Kasuke Mina

Mina danced out of the way of Dulga's grab attempt, using one of her arms to parry the attempt and force Dulga's arm away. She needed her other hand, though, as Dulga's multiple arms meant she had to be very conservative with her own. She didn't block the other arm's attempt. Of course, Mina knew that with Dulga's arms being very strong and able to solve a good deal of fight, she wouldn't have much need to train her legs. Plus she was strong, but that just meant she was using more momentum and force. When Mina saw the punches coming, she moved back and low, taking less damage from them as she was travelling with them, and as she did so, she grabbed, Dulga's grabbing arm, pulled, and swept her legs at the same time. If this took out Dulga's balance and propelled her forwards, Mina would shift her weight so that if Dulga landed correctly, on her back, Mina would be on top of her. If she decided to hedge her bets and land face first, at least they'd both be hurt. Of course, this was if her manouver worked at all. Either way, she took the punches. All her falling back did was to reduce their force to that of an ordinary strong punch, so they really hurt.

Maeda Hitomi

Hitomi squirmed and bleated more, until Tomoe finally let go and hugged her arm instead, and offered to go get some coffee. The sheep girl was about to cheerfully accept, and had already started smiling at Tomoe when she was approached by a dour looking boy. It was only when he adressed her formally and bowed that she remembered him, making her smile back and return the bow, Tomoe still latched onto her arm.

"Goroshi Asahi! I remember you! We were in the same support classes last year, though I don't think we ever actually talked.
I never got to congratulate you for making it to the Hero class! So, congratulations!"
she chimed cherrfully. Was this girl even capable of feeling ill will towards anyone? She was like sunshine in human form, almost sickeningly so!

Kasuke Mina

Mina followed Dulga into the training room's changing area, and as her costume was damaged beyond salvage and a new one was in the process being tailored, she instead opted for the standard academy gym clothes. Besides, she was still feeling niggling pains in her back and neck. Fighting in anything that restricted her flexibility, like her costume, might not be a good idea yet. Mina saw her opponent's face as they were changing, and wondered what the story behind those scars were, but quickly pushed it to the back of her mind. It was irrelevant clutter that may distract her from viewing Dulga as her foe in this sparring session.

When the petite girl was ready, she followed Dulga out, and into the training room itself, and took a stance. She spent a few seconds calming herself and giving herself over to her martial arts instincts after Dulga's invitation to attack. Only when she felt ready, did she rush forward. She was quick! When she reached her opponent, she threw some quick, weak strikes at Dulga's abdomen and head, merely trying to feel her out right now.

Maeda Hitomi

Hitomi also didn't notice that a collision was imminent. As Tomoe was looking down, Hitomi was looking up. So the sensation of something connecting with her chest was alarming. Doubly so considering what, or rather who, she'd been thinking about. She bleated like a surprised baby goat, and leapt up from her bench, blushing.

"Oh! Oh, it's only you, Tomoe. You starled me!" She responded, before bleating again and squirming when Tomoe hugged her and buried her head in the sheep girl's chest again. "Please stop that! We're in public!" Hitomi chided, before smiling back finally. Tomoe was hard to stay mad at. "I was just sitting on this bench, thinking about...stuff. What about you?"

"Oh, my, no!" The secretary replied, her infuriatingly sweet saccharine act not dropped for a second. "Believe it or not, I actually want to help you. That is, if you do still actually want to be a Pro-Hero. It's not just about power, or being the best. You also have to be good. You're not. In fact, if you weren't the Principal's grandson, I wouldn't even be wasting my time trying to correct you. I think you're a lost cause. But I owe him many, many favours, and I like a challenge. I run an extracurricular class for Hero students who need a little coaxing in the right direction. I'd like you to come along. Actually, let me rephrase that. You're coming along."

@pkken

My schedule's freeing up as I don't have as many classes now. I may rejoin this.

Kasuke Mina

Mina was icier than usual today. ever since the exercise, people had showing sympathy towards her, due to what Amane did to her. She didn't need people bringing up Amane every ten seconds. She rather forget that chapter of her life entirely. And she REALLY didn't want anybody pitying her. Kasuke Mina was the most promising future Hero in the entire class, in her own head, at least. Amane had utterly destroyed her, in spirit and mind as well as body. Never in her entire life had her ego been damaged this much. She needed to prove herself.

