"Hazbin Hotel killed my whole family!" - The Ghost Note.
The Recollection faded, and naturally, Britney was as puzzled as the rest of the group.
It seemed that Emily's ugly head resurfaced after ten years, and it was entirely her fault. She sighed, shaking her head as she turned away from the group for a moment so they wouldn't see her. She heard about all the terrible things they were doing from Lynette Domínguez, and Britney knew that she should have cared for Emily ten years ago as if she had Alizee and the Void Heart. She would like to say that she was better late than never, but how many people did her actions hurt? How many people has Emily hurt? How many has Vashti hurt? How many people did 8th Street hurt?
However, there was also the question of just who Kari went to help with Emily's harassment. If Kari had reached out to Britney, she could have helped, but she knew that Kari hated her for what she had done, which was fair. However, the odds of Emily having something to do with Father Wolf were... relatively slim.
The odds of Kari having something to do with Father Wolf were extreme.
”You know, Sloane, Vashti said the funniest fucking thing at the Halloween Festival. She said to tell you to drop round their manor again to talk to Emily. Want to tell us what the fuck you and your worse half. Are planning with 8th? Behind our fucking backs?”
However, Linqian quickly jumped on Sloane, which reminded Britney of her encounter with Vashti at the Halloween Festival. A lot was going on at that moment, and then she went to Sabrina's house with the others, so she didn't have much time to process it. However, Linqian was jumping the gun. Even though Britney found it odd, they didn't have anything concrete and would only make Sloane try and cover her tracks better or allow her to play the victim when something popped off. Britney took a step forward placed her hand on Linqian's shoulder, and said,
”Look, Linqian,” Britney began. ”That came from Vashti's mouth. Vashti. You saw how crazy she is.”
The Recollection faded, momentarily disorienting Drake as he didn't get a moment to process the information it gave him. It raised the question of what exactly Emily and 8th Street were up to, but that was a matter for later. What was important was the person spying on them... which could be Father Wolf stalking them. Drake stopped, floating at a similar level to their spy, as he held his electric shield in one hand. He remained stony face as, on the other hand, he created his electric halbred. He stared at this figure as she just lounged as if shit was funny. She was disguised, wearing a funky little dress with a mask on her face. Drake twisted the corner of his lip.
“Drake, you look good. You saw that too, didn't you? It seems you need my help again.”
Drake was taken aback.
There was something familiar about their stalker. Except... Drake had mainly forgotten about Luna in the past ten years (And if he did, he would be way more hostile). The only thing on his mind was that this bastard had something to do with Father Wolf - either she was Father Wolf or worked for him. The latter was the only thing that stopped him from attacking off-rip. Drake raised the Halbread until it was mere inches away from the Spy's face.
”... Take that mask off, stand up against the tree, and keep your hands where I can see them,” Drake commanded. ”You're coming down with me. We're gonna find out who you are and why you're stalking us. And if you're that Wolf Bastard, you're dead.”
... And if you're working for him, you're also dead. Drake added internally as he kept his eyes on the Spy.
He wished that he had made electric handcuffs now.
Since Lisa was… incapacitated, a spider was not a good idea to get back to home base. So, the trio just used the money that Lisa had left over to get a taxi. They returned to their room… where Kimberly and Jordan were already inside. The two turned towards them as Jordan crossed her arms and asked the question…
“... Where the fuck were you three?!” Jordan asked. “Wait…”
She loudly sniffed.
“... Ya’ll reek of alcohol,” Jordan raised an eyebrow.
“Did ya’ll go out and get plastered?!” Kimberly asked, laughing just a little bit.
“Kim,” Jordan shook her head, then jabbed Kimberly with an elbow. “Stop laughing.”
"This is us rebelling," Saskia said, walking right past Jordan and Kimberley and falling down onto their bed.
"Yeah, you can’t keep us locked up forever! How are we going to live our lives like that! We’ve missed so much!" Ella shouted. "Sure, we got drunk, but that’s living our life!"
"We did leave you a note this time."
While this was going on, Lisa flopped on her bed, spit up more bile, then passed out.
“Have you three forgotten that there is literally an army of murderous monsters looking for you…?” Kimberly asked, narrowing her eyes.
”We can take them," Saskia said dismissively.
“I get it, ya’ll have a lot of catching up to do,” Jordan said, “but you all pulled a huge stunt a few days ago, and they are hot on ya’ll ass.”
Jordan shook her head, “Where did ya’ll even go?”
"Oh we went to Lupe's place! It was pretty great!"
”Not a single society member came after us," Saskia said, closing their eyes. They really wanted to go back to sleep like Lisa, but they couldn't leave Ella to deal with this cause she'd fuck up. ”We've got someone on the inside. She'll definitely help us."
“Look,” Jordan shook her head,”We’re not trying to act like your parents, but we are working together he-”
Lisa loudly dry heaved more bile. Kimberly stepped over and rolled Lisa onto her side.
“We’re working together, and we need to be on the same page here in case something happens,” Jordan said.
”... We did a lot for you three, despite it all,” Kimberly added, looking over her shoulder. “Is it too much to ask you three to stay put when we ask?”
"Yeah, being trapped sucks," Ella said.
"It would be fine if you actually told us what you were doing," Saskia propped themselves up on their elbows to actually look at Jordan and Kimberley. ”You say we're working together, but you don't exactly keep us in the loop. You do just tell us what to do. It's not very equal."
“We’re doing the same thing ya’ll should be doing: staying put,” Jordan answered.
When Jordan finished speaking, Kimberly pulled out her magical camera and said,
“Occasionally we spy on the Society using this but it's difficult to do so sometimes.”
"... Well I guess it's fine then," Saskia held up their hands in a half surrender gesture.
"Ohhhhh," Ella jumped over to Kimberley, sticking her face right next to the camera. "How does it work for spying?"
“It's simple, all I need is a picture of that place and I can just focus on it to see what’s going on there!” Kimberly excitedly said.
"Whoa that's cool! So you can spy on anything you have a photo of… do you need to take the photo? Oh, can we see it working?" Ella asked excitedly.
Saskia, on the other hand, narrowed their eyes. "You haven't used on it to spy on our room at all, have you?"
“... And see what?” Kimberly snorted, “You all fighting over the laptop again?”’She slapped a hand on her hip.
"So you haven't been watching," Saskia nodded knowingly. "I guess we can lay low now, since you've explained… but we did make a good connection. We have someone in the society now."
“Just don’t get too comfy with her, tho’,” Jordan said, putting a hand on her hip. “You still don’t know her all too well.”
"... too late," Saskia said ominously.
“Alright, just let us know before you do something crazy,” Kimberly said. “Okay?”
"Alright, promise!" Ella nodded. "We’ll let you know next time- oh, and you can come along!"
"Yeah, you both need to have fun too," Saskia agreed.
“Don’t worry,” Kimberly said as she walked towards the door with Jordan in tow. “... We have plenty of fun on our own.”
She stepped out the door before poking her head through and saying, “Don’t have too much fun.”
She vanished out of sight, and the door closed behind them.
"All I want is a nap," Saskia muttered, lying back down. She was fucking tired.
"The laptop’s mine, then!" Ella grinned, going over to grab it.
Lisa’s phone began ringing….
It was stuffed into the pocket of her unconscious body.
Saskia rolled over, climbing off her bed and onto the other one. She had to move Lisa a bit to actually get to her pocket, pulling out the phone and answering it just before it automatically hung up.
“... Mami?” Lupe hesitantly asked.
"Hey," Saskia said. Ella jumped up onto the bed beside her, leaning in to hear. "Sorry, had to find the phone."
“Mami! How are you?!” Lupe asked. “Is the lightweight still spewing? Or do you want me to get straight to the point?”
"She’s passed out," Saskia snorted, patting Lisa’s leg as if Lupe could see her doing it. "Yeah, straight to the point."
“So… I got word that some out-of-towners are coming to make a deal with the Society! They're from your home city, too!” Lupe laughed.
Saskia tilted her head. ”Who?"
“... Dollhouse,” Lupe answered.
"... Who?" Saskia asked again. She’d literally never heard of them.
“Oh, right, right, I forgot again,” Lupe said. “I don’t know much about them myself. They’re like the boogeymen of Florida, mami!”
Lupe began her explanation, “They sell magical goods like a black market, mami! Potions, magic, weapons, artifacts, you name it, mami! However, there’s a reason why everyone was so scurred of them in Florida….”
”Why? Were they going round killing people mob style? Torturing people? Oh, did they kill people-"
"Stoooop!" Ella wailed.
"Fine. Why are people so scared of them?"
“Beats me, mami,” Lupe answered and Saskia could probably hear the shrug, “Point is, they went to St. Portwell - no! Point is that they are coming here to make some type of deal.” Lupe paused,
“... I know at least two members of the Endless Seven will be there.” Lupe added.
That had Saskia sitting up, looking at Ella, who grinned excitedly. "When and where?"
“... This Saturday, mami,” Lupe answered, “Dollhouse might be in the city already.”
Saturday… Saskia wasn't actually sure what day it was, but it must be soon. ”Alright. We'll be there… hopefully we can take out the endless seven members and stop the deal."
"We have to tell Kim!" Ella said in her ear.
"Oh yeah," Saskia intoned. ”We'll bring along our parents."
“Tell whoever, mami!” Lupe said, “Ya’ll got my number? Or… you can get it from Lisa’s phone! Whatever you think is best. I still need to finish cleaning up my apartment!”
”She doesn't have a password, so we can get it," Saskia replied. Even if she did… It would probably be Adora's birthday. ”I'll let you get back to cleaning… thanks for the info."
"Next time you should come round to our hotel room and party!" Ella shouted, leaning in close enough to be heard.
“Sure! When ya’ll vomit all over the place it's not on me to clean up!” Lupe laughed. “Catch you on the flipside, mami!”
"Don't worry… I'll have developed something to stop it by then," Saskia said, rather ominously. ”See you, try to stay alive."
Saskia hung up, putting Lisa's phone back down on the table. Call over, Ella immediately grabbed the laptop and jumped onto the other bed to watch anime. It looked like it'd be up to Saskia to go tell Kimberley and Jordan, but there wasn't a rush. First… she looked at Lisa's prone body.
"Hmm, maybe I can finally practice blood letting…"
I made another fun adjustment to adepts that wasn't just a concept used in earlier Recollections rps that just got glossed over. This is meant to be another fun interaction thingy for the Adept characters.
Another technique for Casting is known as Joint-Casting, a testament to the bonds and synchrony of two or more Adepts. When these Adepts share a profound emotional connection, it opens new avenues as these Adepts can craft potent spells regardless of Lux or affinity. This connection allows them to create spells similar to regular spell crafting (trial and error), except now it requires synchrony with a group of people - thus, the margin for error is far higher. However, if successful, a Joint-Cast is insanely powerful as long as the emotional bond persists. Adepts can either be the same color or different colors to Joint-Cast. For example, two Red Adepts can create a powerful explosion of fire. A Green and Purple Adept can create a tornado of temporal rejuvenation. Using Joint-Casting, Adepts can make powerful spells that complement each other’s strengths and compensate for each other's weaknesses.
Thankfully, Lupe was gracious enough to share her location with the three as they went on their late-night excursion. Lisa’s jumping spider made its way through the urban landscape of Mirage Springs with uncanny precision and speed - it didn’t take them too long to get to Lupe’s location. However, they quickly traveled through a park as Lisa acted as the navigator and driver, hopping from tree to tree like it was nothing. Leaves, nests, and birds were disturbed, but the trio eventually saw Lupe sitting on a bench. Lisa hopped out of the tree they were in, landed on the ground down the pathway, and then shrunk and dispelled the spider as they walked over to Lupe.
Lupe stood up, smiling,
"Mamasitas!,” she exclaimed, bridging the gap with a warm embrace. Lupe's affectionate hug lingered for a moment before she released Lisa.
”What are you doing hanging out at a park at night by yourself!?” Lisa snorted.
“Ahhhhh, mami,” Lupe said, flickering her hand before she slapped it onto her hip, “Trust me, nothing bad is gonna happen to me.”
She looked at them, a mischievous glint in her eyes, before she quipped, “Did the helicopter parents finally let ya’ll go?”
"We ran away," Saskia intoned.
"Yeah, they were gonna lock us up another few days!" Ella said, shaking her head. Sure, she loved watching anime all day, but they had more pressing things to do! "It's not like we'd actually done anything stupid this time."
"We've learned our lesson from the last time…" Saskia agreed. "No more jumping out windows."
”I mean,” Lisa shrugged. ”We gotta lot of catching up to do, I guess.”
“Why do you say that?” Lupe asked. “Actually, do you mind if we play a thousand questions?”
She tapped her fingers together as she gave them a wide smile.
“Because I gotta thousand queeeeeeestions!” Lupe said.
”Oh! Someone curious about me!” Lisa answered, hopped up and down.
"Ohhhh a thousand questions! It's just like back when we were- you know when we used to hang out with all our old friends!" Ella cut herself off from mentioning the Stygian Snake by name. "Ask away!"
Saskia looked at her two friends, then sighed. "... Sure."
Lupe clapped her hands together.
“... Who are you three? And where did you come from? Wait, don’t answer that,” Lupe began before she shot them finger guns. “You three ain’t from this planet. Ya’ll are from Mars.”
"Oh, well, technically I'm inspired by Sailor Moon, but there's also a Sailor Mars who-"
"Not what she meant," Saskia cut off Ella with an eye roll. "Who are we is a bit of a vague question. We're Saskia, Ella and Lisa."
"We're magical girls!" Ella said, not much more helpfully. "Fighting darkness wherever it may be!"
“Okay, but, mami, I watch some anime,” Lupe began, “What fuckin’ magical girls grow spider legs out their back and which magical girls shoot blood tentacles like it’s a real weird ass hentai!”
"Us! Not any amazing fictional magical girls, but special real life magical girls!" Ella declared, hand on her heart as if she was making some sort of massive statement. "You just haven't watched enough anime! There's plenty of dark magical girl anime- don't make me name any -and look all three of us are super cute! This is magical girl discrimination."
“Ooooooh, I’m going to make you name some, mami!” Lupe quickly retorted.
"Uh, uh, I can't do it off the top of my head!" Ella shouted.
”Doesn't matter! We're the magical girls even if there aren't any like Lisa and Saskia in actual anime!" Ella huffed, nearly stomping her foot but just stopping herself from acting that childish. "Magical girls come in all shapes and forms! It's a state of mind!"
“Okay, sure, sure…” Lupe laughed, crossing her arms. “But, you know, that doesn’t answer my question. You told me what you are, but I still don’t know who you are. Or maybe I need to get specific because I see you three start drifting.”
"Yeah, I don't really get what you mean," Ella tilted her head in confusion. "That is who I am."
Lupe facepalmed, keeping that arm wrapped around her chest.
“Let me try another way,” Lupe shook her head, laughing. “What’s your stories? Where are you girls from? Is that better, mami?”
"Ohhhh… St Portwell! All three of us are from there," Ella replied, finally seeming to understand. She then awkwardly looked at Lisa and Saskia. Anything beyond that, their stories, was a bit harder to explain. But Kimberley and Jordan had eventually believed them… "Alright, you gotta promise to believe us, cause our story is pretty crazy."
”More like we're missing years of it," Saskia shrugged.
"So, we died ten years ago, and just got brought back to life a few days ago."
Lupe put a hand on her hip, tilting her head, “... I mean, magic leads to all sorts of weird shit.”
She shrugged, “But how? Someone brought you back I guess?”
"The Hound," Saskia said. "Someone called in a favour."
"Yeah, he wouldn't tell us who, though! Just that we had to do two things for him to properly come back," Ella shoved a hand in her pocket as she spoke, just to make sure her channeller was in there. Just in case. "First is to kill you know who- that's why we're so focused on it! I mean, he's a bastard anyway, but we gotta kill him to not die again!"
Lupe paused for a moment.
“... Maaaaami, do you actually trust that he will keep his word?” She asked, “He’s basically the Devil.”
"The Hound? Well, we don’t really have a choice." Ella shrugged.
"It’s do as he says or die," Saskia added. "Not really a matter of trust."
"Yeah! And what’s the worst that’ll happen? We’ve already died! If he doesn’t actually bring us back at least we got an adventure outta it!"
Lupe smiled,
“I dunno, get that bastard to sign a contract and take him to ghost court if he tries something.” Lupe shrugged.
"Oh, is that a thing? Would that really work?" Ella’s eyes lit up, and she rocked back and forward in excitement. "Let’s do it! How do we write a contract- oh but he’s not got hands, how would he sign? Let’s-"
"That is not a thing,” Saskia rolled their eyes, before glancing over at Lisa. "Hey, Lisa, you’ve been awfully quiet… Are you alright? Is there something on Lupe’s chest?"
Lisa jumped, she was previously twiddling her thumbs the whole time.
”... Oh, me!? Nothing! Nothing! I’m fine!” She then smiled widely.
Lupe looked down at her chest, asking out loud, “.., Is there something on my tatas, mami?”
Saskia looked at Lupe’s chest, then at Lisa, then back. An evil smile tugged the corners of their lips. "Ohhhh I see.”
"What do you see?!" Ella asked, looking between all of them, a little confused. Then it dawned on her. "Oh! I get it and agree, Lisa!"
She turned back to Lupe, hands on her hips. "We didn’t get our money’s worth with that private dance earlier!"
“Oh, sweetheart,” Lupe laughed, before she flicked her hand. “That ship has saaaaaaaailed.”
"Awwwww," Ella pouted.
"That’s not what we’re here for.” Saskia rolled their eyes before narrowing their eyes at Lupe. "We answered your question, now it’s your turn. Why are you in the Society, but not in the Society?”
Lupe’s smile turned flat as she shook her head, “Look… it’s a long story. I’m not sure how much you know, but you should know that they’re basically trying to force every Paranormal in Mirage Springs into the Society.”
She sighed, “Which included my two little brothers, Diego and Alejandro… who were in a street gang. When the Society took over, they came for them, and being the two hard-headed bastards they were; they fought back.”
She hung her head, shaking it for a moment before she said, “The Society… killed them… and when they came for me, I had no choice, mami. But, they were my brothers. I can’t let this shit slide.”
"That’s…" Ella’s bottom lip trembled, eyes watering up. "So sad… I’m so sorry! We’ll make sure to avenge them for you."
"Yeah, sorry to bring up bad memories,” Saskia said monotonously. "So you’re with them for survival, but you don’t want to be. Pretty easy choice between death and joining them.”
"Uh, we didn’t choose to join them?" Ella tilted her head. They’d been given that same choice, basically, when they broke into the bank.
"We’ve already died,” Saskia shrugged. "If you’re in the Society, you must know some stuff people out of it don’t, right?”
“Of course, mami-” Lupe paused momentarily and turned her head towards Lisa, who was twiddling her thumbs. She looked down the second Lupe turned her way, and Lupe shrugged. “... of course, mami. But, enough about the Society for tonight. Bad memories. Too many bad memories. How about we hang out?”
She laughed before she jabbed a thumb in Lisa’s direction, “I know your friend here would love it. She saw me naked one time, and now she’s madly in love.”
”... Me?!” Lisa shook her head, looking to the left and right. ”I-I’m not in l-love! I’m o-okay! A-okay! See?!” She awkwardly smiled.
"She’s just weird,” Saskia said.
”N-no, you!” Lisa stammered out.
"Oh, oh, if we’re hanging out, we should watch anime! I have ten years worth to catch up on! I bet we can find one we all like, it’ll be amazing, oh- maybe a darker one will fit… Or something happy to lighten the mood, ahhh, there’s so many!" Ella pulled out her new phone and started looking up anime. "What kind of stuff to you like, Lupe?"
Lupe walked over to Ella and gently pushed her hand down with the phone.
“No, mami,” Lupe began, “We’re going to live tonight! No anime! No nerd shit! No nothing! We’re gonna party!”
”Like the kind of party with alcohol and music? The kind all the cool kids used to have?" Ella asked. She wasn’t sure if that sounded fun… Anime was where she was comfortable!
Lupe laughed, “Yes, like the cool kids.”
"Sounds… fun, let’s try it,” Saskia said. "But we don’t have IDs.”
“Oh yeah…” Lupe shook her head, “... You three were dead… shit.”
She put a hand on her chin, “Well, ya’ll can just come to my apartment! I live by myself, and it’ll be safer for ya’ll anyway! Say, do ya’ll got any money so I can buy some booze for us?”
”Liiii-saaaaaa~" Ella sang, turning to Lisa with a wide grin. ”Do we have any left over from our shopping trip?"
"I’ve got ten dollars left from buying my life,” Saskia offered, pulling out a ten dollar note.
”Y-yes, w-we got tons - lots of money, loads of m-money!” Lisa stammered out as she pulled out a wad of twenties from her dress pocket. ”I-is this e-enough!?”
Lupe walked over, and grabbed it.
”Maaaaami,” Lupe smiled as she counted the money. ”Re-lax.”
”O-okay!” Lisa stammered again.
“You need some liquor in your system so you’d calm the fuck down,” Lupe laughed, as she took a few twenties off the top and handed it back to Lisa. “And word of advice: don’t just hand all your money away like that. Not everyone is like me.”
She laughed, counted the money, and gestured for them to come along.
“Let’s go, let’s get the fuck out of here before anyone starts getting suspicious!”
After a trip to the nearest liquor store (in which Lupe left the three in the car for obvious reasons), Lupe opened the door to her apartment, holding the door knob with one hand and a brown-bag of liquor in the other hand. She laughed as she looked over her shoulder and said,
“Come in, guuuuuuuuuuuuurls!” Lupe purred. “Hurry up before the Society gets ya’!”
”Wow…” Lisa said, looking around. ”This place looks nice.”
“Oh, you don’t gotta flatter me, mami,” Lupe began as she entered the kitchen and placed the bag down. “It’s a home. So, get comfortable! Just don’t get too comfortable because I don’t want you putting your naked asses on my furniture!” She then laughed.
"We've been stuck in a holiday Inn for days, so this is really nice," Saskia said, raising an eyebrow and looking at the sofa. She sat down on the floor in front of it, leaning her back against it. "Ass on the floor alright?"
"Ooo," Ella was excitedly looking around the whole place, stopping to stare at every single decoration. ”It's so cute! Totally not what I expected!"
“Now, gimme oooooooone second!” Lupe laughed from the other room, as they probably heard the sound of a bottle of soda (maybe the soda they also grabbed?). After a few moments, Lupe walked into the room, holding three glasses of Coke(?) and placing them on the table in front of them. “Okay, this is coke with a little bit-” Lupe pinched her finger “-of rum. Take a little sip and tell me what you think. Then, after you finish, give it a few minutes then tell me how you feel, okay?”
