"Holy shite," Klein exclaimed after noticing how hard the whatever spell hit him. Despite the spell was like a child pounding his chest, the fact that it dealt a quarter of his health is alarming. Even worse, he didn't do much damage, or any, in return. Perhaps he should just have become range, and just play his comfort role. Like a snake in the grass. Hide all game until the last round and popped up. But, it is too late now.

Giving a glance toward the kappa that was intercepted by Ames, Klein hopes that Amulak could kill it with his next spell. But, if he couldn't, his health bar should be thick enough to survive one hit from the monster. On the other hand, Klein picked a bolt from the ground, courtesy of boomer Raymond, and begin to charge at the spell-caster kappa. He saw Lewd and how the samurai had been holding that stance all this time, even when attempting to approach the spell caster kappa. And Klein's current objective is to give him that window of opportunity. So he charged forward before leaping into the air, both hands on the silver bolts. If he killed it, insane. If he didn't, his objective is complete.

An excruciating pain. A pain so strong that it wrecks his brain into mush. Or, that was what Klein was expecting from a spear going through his back. But, to be honest, it was like a pencil head going through his skin. Painful, but laughable at the same time.

Still, even with such minor pain, the effect it brought upon him could be noticeable. Almost a fifth of his health became thin air. And with such obvious suggestion, Klein reliezed that he didn't need to kill the monsters. All he need was to consume them without cooking. This means that he should have just gone to some butchers and buy some raw meat. Or, he could just let the ranged to do what they do best. So, pulling himself out from the pile of humans, Klein retreated back to his backline, planting himself between his much squishier teammates and the kappas. If the kappa only did 19 damage to the back, he could take at least 5 more hits like that before going down. Not too bad. Maybe he should even spec more points into health once he gets levels up.

The Sky Sailor

I really like this story for its softness and innocent. It's a very wholesome story, great interactions, a well-developed plotline, and a great train of thoughts despite you never wrote what the characters actually think. So, keep up the good work.

Once upon a feather

Aside from the grammar errors that had been picked from the above reviews, I think the story does have a strong point that is just being overshadowed by its grammar errors. First of all, I like the first-person perspective you chose for the story. It made the character more sympathizable. Second, I like the fantasy world that you are trying to build. And while it doesn't introduce as much lore as compare to the Sky Sailor, it does have a very interesting premise. Birds with the ability to speak? Humans with mutations? What is the scale of human to bird in this universe? I think what makes a great story is its ability in making the reader to actively asking questions and not being spoon-fed by the author. So prop for that.

The first and the Last

Being a sucker for tragic stories, I must say that the story is very great in terms of grammar, imageries, and the humanizing of a bird. Still, to me, the ending of the story doesn't make me very emotional when being compare to how strong the beginning started. Perhaps, you could narrate the ending in a documentary way, ripping away the humanity that the readers felt so familiar from the beginning and reduce it to the cold and remorseless nature that you are so after.

After traveling for a while, Klein knows most of the people in the group. The samurai was Dysphoria if he recalled correctly. The skinny looking boy, with this cheerful looks in his eyes, called Ames. The catgirl was Ari while the Slavic guy was Amulak. Of course, there is a boomer named Raime. And the fucker that almost taken all of Klein's money, Magpie.

He holds no grudges. But he does looking for some childish payback though.

When Magpie decided to pick a fight with another "kappa" and locked herself in a heating close quarter combat, Klein deemed that his assistance is much needed. After all, you can't let a wounded woman to fend for herself. So, shielding his body with his left shoulder, Klein began to charge at Magpie and the kappa from the side. Klein's plan was simple, pin the kappa, kill it (preferably by himself), and give Mag a taste of her own medicine.

That being said, Klein, being a kind and a good teammate, decided to give a heads up. So just about 3 meters till impact, the over-modded character roared:
