Atone was unable to enter the fight as soon as he would have liked. He had gotten caught up in the panic-stricken crowd that was fleeing the tavern and only now was he free to move. Before he could make his way towards the troll, however, one of the flying creatures swooped down to make a meal out of him. Atone cried out in pain and then swung his longsword at the creature in retaliation. Once the creature was dealt with Atone stepped forward to engage the flying creature attacking Durnan.

I've been thinking about it.
If you want a paladin analogue you could also go crusader.
Atone frowned at Yagra's response, but before he could utter a response an alarm was raised. The patrons fled or hid for their lives as a troll emerged from the depths with an entourage of wing creatures. Atone rushed towards the troll with sword and shield in hand. He needed to get its attention before it harmed any innocent bystanders.
One of my new favorites things to do in League of Legends is to play Fiddlesticks and yell SKREEEEEEEE every time I use his ultimate ability.
I'll give this shot. My work hours are getting cut, so I have some extra time.