Lisa stared at it momentarily before she shrugged, ”It’s just a little bit of rum!” She laughed, grabbing the glass.
“It’s your first time drinking,” Lupe said. “Mami, take it easy. You’ll get fucked up faster than you think. You small, too!”
"Ooooo, let's try," Ella grabbed a glass and just looked at it at first. She took a big swig, nose screwing up at the slightly harsher hit from the alcohol. But after a while it was quite pleasant! "Oh, that's good! I can see why people drink!"
"It's alright," Saskia said, sipping it as if it tasted just like normal coke.
"Sooo… what do you normally do at parties?"
“... And that’s the problem right there, mami! You've never been to a party before, have you?” Lupe laughed as she disappeared into the halls of her apartment. There was a little bit of rummaging before she came back, carrying a party speaker with both hands. She placed it in the middle of the living room, turning it on as she flicked through her phone for a moment.
”... Our… o-old friends had lots of parties, but we n-never went,” Lisa stammered, drinking more of the coke. Before taking a deep breath and drinking some more, she paused momentarily and shuddered before downing the rest of it.
“Why not, mami?” Lupe asked, laughing. “Wait, hold up, before you three…”
She paused for a moment.
“… y’know, what have you done?” Lupe said, “Have you ever been to the prom? Ever held hands… ever, you knoooow…”
She stopped going through her phone as she scrunched her face; her expression changed as she rubbed her chin.
“... Swiped your card?”
"What does that mean?" Ella tilted her head, taking a big long drink. ”But I hold plenty of hands! Me and Lisa spoon every night! Last night Saskia joined in too, it was pretty awesome."
"Haven't swiped my card, don't want to swipe my card," Saskia muttered, holding up their glass. They'd silently finished it off. "Another, please."
”... My card?” Lisa tilted her head.
“Oh, my God,” Lupe held her mouth to contain the laughter. “You three haven’t lost your virginity yet. Isn’t that precious?” She said in a sultry tone before putting the hand with a phone on her hip.
“I mean, there’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s sooooooooo adorable, Mami,” Lupe said.
"We were sixteen!" Ella blushed. "I- I've never even had a crush, why would I have sex?!"
"Ella's very behind," Saskia said. "She's too busy wanting to date anime women."
"That's not true! I don't want to date them! I just… I'd treat them better than the men they get with!"
”Then why don’t you come date me!” Lisa shouted.
"Well you never showed interest?" Ella tilted her head in confusion.
“It’s okay… everyone goes at their own pace, mami,” Lupe laughed. “But, date real women! Some of them are gorgeous, look at me!”
She then posed, playfully slapping her butt.
Ella couldn't help but stare at Lupe's ass, lips slightly parted. "You're- you're right, they are- you are, but- but- I don't even know where to start!"
“Here, mami,” Lupe purred. “Riiiiiight here!”
"What?!" Ella froze, visibly loading. She went through a few expressions before settling on an awkward smile. ”You're really nice and attractive, Lupe, but we just met each other, I don't think starting to date on the first meeting is for me!"
“And we don’t have to date,” Lupe said. “You need to interact with real people outside your little friend group. Outside your own little world, mami!”
”But how do I even meet people?" Ella asked, frowning. "What if I just meet people like that creep Stauber?!"
"It's kind of hard when we're being hunted in the city," Saskia noted.
"Hey, no society talk, that's a mood dampener!"
“... Well, you’ve met me,” Lupe shrugged.
"You attacked us, I don't want to survive magical fire to meet people!" Ella wailed.
“... Oh, dios mios,” Lupe facepalmed, shaking her head.
“No offense, but you three seem like a bunch of shut-ins. I’m sorry,” she said, flicking through her phone. You three need to lay off the internet. Lay off the videogames. And definitely lay off the anime. And let loose. Interact with real people, and live in the moment! This will do you some good because - ah! Found it!”
She smiled as she looked up at the three with a devious grin.
“Okay, I don’t mean to keep bringing it up, but you three have been dead for ten years! Three! That’s a long ass time…” Lupe began. “You know what that means, right, mami?”
”... W-what?” Lisa began.
“It means…” Lupe began, and at this moment, the music began.
“... You three have a lot of living to do.”
"... If this music is living, I don't think we missed out much!" Ella laughed, very blunt.
Saskia rolled their eyes. "It's not just about that… she's right. We've got a lot of catching up to do- to living."
They raised their glass.
“You’re missing the point, mami,” Lupe rolled her eyes as she stuck her phone in her pocket. “Here, lemme get you three some more to drink so you’ll get it….”
Sometime later, the party was still ongoing, as the four got more and more drinks… becoming more and more intoxicated.
””Mooooooore! Lisa laughed.
“Oh, now you turnt now, mami,” Lupe laughed, holding a drink of her own in her hand—which appeared to be coke. “I think ya’ll’s drinks are more rum than coke now—but be careful! Anyone feelin… feelin’ like they're gonna throw up? Because I’ll just open a window, you can vomit out there!” Lupe laughed.
”Fuuuuuuuuuuuck, no!” Lisa slurred, swinging her head around. ”I’m a big girl! I can handle my *hiccup* liquor!”
“... Mami, you barely had any,” Lupe matter-of-factly said.
"I feel fine!" Ella said cheerfully, with a big grin. It wasn't really a lie - she felt a light buzz, like her head was filled with soft clouds, and she was even more cheerful! But she wasn't like Lisa. She took a big drink, finishing off her glass again. "Awwww but Lisa, you're really not a big girl! You're like. The tiniest little girl. Very cute."
Saskia silently nodded in agreement, constantly sipping from her glass. She was still sitting in the same position in the floor, back against the couch, looking perfectly fine.
”H-heeeeeeeeeeey!” Lisa slurred, waving her body around back and forth. Before she stopped, and pouted. ”I’m not that small! Everyone just says I am! Treat me like a big girl!”
“Mami!” Lupe shouted, “Why the fuck were you staring at me earlier!?”
”... Ma-*hiccup*-mami!” Lisa repeated Lupe’s endearing name for them. ”I just think you’re so pretty, mami! And-*hiccup*-I just wanted another dance, mami! That’s it!”
“That’s it?!” Lupe laughed. “You could have just come out and said it, mami! I would have loved you to have been up front instead of staring at me like that! But I forgot!”
Lupe threw her hands up.
“You’re shy as fuuuuuuuck!” Lupe laughed, drinking some more. “Come out of your shell already, mami! Fortune favors the bold, you know! You want something, and you can’t get it with all that shy shit!”
”... I just lock up!” Lisa admitted.
“Naaaaaaaah!” Lupe stuck her hand out. “Don’t want to hear it!”
"Lupe's right!" Ella exclaimed. "You gotta be more confident, Lisaaaaa! You're super cute and bubbly and the spiders in the morning aren't great but otherwise you're like a! Nine outta ten! Anyone would do a strip dance for you if you just asked! Just say what you wanna sayyyyy!"
"Yeah," Saskia nodded, really adding to the conversation.
”Fiiiiiiiine,” Lisa turned towards Lupe, and said, ”... Get naked.”
“... What the fuck, mami!?” Lupe laughed, slapping her thigh. “Okay, you’re going too much in the wrong direction! You don’t just ask people to get naked.”
”... I didn’t ask.” Lisa added.
“Oooh, feisty!” Lupe purred.
"Aawwwwww you're so cuteeee when you're assertive!" Ella shouted. Out of nowhere she practically pounced on Lisa, wrapping her arms around her and shaking her back and forth. "It was kinda- like an oh whoa moment when the shy character in an anime turns out to be real badass! Yeah! I always love that! It was kinda hot, Lisaaaa, you could totally get anyone you want like that!"
"Yeah," Saskia said, once again adding nothing to the conversation.
Lisa’s eyes lit up, she clenched her fists and said,
”... Think I can get Adora?!”
"Yeah," said Saskia.
"You totally can!" Ella grinned, hugging Lisa even tighter. "I bet when we get back she'll be all like ‘oh Lisa, it's been ten years and all I've been thinking about is you, let's live happily together forever now that you're back, I love youuu!’ I bet all my money on it!"
”And then we can get married! And for our honeymoon, we can go beat up Olivia!” Lisa hopped up and down in her seat.
"Yeah! Show her that your tiddies are only for Adora!" Ella shouted.
”... And you,” Lisa blew her a kiss.
"And me?" Ella's eyes widened, and she blushed, not so subtly looking at Lisa's chest… and then immediately looking away.
Lupe broke out laughing as she got up, “Know what? You three need more to drink!” She threw back the rest of her drink, walked back into the kitchen, and made three more drinks. “That’s the last of the rum! But we still got vodka! At this point, ya’ll probably stomach anything right now, right?! Right? Right?!”
"So long as it's alcoholic I'll drink it!" Ella said. She was really enjoying this drinking thing! It was a lot of fun! "Make them really strong! I wanna get to wherever Lisa issss! That looks fun!"
“... Can you handle where Lisa is, mami?” Lupe asked. “No offense to mami! But she’s a lightweight! She only had two drinks and she is fucked up!”
”.... Hey!” Lisa shouted,
"I can handle it! I can handle anything! Anyway, it's not fair only Lisa's drunk. Look, me and Saskia," Ella gestured to Saskia then herself, "are barely affected! I'm like… 20% drunk! That's barely any! I need eight more strong ones!"
"Yeah," Saskia said, again.
“You know what!?” Lupe shouted as she got up, “... You’re fucking on, mami!”
After more drinks, the four are well passed their limit. Lisa was face down on the floor, with her body comically propped up against the sofa. Saskia hadn't moved the whole time. Ella was on her feet, practically bouncing between the walls as she ran between random decorations with excited gasps. However, Lupe was down to her bra and panties as she sat on the floor.
It's only been an hour.
“Maaaaaaaaaami! Get up!” Lupe shouted, “We gotta play spin the bottle! There is no tapping out now!”
"Yayyyyy spin the bottle!" Ella yelled, running over to Lupe and practically falling to her knees. "Wait, what's spin the bottle?!"
“Dios mios, mami! Dios mios!” Lupe laughed as she drank some tequiila straight from the bottle. She wiped her mouth, and said, “You spin the bottle and whoever it points you gotta fuckin’ kiss them or you’re a pussy!”
Lisa flipped forward, landing on her back with a thump,
”... I AM THE SPIDER QUUUUUEEN!” She screamed very randomly.
"AHHHHH!" Ella screamed, jumping away from Lisa. Once she got over that panic, she got back to what was important - making sure she was alright with kissing anyone in the room. She glanced between the other three… easy decision, of course she was!
Ella slapped her hand down on the ground, shouting, "let's do this! I'll show you all that I'm not a- a pussy!"
"I am," Saskia said, a single tear suddenly falling down her cheek. "I couldn't- hic- kiss her- hic- before she- hiccup- died."
“That's why we are making up for lost time, mami,” Lupe laughed. “Now get your ass over here! Or else I throw the bottle!”
Lisa got up, stumbled over and plopped down, as Lupe turned her head towards Ella. “... You first. Spin it, mami! Spin it!”
"Ok, let’s go!" Ella leaned over, giving the bottle a dramatic spin. It spun and spun until it pointed to… herself! Ella gawped at it for a moment, then looked at Saskia (who had shuffled forward and with tears still running down their otherwise cold face), then back at the bottle. "I spin again, right?"
