"... Injecting your fetishes into a play-by-post roleplay? What kind of monster does that...?" - The Ghost Note confronting a worst villain (the hornyman).
In 8th Street’s main hall, Emily had zipped up a bright neon-green rain jacket… heavy-duty that could withstand the storms and prevent Emily from getting wet. All of 8th Street was putting them on, along with a gas mask pouch around their hip. as Emily stood over a large blank sheet of paper that she had over their main hall table. She held a black marker in her hand as she gestured for 8th Street to get closer and announced, “Alright… everyone listen up!”
“What’s all this for?” Miranda asked, her eyebrow raised in curiosity. “Are we going to rob someone again…?” She punctuated her question with a sigh.
“This is our battle plan to put those sluts in their place,” Emily grinned widely. “We’re going to march right up to where those sluts are and take Lila right in front of them to show them how much power they have....”
“And Britney?” Carol piped up… already wearing a gas mask, which muffled her voice.
“... And Britney,” Emily said with a roll of her eyes. “And take that gas mask off!”
“No! It makes me look cool as fuck!” Carol laughed.
“Take. It. Off.” Emily seethed.
“Fine, Jesus…” Carol grumbled as she removed the gas mask and put it back in her pouch.
“Wait, you can’t be serious, Em,” Jacqueline’s face contorted to shock. “You started that!”
“I just made a mistake,” Emily shook her head. “Lila attacked me. Not only that, I got jumped by them when I was walking to the bathroom because I just so happened to have the Chalice on me—oh, that reminds me, we’re coming back with Drake and Kenshiro, too!” She grinned.
“Well, count me out,” Miranda shook her head. “You were in the wrong, and we’re not participating in it.”
“Yeah, count us both out,” Jacqueline said. “If that’s what you want to do today, we want no part of that.”
“Fine,” Emily rolled her eyes. “Before you go, tell us where those sluts are.”
Jacqueline sighed, rolled her eyes, opened the Expert’s Book, and scanned it for a moment before she said,
“... They’re at Kari’s house,” Jacqueline shook her head before she turned and walked off with Miranda in tow. When Jacqueline made it to the door, she stood at it for a moment and said, “Let us know how that goes.” She slammed the door.
Emily didn’t react.
“Everyone of you slams doors, dude. Your parents, I swear,” said Vashti, shaking her head as she rummaged around with her pouch.
“Kari’s house…” She tapped the marker against her chin. “... What are those sluts doing at her house?” She asked out loud.
“Probably taking all the cool stuff we left, bro,” said Vashti, her voice muffled by a gas mask.
Emily facepalmed as Vashti removed the gas mask, using the reflective lenses to check her hair.
“... Vashti,” Emily began, taking her hand from her face. “Have those annoying strippers gotten back to you yet? We need them for our plan.”
“Huh? I thought you wanted me to stop inviting strippers after that last time when Cynthi-ooooooh! You mean V and P? Oh, yeah, totally, let me just check real quick, I definitely remembered to reach out to them. Highest priority, really,” said Vashti as she fumbled with her phone, her thumbs a blur. The swooshing sound effect of a text being sent played through her phone’s speakers. “Oh, weird, no, nothing yet. Don’t worry, I’ll keep them in the loop.”
Vashti nonchalantly tossed her phone onto the table and returned to doodling on her gas mask with a white permanent marker.
“You know it’s funny, bro. Between V and P the names should really be the other way around. What with the…” Vashti made a hole with her finger and poked the marker through it, making a loud popping noise with her mouth. She returned to drawing a tiny cartoon alligator and then paused, turning her head to Emily. “Wait, what were we talking about?”
Emily facepalmed again.
“... Jesus, Christ on a cross, Vashti, I love you, girl, but can we foc-”
Violet screamed as she walked in, wearing a black hoodie… but her exposed legs made it ambiguous whether or not she was wearing anything else. She danced as Pink followed behind her and briefly shook her ass. “It’s been a while, my lovelies!” Violet screamed as she walked. “What’s the haps!?”
“Yaaaaaaaaaaas!” Phoebe laughed as she ran over and hugged Violet. “Where the fuck were you?! You know it’s boring as fuck here without you.”
“Hey, that’s not what you were saying earlier!” Maya complained, scowling at Phoebe.
“We have jobs.”
“Shaking ass isn’t a job,” Phoebe laughed.
“Well, tell that to the people throwing them hundreds, yaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” Violet looked at Emily and Vashti. “... Am I missing something?”
“A gas mask? Emily, what are we doing? I already handled the Lila situation,” said Vashti, kicking her legs up on the uncharted battle plans and rocking back dangerously in her chair. “Do you know how hard it is to catch birds, bro?”
“Vandalizing her house isn’t enough,” Emily answered, “I want her dead!”
“... And Britney, right?” Carol asked, with the gas mask back on.
“... And Britney. Both of them. Dead.”
Vashti stared through Carol with vacant eyes that suddenly widened in panic as her chair began to slip. She barely caught the table's edge with her hand to stop herself from falling. Without a moment of hesitation, she resumed rocking in the chair. Vashti nonchalantly gestured at Violet, “So that's the plan.”
Violet stuck her tongue out and posed, kneeling and putting her hands on her shins.
“That's the plan?!” Maya looked up from filling Phoebe’s gas mask with sand, narrowing her eyes. “I thought we were just going to shout at them, kidnap them, torture them, and then send them back with their tails between their legs.”
Emily facepalmed again.
“... She’s not the plan,” Emily seethed as she pointed at Pink - who also stuck her tongue out, knelt over, and put her hands on her shins. “She’s the plan… the escape plan in case things go south or if Agent Liao forgets our deal….”
Emily shook her head as she leaned over the table with the marker in hand… then quickly bent over and scratched out Vashti’s drawing before she stood up straight and said.
“But, if those sluts are at Kari’s house…” She trailed off, tapping the bottom of the marker against her chin a few times. “Everyone gather around!”
She grinned.
“... I have the perfect plan in store for those sluts. Now, Cynthia, Amy, Nadine....”
Their plotting went on until they were all in agreement on one plan.
Ella screamed as she fell from the balcony, arm outstretched to try and reach Lisa before she disappeared. Her back crashed against the table, muscles spasming as intense pain spread across her back and into her shoulder. She groaned, eyes squeezing shut for a moment. But she didn’t have time to wallow in the pain. She was left alone in a room full of enemies.
With another groan, Ella quickly rolled to the side and off the table, clumsily landing on her feet and into a crouching position. She held her Sailor Moon Wand in a tight grip, completely defensively, while her eyes darted around.
“Ooooooh, Sheer’Khan!” The woman with the long black hair who stood with the Society laughed, turning her head towards the morbidly obese man. “Her friends abandoned her!”
“Contain yourself, Shala,” Sheer’Khan shook his head, and yawned. “Think you can kill her? Ah, I miss Mala’Boolaan already.” He shook his head with another yawn.
“I thought you had this place secure,” The tall man on the side of Dollhouse said.
“We do, Luis,” Sheer’Khan said with another yawn. “Shala, Dr. Cross, just kill her already so we can get this over with. It’s bad enough that Ignatius dragged us all out here.”
Shala laughed as she stood up and exploded into a cloud of pink mist, and when it faded, she was a massive wolf-like creature with wings. She laughed as she lunged forward with a claw cocked back, and slammed it over onto Ella.
Ella jumped to the side, wincing as the claw caught the side of her arm and raked down it. The bright colours of her bracelets (which she was rapidly running out of at the hostel) pooled down into her arms, making her fists a mishmash of bright pinks, purples and blues. She swung a fist, as hard as steel, towards Shala, impacting her chest and breaking a bone. Shala stumbled back for a moment, before roaring, and charging at her with both hands outstretched - briefly coughing up blood.
While this was going on, Dr. Cross pulled out the pike and held it with both hands, as she ran up.
Ella crossed her hands in front of her to block any claws that got near her. She used her prismatic enhanced legs to jump up onto the table - she was outnumbered but maybe being a bit higher could help! She swept out one leg, trying to catch and break the pike. However, upon contact with it… it did nothing. Not even so much as move Dr. Cross, and on impact, Ella felt her abstraction getting weaker.
“... I’ll eat you alive!” Shala shouted as she lunged at Ella, mouth agape, still with a trickle of blood dripping down the side of her lip.
"No thank you!" Ella pulled back her leg, trying not to panic at how noticeably weaker her abstraction was. Her hands and lower arms were duller, and the light on her legs was flickering. She rolled to the side, shoulder hitting the table and smashing a plate, and she flipped off the other side with a wince. She immediately picked up one of the chairs and threw it at Shala, bashing her in the face with it. Shala growled in anger, before she grabbed the table and lifted it up over her head.
“... GO TO HELL, WHORE!”
Shala screamed as she threw the giant table at Ella.
“... We were using that, Shala,” Ignatius sighed from the balcony above. He was leaning up against it, watching the fight. Not only that, Shayton and the mysterious woman were also leaning against it.
”I’m not a whore, I’m a magical girl!" Ella shouted. She quickly crouched, arms in front of her face and legs in front of her stomach - the table smacked right into her, her more vulnerable body parts covered by enhanced arms and legs… But it still hurt like hell! Fuck! Fight through it! She was knocked back and winded… But she had the table for a bit of cover. Ella popped her head over the table, brandishing her channeler to shoot a burning light right towards Shala’s eye… and seared it shut. She loudly screamed and thrashed around as she clutched her face, before she fell onto her back.
This left Ella and Dr. Cross, who simply strafed a circle around Ella, holding that pike, not breaking line of sight.
“Sheer’Khan! Do something!” Dr. Cross shouted, as she continued to walk circles around Ella.
Sheer’Khan yawned. “... I’m perfectly fine watching, thank you very much.”
“... You’re stronger than Mala’Boolaan!” Dr. Cross seethed. “Just flatten her real quick before the rest of those idiots come back!”
Sheer’Khan yawned.
“Who made you the boss?” he replied. “Last I checked, only Ignatius was above us. The rest of the Endless Seven stand on the same level.”
Ella was still peering over the table, from below her nose hidden behind it. She hadn’t expected Shala to go down so easily… maybe winning this was possible! If she ignored how much pain she was in!
”You know, you really shouldn’t boss people around if you’re not in charge! If he doesn’t want to fight, he doesn’t want to fight!" Ella shouted. She moved her hand just a bit above the table, shooting another burning light—this time towards one of Dr. Cross’s hands. It hit her hand, and she winced, keeping her hand on the pike. She fell to one knee and closed her eyes.
“... Shut up and fight!” Dr. Cross screamed as she rushed Ella, and swung at her with the pike. One that would weaken her abstraction.
