Looks like it was temporary, I'm back guys. Sorry for disappearing was hard being here without Orch. Still is really.

Bio

I'm a 28 year old guy from Middle of Nowhere, USA. Nearest town of any size is nearly 30 minutes from where I live I now live in a slightly-larger-than-small-town I now live in an actually decent sized town. I spend most of my free time on a free to play Magic the Gathering client where I'm a mod and judge but I do still spend a little bit everyday on here. I now spend most of my free time working on my own creative endeavors which includes the media review podcast Copilots Review of which I am one half of. And basically spend no time on here. I have however not been overly active as of late on here. Anyways I've been roleplaying for about 15 years now, getting my start in tabletops and only recently joined the ranks of forum roleplay about 9 years ago. That said I love RPing, Magic the Gathering and music.

If anyone needs to reach me off the guild I'm very reachable on Kik at rawrespada4 and at my hotmail... which you guessed it is rawrespada4@hotmail.com. Honestly if you see a rawrespada4 somewhere it's probably me, this is my username for just about everything so feel free to say hey if you me somewhere. Best bet to reach me off guild now days though is on discord where my user is Rawrespada4 #0581.

@Lady Amalthea Thanks for the advice, placing limits on myself, forcing myself to be on here even when it hurts is something I haven't really tried. I have mainly been coming back whenever I felt strong enough to handle it, which only seemed to work for a couple months at a time before I inadvertently found myself once again spiraling and distancing myself from the Guild.
The gist of this post is I'm wondering if anyone here has lost someone that was pivotal to there enjoyment of The Guild and if so how they moved on and managed to continue rping.

I'm posting because this is obviously something I'm currently dealing with and I don't know how to get through it. Really this post is kind of a desperate last grasp at trying to find some way to continue roleplaying on here because I do love this site and have really fond memories. My loss really isn't recent. My best friend, Orchestratic, and the person who introduced me to forum roleplaying, passed away 2 and half years ago this week but ever since his death I've found it near impossible to stay on here without dipping into bouts of depression. See other than him I didn't really have friends on here, my brother played but he has pretty much abandoned ship since we lost our friend. So now I'm pretty much alone on here and I don't have anyone to share the joys of roleplaying with.

See it didn't really matter if Orch and I were in the same game or not a lot of our enjoyment from roleplaying came from being able to talk about and discuss the characters and worlds we were playing in. We both kept up with each other's games and it was our conversations that breathed life into our characters and was a big drive in the roleplaying itself. Now even though he was a big part of forum roleplaying for me I did find enjoyment in the it separately from him and occasionally I can still tap into that. It's just my enjoyment from roleplaying comes and goes without much warning and when I'm not enjoying it this site is actually painful to be on. The thing is I don't want to lose this style of roleplaying, or this site but I don't know how to go about being on here when sometimes it literally causes me to breakdown and cry.

Anyway I'm only asking now because it's going on three years and I don't want to lose the guild, both because I really do enjoy it and because it's a very real connection to my deceased friend so if anyone has any advice or even their own stories to share I'd greatly appreciate it.

EDIT: for clarification going forward Orchestratic was my irl best friend, he just also happened to be my gateway into forum roleplay.
LOL, uni-mind at work @RawrEspada4

Indeed as soon as I saw Jay's question I was like Alexus just did a recap didn't they? that should be perfect
@Furiosa

Aye. Think I can do that.

So first was mainly setting the scene Sunday.
Sunday afternoon, autumn.

We introductions firstly. 4-5 characters attended old Starboard. Abit of interaction and details introduced about the perfect posse, Marlin flying and her job at deadalus, max and his flight company plus his worried, Ren and his medical and family issues. Keighley introduced as a student/commodities trader.

We also had several other charecters introduced outside old Starboard. A journalist and writer following up a story in south side, a mechanic and his life, also for shadowing the grand prix slightly. Xia headed to coffee shop, mostly wandering the city.

Late time skip people hinted at jazz evening and led on there ways.

...

Second time skip opened with the jazz event start.
Marlin and Victoria are reading Ren abit.

A journalist has aproached them and come uncomfortablely close to their fathers business.

Xia, Ren and Lormax are at the event for jazz evening and a few starts of interactions are planted.

