helpf-"

And then he was cut off, as the initiate he'd first tried to speak to suddenly decided he was interesting enough to bother responding to, introducing herself as Summer. Thankfully, despite how it had seemed like she was ignoring him before, she was actually rather friendly now. Maybe she really hadn't realised he was talking to her... If so, then he actually felt a little bit bad about his earlier assessment of her. Perhaps it would be better to set aside any first impressions, wait until he'd had a little more time to figure out what kind of people they were. He did begin to wonder just how much of what she was saying was genuine when she forgot the nationality of one of the other initiates she 'knew everything about', a young man named Charlie, but it was possible she just didn't have the best memory...

After Summer, another initiate introduced themselves as Kate, claiming to be a potioneer, which was interesting. He had been interested in learning more about alchemy, but he'd never really had the chance, most of the other witches he dealt with focusing more on other areas of magic. He'd have to speak to her about that at some point.

"Thank you. It's nice to meet you all as well." He said, before turning to Summer. "Yes, I am completly new to this coven.. I did speak to a few of your senior witches during my transfer, but today is the first time I've actually been here."

He would have continued, but then the Head of the coven, Sister Deborah if he recalled correctly, began her speech. All in all, he agreed that it was rather good, and while not particularly formal, it was still a great deal better than the 'meetings' he'd grown accustomed too back in Oregon. He was a little concerned that he only had ten minutes until the initiation though. That wasn't enough time to really eat much of anything, so it might just be better to wait until after it was over.

He was brought back from his thoughts however, as he felt a tap on his shoulder, and turned to see another of the initiates, introducing herself as Calypso Barnes. He was confused when she brought up the name tag for each seat, as his had definitely been at this seat, but found himself struck by sudden confusion when he looked where she was pointing and saw that, just as she'd said, the nametag now had her name on it.

"That is... very strange. I could have sworn it said my name just before..." He said slowly, before getting up from the seat. "Either way, I'm sorry for taking your seat. My name is Jeremy Lindall, and I can only assume that this was part of some kind of prank..."

He sighed at that last realisation. He had hoped that moving to this new coven would, if nothing else, help him escape the constant pranks he had been subjected to at the hands of Hannah and her father... Perhaps, even if he didn't focus his entire opinion of each person around them, it might be wise to at least keep those first impressions of everyone in mind after all...

Joseph

If Joseph was going to be honest, he was actually a little embarrassed. How long had it been so hard to run this much? He used to be able to run like this... well, not without breaking a sweat, but it'd been easier than this. Clearly, he'd been spending too much of his spare time working on his runes and not enough on cardio. He must've ended up neglecting it, because it wasn't like he was unfit... Or maybe that was just another of the many excuses he'd spent the last few years making.

Either way, the point was that when Blake asked him to help Angie with the pain from her bullet wound, he had been doubled over, literally wheezing. It was miserable. Pathetic, even.

However, eventually he managed to regain control of his muscles long enough to nod, wandering over to the woman and applying a number of tags around the injury. It wouldn't heal the injury, that was a job for the real medics, but it would numb the pain enough that she wouldn't have to be too miserable during the time it took them to get there. As he moved to do the same to Tom, he was distracted by who he now recognized as the Vinster himself.

The fact that he saw any features to recognize in the first place was a little odd, as it was fairly dark out. Also, the man had recently been reduced to charcoal. However, considering who they were dealing with, he quickly remembered why he really shouldn't be too surprised. Instead, after glancing at Tom and realising that, at least for the moment, his injuries didn't look too bad for him to leave, he turned his focus back to the giant glaring at them through the hole in his wall.

However, no sooner had he reached for his runes that Blake rushed through the hole, fireball in hand, and was immediately caught and beat the crap out of him. With that, he decided to change his tactics and try to free his friend from the gangsters clutches, but was once again interrupted by a brief but intense feeling of dizziness lethargy, and looked to see Patricia singing to Vincent, trying to command him to stop.