Shala climbed back to her feet, and sniffed the air for a few moments…
”I don’t want to fight either!" Ella said, weaving and dodging the pike. She didn’t want it to hit her again, but her main attacks required kicking or punching! Instead she just used her still enhanced limbs to more easily dart from side to side.
“... Then you shouldn’t have come here!” Dr. Cross shouted as she took another swing with the pike.
”Well…" Ella didn’t really have anything to say in response to that. She leapt back to avoid the swing, before stepping in and sweeping out a leg in an attempt to kick Dr. Cross’ ankle, making her fall to the side… yet, Dr. Cross held onto the pike tightly. Ella quickly moved around to kick Dr. Cross in the back of the knee, hard. Which made her seethe as she rolled over a few times.
However, Shala charged at Ella like a berserk animal, kicking Dr. Cross away as she slashed her with a wild barrage. One of the slashes hit Ella’s shoulder, claws digging into her flesh and sending blood spilling down her leotard and staining the white with a bright red. She pulled back before they could hit again, punching away the other hand and constantly backing away.
”Hey, you shouldn’t kick your friend!" she shouted as she dodged.
“... DIE!” Shala continued the relentless assault, before throwing herself at Ella with her jaws outstretched, aiming for her neck.
”Not again!" Ella shouted. She threw up her arm to protect her neck, biting down on her lip as Shala’s jaws clamped down on it. Shala then thrashed Ella around like a wild dog, before she slipped from her grasp and went flying across the room. She then roared into the sky.
“... That was a great display,” Ignatius said with a flat expression on his face. “Now kill her.”
Ella slammed into a wall, falling to the floor with a crash. She clenched down her jaw to keep in pained screams, clutching her nearly destroyed arm to her chest and trying to get back onto her feet. Her legs absolutely refused to work. She was screwed. Grimacing, she closed her eyes and held up her hands, a blinding flash emitting from them - all she could do to buy herself time.
“... That won’t do anything to save you!” Shala screamed as she charged Ella.
… However, a glowing coral-pink orb appeared in the middle of the dining room… much larger than the one created before. It exploded in a flash of pink, and it revealed the group of Kimberly, Jordan, Saskia, and Lisa. Not only that, Lisa had created three giant black widow spiders (one of which she was mounted on), equipped with dragonfly wings, and. She had a legion of flying spiders with her.
Her eyes turned towards Shala.
”... GET AWAY FROM HER!” Lisa screamed as she commanded one of the flying black widows to fly towards Shala. She could only glance over her shoulder as the spider wrapped itself around Shala… before she applied the Acid-Burst spell to it. It exploded into a massive blast of acid and chitin shrapnel… which splashed on her. It hit her in the cheek, and completely dissolved it, revealing her teeth on one side of her face. She screamed as it dripped down onto her chest and arm… dissolving flesh in a painful display.
As for Shala? She was absolutely obliterated. Most of the flesh on her body was dissolved while she was still standing, and she hit the ground with a thud… what was left of her. The toxic mixture of dissolved flesh and acid sizzled against the ground as everyone looked on in horror.
“... Hmph,” Ignatius said, “She had no place in not only the Endless Seven, but the Society itself….”
”Lisa, Saskia!" Ella groaned, pushing herself onto her knees. Blood dripped down her arm from where it had been mauled, and she could barely move. ”I’m so… glad to see you…"
"Shit, Lisa, can you use some healing spiders on her?" Saskia asked. Her whole body was covered in a thin layer of blood, bone spear jutting out of her fist. She pulled it back in, running over to Ella to try and help her stand. "C’mon, we’ve got to go."
”... Don’t whine this time!” Lisa shouted, as she flicked some healing spiders onto Ella with both hands.
”You said that about Mala’Boolaan too!” Ella said woozily, pointing a finger up at Ignatius. At least, someone had shit talked Mala’Boolaan when he died. ”They both put up a good fight!"
“Thank you for the show!” Luis shouted as he held the door open to leave. Shayton, Shaquita, we’re out of here.”
With a stoic expression on their faces, the two Dollhouse goons left. Shayton vanished in a burst of speed, and Shaquita, the mysterious woman, hopped off the banister and landed without so much as flinching. She calmly followed behind Luis, Natalie, and Heinrich, as the door closed behind them.
Ignatius shook his head, as he narrowed. “You five are going to leave now before we can catch you, right?”
The spiders bunched up around Lisa, as a Coral-Pink sphere formed around them.
And Ignatius flicked his hand, “... Just go already.”
"Send someone stronger next time!" Ella shouted as she limped into the sphere, leaning heavily on Saskia.
Lisa flipped off Ignatius…
… Before they were all gone.
They appeared back in Kimberly and Jordan’s hotel room, and immediately Kimberly shook her head.
“Well…” She walked over to her bottle of scotch and poured herself a glass. “... That was a disaster.”
”Hey!” Lisa said, ”We took out a member of the Endless Seven!”
“... When the plan was to bug them,” Jordan shook her head as she sat down on the nearby computer chair. “It won’t matter how many of the Endless Seven we kill when they just get replaced.” She shrugged.
"We also ruined their meeting," Saskia pointed out.
”And any replacements will be weaker!” Ella flopped down on the couch, still feeling exhausted even though she’d been healed. She flexed her wrist and created a small ball of colour using a bit from the couch. She frowned as she compared the ball, clearly duller than the sofa’s colour (with a missing white patch). ”One of them can weaken abstractions… I dunno how long this’ll last.”
