I think that could work. You would be less mobile than the other characters speed/jumping wise. But yes I like the idea. And as living toys your attacks won't be inconsequential. Sort of like it's own style of magic being part of the Night Wardens confers a sort of special attack modifier against the terrors from the dark.
Added a character sheet for those interested in such things. Feel free to format as you like.
Character sheet added for those who like tinkering with such things. Feel free to format in your own style.
Hopefully I end up with at least four people to get a real story going. Thanks for the interest! I will get a CS put on the post just for grins.
I certainly want there to be some in depth story once things get started, if you have an interest dont worry its not all going to be action.

Long have the Night Wardens guarded children as they sleep. The vaunted history of these stately bears of the night is fraught with terrors born of the dark. Sadly the nights only seem longer... and the bears fewer. Each passing year moves away from the tried and true Teddy Bear guardians for young children. The Night Warden brigades have no choice but to open recruiting to less.. conventional children's toys and stuffed animals.

The newest round of recruits have just arrived at Miss Eva's Nursery. The old creaking building quite possibly the longest running children's shelter in existence. Theodore Bearstraud has held this post for months now without relief. The old bear is running out of steam. Just recently having lost an eye and no one yet to repair it. Ragged old cloth covering weary limbs he rises each night and defends his children, as is his duty. The attacks have grown worse. Each sunset brings more powerful horrors to Miss Eva's. These new recruits must be prepared...

Rules

1: Characters must be childrens toys or stuffed animals. Nothing very large or extra small. Preferably stuffed animals but if someone wants to pitch action figures/barbie/dinos etc... submit and we can discuss.
2: Primarily looking for fighters and the like but again I am flexible. Not to say a character might not have special abilities. Just not full blown magecraft.
3: Looking for at least one post a week from players. If there is more response I will step up my story line posts as well.
4: Despite the childlike subject I intend for the tone to be more serious and often adult in humor. The action may involve violence and cursing so be appropriately aged and whatnot. I doubt there will be much romance involved but if so fade to black where appropriate by forum guidelines.
5: Casual to advanced writing I am willing to work with people who have a genuine interest in the story.

Each character when coming alive at night will assume some basic shared "powers" unless otherwise specified by the player. Higher than standard resilience for a stuffed animal/toy, the movement speed you might expect from a human, able to jump several feet (height of a bed). I do have a story line with events planned but much of the in between is going to be driven by the roleplay.

Hope there are some interested peoples out there! Any questions feel free to ask or PM me if desired.

Jiwari Farwalker -- Tortoisefolk -- Mountain Evergreen Tortoisefolk

Profile

By the measure of Tortoisefolk Farwalker has only just begun his adult life at a meer two-hundred thirty eight years of age. The Mountain Evergreen Tortoisefolk are an uncommon species rarely seen further than a few miles from the place they are born. Most of his kin have long since given up moving and simply become an organism attached to the earth, destined to grow in place. Jiwari after the style of his people has grown to a decent size in his sedentary lifestyle. The tree growing from his rocky exterior has reached a venerable and stately size for its age. The few creatures that call him home are well used to his every few years wanderlust. The trio of metallic ravens consistently nattering and mocking anything that is nearby. The family of stone squirrels that have made the tree and foliage upon his shell their home. The ever-irritated half honey badger half poisonous porcupine who stubbornly refuses to be left behind. And the nucleus of Jiwaris' menagerie of mutated creatures a chameleon Chousingha, a small deer like creature with four prong horns extending from its head. Jiwari enjoys the company of his mind-linked minions living upon his craggy surface.
Biography

Farwalker as expected of a Tortoisefolk is somewhat stoic and proper. That being said a long association with his ravens and squirrels has given him a rather dry sense of humor unlike most of his kind. This comedic enjoyment is quite possibly why he has chosen to wander down off the mountain breaking with long held tradition. The weathered stone of Jiwaris shell and thick rock infused hide has made him quite tough, although he is typically rather non-violent. The same cannot be said for a few of the creatures living upon his moving scenery. Often enough some poor creature makes the mistake of upsetting Turin (the porcupine badger) and receiving a storm of poisonous quills in response. Though he possesses the ability to rise and walk upon the lowest of his four sets of limbs Jiwari trundles along placidly not disturbing the habitat that has flourished upon his back. Farwalkers greatest strengths of course being the symbiosis between the variety of minions he carries and a penchant for snapping up then swallowing whole creatures who begin to threaten him or his adopted family. Requiring no more than his tree to live, water, especially deep or moving water is the Mountain Tortoisefolks primary fear. The sheer weight of a stone Tortoisefolk is not made for swimming after all.

Psyched for this setting. Think everyone will enjoy our collab on meeting. Understand the RL intrusion is kinda kicked back on me too. Should be ready to go now though.