It took him a moment or two to regain his balance, but that was enough time for Vinnie to recover, sending the poor girl flying with a brutal backhand. For a moment, he turned to check on her, before immediately realising he had made the mistake of turning his back on his enemy. Quickly spinning back to face the criminal, it was only to see Blake had jumped on him, and when he'd finally been thrown off to give Joseph the opening he needed, he found himself on even higher alert as the mobster was surrounded by a red mist. However, this quickly turned out to be their salvation, having been produced by a young woman to trigger some form of anaphylaxis Vinnie had apparently had, killing him.

Before long, the situation was over, and Joseph could only ponder how little he'd actually done. That and try to take care of the others. Patty was already up and moving again, so at least she wasn't in too urgent a state. Instead he turned his attentions to Grace, whose hand had been injured, and Tom, who was currently passed out. Thankfully, Grace's only really bad injury was her hand, so a few tags wrapped around the wrist was all he really needed to numb her pain. Tom was a little more difficult, as he had ended up pretty beaten up, with less serious injuries, but scattered across his body. It took a few minutes to take care of, during which Chris had arrived with reinforcements, and eventually Joseph managed to finish applying the last one just as Tom woke up.

"Oh, nah, don't worry about it. I didn't really end up helping that much, but I can at least do this for you guys who did."

At that point, he walked over to Patty, who had just finished speaking with Chris from the looks of it.

"Hey Patty, is your face feelin' ok?" He asked, holding up a couple of runes. "I can put some of these on if you want. Should stop any pain you'll still be feeling, like that time at the wedding. You probably won't need to worry about getting anything from my blood this time though!"

He tried to sound less glum than he actually felt as he spoke to her. He was far from the best people person, true, but he didn't really need to be to see that what had happened today was eating at her. So he tried to distract her from it a little. Whether it got her calmed down, laughing at how she'd reacted to his blood being used for runes, or even annoyed at the memory and thinking he was an idiot, at least that was brain power that wasn't going towards thinking about what a miserable experience she'd been going through.

He may have realised he wasn't good enough to be a mentor in any way, but if nothing else, he could at least do this as a friend.

Jeremy Lindall

Honestly, Jeremy was a little worried about how today would go...

This wasn't so much out of fear for whatever trials he might face during the induction itself. No, he'd put in the work to make sure that that would go as smoothly as he possibly could. When he wasn't busy training with Argo, Hannah, or Ashleigh, he had busied himself with the task of relentless creation and enchantment of various charms, tools, and other useful items, so he could be ready for whatever might be thrown at him. That... and working on his 'deep water' issues...

No, what he was worried about was the other initiates. He'd heard that all of them would probably already know each other at some level, having already been affiliated with the coven for some time now, if not since birth. Compared to that, he was an outsider, and from what Hannah tended to tell him, one with something of a... grating... personality... Of course, it was entirely possible this was because of her own, usually painfully immature personality, but he was still well aware how he tended to appear to some. Therefore, he decided that the only course of action was to try and bury any initial judgment and try to make a good first impression.

With these thoughts in mind, he carefully made sure he was wearing a proper smile as he approached the initiates table, an expression which definitely didn't look odd, out of place, or downright unsettling when he attempted it. After a few seconds of looking, he found his seat and sat down. True, it was a little bit concerning that his seat didn't have a plate, but neither did the seat next to him, so maybe something was going on. There was also the fact that many of the chairs next to him remained empty, but maybe other people were just late? Surely he wasn't already being pranked... right?

Well, even if he was, he wouldn't let it get to him. He'd just have to work hard enough to earn their respect through hard work, and do his best to not let their behavior get to him. Instead of dwelling on the topic, he turned to the closest initiate, a red haired girl sitting across from him.

"Hello." He said, trying his best to look friendly. "I'm Jeremy Lindall. I was sent to join this coven as an initiate this year by my teachers. It's nice to meet you. I hope we can work well together."