She reached for it, and gave it another spin. This time it was a lot slower, meandering around until it pointed to Lupe. Ella gulped.
“... Pucker the fuck up, mami!” Lupe shouted as she did just that.
"Ah-ah- okay!" Ella stopped panicking about it and pursed her lips, going right in for… the most innocent fucking peck on the lips known to man. She immediately leaned back and grinned like she did something amazing. "Done!"
"Why couldn’t that be me," Saskia whispered, covering their eyes.
“Aaaaaaah, you call that a kiss, mami?” Lupe laughed. “I thought you said you weren’t going to be a pussy?!”
"That was a kiss! What else do you do?" Ella shouted, looking a bit confused, before waving at the bottle. "Next! Lisa, you spin!"
Lisa didn't say a word as she drooled, reached forward and spun the bottle. It did a few circles before landing on…
.., Ella.
Without even a second to think, she pounced on Ella giving her the complete opposite of what Ella gave Lupe. An aggressive and very sloppy kiss with tongue. Too much tongue.
Ella didn’t react at first, because she was too busy going through some extreme gay panic, but when she did it was like a lightbulb moment! That was what kissing was! So Ella gave back as good as she got from Lisa, aggressive with far too much tongue! Until she had to pull back to breath. And Lisa smiled.
"Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy," Saskia hiccuped, tears now a torrent down her face. They dramatically fell onto their side, looking like a kicked over statue in the rain - expression perfectly blank in contrast to the constant crying. "Whyyyyy everyone but meeeeee… Life’s not fair. Life’s so cruel! Ah, the darkness, it’s too much! Why am I the only one- the only one- who doesn’t get to kiss her?! Oh whyyyy, cruel world!"
"Okayyy," Saskia sniffed. She didn't even bother getting up, just reaching over and grasping for the bottle, sending it spinning, to point at…
Lisa.
Saskia dragged herself up and towards Lisa, hands landing heavily on her shoulder. She leaned forward, basically leaning against Lisa, and kissed her. There was not much tongue but there were a lot of teeth, as if Saskia was trying to bite Lisa's lips off.
Lisa pulled back and looked to Lupe.
”... Is there supposed to be teeth?!” Lisa shouted.
“... No, mami,” Lupe shook her head, she flatly spoke.
"Oh," Saskia blinked very slowly. "I didn't know… want to try again? No teeth. Promise."
Lisa didn't even say a response before she pounced Saskia and forcefully connected their lips. Saskia was taken enough by surprise that she couldn't bite Lisa's lips, but she did kiss back with equal fervour.
Ella watched with wide eyes and a slightly open mouth. It felt like this was unlocking something in her… what, she didn't know. "Uhhh… is it your turn, Lupe?"
“Ooooooh, you’re right, mami!” Lupe laughed as she spun the wheel. It did a few laps before landing on Saskia. Lupe smiled.
“... Before we do this, relax. Second, don’t lead with your tongue or teeth, but lips. Use more lips than anything. Got it?”
Saskia furrowed her brow, visibly thinking about it. They then nodded, shuffling over to Lupe and leaning in to kiss her. Just lips (and a little bit of teeth, but just a little).
“... Awwwww damn it I should have said no teeth at all!” Lupe shouted, “How do you use teeth to kiss?! How?!”
Saskia leaned back, pouting. ”I just like biting things."
"Yeah, you should see Saskia's childhood teddy bear, it's mailed to death!” Ella explained.
Saskia shrugged. "Vampires made biting kisses look hot."
“Whatever you say, mami!” Lupe said, “Hold on! Another fuckin’ round!?”
She got up, went into the kitchen and got more drinks. Except they were probably more liquor than anything. She sloppily held them under one arm and they sloshed liquids everywhere with each step. She gave each of the girls one, and thrust her own in the air in a weird toast.
“... To fuckin’ livin’ life to its fullest!” Lupe damn near screamed.
"Hell yeah! To life, and friendship!” Ella yelled, jumping up and holding up her glass… before downing it.
Saskia held up her glass and mumbled, "to more kissing."
”... To putting spiders in Olivia's underwear!” Lisa held out her glass and shouted.
And the night went on...
Light hit Ella’s eyes, rudely awakening her. She squinted against it, hand reaching out to try and pull her pillow over her face. Except she didn’t have a pillow… underneath her was something soft, but not a pillow. No. It wasn’t quite as soft.
Blearily blinking open her eyes, Ella found that she was lying on a still passed out Saskia’s chest. She shot up, immediately regretting it. Nausea roiled in her stomach and the light was still shining in her eyes. The start of the headache started pounding behind her eyes. She looked around the absolute carnage of the room.
Saskia was sleeping in the most weirdly contorted way - one arm flung over her face, the other twisted backwards, a leg pulled up towards her stomach and the other sticking out to the side.
Lisa was facedown in a puddle of her own vomit.
"Saskia, Lisa, are you alive?” Ella hissed, seriously worried about her friends’ states.
Lisa did not respond.
“... Well, rise and shine motherfuckas’,” Lupe came in… wearing grey sweat pants and a tank top (no bra). She had on sandals and a very wry grin on her face. “How do ya’ll feel? I should have known ya’ll were going to vomit all over my apartment.” She then laughed.
“It’s all good tho’; nothing a mop and some pinesol can’t fix!”
"I think Lisa’s dead!” Ella gasped. She shuffled over to Lisa on her knees as quickly as she could, arms going underneath her torso to hoist her up and into her arms. She very dramatically held Lisa in her lap, one arm supporting her back and the other touching her face. "Lisa! Lisa, come back to me!”
Lisa gagged… suddenly being aroused back to life as she clenched her mouth. Instead of a spew of vomit like the rest thought would come out, instead, she coughed up a bit of bile. She shook her head and said,
”... I am dyyyyyyyyyying!” She began, ”What did you do to meeeeeeeeeeeee!?”
“That’s called a hangover you lightweight,“ Lupe laughed. “It happens when you drink.”
”I never want to do that agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain!”
“Oh, mami,” Lupe laughed, “You’re trying to fight the Society and you got defeated by some rum and vodka?”
She stared at Lisa for a few moments.
“Just drink some water and eat some crackers, you’ll be back to normal in no time!” Lupe laughed again.
"I thought you were gone for good!” Ella said, not wanting to let go of Lisa in case she keeled over… But she was also worried about Saskia. So she shifted around and kicked Saskia’s leg. When she didn’t rouse, she did it again.
"Huhhhhh?" Saskia’s eyes shot open, and she groaned. She didn’t even get up, just rolling onto her side and curling up into a ball. "I feel… awful… this sucks… bleeding out was way… more fun…"
“Ya’ll a bunch of lil’ bitches,” Lupe laughed. “So, if you’re able to talk, you’re able to walk. Grab a sponge. Let’s get cleanin’!
"Sure thing!” Ella carefully put Lisa back down on the floor, and stood up. She grimaced as she was hit by a sudden dizziness… But when it went away she didn’t feel so bad. Headache and nausea, but nothing awful. Maybe she was quite good at this drinking thing! "I don’t feel so bad- I can do the others’ share too! Where do you keep the sponges?”
"I can help from here…" Saskia groaned. She fiddled around in her pocket for a minute before pulling out her knife, and placing it against the palm of her hand. After a moment’s consideration she cut it, blood sluggishly pooling to her back to form a very shaky looking but long tendril. "See."
“Alright, ladies!” Lupe shouted, before she lowered her head and grinned. She asked, “... How was it, though?”
”... You poisoned meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”
"I had a great time! I never knew there was so much to kissing! I always thought it looked kinda boring!” Ella laughed.
Saskia closed their eyes. "I want everyone to forget anything I did last night."
“Ssssh… That was our special thing, mami,” Lupe raised a hand. “They don’t happen at every party. But… I’m glad.”
"Thank god," Saskia mumbled. "Partying is hard."
"But fun! Thank you, Lupe! You really showed us a good time last night. Now I know… I know that there’s more to life than anime.” Ella held a hand to her chest, wiping away an imaginary tear. "I think when we get home… I can finally… Put away my Tuxedo Mask body pillow and find a real partner.”
“Now, let’s get this cleaned up, so ya’ll can get a move on. I bet your parents are worried sick!” Lupe laughed.
30 | Kimberly Wendolyn Walton | She/Her."I will protect the world the only way I know how."
Description:
The internet superstar and sensation Kimberly Walton! Kimberly is famous worldwide for her hit show Projects: Worlds UnKnown. This began on YouTube to a modest following but gained immense following given its riveting tales, amazing special effects (it almost looks real), and charming host. Kimberly has dozens of stories of her fighting ghosts, monsters, and other beings and has built a captivating lore, except it's not fiction. Kimberly Walton is fighting these monsters that shouldn't exist and presenting them as fiction.
After a tragedy in her hometown, New Braunfels, Texas, she dedicated herself to fighting monsters and keeping the world safe herself. She is taking matters into her own hands as she doesn't trust organizations such as the PRA. She isn't alone; she's usually accompanied by her cameraman and best friend, a Purple Adept that she saved from certain death. With this show, Kimberly has become a force in the magical community while making everything look and sound fake. Kimberly has dispatched dozens of dangerous Apparitions from the shadows.
How did it all start?
As stated before, Kimberly was born and raised in New Braunfels, Texas. Her parents were retired Army veterans, and they met in service and settled down to live near her mother's hometown, San Antonio, Texas. Kimberly had a sister named Bethany, and Kimberly, at a young age, displayed a creative and fun-loving side that loved to read and enjoyed art, but her parents had a different plan; they wanted their daughter to follow in their footsteps. After all, doing this great honor was a part of the family tradition... but it wasn't in Kimberly's best interests. Bethany shared that she just wanted to be creative and fun-loving. The two girls were pretty much close childhood friends - Kimberly's only friend.
Kimberly had an early interest in photography. As a teenager, she would often wander around New Braunfels taking photos. Sometimes at night, to the chagrin of her father... which took a turn one night when she came across an abandoned cabin in the neck of the woods. A fire flickered inside, and curiosity got the best of Kimberly as she investigated. She found a cult conducting a ritual. This cult, known as the Cult of the Midnight Moon, gathered on the outskirts of town and performed a ritual that used an artifact known as The Artistic Integrity, a White Adept, and an Orange Adept to draw a photo of a different world. Using Artistic Integrity, they opened a portal through this photo and let in a dangerous Apparition known as Necron.
The first thing Necron did was go on a rampage and murder whatever cultist that it could get its hands on, and Kimberly saw it all... but the Artistic Integrity fell at her feet, and something told her to grab it before she turned on her heel and hauled ass. However, she did not see Necron open a portal to his world, which led to a wave of Apparitions and Abominable that plunged the city of New Braunfels into chaos! Feeling some sense of duty, Kimberly made it her mission to solve this chaos and save New Braunfels.
Acquiring several artifacts (Such as the Magispheres, The Vial, The Cube, etc.), Kimberly made some headway on defeating Necron's forces, but one night, she found getting mauled by Abominable creatures. Kimberly, as part of her sworn duty, fought off the monsters and used the vial to save the girl from the brink of death. After she came, the girl introduced herself as Jordan Nichols. Then, she showed appreciation for Kimberly by joining her on her mission, explaining that she was a Purple Adept. The two fought the forces of Necron, and, the leftovers from the Cult of the Midnight Sun.
