My Very Brief Bio

Male, 31 years old. (So I'm practically dead, as we speak.)

Likes (other than writing and roleplaying): I'm into all genres of music. I love to cook. I love the outdoors, and walking through the park near my house. (Yes, really.) I read a lot of thriller/mystery novels. And I usually watch seasonal anime. (Or cooking shows. Because Western Media provides even fewer things that are worth watching.)

But as for my many other neglected hobbies, I've played basically every sport. (Soccer and Bowling being my favorite of the bunch.) And I'm trying to play more video games. (Going through my never-ending Steam library.) Plus, I've dabbled in making electronic & metal music, and I used to play a number of instruments. (Guitar, French Horn, etc.)

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Alright then.

I just noticed that I misremembered how Joltik was supposed to be spelled. So I'm going back to fix that now. <.<'

And just so you're aware. I'm probably going to be busy tomorrow and this upcoming weekend. (Getting the keys to my new house. Yay. So I'm going to be moving some stuff and shopping around for things.) But it shouldn't take me too long to get the post out.
Books loved by some really creepy dudes.

My limited experience hasn't been great with Peterson fans.

I can't help but assume the reason there is self-evident. But eh, personal feelings are yours to have.

Though due to the nature of how he became known. (And I mean that it wasn't based on nepotism, or something else that forces them into the spotlight. Think of a crappy comedian, actor or celebrity, that still gets new gigs because of the almighty dollar.) If he wasn't "interesting" by strict definition, I feel like he'd have far fewer targets on his back. Displayed here through many others clear and likely strong negative emotions. (Because if you lack something that holds the people's attention. You're far more likely to have no impact or "mention-worthy haters" whatsoever. You'd think.)

Since the idea of bad people liking something, can and does apply to everything. I can't imagine reacting to all media that I'm not personally fond of, with anything but a passive shrug. Unless I found the work (or author) itself negatively compelling enough to warrant otherwise. But I guess, that's simply how I view it.

I have never heard of Atlas Shrugged until this thread, and I did have to read Ayn Rand in school.

I've heard from the grape vine, that this is one of those books you might've been forced to read and study in school. So with the best faith assumption given, it's pretty easy to see why someone might dislike this novel. (Because who finds being forced to read something you may not have any active interest in, anything but a nuisance at best?)

Though not having read any of Ayn Rand's works myself. I have seen people who mention that her other works are better, while still criticizing Atlas Shrugged. Often mentioning how plodding its first third/ten chapters are. (Something I can easily see turning the average reader/high-schooler off) Among other things. But nobody here has really gone beyond the surface, though.

If a person has anything by Jordan Peterson on their bookshelf.

I came here to say Jordan Peterson, too, lol.

Man, you two would hate the millions of other general self-help books that get published every year.

So because I know most readers will own a wide variety of books and novels, whether they actually liked them or not. (Political, spiritual and historical minds, especially.) There's not too many books that I can imagine getting that kind of immediate negative reaction from me. With one potential exception...(And even then, I know people can gift you bad books as a joke sometimes. So...)

Oh, wait. I just realized that most previous answers had failed to meet the proper context of that question. So I wrote this by proxy. Though now I realize the question wasn't "what book would make you judge a person's character, if you merely saw this in their possession." And that it was someone fondly gushing over the work in question. So my answer is even more certain. Because I refuse to believe that any rational person would include these in their favorites.

My answer: A modern president's or career politician's autobiography or novel. (Take your pick, it probably applies.)

Because I can't actually think of a pragmatic reason to buy that, aside from a celebrity-esque worship of that particular figure. Since one, you're learning fuck all. (Nothing the internet couldn't tell you, at the very least.) Two, you're supporting a ghostwriter and are probably the kind of person whose unaware of that. Third, I can't think of a more boring and pretentious self-indulgence, than having to read about a professional bullsh*t artist and how they'll be fabricating their own past to me.

So in conclusion, you probably won't get any funny or good writing out of it. There will be no interesting styles or subject matter, that most fiction provides. You learn nothing, in comparison to other better political or historical literature. Nor will you be able to improve yourself, assuming you take it as life advice. (And you can't even fap to it—or hell maybe that IS the demographic who buys it. I don't know.)

I digress. If you want to show your political affiliation that badly. Just get a funny t-shirt or something.

This is a thing that exists.
It's been way too long since I've had a good night of sleep. So I've been pretty low on energy lately.

But I'm less than a week away from getting the keys to my own house. (And I'd like to hope that statement remains true.) So that oughta perk my mood up a bit, when all is said and done.

A close one, but I'll go with Lions for various vague reasons.

What was the last song you got stuck in your head?
"Father who punched son to death over cheesecake pleads guilty to homicide." - A real news headline I saw today. (And really, that could be a spam thread all on its own. You'd never run out of content.)