That's when she had remembered Dulga's sparring offer. Dulga was one of the MVPs of that exercise, at least in Mina's opinion. She decided to cash in that sparring offer, against somebody worthy of her, and prove to herself any everybody else, that she was number one. After some searching of the school, Mina eventually found Dulga in a random corridor. Despite how recently she'd been bedridden and unable to move from her beating, despite her needing to use a zimmer frame the first day she was cleared, and despite fainting from exhaustion in the kitchen after she had been fully cleared, Mina still made the following challenge;

"Hey, Dulga. Remember when you said you'd like to spar one day? How does today sound?" she asked, in a voice that could not be described as friendly and would likely not take a refusal well.

Maeda Hitomi

Hitomi sat down on a bench in the courtyard, and sighed. Even without the physical side of things, Hero classes were still a lot more taxing that the Support classes, which now looked like arts and crafts by comparison. Even so, she got a giddy, happy feeling in her stomach from just thinking about that, and had to look at it again! She pulled from her vest a folded piece of paper, and opened it to read the contents again. It still seemed surreal to her, reading the letter which stated that she was now an official member of Hero class 1A!

Ever since the exercise, her and Ruby had been welcomed with open arms. They'd more than proven themselves as having earned their place by holding the point for so long with just the two of them, and though the whole exercise was declared a no contest, everybody knew that their team had technically won. It felt good to be praised and accepted like that. Of course, her fellow support classmates, even a few she'd called friends were less happy about it. Several of them actually had combat-suitable quirks that made them far stronger than Hitomi, and unlike her, it was their lifelong dreams to become a Hero. Hitomi's dream, it was well known, was always to work in costume manufacture, and indeed still was. Still, she was grateful, and honored, and having lost her old friends just meant they weren't real friends anyway. And besides, she was already making new ones. Tomoe and Ruby immediately sprung to mind,

As well as Acion...

She looked up at the sky, puzzled. Did it suddenly just get hotter?

Mako Akane

Amane would find, as he began his janitorial punishment today, that he had a visitor this time, in the form of the beautiful school secretary. The former Supervillain, Akane Mako, was standing in the hallway, watching him, smiling with her eyes closed in her usual sly, false saccharine way.

"Yare yare. That didn't exactly go according to plan, did it?" She chimed in an almost mocking tone. "I watched the tapes. For somebody trying out for a Hero class, you weren't even trying to be a Hero. In fact, I was on first name basis with several Villains who'd baulk at what you did and said to poor miss Kasuke." By now she'd opened her eyes, and her burning golden stare was piercing Amane.

Featuring: Hana Park and Madison Weaver
Location: Gym Class.
Time: 11:25 am

The day was still very young but already it had felt like a whirlwind for Hana Park. Not only had she had a wonderful breakfast in bed, but she arrived to school practically crown royalty being paraded around under Hailey Green’s arm. Those that saw, such as those Hana had sat with in home room, or those who noticed in the halls now had more whispers about Hana other than just wondering if she would be able to supply them their fix. Hana was seeing the school in a new light, one that came with excitement at the prospect of the future. Where before Hana saw school as an obligation now she was starting to see it as, well, fun.

Fun enough that in third period she found herself putting her and Hailey’s initials in a little heart on the margins, which was far more enjoyable than another history lecture. Her sunny disposition carried her through to fourth period, gym, where she was practically whistling as she changed into her gym clothes. Gym was never her favorite class, but she got brownie points for being part of the athletics program; she still had to tell the softball coach that she was dropping for cheerleading but that would happen in time.

For now, Hana was on the mat doing the warm up stretches, going for her toes and loosening the joints. But today...today was a good day.

As soon as she finished, and stood up, she’d realise she had company. A blonde senior with a build that defied ‘athletic’ and was bordering on ‘muscular’ had approached her without noticing. She smiled and offered her hand for Hana to shake. ”Hey. I’m Madison Weaver, on the Cheerleading team. I wanna say congrats on getting in, as I couldn’t do that in person yesterday. You were in the softball team, weren’t you?”

Hana was surprised at being approached for something other than dealing. She supposed she’d have to get used to it given that she was, as of now, out of that entire game. Rather than just stand and stare slackjawed, Hana returned the smile with a friendly one, shaking Madison’s hand. ”Hana Park. I’m not so sure I deserve a congratulations, but thanks. You’re a cheerleader? No offense but I pegged you as more...I dunno...cross country or track.” She was speaking, of course, about Madison’s clearly more defined physique. Hana was in shape, but she wasn’t nearly on the same level as Madison.

