Secret Identity:
Kar'a of House El, daughter of Zor-El and Alza. Much of her given name does not translate into terran languages. On Sol-III, Kar'a has a few aliases, chief among them the US native Kara Connors. (Or Kara Kent, depending.)

Status:
As a recent arrival to the planet, and still hiding in secret, Kara will begin Solo with the idea to at least get her as a Reservist if not an outright Active team member. 

Age:
Krypton exploded ~27 years before Clark hits Smallville (using Neil DeGrasse Tyson's math), say he dies around 35=62 years since Krypton exploded. Kara reaches Earth shortly after his death, she's 18 at the time of stasis...she's actually 80 years old, but is physically still 18 years old.

City:
Metrpolis, but given her abilities she can spring up almost anywhere in a relatively short amount of time.

Day Job:
College Student.

Powers:

Kara is, like Superman before her, a living solar battery. This unique makeup allows her the following powers:

-Superhuman speed
-Superhuman strength
-Superhuman durability
-Superhuman senses
-Super breath
-Heat vision

Weaknesses:

Vulnerable to various forms of Kryptonite, with green kryptonite having the most damaging effect on Kara.

Vulnerable to magic. 

Skills:

Kara is the product of the now lost civilization of Krypton's greatest schools, and the training from both her parents as well as her aunt and uncle. A genius level intellect with a wide array of skills.

She helped design, build, and program the vessels Kal-El and she used to escape Krypton's destruction. 

BRIEF Bio:

Kar'a of House El was born to an esteemed line, but one long past it's golden hours. Where House El had once been noteworthy for it's Science and Administration Caste members, too many generations had past without anything of note from House El. Some said this was starting to change with brothers Jor-El and Zor-El; both were well known in their fields, though both struggled to overcome the dwindled fortunes of House El. Political connections had been lost to both brothers, making their climb to renewed respectability all the more impressive.

And ensured their story, and the story of every Kryptonian, would end in tragedy.

If House El had retained it's prominence, maybe Kryptonian decision makers would have listened to Jor-El. Had Zor-El been convinced by his brother sooner of the coming end of times, something could have been. Something, anything. But nothing was done, for no one listened. When the universe gave signs of ruin no Kryptonian could dispute, it was already far too late. Krypton was in it's last twilight. 

Many young Kryptonians refused to accept it. Surely their futures were not gone already. Something could be done, anything? Some tried. Ero of House Rol, the most renowned mind of the Science Caste, became convinced of a universal doorway that could be constructed, and used to at least get some young Kryptonians off the surface. Individual craft, he argued, would never get enough Kryptonians off the surface to make a difference. Most would likely die in the long, A.I. directed, trip to whatever destination while the Kryptonian lay dormant in stasis. 

Where the renowned dismissed the idea, Jor-El and Zor-El became obsessed with it. All they needed, the brothers argued, was to get Kal and Kar'a off the planet. Kal was so young, and the trip so inherently dangerous, that Jor-El's wife nearly talked him out of sending the infant. But Kar'a promised she could look after him, and protect her infant cousin. The mission was finalized, construction and training for Kar'a began. It was then that Kar'a said saw many of her friends for the last time, saying farewells before retreating to Jor-El's secluded citadel.

Kar'a still keeps a picture sent to her by a group of her friends, all of them together for the final end, mere hours before the dying began.

The best laid plans...as predicted, something went wrong with the plan of House El. Kar'a craft went off course, slipping through an unrecorded wormhole. The A.I. of her craft, Sanctuary, corrected the course, but the damage was done. Going off course would cost Kar'a twenty seven years, unknown to a frozen in stasis Kar'a. She would spend an unknown amount of time at the bottom of one of Sol-III's oceans, until a figure with alabaster skin and starlight for eyes came to her in dreams, and gently pushed her back to realm of the conscious. 

It was Kar'a first contact with any Terran, and the figure's protective nature, to say nothing of what he did for her, would do much to open Kara's mind and heart to Terrans. After awaking just in time to save Sanctuary from major damage, Kar'a would spend days repairing Sanctuary to full functionality and working order. When Sanctuary raised above the waves of the south Pacific Ocean, and opened it's primary hatch, Kar'a breathed in this new planet's atmosphere in for the first time, and was hit with it's yellow sun for the first time.

By the time Kar'a fully processed what the rays of the yellow sun did to her physiology, Sanctuary had located Kal-El: he was dead, murdered. Guilt leveled Kar'a, the person who was supposed to protect Kal-El. In her grief she asked Sanctuary to tell her what Kal-El had become. Clark Kent, Smallville, the Daily Planet, Superman, the Justice League...it all flashed before her eyes. 