”I mean…” Lisa twiddled her thumbs, awkwardly looking up at Kimberly then to Jordan. ”We did bug them. Well, not in the annoy kind of way, but my spiders got bugs on each of the Endless Seven.”
“... Wait, you did?!” Jordan said.
“Sweet!” Kimberly threw a fist into the air. “That means we can figure out what Morningstar’s plan is so we can stop them!”
”... Do we have to lay low again?”
“Yes,” Kimberly laughed, “Yes, you do.”
”Aw.”
”More time to catch up on anime!” Ella cheered. Honestly, she was all right with a few days of laying low after that fight.
Saskia frowned, looking Kimberley dead in the eye. "Can I move into your room?"
_______________________________________________ Bébé " Bé " Harold Rochefoucauld
He/Him | 25 | French | 5'11" | 170 lbs _______________________________________________ Cold-hearted. _______________________________________________ Skills & Talents "I could, but I don't like getting my hands dirty." ___________________________________
Wealthy ⫻ Bé was fortunate enough to have been born to great riches and wealth. Though not exactly a skill, he has learned that access to money has provided him with many opportunities in life. He can and continues to use his wealth to his advantage.
Patient ⫻ Bé is naturally intelligent and clever, possessing an uncanny degree of patience. Though he may seem idle and disinterested in those around him, in actuality, he is always playing the long game. Patience is his greatest virtue.
Booksmart ⫻ Often finding the unpredictability of people to be annoying, Bé finds reading to be immeasurably enjoyable and cathartic, affording him over the years a compounding wealth of knowledge across various topics, some more useful than others. He seems to always have a small pocket-sized book on hand.
Pianist ⫻ During his formative years, Bé's mother classically trained him to play the piano until his fingertips bled.
Photographic Memory ⫻ Perhaps he was born with such a trait or maybe it simply developed as he grew older, but Bé has an immaculate, photographic memory. He can recall experiences far back into the past as if they just happened yesterday. He can describe them down to every vivid detail. His memory is so advanced that he can remember the sensations he felt at the time, physical, emotional, or otherwise. Bé remembers faces like photos in a picture book. He never forgets a face once he sees it in person.
Bilingual ⫻ Raised in Monaco for most his younger years, Bé speaks French and English.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Don't let them lie to you. Beauty is currency, and you don't have it."
Sharing a striking resemblance to his mother, Bé is what one might call "beauty personified." This man was sculpted by the hands of Aphrodite herself, the true embodiment of tall, dark, handsome, and brooding. His presence commands attention wherever he goes, with a face that could rival the gods themselves. He has sharp angles, from his jawline to his nose, while the fullness of his lips entice you with the promise of a moonlit kiss.
This hunk has clear brown skin and enchanting aqua-colored eyes that sparkle and contrast against his dark skin; with a gaze that could pierce through any man or woman's soul, it provides him an almost mystical sort of beauty. His thick, curly black hair adds a playful regalness to his overall aesthetic, perfectly complementing his otherworldly allure.
His stunning visage is accented by a model-like physique almost too perfect to be real. Every contour of his body offers a harmonious balance of tone, muscle, and proportion. You can imagine Bé has carefully curated his body to be what it is, though immaculate genetics go a long way.
Bé tends to wear outfits that are uniform, clean, and sleek in appearance, giving him an air of sophistication. He doesn't wear flashy clothes, preferring to let his natural beauty speak for itself. Bé is known to wear all black and is a sucker for a crisp black turtleneck, black slacks, a belt, and loafers. Sometimes he switches it up and wears all white, often as a tunic or some kind of silk garment. He wears a unusual serpetine bracelet on his left wrist.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I can hold a grudge like the devil himself. Try me."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ To be honest, Bé is a rather unmotivated individual with few goals to call his own. However, his one main goal is to uncover who his true father is. Husbands 3, 4, and 5 are potential candidates, but his mother refuses to tell him. He does not know why, but he plans to find out.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Bé is deeply distrustful of others and the concept of love itself. He believes that everyone has ulterior motives, leading him to approach relationships with a heavy dose of cynicism. His past has hardened his heart and extinguished any visible semblance of empathy within him. This is a young man who views emotions as weaknesses and would rather sit on the sidelines and watch as everyone throws themselves into the pits of chaos.
SECRETS ⫻ He's a closeted homosexual, so there's that. Bé doesn't know that he is a clone of his former self, a secret only his mother and one other person know. During the conflict with the Stygian Snake, Bé could have saved a coven member's life and instead, fueled by a bitter grudge, he watched as that person died a slow, painful death. He then secretly used his gift to transform their corpse into a bracelet, which he wears on his left wrist.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Closeted homo. His heart beats for other men, but no one needs to know that.
FEARS ⫻ Bé fears never uncovering who his real father is. Little does he know, he doesn't have one.
REPUTATION IN OLD COVEN ⫻ Bé was not kind to the other members of the Coven. His condescending and cold nature was an unwelcomed addition during his short tenure. The only reason he stuck around was because of the lies from someone who said they could help him uncover the truth about his father. Once he learned of this falsehood, he abandoned the Coven shortly after they defeated the Stygian Snake.
ROLE IN THE BATTLE AGAINST THE STYGIAN SNAKE ⫻ Bitter about the lies that had been told to him, Bé didn't get super involved in the conflict like he probably should have. Instead, he begrudgingly served as a support player, using his gift to help save innocents. When he could have saved a particular coven member's life, he instead, watched as that person died a slow and painful death and then used his gift to transform their corpse into a bracelet.
