Mareep set off after Absol frolic. "Hi Absol! How are you doing?" she asked. She looked back at Gabe before looking at Absol again.

Gabe waved with his hand to dismiss the apology. "No need to apologise for the nature of a pokemon." he said before he followed Bakuto and adjusted his pace to Bakuto's. Gabe listened to Bakuto and nodded. "Yeah it makes the league interesting yet challenging that you can only use the four types, or dual types. But it rules out a whole lot of pokemon." He looked surprised at Bakuto. You battled Henri already? Awesome. Henri is a cool guy, can't wait to take him on once."

He listened to the pokedex. "That's true you know, Mareep is a sweetheart. Wouldn't hurt a flying-type. In fact, she hates have a type advantage. She battles for me but not if she doesn't have too." Mareep looked at the two trainers and let out a happy "Mareeep."

Gabe chuckled. The Absol sure seemed to know what he was doing. Gabe glanced at the other trainer. "Yeah, I do have pokemon but I haven't tried to compete for the league yet, I still have to do my first gym battle. But like you, I don't have many that are even allowed in the league. I have Mareep and Machop that both have the wrong types, and only Machop would be good against Henri. I do have a fire type, Tepig. I picked him up in Unova but didn't do the league there either, let alone many gyms. Turned out I wasn't made for travelling alone so I returned home." Gabe shrugged. "it is time I start my round around the islands."

He looked around. “I know a shortcut. At the crooked tree, just a bit farther down the path, we should go left and after a while, once we reach a big boulder in the grass we go right. It'll lead to a less know path into the rocky area. I'm sure we'll come across a pokemon you like."

When it will become evening Gabe will stumble across and Oddish he wants to catch. He will use Tepig (much to Mareeps dismay), back up is Mareep

And Sarah will find a Hoppip she wants to catch (not sure when yet but soon). She will use Weedle. Back up is Girafarig.

Sarah stepped back after hearing Regans warning. She felt relieved that Abra and Regan were fine and the ranger was right that she shouldn't fall in. Regan had said they were fine so the reason Abra hadn't come back must have been that he fell asleep again. The pokemon slept 18 hours a day if he could afterall.

Sarah thought and she brought her hand to Weedle's pokeball. "Saur, wrap your vines around me and lower yourself in the sinkhole. Weedle, sit on Saur's back, keep the flashlight in place, and help to look for them."
The pokemon nodded and did as Sarah said. Sarah put the flashlight on Saur's back and Weedle shot a little bit of string shot to keep the flashlight in place. Sarah switched it on and Saur lowered himself. They could just see the tunnel and the way Regan was going. "We'll see you on the surface." Saur said in his pokemon speech, which he knew humans couldn't understand but at least Regan knew that they knew which way they went.

When Sarah's pokemon resurfaced Saur pointed with his vine in the direction Regan walked off too. Sarah squinted her eyes a bit and thought she could see a small line on the ground that was going in the direction Saur pointed out. It could be the underground path Regan was following, the surface did seem to have an irregularity parallel to the tunnel.
Sarah nodded, "very well, then that way we go." They would have to leave a signal for Rapier though, she didn't know how to find the Staraptor otherwise.
"Rapier!" she shouted, hoping Rapier would hear her.
"Weedle, fire sting shot on the ground, make an arrow in the direction we are going. Keep shooting little blobs of string shot as a trail to follow as we move on if Rapier hasn't found us yet. Gira walk ahead but come back often to see we are still following you." Gira nodded and walked ahead of them. Sarah picked up her Weedle so he was higher so he could make an arrow out of string shot better. "I think we need to get you to become a Beedrill as soon as able," she said. Weedle stopped for a second and nodded. It was his biggest wish to be a strong Beedrill and be able to fly above the trees. He would train until he dropped. Weedle finished his arrow. "Looks great." Sarah praised her pokemon.

Abra was sound asleep, he was still aware of his surroundings and noticed Gira above them on the surface.

Gabe was glad there was someone on the path and he was even happier the guy seemed friendly and willing to talk and have company. The more the merrier in his opinion. The Absol looked cool.

Gabe shook the hand. "I'm Gabe. It's great to meet you and Absol." He gave a small wave back to Absol. Mareep came out of her pokeball to look at the trainer and pokemon that Gabe just met. "Oh and this is Mareep, worlds most curious pokemon." Hiiiiiii." Mareep said jovially. "I am on my way to the rocky area as a matter of fact. I need some herbs there for dad's stew. On this island, they only grow there. I am born and raised on this island, I often played in the rocky area. Quite often had to be saved from there too. But I know my way around there better than around the forest. I keep getting lost in the forest." Gabe started walking again. "You made it quite far on your on already, very impressive for someone not knowing his way around." he complimented Bakuto. "What pokemon do you hope to find?" Gabe asked.

Sarah wasn't sure it was the best decision to send in her Abra but she didn't have much other options. She was too weak, it would surely end in both of them falling down. she would have to hope the extra weight of the Abra wasn't going to be too much.
Abra looked at Saur. "I got this. You can release."
When the vine snapped Sarah watched in horror. "Saur!" Saur let go of Regan. "Abra!" Sarah gasped.

When Abra was in Regans arms he looked up and down, tilted his head and focussed. When the vine snapped Abra used teleport an instant later but instead of teleporting up, he teleported Regan down into the pokemon-made tunnel. Abra looked down the tunnel and tugged Regans arm and pointed. Not that there was anything to see now. "We should go there." Abra said, eventhough he knew the human wouldn't understand, before he fell asleep.

Sarah was worried when Abra and Regan didn't appear next to her. "Abra? Regan?" she yelled down the hole. Did the teleport fail and did they fall down? How deep was it? She didn't know. "Gira! I need your help." Gira walked up to Sarah and Saur. "We need to get them out, somehow Abra didn't teleport Regan here." Gira nodded. "I'll see if I can get some vines to climb down or something."

Gabe quickly brought his friend to the newly bought house. They had to make haste as his friends sister was on the island. Gabe didn't know the details but fast he could do. It didn't take too long to reach the house. "I got to head to the rocky area's quickly, there is a herb there dad wants to use in his stew. You are free to tag along."

Gabe started to go towards the rocky area, enjoying the walk. He didn't walk slowly and often increased the pace to a jog.
he noticed another traveller on the road. "He there! Great weather don't you think? On your way to the rocky area?" there weren't a lot of roads and clear paths on the island so for people born on the island educated guesses where easily made.

If you want someone to talk to, Blade, while you walk up there Gabe can tag along I'll RP to bring Lucian to his house and you can meet Gabe outside the city again or something. If JrVader comes back he can tag along too I suppose :)

Sarah was glad Regan agreed with her on the direction. Made her feel more confident. Actively tracking down a pokemon wasn't something she had done before and other than knowing the theory she had no experience. Sarah nodded when Regan asked if the tracks were going that way. she was also right that they couldn't be sidetracked now. Clearly Regan could keep her focus on her priorities, a good quality in Sarah's opinion

Sarah inspected the two items Regan had as they walked on. Both the flashlight and the lantern seemed to be in good condition and working properly. she wasn't sure if she could handle the lantern so she settled for the flashlight. "The Flashlight, I can work better with a flashlight, thanks," she said. Sarah pressed the buttons to quickly examine the light the flashlight emitted before she cycled through the settings. She had no doubt the ranger had good equipment for all sorts of situations.

Sarah glanced towards Regan when she asked if there were a lot burrowing pokemon but before she could answer she saw Regan drop a bit. A warning died on her lips when Regan grabbed hold onto a root. When Regan called Rapier Sarah sighed with relief but when Regan said that Rapier wasn't there her eyes widened. "Yes, hold on," Sarah replied when Regan asked for her help. "Saur, come on out and wrap your vines around Regan. Keep her from falling, pull just enough to keep her from sinking further." Sarah's Bulbasaur came out of his pokeball and wrapped his vines around Regan and pulled hard enough so the weight was better distributed and Regan wouldn't fall deeper with the little support she had left, Gira walked back and was placed herself before Saur so she could keep him in place in case Regan would drop so Saur wouldn't get pulled in too. That would buy Sarah some time. She lacked the strenght to pull Regan out or even be a counter weight. She wasn't sure if Saur could hold on if the ground would gave away beneath Regan. Her fingers wrapped around Abra's pokeball. abra could teleport but the extra weight might be too much. But she had Saur to counter that. As long as Saur could keep the tension on vines and get some of the weight of the instable ground it should be ok. "Abra, teleport Regan to safety." Abra appeared and Telepoted himself to Regan, Abra had to focus before he could teleport himself and the Ranger next to Sarah again.