”I was on softball, yeah. But...now I’m a cheerleader. From fastballs to flips. Hopefully I don’t embarrass myself, I’ve never really done cheerleading before.”

”I mean, I am in charge of the running club, but that’s irrelevant. I’m a cheerleader too, because this school doesn’t have any acrobatics or gymnastics clubs. Probably to filter all the talent into the cheerleading team. Anyway, I hope you don’t embarrass yourself either, but you already have a history of athletics with your softball. Not a perfect transition but when I joined three years ago, all I could do was running and a bit of MMA. I’m not that worried about your future, but I didn’t see your audition so I don’t know what your starting point is. I mean, if you willing to work hard, I mean, really get put through the ringer, then I suppose it doesn’t matter how good you are before training.”

”Oh...I...I didn’t really have an audition. I was kinda...put on the team. But don’t worry, I intend on showing that it wasn’t just for show that I got a place there.” Nepotism had placed Hana on the team and she was sure that would lead to some sort of stigma by those who had earned their place through more normal and natural means. It was her only means of proving herself.

”I hope I can come to you for advice if I need it. I met some of the other members of the squad..and well you seem nice enough to tell me what I’m doing wrong without getting mad about it.”

”Of course! I mean, I won’t pretend I’m not going to be strict, but everybody starts somewhere. I rarely get angry during training unless any of the girls are screwing around. You seem to me like you won’t be one of them. And I’m glad. All my worries are gone now. Anyway, you going to that party tonight? I’ll probably see you there.”

The topic of a party had come across Hana’s ear, but unlike the New Year’s one where an appearance of hers was mandatory as per the payment, this time she had no such obligations and in fact had a far more exciting night planned. Exciting for her anyway. ”The one on the boat? No. I’ll be staying on land tonight. You won’t see me there, but I’m sure I’ll see about it on the internet tomorrow. Why, do you need a plus one? I could ask around if you do.”

Madison shook her head. ”Thanks anyway. I’ll actually be heading to the party with Shauna Flynn. I asked her to help me get ready as I don’t go to very many parties. So I’m good for a plus one.”

Hana had to tilt her head as if she had just heard something that made little sense. Today must have been some kind of backwards day. Hana was sitting with the popular kids, and Shauna Flynn was showing up to a party with someone. ”Shauna Flynn? Really? No offense but aren’t you a little...old for her? Sweetie, you could do better. Like a lot better. Like a lot a lot better.” Hana never had a run-in with Shauna, thankfully, but even she heard the tales of the Shark’s pursuits. Maybe the fact that she was going with Madison meant the Freshmen had been warned in advance.

”Huh?” answered Madison, before Hana’s insinuation clicked, and Madison chuckled. ”Oh, no! No, we’re not going together like that! Yeah, she wishes...We’re just going as...I guess friends? Wow, I hadn’t thought about that yet. Anyway, she’s not that bad, plus I can’t really do much judging of her taste in girls myself after the Shiloh incident.”

Madison read in Hana’s face that she had no idea what the ‘Shiloh incident’ was, then coughed and blushed. ”That’s not important. Anyway, I’m not really looking to ‘do a lot better’. I’m out of the dating game for the foreseeable future unless something unexpected happens.”

Hana remained unconvinced, and it showed in her expression. She was looking at Madison with a raised eyebrow, like a parent catching a child in a lie and watching them dig the hole deeper and deeper. Hana might not have known Shauna personally, but she knew enough. Everyone did. Hana was at the New Year’s party and she had seen Shauna there doing her ‘thing’, and it was a shame that Madison seemed to be falling for it. But was it Hana’s place to get involved? Team members looked out for each other, right?

”Are you sure she sees it that way? Shauna doesn’t have friends. Just...watch yourself. The last thing I want is my new cheer mentor to come to school tomorrow with a Shark Bite on neck.”

Hana didn’t know who Shiloh was either, but given the context she assumed there was some kind of history there. Jilted lovers. Maybe some lurid affair. Little nuggets of drama that would maybe make for an interesting story on her blog down the line. It was funny. Her time as a dealer had her privy to a lot of information yet there was fewer gossip about relationships than she expected. Most people tended to keep that sort of thing private, and for good reason.