The plan became her own covert assimilation into the population of Sol-III. Months of training and research on Sol-III followed, all of it in the utter isolation of Sanctuary and the Atlantic ocean. Eventually a plain was laid; Kar'a would adopt the alias of Kara Connors, Sanctuary would break into human computer networks and establish the details of the identity. Since money was needed, Sanctuary took it from the computerized bank accounts of several human corporations that Kar'a had discovered during research to be corrupt and more harmful to the planet and eco-systems of Sol-III than good. 

The alias and funding in hand, Sanctuary edited the records of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston to make Kara Connors a first year student; one face among so very many. The school's strong record in Science and Technology appealed to the Kryptonian Science Caster. The idea was to provide Kara with an introduction into not just Terran technology and science, but an introduction into the society and culture of 'hew-mans' as well. During her stay at MIT, the Astrology department reported several break-ins. Nothing was ever taken, but their instruments and computers were always left pointing to the same sector of deep space. Despite searching for curiosity's sake, the MIT astrologists could never find anything in the sector of space. Only debris and light from an explosion of incredible magnitude...

Story Arcs:

The Real Story - While Sanctuary is able to provide Kar'a an expansive version of Kal-El's, and Superman's, story there's nothing like getting the story from those who actually knew her cousin. If that means spending time in Smallville, or sneaking into the Daily Planet, or knocking on the Fortress of Solitude, or even breaking into the Batcave--Kar'a will find the people who knew Kal-El best.

Bad Moon Rising - Kar'a becomes determined to ensure Doomsday never rises again, that no one will ever find any trace of the murderous beast to use against anyone else again. Sanctuary comes up with a hit in the ultra-secure (for Earth) and ultra-advanced (for Earth) servers of an organization named LexCorp. 

Game On - Supergirl makes her first fully public appearance, coming in to assist other heroes at a time of great need. After the dust settles the sigil of House El graces the balcony of Lois Lane's balcony for the first time since Kal-El's death. The story, and the interview, reveals Supergirl to be Superman's cousin, and tells the two very different stories of two escape pods. 

Supporting Characters:

Sanctuary - advanced A.I., as well as the modular vessel that brought Kar'a to Sol-III. Supergirl's partner/sidekick.

Major Hallie "Comet" Kale - USAF officer and expert pilot. Saved by Supergirl, the officer seeks an understanding (and friendship) with the reluctant alien refugee.

Additional Notes:
Kar'a is an alien, and a refugee. She is devastated that she was unable to be there for her cousin. While Dream of the Endless opened her heart to humanity, it's going to be a rough process of assimilating herself. She has to decide if Earth is simply a safe refuge for now, or a new home, because these "hew-mans" are awfully odd and Earth more than a little primitive and backyard compared to the advanced alien society she was raised in.

Alek tilted his head, the shadow of a smile crossing over his lips. "I got her a momento from where our family comes from. Who knows if she'll appreciate it, let alone like it." He shrugged, quickly, before making a mental note to never, ever, hand Eva a weapon of any sort. The smile disappeared as he stood there, taking the measure of the little sister he had barely spent much time with. It felt like the very first time he had seen her. Really seen her. When his head straightened the smile was fully gone, no sign of the humor of it left anywhere on any of his features. His voice went down an octave, his tone grim. 

"Evangeline...if anyone ever gives you trouble I need you to tell me. I need you to tell me immediately, and I need you to promise me that. This is important, for reasons you won't understand for years to come. So for the sake of the blood in your body being the same blood that flows in my body, I need you to trust me."

Her pretty eyes went wide, the look of a girl not wanting to believe she knew what was happening, even if deep down she did. "What are you talking about, Alek? Of course I trust you. Why? Is everything okay?"

It was overwhelming, the instinct to protect Eva, certain as he was of the sun in the sky that Eva wouldn't be able to defend herself if it ever came to that. With the friends, and enemies, Alek knew his family had for possibly the first time in his life come to realize just how vulnerable someone like little Eva was. He wouldn't allow her to become another dead rich girl caught in crossfire. He wouldn't ever allow her to be bullied. 

"Promise me, Eva."

"Now you're starting to scare me."

Sudden as a light coming on, Alek chuckled, smiled again. His left hand took her body in close to his again, hugging her, and his voice becoming a whisper. "I know. I love you, Evangeline..." In close his face tilted down to her's, a smile becoming a half-smirk proceeding the coming tease, "but I've seen your level of coordination. You ever get in trouble, tell your big brother. I'll always have your back. I'll be there."

He let go, tempted to muss her hair, if not for the knowledge of how protective most girls were of their hair. "I don't mean to be weird, Eva, but mother Russia isn't always a friendly place. Even for the young." 

Especially for the young.

"Get out of here, and please...wear flats." He couldn't help the jape, or the devilish grin that followed it. "I'm out. I've got a meeting at a night club. I'll see you tomorrow at the party."
