Gird thinks that's a fair trade
Goblin Gird
At the cave talking with Goblin Grandpa /// towards evening > Night // Day 3

The fast walk back to the cave was rather uneventful. He did stop for a moment again near the hollow tree to reapply the mud and maybe scavenge just a few more berries. But soon, the land scape slowly turned back into the patchwork of trails and light underbrush. For him this confirmed that his instinctual sense of direction wasn't off by too much and would only add to his confidence when out in the forest.

The goblin did notice a few others that woke up with him this morning heading back towards the cave. The others didn't look like they were banged up as bad as he was. His thoughts made him feel the injury at his side, the slight sting was a painful lesson. At least now he knew to be a bit more careful. "Come brothers!" he called out to no one in particular, "The night is fast approaching and our prey has gone to ground. Now we must rest for another day of hunting in the morning."

Goblin Gird was in high spirits although a bit sore with the ever lingering feeling of hunger at the back of his mind. A feeling that pushed him to do better and to take any opportunity to find food. The blueberries he found earlier where sweet and only a little sour. They helped to stifle his hunger as he walked. Now he still had things to do, first on this list was find that old goblin and ask him some questions, then train with this stick and his fists. He felt he needed to better train himself and become stronger, so he could help and survive.

It only took the young goblin a few minutes to eventually find that old goblin off by himself in the cave, "Goblin Grandpa. I have unfortunately returned without my hunting partner. Goblin Luz said she wanted to hunt a bit longer when I decided to head back, thought you should know." Gird looked around the cave for a moment before looking back to his elder. "I don't know about the others though but I do want to ask you something." again he paused as he took the rabbit fur cloak off.

"The first thing you told us was nothing in this world comes free. So I would like to trade you this fur for knowledge." he held out the Alpha horned rabbit pelt towards the elder. "The knowledge I seek is what creatures do you know of reside within this forest, where I can find them, and how do I hunt them?" straight forward and to the point, he wasn't trying to sugar coat his intentions. The goblin was simply trying to get a leg up in this world but not necessarily over the other goblins.

Girds on his way back so im good with what i got.
Goblin Gird
Heading back to the cave with Luz /// Mid afternoon > towards eavning // Day 3

The goblin smiled at Luz when she thanked him and the then complemented him. He would note it later that she showed concern for his injury. “I’ll be alright, just going to be sore for a bit.” Gird watched her closely as she left back to the tree to retrieve another stick for her spear. She seemed rather intuitive when it came to wrapping the horn on the spear and did seem rather happy he suggested it. With her thank you he smiled and nodded while wrapping the berry’s he had in some large leaves he would use to carry them in. He waited for another moment for her to get her things set before leading them deeper through the forest.

The next few hours of walking didn’t lead anything too promising. Other than tracks and animal trails this path didn’t lead to any new resources or to any more food. Occasionally Gird would stop for a moment at a clearing to glance at the sun. His instincts telling him to find shelter before it got too dark. “Hey hold up for a moment” he called to her stopping in a small clearing in the forest. “We should head back now, so we don’t get caught out here in the dark.”

He was glancing around while saying this and spotted a blue berry bush near them. He approached it and started picking the blue berry’s leaving the yellow and green ones as they were. The other berries where smaller, and they were not in the rabbits home when they inspected it. He spent a few minutes picking through the berries until his small pouch was full. He stopped for a moment again and glanced around. “So if you want to stay out here that’s fine. But, I’m going back to the cave.” His instincts were beginning to blare at him to hurry to safety, something about night spooked him a bit. The last thing he wanted was to return to that darkness. The goblin would wait for his companion if she chooses to come with him for a moment before following their tracks and trail back towards the cave.

I can only hope that it is alright.
Victor Asimov

Location: waiting on the recruits >>> At Camp Equinox airstrip

It wasn't long before some of the facility's personnel began making their way onto the VTOL. They didn't seem to say much just put their bags in the middle of the craft with the rest of the sophisticated gear and found a seat. Some talked amongst themselves while others did try to ask him and his leadership cadre questions. Receiving only silence and stern stares in return.

Once all the necessary personnel and equipment was on board the flight crew began their pre-flight inspection. The command cadre found their seats toward the front of the aircraft and stood at attention in front of their seats. Victor stepped up his hands folded neatly behind his back while his eyes drifted over the children and a few of the other facility personnel that would be joining them.

“Your attention please!” waiting for a moment for the children to settle down, “I would like to formally inform you of your acceptance into Special Operations for Applied Sciences, Task Force Golem.” He paused for a moment as he began to slowly pace back and forth in the front of the craft. “My name is Victor Asimov, you will address me as Asimov or Colonel I will be your commanding officer. You will address my command cadre as their last name or Lieutenant.” A short pause, “do you understand!”

He took the time to introduce each of the other officers who in turn stepped forward and then back to their original position. “We will be leaving shortly for Camp Equinox. Like you, this camp is a top secret facility. You are not to disclose your information to the other soldiers at this camp unless ordered too.” The tall man reached up and grabbed a handle as the four massive engines started spinning up. This prompted the man to put some ear muffs on with a mic and instructed the others to do the same.

Resuming with his speech while the VTOL shuttered and groaned with the added weight on takeoff. “The purpose of this move is to give you specialized military training. we will train you in how to hold and conduct yourself in a military manner. We will push you to your limits, we will break you down, and we will see how far you can go before we build you all back up into a respectable fighting force.” Asimov waited for the aircraft to level out before returning to his seat. “My self and the other instructors are not your friends, we are not your scientists. But we will keep you alive, we will make you stronger, we will make you better.” Sitting down and strapping himself in the man had one final comment, “follow your orders and you’ll be fine. The only thing we ask of you, is that you don’t quite.”

/////>>>>--- A few hours later ---<<<<\\\\\

The instructors had sat there quietly observing the kids during the flight. Occasionally whispering something or making some kind of gesture towards the other instructors. This was until the radio crackled to life with the voice of the pilots, “making our final approach now.” With that Que Victor stood and resumed his earlier position while holding onto another pipe above him. “When the cargo bay door opens you are to grab your gear and follow the flashing white lights to the barracks. There are multiple buildings. Those that are housed in barracks Alpha with me are as follows.” A small drop down visor appeared in blue over his left eye. “Trey Anders, Kiki Moondance, Beatrix Tanner, Fiore Alba, and Audra Hannon.” The man moved to the back of the VTOL when it landed and the other instructors called out names.

The Cargo bay door slowly lowered as the rotors slowed to a stop. “Everybody up!” Asimov motioned for them to stand, “now get your shit and get out! Move! Move! Move!” he was yelling at them. The cargo bay door opened up to cool afternoon air on a cloudy day. Thick pine forest expanded out for miles until climbing the steep slopes of tall snow caped mountains. The airstrip was clean but otherwise deserted. Stark concrete and metal structures cropped up to the north of the run way. Several jets and other military aircraft set quietly inside hangers and earthen bunkers on the opposite side of the runway. Flashing white lights guided the Birthed towards their new homes and what looked to be training grounds.