”And being out of the dating game doesn’t really matter with her, right? But whatever, you can probably handle her. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

”I think I can handle myself,” Madi chuckled. ”Anyway, I won’t keep you from gym class any longer. This is actually one of my study periods, but what can I say? I’m a gym nut. See ya!”

Hana said her farewells before returning to the class at hand. They were going to run laps again. It was all they ever did. But between sitting with popular students, a brush with online recognition, and now a cheerleading friend and senior going to a party with the constant source of drama among young students, Hana was now more than ever convinced she was in some kind of dream world.

And it definitely had its perks.
@Gisk

All the stories are fairly non-sequitur though they're linked by recurring npcs, and the consequence of some quests are sometimes shown in others. Just read up on the lore in the OP and you should be fine.
@ReaptheMusic

Hmm, wonder what would happen if she tried to steal from Hitomi. She'd either just get the sheep sense, or she'd actually grow horns and sheep ears.

The Varjan renegades were typical Varjans, and just hearing their slander was starting to get her angry again, but she knew that nobody had to die today. This was it. This as the test she'd take this quest for. If she could hold them off without taking a life, no matter what they say, no matter how they provoke her, then she'll have proved them wrong. If she so much as took one life today when she didn't have to, they'd be right, and she'd be no better than the lying, bloodthirsty monster they thought she was.

She spared a glance at Bast as she drew her sword, catching his eye and communicating that this was wear he'd need to hold up to his promise, though she needed his intervention to stop before she took a life, that too would be a failure in her eyes. No, her best weapon in this fight was to prove her foes wrong.

She blocked the swings of her attackers as about three started to fight her at once, and while it was easier to defend when you weren't attacking, the number attacking you would usually decrease. With three people attacking her at once, Eilidh was being driven back, and every so often an enemy's blade would cut into her horse flesh, causing her to wince.

Damn. Peace was hard!

@PaulHaynek@13org

Rebecca didn't even need to think about the best course of action. The moment she saw Magnus held hostage, she dropped her weapon and raised her hands. Besides, without Magnus, they didn't much of a chance fighting their way out, and Yang was seemingly fine without weapons. This was logically the best course of action. She needed to buy time to think.

"All right. I have surrendered. Now let him go."

As she was talking, she looked right at Magnus. Fire and desperation were in the maiden's eyes. She was willing the timid Minotaur to fight back! He was strong. He could break out of his captor's clutches. He had to, or they'd all be put to death!

At that moment,swords flew over her head and into several of the soldiers around her. Rebacca swiftly scooped her sword back up and turned on the nearest living Varjan, aiming her sword at his heart as it dated forward like a striking serpent.

Duncan also declined the healing potion. "I only got punched in the stomach once, and it winded me. I'm not actually hurt anywhere," he explained, before standing back and listening to Circe and Roland, raising his eyebrow. He didn't actually suspect that they were planning anything to do with the attack. For one, he didn't know that Circe had any interest in it. He also didn't think that Roland would actually go out alone or in a small party of first years looking for life-threatening danger against the will of the teachers. In that situation, Duncan didn't know who he'd be more afraid of; the monster or the teachers!

What Duncan did know about Roland was that he thought Circe was cute. "I'll leave you two alone," he said, his tone making his meaning clear, before walking away from them. He looked back to Sonia, who was at this point surrounded by teachers. No matter. They could be introduced later. He sat down at an empty table besides one other person, which was good, s the centaur practically took up two seats in his efforts to stop his horse end blocking the space between tables.

After finishing his meal, he looked up at the other occupant of his table. "Hey," he greeted. "What's up?"

@Awesomoman64@Cerces22@floodtalon

After collecting her own food, at the cafeteria, Mako was about to sit down with the other teachers. Other people of note sitting with them included the spider girl, and the subpar human boy, both from her class. The human boy appeared to be twitching, however, and this time he could clearly sense something about him, like a fire burning him from the inside out. Interesting.

The Witch sat besides the twitching boy, and smiled. "Potions aren't for everyone," she consoled in a soothing, almost motherly voice. "I noticed that you struggled in class today. Don't worry. You'll probably do a lot better with the rituals and incantations. I've yet to ever meet a student who was bad at all three."

After his next twitch, she let a beat of silence pass, then leaned closer, concerned. "Are you aright? You look uncomfortable. Would you like me to take you to the nurse's office?"