FLAWS ⫻ He can hold a grudge like it's no one's business and is known to be a bit prideful, sometimes to his own detriment. Bé would rather wither away in the ditches than ask someone for help.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "My mother was a curious woman. And my fathers — well — they all met their untimely demise, one way or another."
Bébé was born into a world of glamour and mystique, the son of the famously beautiful French actress Mademoiselle Vanille Rochefoucauld. His childhood in Monaco was one of luxury and excess, his every whim catered to amidst the opulent backdrop of his mother's success and grandiose lifestyle. Yet, beneath the facade of wealth and privilege lay a dark secret. Madame Vanille was married seven times over, with each of her seven husbands dying mysterious deaths and leaving her all the more wealthier and enigmatic than before.
Tragedy struck Bébé's young life when, at the tender age of 14, he was murdered in the thick of night by one of his mother's scorned ex-lovers, stabbed through the heart, leaving Madame Vanille devastated and inconsolable. Desperate to mend her shattered soul, Madame Vanille turned to the aid of an old hermit (Adept) in St. Portwell, Oregon, for whom she'd been referred to by a long-ago contact who owed her a favor. Using a fragment of Madame Vanille's heart, the hermit used his magic to clone Bébé, imbuing the clone with the memories and personality of her beloved son, though purposefully leaving out the memories of his murder. Unaware of his cloned existence or his death at the hand of another, Bebe emerged into the world once more, haunted by fragmented memories of the last 14 years and an insatiable longing for the truth of his origins and "father". Madame Vanille has kept the secret of his death and rebirth from him, maybe to protect him or, perhaps, to assuage her own guilt.
Driven by a relentless desire to uncover the truth, Bé was drawn into the orbit of a teenage girl who tantalized him with promises of his father's identity and where he might be. Bé used his magic to support her goals in the hope that this answer would be revealed. Instead he was met with bitter betrayal when the lie came to light as nothing more than a rouse to get him to use his magic for her own cause. During the battle against the Stygian Snake, Bé's bitterness and resentment boiled over. Possessed by an all-consuming rage-induced grudge, Bé watched as his betrayer met a slow and painful death. After they died, he secretly used his gift to transform their corpse into a bracelet that looks like a serpent eating its own tail. Till this day, he still wears this serpentine bracelet on his left wrist.
No longer bound to the newly formed Sycamore Tree Coven under false pretenses, Bé left just after they defeated the Stygian Snake, moving back to Monaco with his mother, where he would live out the rest of his privileged teen years. At the age of 18, he made his way to Paris to pursue a career in modeling, achieving moderate success over the next several years. But as the coven's ranks dwindle and dark forces gather on the horizon to eliminate them one by one, Bé's journey has come full circle, and he must return to that little American town once again before he's next, again.
Abstraction ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I don't need to pluck at the threads of your existence to see you for what you really are."
TYPE ⫻ Aberration (Abominable)
ABSTRACTION ⫻ The Golden Threads of Khalvat; When Bé activitates his gift, he sees the world around him as golden threads, cosmic filaments he can pull, pluck, tug, and twist, allowing him to reshape dense matter to his imagination and whims.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻
Quantum Transfiguration Bé has what you might call, a limited form of reality warping. When he activates his unusual gift, his eyes glow with a celestial-like golden radiance and he sees the world around him as golden threads. To him, everything in his immediate environment is composed of its own unique entanglement of these golden filaments and they feel like a catepillar's fur to the touch. To others, these cosmic filaments are, initially, completely invisible. Only he can see the world in this way, which he affectionally calls Khalvat.
When Bé plucks or tugs or pulls on the entangled threads that surround an object like a silhouette, he can completely transfigure that object into whatever he can imaginae, transforming a gun into a swarm of moths or a rabid dog into a music box. Only when he is plucking on these golden strings, do they briefly become visible to those around him, releasing a beautiful, angelic hum, and then, the strings disappear once again, and the transformation is complete.
He can also use his gift in more subtle ways, like transfiguring a penny into a 100 dollar bill, making someone beautiful or taller or more muscular. Maybe give them a new outfit or make them look like someone else, or transfigure part of a wall to create a door. Hell, he could even give someone wings or revert them back to a version of themselves before they were fatally injured (in theory).
LIMITS ⫻
As it stands, Bé cannot use his gift on himself, so he can't transform himself in any way. He can only manipulate dense forms, so can't make something out of nothing nor can he transfigure something like air or moonlight. Due to the physical nature of his gift, he cannot alter the fabric of matter from a distance; he must be close enough to physically pull on the quantum strings surrounding them, which can be dangerous if he's not careful with his positioning. As such, his gift only works in his immediate environment. If he transfigures something into a living being, he only has brief control over it before its natural processes take over and it begins to behave as it normally would.
When it comes to his manipulation of the world around him, size matters. He can't warp something that's too big, like a large building or a mountain, nor can he change one thing into another thing where the size difference is too extreme, like turning a cat into a commercial airplane.
There is one particular limitation he has regarding dead people. He can't use his gift to bring people back to life by transfiguring their corpse into a version of themselves when they were alive. This is because the cosmic strings of dead people are completely black and black strings cannot be twisted into something that is alive. As such, he can only transform a corpse into something that is inanimate or non-living. Also, at it's core, this is a power that "MUST be used responsibly".
