Bio

Long timer roleplayer, been at it for... god, almost 15 years now all told. Hasn't been all sunshine and roses, but I like to think I've improved somewhat steadily as time has gone on.

I generally like to play older characters, or at least toward the higher end of an age range. Also, just about all of my characters are caring and protective in some capacity, even the rare meanie that I make.

I play a mixture of male and female characters. I myself am a guy.

Generally speaking I try to post at least once per week.

Lucia grimaced as R.R. responded to them. The girl's speech was always so vulgar. But, she was technically ranked above them, so Lucia kept her tongue in her mouth on the matter. And, regardless of her opinion of the girl, R.R. had a proven record in combat; the mission at hand would really only be smoother with her tagging along.

"Very well," she said as she strode over and picked up the backpack containing the new batteries where she'd dropped it before the fight broke out (Writer's Note: *cough*), "Let's continue then. After you, R.R. Kuni, if you could continue scouting... and make sure we're going the right way? Let us be off."

It didn't take long for the first of the two sensor arrays to come into view. The trip there contained no further troubles, any scattered Invaders being scarce if they could be found at all, and nothing at all close to a size or number large enough to be a threat. While they were walking, however, a call came in on the global channel and Lucia called a brief halt to listen to it.

"This is Tian-Gui Jian of Team Afterglow. Our Gunner, Cellica Karris, has gone missing. If you find her, check to see if her comms are working, and reply to us immediately. We will be heading to Point D-4 right now. Thank you, and have a nice day!" That gave her pause. Cellica was missing? Had something happened? Was it possible she was hurt? What if-

Lucia mentally slapped herself. Fretting about this would do her no good, and neither would bolting out into God knows where trying to find Cellica. Her roommate couldn't have gone far, and regardless of that she was still in the middle of a mission. The first step, she reasoned, would be to finish her own tasks. Then, if Cellica still hadn't been found, they could switch to a search and rescue. But nothing good would come from abandoning the current task. So she quickly relayed the information to the rest of Novae, resolved to look deeper at the surrounding areas for a missing Linker, and kept moving. Soon they were at the foot of the array.

"Alright," Lucia said as she laid the batteries down again and took one of them out, "I'll only be a moment. Akari, R.R., if you'd keep watch? Merci." With an almost playful tapping of her heels together she boosted herself up to to the top in a single bound, and quickly made her way to the power hatch. It was really no different from changing the batteries in a smoke alarm or a digital clock, just all the pieces were a bit larger and heavier. She was done in less than five minutes, and soon was leaping off the edge to land on the ground with a heavy thud.

"And that's that," she stated as she put the old battery beneath the second new one in the backpack, "Where to for the other one?"

Kanzaki graciously accepted the cup of water from Kuroda and began to drink it. It took three total drinks, out of a habit from her sword training that she'd developed at some point, and then the cup was empty. Shikkaru seemed pleasant enough, thank goodness, but she would soon be discovering how well they worked together; their first mission was short at hand. And Kuroda was telling her to keep her sword at the ready.

"Cleaned, sharpened, and oiled every morning, Sensei," she replied as she started following him out the door. Standing there was another genin with pink hair, Yarin from what Kuroda said, and the Hokage quickly brought her into the group for the mission at hand. Well, better to introduce herself, she thought as she started walking beside the other girl.

"Hello, Yarin-chan, was it? I'm Kanzaki. Pleasure to meet you."
I'll post before the weekend. Been busy handling a prospective new job.
@Axel I see. Thanks for the info.
Hmm. I'm not a GM by any means, but isn't the Puppeteering technique a Sunagakure signature? I'm not really sure how an Uchiha, which are exclusive to Konoha, would've learned it...
Posted. I've also changed Kanzaki's dialogue color to a lighter shade of blue, hopefully it's easier to read now.
Shimura Kanzaki

Kanzaki stood there along with the rest of her classmates as the ceremony concluded. Lord Kuroda responded to them, then came down the line handing each of them their Konoha headband- the symbol of the village shinobi. It had an odd weight to it, or perhaps it only felt that way because she knew what it was. It was both a symbol of merit to be treasured... and a burden to be carried, even unto injury or death. In a way it was similar to her sword, or at least how Suzaku-sensei had instructed her to view her sword. That made it easier to handle. She did not smile as she accepted it, like some others. Instead she bowed dutifully, thanked the Hokage, then tied it loosely about her throat like a necklace.

A short while later she learned she'd be studying under the Hokage himself in the three-man teams they all had known were coming. It was a bit shocking, discovering that the best shinobi in the village would be her instructor, but it was also sure to be a one-of-a-kind opportunity. She'd be paired with Shikkaru... and with Keizo. That would make things interesting. Truth be told, she'd barely interacted with either boy in the academy. Shikkaru because she'd never really had a chance to, but Keizo she'd actively avoided. He always seemed upset about something, and it always appeared that speaking to him was asking to have all of it shifted onto the speaker for no reason. But, she reasoned, there was no helping it now. She'd have to do as her sensei always said; surmount it, move past it, put it behind her. Just like her slip of the tongue on her name.

"I'm looking forward to it, Shikkaru-kun. Just some water for me please, Kuroda-sensei."
I'm aware. I'm saying if we get more interest after that and need a 3rd (not counting the Hokage himself)
Oh worth noting, if there ends up being enough interest for an additional Jonin to be needed I'm happy to fill that role.
If it makes it easier I'm fine with rotating posting order with you *shrug*