There, that wasn't too bad right? He kept the introduction short, and quickly got to the point in his explanation of why he was there. What more could anyone want?

Joseph

Joseph had been getting steadily more worried for a little while now.

At first, it had just been because he may or may not have fallen asleep briefly while Az drove, and had woken up at some point during the closing lines of what had apparently been a pretty hefty talk. However, now it was a little more serious than just trying to pretend he knew what he'd said. From the little bit he'd heard after waking up, it sounded like he was worried about something slowly taking him over. Whether what he was talking about was just his own repressed emotions, or some deeper, more sinister facet of his own powers, Joseph wasn't sure.

Already, he could see it in the boy's behavior. The way he moved seemed... tenser, maybe? As if something was welling up inside him, waiting for a chance to be released. These concerns only grew when Joseph noticed Az's skin, which had begun to glow as they descended into the darkness.

Before long, he found himself running behind Az down a tunnel, the sounds of battle clear ahead. For a brief moment, Joseph heard him whisper something to himself, before quickly accelerating to a sprint.

"Damn it!" He grunted to himself, before trying to catch up with the demonic boy. Something was driving the kid, pushing him beyond what Joseph was able to keep up with. What he would've been able to keep up with even if he wasn't drunk. Still, he pushed himself as hard as he could, managing to arrive in the warehouse not too long after him.

Right in time to watch him send a literal cloud of death at a number of mafia members, wiping them out.

This was bad... Joseph knew that, even if they were their enemies, Az was clearly not in his right mind just from that. When he came back to his senses, the memories of his actions were going to hit him hard. As he got closer, he watched Blake running further into the warehouse, and from the looks of it, he was going alone. While he wanted to stick around and make sure Az didn't lose himself any more than he already had, if someone didn't go to back Blake up, he could die. So, Joseph was forced to make a decision.

Running over to Azhar, he pulled out a few runes, one of which being significantly different to the others in appearance.

"Az, listen carefully. These three runes here are necrotic. Use them to heal you if you get too beat up. And this one," he said, holding up the different rune, "this one should help you if you slip any further. I need to go make sure Blake stays safe, but I can already see that you aren't yourself. If this gets any worse, promise me you'll use it, ok?"

Without waiting for an answer, he ran to join Blake, falling into step behind him as they made their way into the mansion proper. He still didn't understand the situation all too well, but what he did understand was that if whoever these idiots were were planning to hurt his friends, they were in for a particularly miserable surprise...
Ok, I've finally got Jeremy here. I've been writing and rewriting it in bits and pieces over the last eightish days I think, so tell me if it's disjointed garbage or anything like that. It's also nearly 3:30 now, so sorry to whoever reads this and tries to make sense of whatever I'm saying. Anyway here he is.

Argo was surprised to see just how many people had arrived for the quest. From what Nivaan had said, he'd only really been expecting two or three other people, but it was beginning to look like quite the team here. While this was most likely a good thing, Argo couldn't help but be a little nervous. After all, there were a lot of new people he'd have to talk to now...

Still, he put that from his mind as the gnome, Wilben, introduced himself, and started asking the others to do the same. The beastfolk woman, Meeka, seemed friendly enough. Her hunting skills would likely help out significantly when the time came to actually fight, although he did frown a bit when she mentioned her father going to do the paperwork to set up their stall in the marketplace. He'd been under the impression that this quest would mostly involve travelling rather than staying in Chrana, otherwise he probably wouldn't have joined in the first place...

These thoughts quickly faded from his mind when he heard draconic of all things being spoken, and turned to see a small creature emerge from the oni womans clothes. He had already been starting to suspect it's identity, but his thoughts were confirmed when the woman, Eshima, introduced herself and the creature. This was extremely exciting, actually! He'd read about Tinker Imps before, but he'd never gotten the chance to see one up close. He'd have to find a chance at to speak either to Eshima or the creature itself some point. Speaking of whom, Eshima too seemed like a welcome addition to the group, even more than Meeka. From the sounds of it, she was most likely more experienced in the hunting of monsters than the wolf girl was, and along with her solid understanding of wilderness survival, it sounded like she'd at least be easier for him to talk to than most...