WEAKNESSES ⫻ (DO NOT FILL THIS OUT, I WILL PROVIDE IT FOR YOU)
Other ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "Goodnight, love."
Bé enjoys collecting strange curios, some of which he keeps in jars and not all of them legal. He's got a black cat named Emanuelle back home in his Parisian flat. Bé has never dated a single man in his entire life, often suppressing those urges and staying in the closet so as not to jeopardize his burgeoning modeling career, and also, he just believes love to be a fallacy in most cases. It is a sentiment he developed as a first-hand witness to his mother's tumultuous love life. Actually, there was one guy...but...that was a long time ago.
Accepted.
WEAKNESSES ⫻ Using his gift to transfigure dense matter can be physically and mentally draining for Bé. The larger the object, the more effort it takes, causing him to tire far quicker. Repeated or prolonged use can lead to severe exhaustion, nosebleeds, dizziness, and fainting. If he pushes himself to his limits, he will suffer excruciating headaches, physical pain, and even organ failure. The complexity of transfiguring something can overwhelm Bé's mind, when manipulating intricate or detailed objects, he must maintain a high degree of focus. If his concentration breaks during the transfiguration process, the result can be catastrophic—creating unstable matter, causing objects to collapse, or leading to unintended transformations. Changes made by Bé's gift will be reverted if he is severely injured, or rendered unconscious. Bé's abstraction is influenced by environmental factors, and may be affected by strong electromagnetic fields, magical activity, or extreme weather conditions. Making it difficult for him to use this abstraction altogether.
"Drake! Move out the way! She's trying to kill you!"
Drake didn't move or so much as flinch.
He had his Thunder guard active, after all!
He just ducked behind the electric barrier he had created, confident that it could stop whatever Luna had up her sleeve. He could hear Stormy and Sully shouting at Drake to stop, like he was the bad guy here. Didn't they see the binoculars? The bitch was stalking them! She was either that Wolf Bastard or she was working for him! Drake knew it in his heart! They caught him flat-footed, and they finally made a breakthrough. He didn't stop until Luna went limp and fell out of the tree into Stormy's arms...
... He erected barriers between the two of them.
Like Drake was the bad guy here.
”Drake! That’s enough! I’ve got her! Drop your weapon! This isn’t getting us anywhere! You and I are going to have a long and thorough discussion about escalating later, Drake.”
”Bro...” Drake muttered under his breath with a roll of his eyes. Was Stormy really going to take the side of some mafia bitch that was stalking them over the word of his bro? Or did he want Luna later? What happened to the bro code? Bros before hoes! And this hoe had something up her sleeve.
But, as requested, Drake dispelled both the Thunderguard and the Electric Flail. He was still surrounded by a small field of electricity as he was flying. However, he floated downwards, staring at Stormy so intensely that Stormy probably could feel it through the shields. As he floated down, he crossed his arms and spoke to Stormy, defending his actions with full confidence.
”Me? Escalating?” Drake began. ”Have you already forgotten someone is literally trying to kill us? Lyss died just the other day, Stormy. We can NOT afford to play games.”
He looked over to Tayla and Sully for a moment, ”... Especially with shady motherfuckers like her! And two, you probably didn't hear it, but someone sent her to spy on us, and she refused to tell us who. So I did what I had to.”
He hit the ground, threw his hands into the air, and said, ”It could be that Wolf Bastard for all we know! That would make sense, wouldn't it? A lot of sense.” He crossed his arms and said to Stormy, ”And even if she isn't working with or for Father Wolf, you haven't been in St. Portwel in over ten years, Stormy. Some of the groups that call St. Portwell home...?”
He let out a sarcastic chuckle.
”... Yeah, you can't play softball with them.”
"Good going, Drake. Stormy, give him a break. If you felt what I felt from her, you wouldn't say anything about escalating. You said yourself that she couldn't be trusted. I didn't feel anything good coming off of her. There's...an intent there. I don't like it."
At least somebody had some sense here. Tayla knew that something was off with Luna, but you don't need Pink Lux for that. Maybe the Mafia life wasn't what it was cracked up to be.
”Now, drop the shields, and let's go find something to tie her u-”
His speech was interrupted by Sully tackling him to the ground at Mach-Jesus.
To put emphasis on how important Kari is and to give people a far better insight into her and her character and not because I was really inspired to write a sheet for her, I wrote up a complete character sheet for Kari.
_______________________________________________ Kari Anastasia Wilson
She/Her | 26 | African-American | 4'11ft | 168lb _______________________________________________ Inadequate _______________________________________________ Skills & Talents "Unfortunately, I have little to offer besides my abstraction." ___________________________________
Creative Writing ⫻ Kari has always had a talent for creative writing. She has been a bookworm and storyteller since childhood. She has a vivid imagination and can weave deep, complex storylines that could make Hollywood hang their heads. This skill was developed to help her express her thoughts and emotions creatively, turning her experiences into short stories and poetry.
Drawing and Art ⫻ In addition to her writing, Kari is a skilled artist with a focus on drawing. She enjoys sketching scenes from her imagination and illustrating characters from her stories. Her artwork ranges from simple drawings to more detailed and colorful pieces that she finishes off in some image editors. These days, Kari uses her art as a form of creative therapy, allowing her to explore, express, and healthily process her emotions.
Problem-Solving ⫻ Kari is an excellent problem-solver with an analytical mind that was developed through her time in the Old Coven. There, she had to think on her feet and stay calm under pressure, which shaped her ability to find creative solutions to problems.