Sarah looked pensively towards Regan. Was it always that larger than average pokemon were bolder? It would be an interesting topic as well.
She nodded briefly when Regan said where the clue would be, luckily it wasn't that far.
She smiled when Regan talked about Kawaken. "Too bad there aren't that many large bodies of water around here," she remarked.

Gira nodded "We'll be right behind you." she said. She glanced back to see if Sarah and Regan were still following and saw Rapier take off to the next part. Gira picked up some speed and followed the flying-type pokemon. "Oh wow, that is quite a trail. Hopefully, it's the right one."

Sarah watched Regan climb the hill. The Ranger was obviously in better shape than Sarah. Sarah followed suit but slower. Slightly panting she made it to the top of the small hill and looked down to where Rapier was perched, thankfully Regan spotted Rapier first so Sarah just had to follow Regan's gaze. From where she was standing she could see the trench. "That looks promising," she said. "I'd have to look closer but it definitely looks like a trail a very big Onix could make."

Sarah walked down the hill again and went to the boulder. "Thank you," she said to Rapier before she kneeled to take a closer look to the very clear marking in the ground. Her eyes darted up and down the trail. "I don't think it is very fresh but at least it gives us the direction. Since the body of the Onix narrows at the end you can see which way they go." The trench the Onix had made lead towards an area with lots of pits and caves. The caverns were ideal hiding places but one could get lost in them. Sarah stood up and made a couple of photographs of the trail and made some quick notes about measurements. "Hope you brought a flashlight," Sarah said. "It could be we'd have to look in one of the caves." She hoped not but it was a possibility.

Sarah noticed the Shuckle and pointed them out to Regan. "Look, Shuckle picking berries." She took her pokedex and registered the Shuckle. she would love to follow them to see where they were going but she didn't want to sidetrack from her current assignment and keep Regan longer than needed.

The path they would have to follow was slightly rising. Sarah was sure she would feel it in her legs the next day. Gira started walking alongside the trail. "Be careful, there can be some dangerous spots with half-concealed pits and some unknown cave entrances," Sarah warned Regan, even though she felt that the Ranger probably knew better than her.

Sarah shook her head to Regan's question. "Onix don't scare easily in general but since they all have their own personalities and all have their own experiences some may be more skittish than others. I haven't heard that this Onix, in particular, is easily scared but it does seem to avoid contact. There are trainers that saw it though but just not lately."

Sarah listened to Regan and nodded, she could understand what Regan said. "If Rapier would prefer not not fight, I understand. Gira doesn't want to battle any pokemon significantly smaller than her unless the pokemon is very persistent and provoking or she feels the team is in danger." Sarah stopped talking when the Poliwhirl appeared. She watched the high five and smiled. She never did such a thing herself but it reminded her of her brother Gabe who had similar ways to interact with his pokemon.
"I would love watching you and Kawaken." she said, "the brief moment I saw him already hinted at a great dynamic."

Sarah focussed back on Rapier and Gira. "You think the clue Rapier found is near?" she asked. she hoped so, even though chatting with Regan was enjoyable and insightful she wanted to make some progress. She hoped it would be a track or at least broken branches or something that indicated something large had passed there so they would at least have a direction.

Gira looked at Rapier. " I have never seen a desert nor real mountains." Gira sighed before she continued. "I am trying to help Sarah. She has told me what kind of pokemon she would like in her team and showed me what they look like. So I am looking around to see if I could spot one. She is very organised and sticks to her plans most of the time. She said that Hoppip are on Rhando and she would like one. They don't live in the rocky area but more on the grasslands, they might drift to the mountains"