The main event you'll want to go to if want to meet most characters is the jazz evening.

Joel the mechanic is at a nearby location and remarking about hating jazz. Theirs anothet hint at grand prix. Also a somewhat up town, down town reference alla Greece seems to be growing their.

At current. Your best bet to meet most characters is the jazz evening.
@TwelveOf8

@Jay Kalton story wise this should catch you up but otherwise the games been pretty open. @PrinceAlexus or @Pilatus might have something more to add though.

Also hi.
@Ebil Bunny no worries, was really just more concerned about if you were around than anything else.
It's a total non-issue for me, tags just make it easier to interact with other characters.

This is the staff for Footsteps @Pilatus and @PrinceAlexus, I'm working on finding fitting pictures for everyone right now.
Tommy Lomax

Location: Footsteps Sports Bar, Sunday

Footsteps was hopping, as it was most Sundays. The first kickoff of the day had been at eleven in the morning and last game didn’t end until a quarter til ten. And as it was with most Sundays that meant that the bar was packed from just after doors opened and until they were locked at eleven. Tommy had been planning on spending the afternoon running some errands and stopping by Luna Sports but unfortunately his plans had shifted suddenly when Laura, one of the waitresses, had been forced to call out after her babysitter canceled on her. This instead meant that Tommy was filling in on the wait staff for the afternoon and evening, not that he minded too much as the unpredictability of the bar was one of his favorite aspects of it. After the place was locked up and the staff had departed for the night Tommy gave the bar a once over and made sure the place was ready for the next day.

Location: Old Harbour, Late Sunday Night

After a busy day Tommy found himself relaxing in the living room of his Westwood drinking his preferred drink, a simple run and coke. Tommy often spent his late nights in a similar manner to this. Tonight Tommy was pairing his drink with some low volume music, mostly Ghost. It was a simple way to spend his night but it was a good way to relax. It was so relaxing in fact that Tommy found himself falling asleep right there in his recliner.

Location: still Old Harbour, Monday Morning

It had been relaxing when he had been sitting in the chair, listening to music and drinking but now that he was waking up having slept there for the last seven or so hours it was the exact opposite. Standing up from the chair Tommy could feel his back popping as the kinks attempted to work themselves, more importantly though he could feel his left knee attempting to give out on him. Looking around he couldn’t find his cane, falling back into his chair it was only a few seconds until he realized that he had somehow forgotten it in his car the night before. Navigating his way through the boat using the walls and furniture to keep himself from falling he made his to the bedroom where after some struggling and rooting around in the closet before he eventually found his other cane. Limping around the boat Tommy set about his morning routine, but at about three quarter the normal speed. Once he was finally dressed and ready for the day it was time to make the hobble out to the parking lot.

Location: Sol City, Monday Evening

After spending the afternoon at Footsteps, making sure everybody came in and that they were ready for the evening rush Tommy had excused himself for the rest of the evening, leaving instructions with Ellie to lock up at the end of the night. He hadn’t really decided what he was going to do with this rare autumn night off when he had left the bar but he had decided he didn’t want to spend the day stuck in his office or working on his bad leg. After he had pulled out of the parking lot at Footsteps he swung by The Coffee Pot, his second time there that day, to top off on his thermos. While waiting at the counter to get his coffee he noticed a flier on the counter that he had missed that morning. It advertised the Monday Night Blues and Jazz at Swan Songs, it was a reoccurring event in Sol City but Tommy had never actually stopped by for the show. With his evening free and not having any other plans Tommy left from The Coffee Pot and got on the freeway heading towards Riverside. As he pulled onto the freeway, looking at the display on his car’s dash he knew he was going to miss the opening of the show but on the upside he was already dressed to meet the requirements.
@PrinceAlexus alright I'll get the npcs up, wanna find them some pics first so that they feel a little more fleshed out.
Currently cranking out a post right now. But just wanted to say @PrinceAlexus and @Pilatus the map is amazing. The lay out is just great. Especially love how close Old Harbour (where Tommy lives) is so close to The Coffee Pot, Luna Sports and most importantly Footsteps.

Also on the note of Footsteps, I've put together a list of npcs with a bit of personality to act as staff of Footsteps and add a little flavor to Sol as a whole. Where would I post that?