Mediation and Conflict Resolution ⫻ A skill that emerged from her role as a peacemaker in the Old Coven, she made herself great at solving conflicts and fostering peace between members of the Old Coven. She was empathetic in resolving disputes, often helping others find common ground and understand different perspectives. She played a crucial role in keeping the group together for as long as possible, though she couldn't help but feel like she was only delaying the inevitable.
Firearms ⫻ Born out of necessity due to the increasingly dangerous situation in St. Portwell and that she's practically helpless compared to some of the others, Kari has learned how to handle and operate firearms, specifically pistols. Though she doesn't consider herself a gunslinger, Kari dedicated time to learning the fundamentals, ensuring she could handle a pistol safely and accurately.
Appearance ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I'm cuddly."
The All-Knowing, All-Caring woman herself!
Kari is a petite and approachable woman, with not so much hair on her body that anyone would find intimidating. Whether it's her short stature, smile, or chubby facial features, she looks very approachable and open, not the kind of person who would be mysterious at all. She usually speaks with a very bubbly tone and usually has a friendly, open demeanor. Smiling, eye contact to ensure she's listening, and positive energy are her trademarks; even in tense situations, Kari maintains a calm and reassuring presence.
Kari is a petite African-American woman, standing at just four-eleven, with a chubby frame that she was cursed with since childhood due to her shitty genetics and love of eating. Her build is voluptuous, with a fat butt but a relatively average chest at 34B, and she carries herself with a casual, almost reserved demeanor. Her round face is marked by a gentle smile, which, when it appears, brings warmth to all in sight. Something as trademark as her smile are her wire-frame glasses that not only correct her shitty eyesight but add another layer of cuteness and sophistication to the gal.
Her hair is naturally curly due to the afro texture that all African Americans have. Still, Kari keeps it straightened and is generally styled in a way that suits her laid-back personality. Kari often pulls her hair back into a simple ponytail or bun, but she lets that hang loose at home. Her hair is usually kept at a manageable length, long enough to style but not so long that it becomes a hassle. Kari's wardrobe reflects her modest personality, with a focus on dresses that are simple yet flattering. She prefers A-line cuts that complement her chubby frame but don't show too much. To add a touch of character to her look, she might wear patterns like black-on-black stripes or polka dots, enhancing her witchy vibes without drawing too much attention.
Kari doesn't go for accessories, but she keeps it simple when she does. She might wear small earrings or a delicate necklace, but she rarely opts for anything too flashy. However, she usually carries a small crossbody bag or a simple tote to hold her essentials, typically a book to read or a notepad. Footwear is another area where Kari's practicality shines; she generally picks comfortable shoes like black flats or pumps and puts on Sneakers or slip-on shoes when she expects to be on her feet for a while. Sometimes, she will put on some ankle or combat boots.
However, Kari usually has a wide-brimmed fedora on her head, which gives her a witch-like vibe.
Psychology ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "You don't know what it's like to be helpless as the only thing you can do is watch the people you love get ripped apart."
MAIN GOAL ⫻ Kari's primary goal is to find a purpose. After the collapse of the Old Coven and the loss of her closest friend, the Magical Girls, she is unsure of where to go or what to do with her life. The trauma she experienced has left her feeling broken and without a clear direction, and it weighs heavily on her as she tries to reconcile the person she once was with the person she's become. Her purpose has shifted from finding a way to defeat the Stygian Snake to coping with the war inside her. She longs for a place or group that can give her something to belong to, as she not only finds her inner peace but something that can help her rebuild her sense of self-worth. Kari's goal is ultimately to rediscover who she is and what she stands for, but she's unsure where to start. The dissolution of the Old Coven left her with more questions than answers, and she's constantly searching for signs of hope in a world that feels hopeless.
PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Kari used to be the optimist; she believed in hope, love, and compassion and thought that she could use her magic to make everyone happy. Kari previously believed in the power of second chances and advocated forgiveness and redemption over punishment. She thought that regardless of their actions, people could alwayschange for the better. Her worldview was rooted in empathy and a fundamental belief in the goodness of human nature and everyone has some good in them. This naive belief shaped her role as a mediator, always seeking to bridge gaps and resolve conflicts with understanding above anything else. However, Britney Williams's actions utterly shattered this optimistic outlook. The realization that someone she trusted could harm others for a weak reason utterly uprooted Kari's belief in second chances. She felt betrayed by the Old Coven's leadership for essentially allowing Britney to go unchecked until after the situation with the Stygian Snake had been revolved. It made her question the value of giving people a chance to redeem themselves when it led to more pain and suffering. This has left Kari skeptical of people's intentions and cautious about extending trust.
Despite it all, she still believes in compassion, but she's less willing to overlook people's actions and is thus far harsher on them, and she is more protective over the boundaries of not just herself but those around her. The experience with Britney has made her wary of people who seem well-intentioned, and she finds it difficult to forgive those who hurt people in the past, even if they claim they've changed. While she still values kindness, she strongly focuses on protecting herself.
SECRETS ⫻ Kari's observation spell allows her to observe locations and individuals remotely, and she has used this ability to uncover dark secrets within not only the Old Coven but also her present social circles. She has chosen to keep some secrets, fearing the repercussions of revealing them. Additionally, Kari's observations have led her to discover some truths about the Stygian Snake and beings similar to it, knowledge that she guards fiercely.