It culminated in a final battle against Necron, and the two defeated the Apparition. Using The Artistic Integrity, she sealed Necron in a photo, thus ending Necron's reign of terror and defeating The Cult of the Midnight Sun. However, this forever changed Kimberly's eye and invigorated her with a newfound sense of courage, duty, and passion for the Paranormal. Thus, Kimberly dedicated her life to protecting the world from the unknown. The Cult of the Midnight Sun left behind plenty of knowledge through books and ancient texts that Kimberly and Jordan spent countless hours studying (Jordan learning some new spells in the process). Kimberly felt a deep-seated need to share her experiences with the world, to turn her passion for the paranormal into something more.
During this time of reflection, Kimberly decided to create "Project: Worlds Unknown," a web series chronicling her adventures as a Ghost Hunter and Paranormal Investigator. She saw the show as a platform to educate, entertain, and inspire others to embrace the unknown and confront their fears head-on. While traveling across the country and beyond with her new best friend, Jordan, in search of knowledge, allies, and artifacts to aid her in her quest to protect humanity from the darkness that lurks in the shadows.
Abstraction: One-Eye-Open - Artifact-Collection.
Kimberly is technically not a Paranormal-Being. Instead, she has a collection of different artifacts that she uses that give her the illusion of being Paranormal. Though she has an Emotional-Field and several magical weapons, she is practically a Paranormal-Being. She keeps all the artifacts she uses on her adventures on a belt (or in the case of the rings, around her fingers). Below are all the artifacts that she owns:
The Artistic Integrity: The crown jewel and first artifact that Kimberly ever found! The Artistic Integrity is a magical camera that originated from a mysterious Adept who sought to create a tool capable of capturing the essence of the supernatural world and harnessing its power for the forces of light. A tool capable of defending the defenseless against the forces of Apparitions, it has three main properties. First, The Artistic Integrity grants its wielder the ability to teleport to any location captured within a photograph. By focusing her will and channeling the camera's magic, Kimberly appears at the location depicted image in a flash of light.
She can teleport anywhere through these photos, even to other dimensions; however, it has an hour's cooldown between uses. The second ability is that Kimberly can peer into distant locations and observe events unfolding in real-time through photos by focusing on them and willing. The final and arguably most potent ability is that Kimberly can seal Apparitions through her photos by simply taking a picture of them using Artistic Integrity. She has to first battle the Apparition to the point where she can weaken it and then take the photo. Alternatively, she can keep taking photographs of the Apparition until it is sealed. Once sealed, the Apparition will be trapped inside of the picture until it is torn or damaged in any way.
Magispheres: These small, spherical orbs appear unassuming at first glance, but upon closer inspection, they reveal themselves to be potent weapons in Kimberly's arsenal. When thrown, the orbs bounce off surfaces with uncanny accuracy before detonating in an explosion of kinetic force. They have enough strength to send a grown man flying, and once they explode, they will return to Kimberly's hands.
The Cube: A small, unassuming cube of polished crystal, the Cube is a versatile defensive tool in Kimberly's arsenal. All Kimberly has to do is give it a tap, and it'll generate a shimmering forcefield around her (in the shape of a cube!), and the longer she holds it, the bigger the barrier will get until it can cover several city blocks. However, the larger Kimberly makes the barrier, the more fragile it'll become.
Jacob's Revolver: Created by an Orange/Red Adept named (you guessed it) Jacob. Jacob's Revolver is Kimberly's trusted sidearm, a finely crafted revolver with ornate etchings adorning its sleek metal surface. Each weapon chamber automatically imbues a bullet loaded into it with a different elemental property (Fire, earth, electricity, ice, wind, metal, and light). When the bullet hits a person or object, it will create a devastating explosion of that element. However, she sometimes forgets which bullet will shoot first, so sometimes Jacob's gun is more trouble than it's worth.
The Agility Ring: A black ring with white runes she keeps around her finger which grants Kimberly unparalleled swiftness and grace. As long as it's on her finger, Kimberly's balance, motor coordination, reflexes, speed, etc, are enhanced to supernatural levels, and she can move with supernatural agility. She can perform leaps, backflips, and runs at insanely high speeds, which is a crucial part of her artifact arsenal.
The Emotional-Ring: A blue ring that Kimberly keeps around her fingers which grants her, as you may have guessed, an Emotional-Field. This Emotional-Field has no unique properties or boons; it's a simple Emotional-Field that'll always be up as long as she has the emotional ring on.
The Vial: The primary healing tool that Kimberly has that she gained during the fight against Necron. This vial can convert any liquid that is poured inside of it into a potent magical concoction that possesses remarkable healing properties. When poured onto a wound, the liquid seals injuries, mends bones, and restores vitality rapidly. The vial is a precious resource in Kimberly's quest to protect the innocent and vanquish evil, offering aid and comfort to those in need in even the direst of circumstances.
Jordan.Nichols
31 | Jordan Destiny Nichols | She/Her."I know that things are understood in time... well, I understand that you don't understand."
Description:
A native of Philadelphia, Pennslyvania, and Kimberly Walton's best friend and partner in crime! Together, they travel the country and beyond, fighting malevolent Paranormal-Beings and making friends! However, there was a long road until she got to that point.
Jordan's story began in the lower-class parts of Philadelphia, and they grew up around plenty of people, family, and friends. Jordan was a bit of a social butterfly. Still, she always wanted the approval of others and did anything to be popular, which meant making stupid decisions such as bullying people - including her own damn family! However, she had one family member that she was close to, whom she treated like a sister! This gal was Madison Brown, and the two were tight and talked and hung out with each other constantly. Once she hit high school, it wasn't long until she became one of the "popular girls," which made her even worse, as she finally got the status and approval she desperately wanted. However, she would do anything to hold onto this status, which did not make her a better person.
This experience continued, and Jordan felt she was on top of the world! Until she hit graduation... and the worst day of her life occurred when she, Madison, and her friends went on a hardcore night of debauchery. Jordan was driving them around, drunk off her ass, and on a dare, Jordan ran a light and was hit by another car. The car was sent flying, hit another vehicle, and Jordan was knocked unconscious. Her cousin, Madison, hit her head and died, but Jordan didn't find this out until the following day. Then, her life fell apart as the pain of guilt and loss burdened her. She fell into a pit of depression; her family resented her for the death of Madison, and in her darkest hour, the friends that she worked so hard to get abandoned her.
However, Jordan went through her Kindling-Event and developed Purple Lux. She had no clue what to do with it, but after tinkering with it, Jordan developed some spells to travel back in time and undo that traumatic incident. However, she could never get the hang of it... and unfortunately, she was practically exiled from her hometown of Philadelphia to New Braunfels, Texas, and it was one hell of a culture shock. Living in a city where there are a majority of African-Americans to a town that was practically all-white was... something. However, Jordan lived with her cousins there and attended the University of Texas - while developing her spell catalog.
Things got weird as murders and other oddities occurred at night; Jordan just shrugged and minded her business. One night, while she stayed up late studying, she was attacked by a group of Abominable that broke into her house. She tried to escape but had no fighting spells in her spell book and was quickly overwhelmed. She thought it was the end before Kimberly came and saved her. At this point, Jordan was oblivious to the more fantastic world of magic, but she felt a sense of appreciation for Kimberly's actions.
Thus, she joined Kimberly on her mission to defeat Necron and The Cult of the Midnight Sun and was in the final battle. However, she had developed a friendship with Kimberly and saw Kimberly as one of her steadfast friends. So, out of a sense of friendship, a desire to atone for her actions, and a sense of adventure, she joined Kimberly as the cohost of her Project: Worlds Unknown show!
Abstraction: Adept - Purple Lux. Channeler: Madison Brown's Memorial Necklace.
Chronomancy:
Temporal-Pause: One of the first spells that Jordan had developed was a temporal field around herself in a dome. Everything else is frozen inside this dome, but due to Emotional-Fields, Jordan the Paranormal can move freely inside it. It's a potent spell that can outright negate specific abstractions usages as they will be frozen in time and unable to affect the world. However, Jordan can only keep this spell for up to ten minutes. The field will disappear once the duration is over, and time will resume.
Time Reversal: Another Spell that allows Jordan to reverse time in a sphere up to seven meters. In this sphere, Jordan can reverse the time of everything inside that lacks an Emotional-Field. However, Jordan can choose whether or not she is affected by it to heal wounds.
Teleportation: By bending time and space, Jordan can teleport herself and others in a sphere to anywhere she can picture.
Time Dilation Sphere: A sphere that allows Jordan to either slow down or speed up the time of anything inside of it. Unlike the rest of her spells, she can affect Paranormals and bypass Emotional-Fields - however, this sphere also affects her. This takes immense concentration and effort to use.
Telekinesis: A Purple Lux classic, moving objects with her mind. She can move several hundred pounds at a time and fire telekinetic blasts that'll launch a target.
Morningstar
Eons Old | Morningstar, the Father of Lies | He/Him."I will plunge the world into darkness for the sake of building a better one."
Description:
Considered to be the end-all be all Apparition.
Morningstar was an Apparition spawned from both the fear and belief of a Satanic entity and Morningstar lives up to that name. Morningstar is a part of the "Original Sins," a term used to describe a group of ancient malevolent Apparitions such as Hemorhagia, Babylon the Great, etc. However, he is considered the first and most dangerous of them all. He is older than most Apparitions and infamous for his cunning and devious plans. He has destroyed worlds and enslaved millions; he has been sealed, used as an Agent, and broken free several times over - and he was stopped several times. Very few would be willing to work with Morningstar, however unlike most Apparitions,, his plans are less overt and more subtle. He prefers to gather power in secret and enact his plans from the shadows.
Which describes his takeover of Mirage Spring's supernatural scene well. The Society started as one minor faction in a city entire of them, but Morningstar gained followers in different factions and eventually took them over one by one. Killing anyone who opposed him and did not have the sense to flee Mirange Springs when they had the chance. Now, he sits on top of the city as a king. However, he has plans that have the Hound worried, and his Society has the power and influence to give them the potential to become a multiversal threat.
Morningstar has abscised a poor sucker after tricking him out of his body, and he rarely makes personal appearances. Morningstar always prefers to have one of his minions do his dirty work, whether it's a grunt in The Society or The Endless Seven.

Mala'Boolaan
2,504 | Mala'Boolaan, the Walking Massacre. | He/Him."You may escape Morningstar, but you shall not escape I!"
Description:
The monstrous and hulking Mala'Boolaan.
A member of the Endless Seven, Mala'Boolaan is less of a general and more of a bodyguard and enforcer for Morningstar and the rest of the Endless Seven. He is a feared face in the streets of Mirage Springs, as he has torn many of Morningstar's enemies limb from limb. If somebody dares confront Morningstar, they will face the wrath and hellish strength of Mala'Boolaan, considered his most potent and vicious fighter.
However, Mala'Boolaan began life as one of Morningstar's first minions and was considered a failure. Despite his strength, Mala'Boolaan lacked intelligence (he could hardly speak!) and was cast away. However, this made Mala'Boolaan angry, and he confronted Morningstar... who threw him into The Pit for his actions. Mala'Boolaan did not give up, making him angrier as he went on a rage-fueled rampage and ripped apart anyone that got in his way, human and Abyssal Hunter alike. Eventually, Mala'Boolaan fought out of the Pit alone through brutality and anger, clawing his way out, and continued his rampage through the All-Verse.
