I suggest you take a look through here. The profiles for Expanding Horizons have fairly unique setup that helps make sure characters from wildly different settings can be compete on equal footing.

Your characters are going to need to be fit into them and be approved by @Circ before you can use them here.

Fionn Harken

"Aye." The armored man said in response to Rosa's question. His eyes narrowed as he caught sight of Voph's hand on his firearm. They had approached in the open and without weapons. The reaction seemed uncalled for, even out here in the wastes. Hopefully Fionn's answer to the second question might get the twitchy man to relax a bit.

"I am Fionn of the Kindred. With me are the oracle Grug and the wanderer Nakreyya. We came after discovering that Karnarouri was close to breaking out of his seal. I'm glad to have finally met you. Most of my companions are busy evacuating villages and three people are far to few for the task ahead."

Fionn Harken

It was nice having a person with sharp ears around. It kept one from doing stupid stuff like walking past what was hopefully some much needed help. Fionn turned and followed Nakreyya through the small forest of skeletal grey trees. He couldn't tell if they were dead and had simply been protected by the geography or had somehow found a way to survive in this wasteland. Didn't particularly care which one it was either.

Their path took them out of the riverbed they had landed in. Eventually reaching 'solid' ground and the people they were searching for. It was a trio of heavily armed adventurers from the look of things. Although they didn't posses the familiarity of a well traveled party. Perhaps they had joined together for thus mission in a tavern just outside the wastes.

Or maybe they had all joined that caravan the mage could see a little ways off. No way to know for sure without talking to them of course. Not unless either of his companions were psychics and had failed to mention it.

"Greetings fellow travelers." He called out. His helmet attached to his belt for the moment. "Have you also come to prevent Karnorouri's unsealing? Or has your caravan simply chosen to rest here."
@CoyoteLovely@Hekazu@EchoesofOld@Mataus@Ciaran

"That's is extremely heartening to hear. I don't suppose you have seen anything else that might be of immediate aid to us?" Fionn said as he picked up what looked like a leather bag full of supplies. A drone had come by to drop it off while Grug was attempting to divine the future. The sound of moaning wind and drifting dust drew his attention as the cargo bay door opened.

The landscape it revealed could only be described as desolate. It was all shades of grey and black and brown. A dessert in name and reality both, any life that had once covered this land long gone. Killed by the necromantic energies released here even before the war that had finished it off for good.

The ship itself had been set down in what used to be a massive river. With the top of the vessel just barely beneath the lip of the sandswept dunes surrounding them. Cloaked or not you didn't take chances when dealing with a threat like this. Fionn squared his shoulders and set off down the ramp, leading the trio out of the riverbed and towards the mountain of corpses and Karnorouri's Pillar.

"We are." Came the admission. There was something else in those words. Past the pride at the compliment lay a...sadness or perhaps some bone deep tiredness. "Our technology is advanced, our magic powerful. Back Home our lives are as close to perfect as one can hope for in the mortal realm. A man could live his entire life without raising a finger. His every need seen to by servitor drones. But it comes at a cost."

A sad smile graced his face as he stared at the softly pulsing heart of the ship. "Our lives are perfect, but what of the rest of the galaxy? Wars destroy entire civilizations. Cities comprised of nothing but
slums. Warlords, crime bosses and corrupt politicians destroy what could have been full and happy lives."

He turned to her then with that same sad smile still on his face. "We look at a universe constantly devolving into chaos and misery and find that we can't bear to just stand by and watch. So people like me leave behind perfection. We come out here and do what we can to make the universe a better place. It can get...lonely, at times."

Before he could say more a nearby drone chirped at them, causing the young man to tilt his head as if listening to something. The sadness left his face and was replaced by satisfaction.

"Ah, our destination approaches. We should return to the cargo bay so we don't leave Grug waiting any longer than needed. Oh and I should have told you earlier but if you need any supplies for the trip ahead simply speak your requests aloud and the Guardian will have them waiting for us."

Saef Harken
Lenuria-Khaine

It wasn't that Saef wouldn't have engaged his opponent in conversation. No, it was always a good idea to learn what you could about the guy you were trying to kill. And a good reputation was a tool to be sharpened or used when the opportunity arose. No the problem was that Khaine had done the same thing to talk that he would have done to attack.

The instant the flaming Demon exited his portal the spells surrounding Saef activated. Half of the orbs of light erupted forth as lances of energy. Each one was several times stronger than the reworked spells earlier. They were also much more focused and had less water to travel through. All in all it probably wasn't one of Khaine's more pleasant teleports.

It certainly didn't help that the Thaumaturge was gone almost instantly, his velocity now about as high as it could go while still allowing for agile changes in direction. He took half a second to take stock of the battlefield as he swam.

Below them his platoon was busy fighting off hordes of deep sea monsters. The giant snake above seemed to have lost interest and was now slithering away. To where he wasn't sure. Over towards the center of the city several of the champions from different sides had decided to start a battle of the titans. A glance answered why they would bother fighting the kaiju at all. A golden glow shone out through the inky blackness surrounding the monster. Chances were sadistically good that that was where the staff had been hiding this whole time.

Justin Harken

"We were supposed to be showing up at a major gang shootout. Something isn't right here." Justin said. Frowning as he crouched down next to the dead bodies. His eyes swept over the corpses and then the surrounding walls, his frown deepening as he did so. "Only a couple bullet holes in the walls. And judging from the angles I would guess they traveled through these two first. Their burns are odd too. Little to no scorching of the surroundings but still hot enough to ignite their clothes."

The large man stood back up and started scanning the corridor like it was an active combat zone. His gaze flowing across the corridor like a set of high powered targeting radar. "This was done by a single highly skilled combatant with either a very small and accurate flamethrower or some sort of heat power. Whatever the case is, judging from the general lack of gunshots echoing through the building, they aren't here anymore."

He sighed and glanced at Olivia. "Let's leave this to the police when they finally get here. I want to ask around the neighborhood however. See if anyone caught sight of whoever was responsible for this."
Go with the other thread. In fact, I suggest that all the people waiting on us go start posting over there. Get your characters aquatinted and the like.

It was obvious that the swarm of glowing spikes were being less than effective. In fact all they were doing was preventing the enemy champion from staying in place long enough to get shot. Time to change tactics.

Saef reached out with his mind, latching onto the spell work of the swarm and changing it as it moved. The adjustments only took a few seconds and the Thaumaturge nodded in satisfaction as he finished. The behavior of the swarm immediately changed, spreading out into a wide half circle as if to come at the flaming Demon from as many directions as possible. Once they reached their assigned positions the projectiles changed from solid spikes to energetic lasers.

Fifty or so lasers leapt through the water at speeds much closer to that of a normal photon. Individually they wouldn't kill, not with the limited energy within each spike. But all of them together would certainly do the trick. And the beshroomed skeleton...probably wouldn't get caught in the attack. Assuming he made it past the giant floating blades coming for him.

Meanwhile Saef was busy setting up another spell as he blasted around in a random evasive maneuver. Balls of light were appearing around him at various distances. And in short order a score of them were circling around him, keeping up with his eratic movements and increasing speed.