Before the next person, a swordsman who gave off an aura of stoicism, could introduce themselves, they were interrupted by a Gnoll man who decided to wait for the end to introduce themselves. They did however give away the identity of the swordsman, and the look the man sent him in return almost had Argo subconsciously reaching for his rifle. Thankfully however, he managed to restrain that instinct before it made the transition from thought to action. Equally fortunately, the swordsman apparently managed to do the same on his own end, and went on to introduce himself as Yuuris. Though, like many, Argo had heard rumours of the Stonehearted Hunter before, he decided to set any initial judgement aside and wait to see the mans own merits before figuring out his opinion on him. He did frown slightly at the idea that he might turn his blade on them if they got too close during a fight. Even if it was unintentional as he said, it would still be fairly dangerous. Perhaps he could show him some of the techniques he'd learnt in the war to avoid that kind of thing.

Next was the woman from Xin Lu, Shuyi. From the sounds of it, she would be less helpful in the areas of monster hunting than most of the others so far, but the poster on the noticeboards did ask for cooks as well, so he supposed she would still be quite helpful, at least in the areas where those were necessary. And, like Meeka, she seemed rather friendly as well, if maybe a little more formal than most people he met.

The cat on her lap, which was apparently Yuuris's, was also rather interesting, possibly due to the fact that it was blue. He assumed from this that it might be some kind of spirit, likely the one he'd heard the rumours about when he first entered the city. That would be another thing he'd have to ask when he found the time...

At that point, he came close to panicking for a moment as he realised that it was his turn now, but as he was trying to figure out how to start, he was interrupted by another newcomer, a young woman with a sizable sword on her back and a peppy attitude entered the room, apologizing for running late and introducing herself as Yumi. From the sounds of it, she was quite skilled at both food preparation and hunting, which made her a good all rounder for what the job had been asking. His nose did wrinkle slightly when he opened the flask she'd handed him, as despite what may tended to assume from his appearance, he wasn't especially much of a beer drinker, but he had to admit that the brewing abilities she described would most likely be fairly useful as well.

And then, once more, it was his turn. And, as usual, his mind was trying desperately not to panic as he introduced himself to his new teammates.

"I am Argo Lecht." He said, the stoic rumble of his voice far from accurately conveying his current nervousness. "I am an ex-soldier, and currently a wanderer. I am skilled with many forms of weaponry, but prefer a rifle, and I am talented in surviving and finding my way through the wilderness. I also greatly enjoy the study and observation of the many species of monsters in the world, as well as spirits. I am a passable cook."

And then he sat back down. There! Done! That was a good response, right? Nice and efficient, but also open enough about things like hobbies that anyone who was interested could start a conversation out of it!

Meanwhile, Nivaan watched the events taking place in the meeting room through his mirror with a chuckle. He had expected a worse introduction from his old friend, so to see that he'd managed even just that was a pleasant surprise. However, he still decided that it would be best to wait and see if anymore else was planning to appear and sign up at the last minute. Besides, there were still a few more minutes before the meeting was officially supposed to begin.
Oop, sorry, I thought it was an unexpiring one. Here’s a new link that should hopefully last forever.

@Ryonara
Hey yo, almost didn't see this, but it looks pretty good! We might need to just talk about aspects of the alchemy though, and probably a bit about the Yozakura-Kai and how it fits into the world, so yeah, head onto the discord when you get the chance. Otherwise yeah! Move it to the character tab, and you might just need to alter things a little bit later. Again though, shouldn't be too much of a change.
Wow what is this rp I've never heard of before and have no knowledge of? It sounds interesting...