His rampage was so vicious and brutal that he earned the title of The Walking Massacre. He eventually ended up in Shimmer after tearing the barriers between dimensions open and in Mirage Springs. He found that the Society had dug its roots in the city, and Mala'Boolaan had fought his way to the top! He was eventually confronted by The Endless Seven and killed two members of it on his way to Morningstar.
Here, Morningstar convinced Mala'Boolaan to forgive his rage and stand down... and offered him a spot on the Endless Seven. After all, he proved himself to be far from defective, and two spots opened. Thus, from then on, Mala'Boolaan has torn apart anyone who dared confront his new master, Morningstar.
Abstraction: Abominable - Hellish Feats of Strength.
An incredibly formidable and powerful fighter... to begin, Mala'Boolaan is strong. He possesses immense strength that puts him on par with some of the strongest Paranormal-Beings out there, and he has the strength to tear apart whoever is beneath him. He's just as durable and resilient as well, and he can keep fighting even if he sustains comical amounts of damage. Not only that, but he is capable of charging through opponents with his enhanced strength and speed. He is so strong that he can open portals by tearing reality apart. Mala'Boolaan also possesses an off-pyrokinetic ability that allows him to surround himself in fire and create glowing cracks in the ground that spew fire.
Vanessa.&.Clementine.Washington
26 | Clementine Ethel & Vanessa Sierra Washington | She/Her"The world is a mess." "And somebody's gotta keep it tidy."
Description:
They are Known as the "Clones" for a reason that shouldn't be hard to guess.
To the surprise of no one, they were born identical twins in Houston, Texas. However, they moved to St. Portwell, Oregon, before entering first grade. They had a relatively modest life; they were inseparable from one another. Clementine was always the wiser head of the pair, while Vanessa was always the bruiser that took nobody's shit. They grew up next door to the famous Adora Phoenix-Prescott, and the three formed a trio, with Adora ironically being the shortest but the loudest and most outspoken compared to the more chill twins. The three were always in the popular crowd, but their familiar love of Adora and sense of morality kept them straight and narrow, even if peer pressure would push them in other directions.
Life was typical for the twins; they were gold gymnasts in St. Portwell High and were otherwise very pleasant. However, one day, the tone in St. Portwell flipped like a switch; people were dying in boatloads, and other strange events were happening. Their best friend Adora, naturally, had all the answers: The Stygian Snake had attacked St. Portwell, and she was part of a Coven dedicated to stopping it. The rings that her grandfather gave her on his deathbed were some of the most powerful artifacts in the multiverse. The twins scoffed until Adora convinced them to put it on... and it was true. The twins joined the Sycamore Tree Coven and were known as the "Trinity" and fought the Stygian Snake and its strongest minions like it was nothing.
They were famous powerhouses in the Old Coven whose strength made them too valuable to get rid of, so the Old Coven had to look past Adora's antics. The twins tried to temper Adora, but despite their best efforts, she would do as she pleased... thankfully, it was mostly going after the assholes in the Old Coven. However, everything changed during the final battle, and Lisa was killed in front of Trinity. Adora was catatonic, and despite their best efforts, they had no choice but to take Adora out of the final battle.
After the Stygian Snake was defeated, Adora left the Coven but took her ring, leaving the other two completely useless. Despite it all, they remained in the Old Coven as long as they could until it got unbearably toxic, and they had no choice but to leave the Coven. On the way out, they dropped the last two Trinity Rings off to Sloane, and a few months later, they moved across the country to Washington, DC. The twins briefly drifted apart after completing high school, as Clementine and Vanessa went to college for Criminal Justice and Physical Education.
After giving themselves mountains of student loan debt, Clementine ended up in the CIA, and Vanessa became a gymnastics instructor at a private high school in Miami. However, after a supernatural event where a ghost tried to eat her, PRA saved Clementine, who roped her into them. Clementine missed the supernatural adventures she had in the Old Coven, so joining them was a no-brainer - in addition, she wanted to help the community more than she could in the PRA. Eventually roping in Vanessa, who wanted more than to teach snotnosed brats, the two were inseparable, going from place to place over the years... and the two got promoted to Senior Agent after the Lighthouse Incident where a lot of spaces opened up.
Since they got promoted, Clementine was the Acting Regional commander of the Mirage Springs Office.
Abstraction: Clementine: Agent - The Lantern.
An artifact the PRA 'acquired' due to dubious means inside a nameless Apparition is trapped inside. Clementine has no clue where it came from, what it is, or how it works, but as long as she keeps that Lantern at her hip, she can conjure solid constructs of light, shaping them into any form she desires with her mind alone. These constructs are made out of wavy blue energy that constantly flows as long as it's manifested. Whether crafting weapons to defend herself or creating tools to aid her allies, Clementine can craft practically anything if it's not too big or complex of a mechanism.
Vanessa: Agent - The Tyrant Destroyer I & II.
Another artifact that the PRA gifted Vanessa in her early days of Agency is the legendary Tyrant Destroyer I & II. The Tyrant Destroyers are a series of seven weapons designed to eliminate the most ruthless dictators and oppressors. The Tyrant Destroyer I & II is a set of right and left-handed gauntlets that give Clementine unparalleled strength and durability determined by their bravery and ability to resist oppression and stand up for others. Vanessa's level allows her to stop a speeding car with a single punch and get thrown through walls like it was nothing. However, the Tyrant Destroyers I & II have a secondary ability; they can inspire and boost the strength and confidence of those around them. By raising one of her fists and sharing motivational words, the people nearby wounds are healed, their abstractions and physical abilities boosted, and they feel braver and confident.
'Rush'.Chertok
31 | Dexter Harold Chertok | He/Him"My calculations? They're never wrong."
Description:
Callsign: Rush.
Rush is an oddity in the PRA regarding demeanor, appearance, personality, and more.
But, before he was Rush, he was Dexter, who grew up in Tampa, Florida, alongside his best friend Rey Gomez. The two have been friends for as long as they can remember despite being opposites in personality. They grew up outcasts; they were so isolated that not even the other more niche cliques wanted anything to do with them! Rush grew up in a relatively poor household (his father got into a car accident and fell into a coma) as a boy with insane intelligence, creativity, talent, and, above all else, talent. So, as anyone in a bad situation with little money and insane talent could, he got some skills and made money. He did many hustles, such as providing the answers to other students for money, hacking into systems for cash, and more. Rey was at his side as a bodyguard, but things got strange when they got introduced to the world of magic.
His father passed despite desperately clinging to life, and the sheer grief caused Dexter to undergo his Kindling-Event and discover his White Lux. It was an exciting discovery, and after experimenting with some spells, Dexter could upgrade his hustles from simple schoolyard hustle to grander and more illegal things. Rush was like a junior-rain man as he used his White Lux to predict how sports events and more could go, and bet for it and win so much money. However, it wasn't long until the PRA caught onto their trail, and then the two were brought in for questioning... and were shanghaied into joining the PRA. Rey wasn't happy with it, but Dexter was just fine.
The two were inseparable in the PRA as they entered supernatural shenanigans such as the infamous Lighthouse Incident. Eventually, the two landed in Mirage Springs, where Dexter got promoted to Senior Agent. Dexter is a peculiar-looking man: he has a head of curly hair and glasses and has a strange inflection and monotone in his voice as he speaks. He is short in stature but makes up for it in reason and logic and often follows logic even when it is disadvantageous.
Abstraction: Adept - White Lux. Channeler: Favorite Robot toy.
Probabilistic Prognostication: Rush's primary spell delves into probability, which gives him the ability to see possible outcomes and the factors that influence them. He can determine the most likely outcome accurately with this spell, but it is sometimes unreliable.
Spatial Mapping: Rush employs this spell to accurately map out landscapes or structures. By channeling his White Lux, he projects a magical aura that interacts with his surroundings, allowing him to visualize the terrain in his mind. He gains information on every contour, elevation change, and landmark - he will know whatever is in the area.
Strategic Forecasting: Leveraging his analytical prowess, Rush uses this spell to anticipate his adversaries' movements and formulates efficient strategies to outmaneuver them. He understands his opponent's capabilities, techniques, and vulnerabilities by tapping into the infinite information his White Lux grants him and automatically gets a counter strategy.
Linguistic Decipher: Aka Code Talker. Harnessing White Lux's power, Rush automatically understands any language, from modern dialects to ancient tongues and cryptic messages. Rush transcends the barriers of time and culture, gaining unparalleled access to the accumulated wisdom and knowledge of countless civilizations throughout history. This spell bestows upon him the ability to comprehend and communicate in any language, past or present (maybe future).
Insightful Projection: This spell allows Rush to create a form of holographic projection that depict gathered information and analyses to others. With this spell, Rush can project visualizations of complex data analyses into the surrounding space. Rush can share his insights and findings with others through these holographic displays.
Rey.Gomez
30 | Rey Gomez | He/Him"Time to get to work."
Description:
The stoic and mysterious partner to Rush.
Rey always had a tough childhood; he grew up in the rough neighborhoods in Tampa, Florida, and despite his best attempts, he just never fit in with them. Even though Rey always wanted a friend, he sabotaged his attempts and pushed people away. When he didn't push them away, he never had excellent social skills, and certain things flew over his head, or he just said the wrong thing at the wrong time. So, it seemed Rey was destined for a lonely life of being a Reddit Moderator... until he met his best friend, Dexter, and the two have been together for as long as they could remember. Being the brawn to Rush/Dexter's brains. While not the biggest, Rey always had a stern demeanor and could fight; he never let anyone put their hands on his friend, from childhood to high school, to adulthood, to being PRA Agents. Rey is a Puerto Rican man who stands at five-seven and is well-built; he usually keeps sunglasses on.
Abstraction: Adjoined - Telekinetic-Shadow.
A gift and Abstraction passed down from his mother - the Telekinetic Shadow is a nameless and seemingly personality-less Apparition that mirrors the host's appearance to every last detail. The Telekinetic Shadow allows Rey to generate telekinetic replicas of his limbs, which mirror his movements like a ghostly extension of himself that glows a deep shade of azure, their transparency adding an eerie quality to their manifestation. Whether he throws a punch or executes any motion, these telekinetic appendages mimic his actions exactly. They can materialize in exact proportions to his limbs or shrink to minuscule proportions, even swell to monumental dimensions akin to an 18-wheeler, and their power correlates to their size. He can summon two giant limbs or dozens of smaller ones simultaneously.
Jacob.Stauber
29 | Jacob Ethan Stauber | He/Him"I'm not going to end up the sore one here, at least not again."
Description:
Trouble-maker from Seattle, Washington, who grew up in a poorer neighborhood... His father was a blue-collar worker who got his business mysteriously destroyed in an earthquake (Aka. a Paranormal attack), and he was forced to work in a warehouse on the docks. Thus, Jacob grew up in a trailer park and played the guitar to drown out his parents, arguing nonstop. His parents didn't give a shit about him, and thus the young Jacob acted out, usually hanging out with the wrong kids, stealing, doing, and selling weed by the time he was in high school. However, the Stauber family hit another lousy spot when their breadwinner, Daddy Stauber, was killed by some drug addict in a robbery gone wrong. That was when things started going to shit; the bills began piling up, and soon, strange men were rotating in and out of his mother's bedroom every other. Things were shitty, and the sheer bullshit of it all made Jacob undergo his Kindling-Event - activating Purple & Pink Lux.
That was when the shitbag Jacob elevated and developed spells to help him rob, cheat, and steal his way out of poverty... and unfortunately, he left his family in the dust. He didn't want or need them, so he dropped them like dead weight. Jacob robbed banks, jewelry stores, and more, and he was a rich man. He was not very smart, as the Seattle PRA Office caught onto him and captured him in a sting operation. Even though they had every right (and reason) to toss Jacob into jail, they gave him an offer: work for the PRA or rot in prison. Now, Jacob thought this deal was bullshit and did not want to be fed, but he wanted to be a prison bitch even less, so he accepted the offer, and soon enough, he was whisked away to the PRA training facility in Prince George County, Virginia.
However, he realized how inefficient, chaotic, and poorly run the PRA was and that old habits died hard, so Jacob became a crooked agent. He abused his power every chance he could get away with it, scammed people, made dirty deals, and robbed innocents and criminals of their possessions while clocking into work and looking like a good boy every morning. Unfortunately, things changed after the Lighthouse Incident, and there was a mass reshuffling of the Agency, and he went from Seattle to Mirage Springs. Things were well until a particular member of a specific organization named Dr. Cross contacted him, who got him in contact with Morningstar. He made Jacob a deal: join The Society, use the PRA resources against the Society's enemies, and get some extra money.
And with a deal like that, how could Jacob say no?
Chrono-Splice: Jacob can rewind time for a brief moment, undoing recent events or mistakes. This spell gives him a second chance to correct errors, avoid danger, or alter the course of events to his advantage.
Memory Shroud: WJacob can cloud individuals' memories, obscuring and hiding specific events or details. He can selectively alter their memories by touching his target and/or implanting false ones. This spell completely bypasses Emotional-Fields but requires touch.
Empathic Distortion: This spell grants Jacob the ability to sense and manipulate the emotions of those around him. He can influence his target behavior and decision-making by inducing fear, trust, or doubt to further his goals. This spell works perfectly on those without an Emotional-Field but requires some work to penetrate one.
Psychic Diversion: Psychic Diversion enables Jacob to create convincing illusions and hallucinations in the minds of his adversaries, distracting them and causing confusion. This Spell bypasses Emotional-Fields.
Psychic Shield: This spell alters Jacob's Emotional-Field to completely shut out a specific form of magic, shielding him from mental intrusion or manipulation by other psychics. It's on 24/7, and this spell deflects psychic intrusion and prevents his thoughts and memories from being read or otherwise tampered with.
Blink-Step: Blink-Step allows Jacob to teleport short distances instantaneously, disappearing from one spot and reappearing in another in the blink of an eye.
Temporal Rift: A spell that Jack devised as a backup plan in case things with the Society go to shit. Temporal Rift creates a temporary portal to another dimension by stepping through the rift. With this spell, he can escape danger, explore uncharted territories, or access alternate realities where new opportunities await!
'Lupe'.Sánchez
30 | Guadalupe Sánchez | She/Her"Show the world what you're made of, mami!"
Description:
Just call her Lupe!
Native of Xalapa, Mexico, she spent her formative years in the beautiful city... until she was around ten when her parents decided to immigrate to the USA, seeing it as a place with better opportunities and a safer place for their daughter. It was a culture shock, and the punches kept coming when her two twin brothers, Diego and Alejandro, were born. There was a world of difference between the twins and Lupe; by the time they were five, she was entering high school and was busy trying to find her way in the world. Naturally, being a pretty girl who was always personable, she always fit in with the popular gals and was a famous face in the party scenes.
Eventually, she graduated high school and... didn't know what she wanted to do with her life. She loved partying and living but wanted to do something more, and naturally, Lupe just buried the feeling by partying more. Once she was in her late twenties, she decided to go to college to become a nurse; better late than never, she told herself. She didn't want to take out loans, nor did her parents want to support her anymore, so she, unfortunately, had to become a stripper! She loved it; she was pretty, a great dancer, and had a personality, so it came naturally to her. However, it was around this time when Lupe's two little brothers got inducted into the gang culture and soon enough became a part of one of the local gangs, the Spanish Reapers. Lupe loved her two little brothers even though they had nothing in common, but she desperately tried everything she could to get them out of the gang lifestyle - even throwing her dreams in the garbage to save them.
Soon, Lupe discovered something about the Spanish Reapers - they were a gang of all-Paranormals. Now, Lupe didn't have any clue about magic and thought it was bullshit; even when the two showed her, she still didn't believe it. However, when The Society came to take over Mirage Springs, the Spanish Reapers were defiant. Unfortunately, the Spanish Reapers didn't fit Morningstar's script, so he had them wiped out by Mala'Boolaan and Gomander, which included her two little brothers, who were brutally killed by the two Endless Seven.
The event sent Lupe into a depressive spiral, making her undergo a Kindling-Event as her life fell apart before her eyes. Once she exited the spiral, she wanted revenge, and joined the Society, patiently waiting for her opportunity to avenge her brothers. Lupe is a pureblooded Mexican woman who is a little bit taller than average (for Mexicans) at five-four. She is curvy with a head of head and one hell of a smile, and she's all about living life to its fullest.
Abstraction: Adept - Red, Green, & Purple Lux. Channeler: Memorial Necklace for Diego and Alejandro.
Neon-Projection The parent spell for Lupe's ability to manipulate Fire, Light, and Electricity.
Neon-Fire: Lupe conjures a hot pink flame that burns with mesmerizing brilliance, creating a particular glow. With a snap of her fingers, she can summon forth these radiant flames that consume all in their path and make them anywhere on her body.
Neon-Lights: Lupe conjures neon light beams out of her hands that slice through the air with precision and grace. These vibrant lasers burn the air, leaving trails of dazzling color in their wake as they seek out their targets with unerring accuracy. At the same time, being fabulous!
Neon-Electricity: Lupe commands torrents of electrified brilliance to stun foes with electrifying blasts, manipulating the very currents of electricity itself. This electricity glows a hot pink color and has an ethereal glow.
Neon Dash: Lupe, utilizing a mixture of Green, Purple, and Red Lux, transforms into a fireball imbued with light and electricity. In this form, Lupe propels herself forward in a fabulous burst of speed, leaving behind a trail of vibrant light as she travels as fast as cars.
Neon-Healing: Drawing upon the rejuvenating properties of Green-Lux, Lupe channels a healing light to mend wounds. With a touch, her friends are bathed in a neon glow, accelerating their natural healing processes with radiant energy.
Neon-Portation Exploding in a blast of light, fire, and electricity, Lupe bends space and time to transport herself or others instantaneously to a different location. She cannot teleport too far, like a few blocks away, and she has to be familiar with the area.
Of course, Sloane went out of her way to invalidate Britney's feelings. It was a tiny dent, but the issue was that Britney didn't want anyone to go and trash Kari's house. It was bad enough that they were breaking in, but the last thing she wanted was for the group to ruin this place. Nor was she going to allow it. She returned Sloane's cold stare... with a smile.
”... Then it's cool if I make the same exact dent in your wall, right?” Britney laughed. Linqian decided to jump in, mentioning Jinhai, and Britney shook her head as she said, ”Linqian, I go-”
"Alright, alright everyone. Dogpile Sloane Hour was a decade ago, remember? We can afford to talk about how we're executing this after we're done, this is gonna be a long day. We can make it shorter if we don't get caught up on every little thing,"
Of course, Amara had to come over and stick her nose where it didn't belong - it was prompted by Linqian jumping in, which is why Britney wanted her to stay out of it. Speaking of which, Sloane had slipped off, backing down when the heat was too intense, naturally, which meant that it was up to Britney to defend her actions. She stared down at Amara with a completely neutral expression on her face. She didn't like Amara, even before it came out what Britney had done.
”One, I wasn't picking Sloane out specifically, and if it seemed that way, I will apologize to Sloane later,” Britney began before she put a hand on her chest. ”And two, I am just stopping a precedent that we should just trash Kari's house just because she's dead. Respect the dead. Respect Kari. I would have and will get on anyone's case if they did something similar.”
She sighed, ”And three, I don't want to be here as much as the next guy, but-”
"... You could've knocked,"
Britney was interrupted and turned towards the... boy? ”... Huh?” Britney tilted her head as she looked at the kid. She immediately recognized him from the shitshow at the strip club; he was the kid that got shot. She narrowed her eyes at him, realizing she must have an abstraction. Even if he had survived getting shot like that, he should have been in the hospital for months. Not just that, his parents should have been informed (and arrested for gross negligence).
"At least your friend's kinda onto a point, but you really are a shitty bunch of friends, to Ashley and the rest, d'you know that? If you can remember not to fight like a bunch of high school kids, maybe you'll get something done this time."
”Okay, one, you're a kid, what do you know?” Britney began, ”Two, who are you? Three, didn't you get shot? Four, why are you here?”
However, at this point, Kenshiro had an absolute meltdown.
"No! No, no, I won't stand for this now! Who... What... Why!? Can't we ever get fucking organized? It's just like making plans! Just like it, I make sure I come back for a certain date, I syncronize my cronometer between the two dimensions, I get home on time to texts telling me that things are canceled like Verizon exists in the Kingdom of Molaran?"
”... That's a good question,” Britney said, glancing at Auri for a second as she put a hand on her hip. On one hand, Auri hadn't even attempted to organize things. On the other hand, Britney wasn't sure if there was even a point in trying to.
"Sully!? Put the fucking cup away, my friend! Did you not have a dream the other night where a girl took it from a pedestal? And then, coincidentally, you got it stolen at the Festival? It's bad enough there's so many of us fucking here!"
”... The fucking Chalice got stolen?” Britney asked.
"My Second Clan? Come on, everyone, gather who will for a shot in Kari's memory... And PLEASE stop ransacking her house, because you won't find what you're looking for in any drawer or couch. Kari kept her most private things in a place so safe I'd bet my own life on it. Because I trust locks! And keys that lock the locks! I'm dead serious, Sully, pour the Sake for everyone... Because this isn't just for Kari. This is for Lyss, and Ashley, and for Kali and Jade and Jinhai... No more lost... Please?"
Britney couldn't help but smile as Kenshiro gave a smile. Finally, it is important to get the group back to the point of respecting the fallen members of their Coven, which Britney had utterly forgotten about. Kenshiro was needed, so Britney was glad to have him back. She walked over to him and said,
”... I keep a bottle of wine in the back of my car,” Britney smiled, as she put a hand on her hip. ”I could run to my car real quick to take a bit of load off Sully.” She gave Sully a warm look as she said,
”Yes, a toast for everyone to lost to Father Wolf: Elsa, Lionel, Kura, Samantha, Simone, Finn,” Britney listed off some names. ”And Alizee, too. She was one of the best of us, all negatives aside.”
We're better off without her. She internally added. That was when Aislin had to ruin things by pulling out weed and offering it to the group. While Britney was no stranger to recreational drugs, there was a time and a place. And this was not it. Britney quickly turned towards Aislin as she said,
”Aislin, put that thing away,” Britney seethed, ”There's a kid here, and we got shit to do. You can get high lat-”
... That was when they were all pulled into a Recollection.
”... Beats me, she always wanted to lone wolf it when she knows the killer attacks people who are alone,” Adora shrugged, as she crossed her arms, staring at her feet as she told the uncomfortable truth. ”... It was her fault, I'm sorry.”
As more people showed up, something popped into Adora's head. Was this really Auri's plan she held off for about a week? About twenty motherfuckers ransack a dead girl's house? Talk about grasping at straws. Adora crossed her arms, waiting by Lynn's side as the group assembled before her. She wouldn't make a fuss about it, but Auri was desperate to justify her leadership as usual. What was she hoping would happen? Kari's just hiding in a secret room in the attic? That they would find her with a bloodied knife in one hand and a manifesto in the other? It's all because Lyss probably just made a mistake. Of course, they can not confirm it now that Lyss is go-
BOOM!
Adora's heart started fluttering as she thought the super police were back, ready to fuck up their shit again. Her head darted towards the door, and Sloane had either kicked it down or used some gay ass magic - Adora didn't know, Adora didn't care. She gently placed a hand on her chest, taking deep breaths most subtly and inconspicuously as she could (In other words, not very) without tipping off the rest of the group.
That Sloane. Adora didn't want to seem like she was hounding Sloane after the disastrous first meeting - or second, Adora couldn't even be bothered anymore - so she kept to herself and let Britney and Linqian handle it. She didn't see the big deal, and if they cared that much, they could fix it on the way out. However, she had to speak her mind, so she stepped forward.
”... Look, ya'll, I get where ya'll comin' from,” Adora shook her head as she addressed the group. ”But, there's like twenty motherfuckers charging into one house like a herd of buffalo; shit's going to get messed up regardless.”
She shrugged, shifting her weight to one hip as she touched it, ”We can just fix it on the way out if it's such a big deal. So, let's hurry the fuck up before the magic police come barking up our tree again. I dunno about ya'll but I would like to not get teargassed again. I had to toss out that hoodie, by the way.” She gave the group a sinister grin that she hoped the group would interpret as sarcastic.
"No! No, no, I won't stand for this now! Who... What... Why!? Can't we ever get fucking organized? It's just like making plans! Just like it, I make sure I come back for a certain date, I syncronize my cronometer between the two dimensions, I get home on time to texts telling me that things are canceled like Verizon exists in the Kingdom of Molaran? Sully!? Put the fucking cup away, my friend! Did you not have a dream the other night where a girl took it from a pedestal? And then, coincidentally, you got it stolen at the Festival? It's bad enough there's so many of us fucking here!"
However, an Asian guy—she wasn't sure if she had seen him before, but he looked familiar—had a meltdown, and Adora was taken aback. She took a few steps back as she put her hands up at the rant. However, he calmed down shortly after, and Adora was relieved. She was hoping this wouldn't devolve into everyone freaking the fuck out over every goddamn thing. She sighed.
"-Her... Her delicates drawer. She usually kept the important notebooks in there." he closed his eyes, shaking his head. "There's no way I'm looking through them."
”Oh, hell no!” Adora laughed, keeping her arms crossed as she knelt over for a moment. When she stood upright, she kept one arm in place as she raised a hand and spun her index finger around while barely containing laughter. ”Everyone! Wrap it up; we are not digging through someone's panties! I don't kno-”
"That was... A joke."
”Oh,” Adora shrugged. ”You got some people here excited.”
She then stuck her tongue out at Kenshiro.
"You're Sloane. I think I recognise the 'Britney' and 'Adora', but I'm struggling to follow who you are. There's a lot of names carved in that tree, and Ashley didn't say much except how some people were assholes. She was family to me. I want Father Wolf. He wants you dead. Does that answer your questions?"
Adora turned her head when she heard her name and saw that kid in the church. It was no surprise he was already here and breaking into houses. Though, there was something odd about the little kid, the way he acted. He was a bit too mature for his good, but then again, Adora and many others in the Old Coven had to grow the fuck up fast. So maybe the little bastard had a shitty upbringing... which involved losing Ashley. She swore she had seen the bastard around as she ran errands, following her. She was wondering how the little shit knew her name in the first place! Thus, she lets Stormy and the others talk while she listens.
Please? And quick, because the Old Bat across the street is a nosey hag, and if she saw us piling in here, she's gonna call the fucking cops! Do I know where she keeps her stuff... Up until a few years ago the panty drawer wasn't a joke. But I hooked her up. It took a few days and a lot of raw material, but I got it right eventually. Come on! Gather around and take a shot, then its off to the Basement we go!"
”Now you're speaking my language,” Adora said, sake wasn't her thing - she never tried it before - but she was willing to try it for the group. ”We're not going to lose anyone else, I'm going to make sure of that... homeboy.”
What's a nonawkward way to ask someone's name without making things awkward?
That was when Adora was pulled into the Recollection.
"What's with the flowers, Drake? Trying to win Sloane over after last week?"
Oh boy.
Everyone knew by now.
Drake's face went a little red from embarrassment as he looked over to Stormy, though he wasn't surprised now. Sloane probably hopped up and down about Drake, even though she was probably right to do so. ”Y-yeah,” Drake shook his head, ”Bro... I just fucked up. Big time. She was my wife's friend, bro.” She sighed.
He observed the group forming before him, almost entirely different from the first meeting. Drake had no clue that Simone, Kali, Lyss, Finn, Alizee, and Eska were dead because he missed the second meeting. So he was just a little taken aback by the sudden wave of new faces, which questioned why they decided to care now. Well, either way, hopefully, they are here to help, and Auri was not just wasting their time by being here. He was happy to see Aislin... even if he would have appreciated it if it was under better circumstances.
Like the news of Lyss's death.
God damn it. Drake shakes his head and grits his teeth nonetheless. That bastard can't keep getting away with this... ”... When I get my hands on him.” He said. Lyss was his friend in the Old Coven... and he didn't even know that she was back in town. Now, he felt a twinge of pain and regret; he should have been prowling the streets looking for Father Wolf instead of wasting time at the Halloween Festival. Though, could it have been Kari? Drake didn't interact with her often, but Victoria did, and Victoria kept in touch for years until they fell out of touch.
He shrugged.
Sully wanted to offer a moment of silence for Lyss, and Drake took off his sunglasses, hooked the hinges on his T-shirt, held the flower in both hands, and hung his head.
BANG!
Sloane had decided to blow down the door with her magic - Drake knew it as the Hexmark. He knew she would because imagine someone like Sloane kicking down a door. Her leg would shatter in twenty different places, and the thought made him giggle like a girl. Some people got mad over it, and Drake just... shrugged. They're breaking off Auri's hunch, and respect is not being shown to Kari right now. The issue was that he was unsure if Sloane would be in a good mood... or if this would be a good time. Okay, probably not. Not. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Drake mentally seethed.
He kept the flowers in his hand as he walked in, bringing up the rear as there was... a kid? What the fuck? Stormy acted like he knew the little bastard, but if Drake were on duty right now, he would be hauling this young man to the station and making some calls until he could find his parents. Then give them hell for letting their kid break into someone's house. That's what they're doing right now, so Drake kept to himself. It was typical Coven chaos anyway, so Drake twiddled his thumbs until Kenshiro offered a toast. Not to just Lyss, but everyone... including Jade.
Suddenly, Drake's grief and loss resurfaced, and he needed a moment to compose himself. However, something caught his attention in the midst of it.
"... I'm almost positive we're being watched from those trees by someone. Just a feeling."
Drake turned his head to Tayla. While anyone else would have missed what Tayla said (or be dumb enough to press the matter), Drake was smart enough to pick up what Tayla meant. She was probably using some of her Pink-Lux bullshit to keep an eye out and picked up that someone was watching them - she pointed in their direction and everything. Drake knew Tayla didn't like him and looked like she didn't want to be here, but he was not stupid. That bastard was probably tailing them now, waiting for the perfect moment. He wasn't going to let it go without so much as looking for it. He tapped Tayla on the shoulder as he whispered,
”... I'll take a look,”
Then he stepped outside, surrounded by an aura of electricity as he took flight. In his right hand, he created a round, circular shield large enough to cover most of his body. He darted in the direction Tayla pointed, leaving a trail of crackling electricity. It would be dead evident to the stranger what he was doing when he stepped out, but he went full speed in said direction, hoping to catch them off guard before they got a chance to escape or react.
However, he was pulled into the same Recollection everyone else was....
Recollection: Elsa Connor.
Interactions: Yes.
Kari's House. A month before the murders began.
July.
It was a beautiful day in July. The sun was shining, and this was long before Father Wolf's murder spree, so Elsa could rest easy. So could Kari. Or at least Elsa wished that she was enjoying herself. The girl wore a tank top, and some daisy dukes as she mowed the lawn with a push mower. The Airpods drowned out the sound of the motor in her ears as she blasted a song. Kari always wanted to hire a landscaper or pay some snot-nosed kid to mow Kari's gigantic lawn, but Elsa always shot that down because they have a lawnmower, two arms, and two legs; they could do it themselves!
She wiped the sweat off her forehead... though doing it themselves meant it got hot. It was time for a break. She cut the mower off and walked up the stairs to Kari's (also technically hers) house. She skipped through the house, walked over to the refrigerator, opened it, and grabbed a water bottle.
"... Lionel, Lionel, I get it,"
Elsa could hear from the other room - Kari's den. It was Kari's room where she kept her computer and just a place where she... relaxed. Kari has been acting slightly strange lately; people have been coming by, including the Old Coven's favorite, Emily, and some of her goons a few weeks ago. Elsa tried to drive them off... but that resulted in her needing to see Jade. The chattering in the room went on, and curiosity got the best of Elsa as she took off her heavy combat boots for yard work. She sneakily walked down the hall, hanging out directly out the doorway. She poked her head in to see Kari wearing a black dress and sitting at her computer desk. She was hunched over it, with a phone to her ear and her other hand against her face with her elbows holding her up.
"... I know you don't approve of them them."
The other person, who could only be Lionel Hunter, chattered momentarily before Kari answered.
"Yes, I know," Kari shook her head before she quickly snapped back. "Emily came by here three times already. You know Elsa can't handle her, Vashti, and George. Yes, I know you went to their mansion and played tough guy, but they came back. You know Emily doesn't know when to quit."
Kari rubbed her forehead and shook her head as Elsa could hear Lionel's chatter. "... Emily desperately wants me in 8th St. No one else is doing anything. I tried going to Sloane, but she was all 'that's great!'"
She sighed as Elsa could hear Lionel speak, and Kari then answered,
"I don't know about you, but I can't see a world with me in 8th St. I know it's been ten years, but I know the places she pushed Lisa to for fun. I know how she treated people like Ella. It's been ten years, but they were my friends, and it'd be disrespectful to their memory even to consider working with Emily in any capacity."
Lionel chattered some more before Kari said,
"At the end of the day, the only way to get Emily off my back was to join them," Kari began, sighing again as she continued, "I know they're shitty, but no one else is helping."
Lionel spoke some more before Kari cut him off.
"Look, Lionel, we're going in circles here," Kari began, "I'll talk to you later, bye. BYE."
She hung up the phone, and when Lionel called back, she immediately declined the call. Kari massaged her temples as Elsa slowly walked into the room smilingly. When she was in range, she pounced on Kari, wrapping her arms around her in a hug.
"Kari!" Elsa excitedly said, "Whassup?"
Kari jumped before she smiled back, "Nothing, nothing."
"I just heard some chattering and... are you okay?"
Kari paused for a moment as she strained the smile.
"... Everything is fine," She began. "Trust me."
The Recollection ended as they embraced each other.
