Says the person who literally made a multi-page Halloween comic for free.

@NarayanK

I laughed, and I a)know a little bit about Apophis, b)know almost nothing about Jericho, and c)would not be able to tell you anything about Tearlag if I tried. Funny expressions can benefit from a context, but they can work on their own too. TBH, it's something I've always envied about your art. I'm just too uptight about making things look "nice" to achieve anything resembling humor, so I don't really try anymore. I don't want to see someone who does have talent at it stop trying.

This has got to be one of the weirdest character interactions I've ever written.
Datura Platinum - Silver Hair, Gray Heart

"Well, it's a little complicated." Datura smiled wolfishly at the wink. "I am, according to the law, responsible for a girl here in a way that a parent would be, but I hardly act the part. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't even have a decade on her." As she spoke, she closed the distance between her and the taller student until she was at about arm's length. At this point, she was fairly certain that a bit of toxin had escaped her lungs into the air, only slightly intentionally. "Ah, should I...?" She tilted her head up, gazing intensely into a pair of blue eyes. Almost too blue, actually. Interesting. This one could be something, certainly more than her old teammates.

Ignoring the familiar twang in her chest and venomous fizz somewhere deep in her lungs, Datura asked the question now plaguing her thoughts: "How strong do you think you are? You see, I worry that this 'daughter' of mine may not be up to Beacon's cut." Of course, that was only half of the reason she wanted to know.

@Forsythe
Posting tomorrow. Would tonight, but I have to get up early for a test : /
@Forsythe

I guess I have the curse now.
Datura - Old Habits

"Not quite. I'm here to visit family." Datura replied, wearing a slightly wicked smile. To tell the truth, there was another reason besides the fear of being recognized that she had thought twice about coming to Beacon. Her semblance, "Poisonous Temptation", manifested in an exhaled powder with an...interesting effect. If inhaled, it caused people to become far more easily swayed by their intrusive thoughts, particularly if they were unaware that they'd been poisoned. In the past, Datura had used it with exceptional results on just about anyone who crossed her. It was perfect for situations where discretion was necessary. However, in the end, it ended up being used as an instrument of recreation more than anything else. For the sake of her husband and soul (if one believed in such a thing), she'd been trying to cut back on that recreation.

This girl was making things hard, though, coming onto her like that. Direct eye contact, too. She seemed pretty experienced, if her confident attitude was anything to go by. "I guess it's a shame, though. We won't be able to get to know each other." To hell with it, I want to know who'll back down first, if anyone.
Posting sometime tonight.
Datura - Splitting Off

Apparently, getting cracked in the head with a piece of rebar can have lasting consequences. Datura had always figured that Siri's decreased capability to remember things and write coherently had been at least somewhat caused by that particular incident, but she hadn't expected lasting pain to be an issue. Well, never mind that. It wasn't like she was the one who'd panicked and swung when the mutt's aura was depleted. "He was trying to protect you." The young woman frowned. She never could quite tell when her "daughter" was around whether or not these kind of thoughts were her own. She didn't think that such a dumb, sweet girl would be so manipulative, but why else would her inner voice be so sappy at times?

Lost in her thoughts, Datura didn't realize that she'd wandered a little ways from Soot and Siri, who were now engaged in what appeared to be an intense conversation. "Those two. They could ramble on with each other for hours." Before she could head it off, a small smile appeared on her face. She could be mouthy at times to Soot, and downright mean to Siri, but as far as she was concerned, no one had better come between the two of them, even...her. She lightly pressed a hand against her abdomen without much thought. "Don't be like this, like how you always are. He practically raised her, but he chose to love you even though you didn't come to him as an innocent baby."

"Yeah, offering to hook up with someone to fix a huge mistake you made is a greeeeaaaaat first impression." Datura muttered, maybe a touch louder than she intended to. It wasn't like there was anyone around, tho - damn it. Blonde student at twelve o'clock.

She froze, unsure of how to explain what she'd said, or if she should just walk away and pretend that this girl didn't see her acting like crazy person.