SEXUALITY ⫻ Kari is pansexual and is attracted to people regardless of gender. However, Kari's guilt, self-hatred, feelings of inadequacy and the loss of her friends have left her detached from romantic and sexual relationships. The trauma of losing those she cared about has made it difficult for her to form new romantic connections, leading her to focus on rebuilding her sense of self-worth instead. However, Kari's pansexuality remains a crucial part of her identity, and she hasn't given up on relationships. Deep down, she hopes to find someone who can understand her pain and help her heal.
FEARS ⫻ Kari's greatest fear is losing control over her life and abilities. The collapse of the Old Coven and Britney Williams's actions have left her desperate to keep control of her life and her actions—she refuses to let anyone dictate the fate of herself and others. She worries that her Observation spell, once a source of pride, power, and limitless knowledge, could become a liability if used against her. After losing Lisa, Saskia, and Saskia in the battle with the Stygian Snake, she fears forming new connections because she fears she will only lose them in the end. This made her more reserved and hesitant to socialize, even though she longs for it. A struggle where she attempts to balance the need for human companionship with pushing people away so she doesn't lose more people. Finally, Kari is haunted by the memories of the Stygian Snake's rampage and the destruction it caused, including the deaths of Ella, Lisa, and Saskia. This fear drives her to continue using her observation spell to monitor Shimmer and the adjacent world, hoping she can prevent another tragedy.
REPUTATION IN OLD COVEN ⫻ In the Old Coven, Kari had a reputation for being a compassionate and caring individual, someone who was always willing to help others. Her crowning achievement was locating the Apparition Killer, an artifact that allowed the Old Coven to defeat the Stygian Snake. Alongside this, Kari used her observation spell to find other valuable artifacts, such as the Bull's Ring, which proved essential in the Coven's battle against the Stygian Snake. This earned her the respect and admiration of her peers, making her one of the most valued members of the Coven. Beyond that, Kari was also known for her talent as a mediator. When conflicts arose within the Old Coven, she often stepped in and tried to de-escalate the situation. Her ability to understand different perspectives made her a natural peacemaker, but there was only so much Kari could do. Kari was the one who discovered that Britney was forcing people to adjoin with Apparitions, and rather than staying silent, she brought the issue to the Coven's leadership and pushed for accountability. However, this was during the Coven's darkest hour, and the leadership requested that she remain quiet. However, after the Stygian Snake was defeated, she openly announced to the entire Coven Britney's actions with proof and pushed for her removal. This move showed her commitment to justice and the well-being of others and made some view her as even more of a hero. This truly cemented her as a vital member of the Old Coven, but again, there was only so much one person could do, and it meant little in the end as the Coven fell apart.
However, she wasn't above criticism, as many found her ability (and habit) to spy on people without their knowledge uncomfortable and leveled complaints at her as well. Some even lobbied to have her removed despite her contributions.
ROLE IN THE BATTLE WITH THE STYGIAN SNAKE ⫻ During the battle with the Stygian Snake, Kari played a pivotal role in the Old Coven. Using her Observation spell, she could remotely track the Stygian Snake's movements and locate key critical artifacts in the fight. Using her Observation spell, she could track the Stygian Snake and its forces, thus allowing them to strategize and form plans. While also informing them of traps, ambushes, and other dangers and leading them to key locations where they could strike back against the Stygian Snake's thralls, Apparitions, and Abominable. The most significant contribution to the Old Coven was locating the Apparition Killer, the ultimate weapon used to weaken the Stygian Snake so they could seal it into that tree. This discovery required countless hours of observing different dimensions, but it all paid off. She told the Old Coven where it was located, and the recovery team found it in a complex labyrinth and brought it back to Shimmer just in time for the final battle.
FLAWS ⫻ Once a cheerful and fun-loving young lady, the loss of her closest friends and the betrayals she witnessed left her emotionally scarred for loss. This trauma manifests in her as self-hatred and feelings of inadequacy, leading her to brutally question her self-worth. Kari often doubts herself despite her accomplishments, which has dampened her confidence. She struggles to let go of past mistakes and feels a neverending guilt for being unable to do anything to save Lisa, Saskia, and Ella. Her traumatic experiences have also led to a general sense of detachment; Kari finds it challenging to form new relationships and tends to isolate herself, being unable to approach and create new meaningful relationships. This makes her appear distant and aloof, even though she cares for those around her. Her reluctance to engage with others on a deeper level stems from her fear of experiencing more loss. This makes it difficult for people to understand her and misinterpret her feelings.
Backstory ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I'm sad to say I'll never be as important or useful as I was in the Old Coven..."
Native of St. Portwell, Kari grew up in a quiet neighborhood, surrounded by a close-knit family. She was the family's bookworm and always preferred the company of her favorite literature over playing games with the other kids. As a child, she had a strong imagination and got lost in her thoughts, creating entire worlds. She spent her time as a kid writing stories that she would make into TV shows and movies! Her nature as an introvert made it hard for her to make new friends (That wasn't a bad thing because it wasn't her primary interest), but her best friend, as long as she could remember, Elsa Conner, whether Kari wanted her to or not, was always there to pull her out of her shell. Despite her hesitance, Kari would often find herself tagging along with Elsa to parties and doing things to make Elsa happy. Despite her reluctance to leave home sometimes, their friendship was as solid as it gets and built on a foundation of trust, love, and shared experiences. The two of them balanced each other out, where Elsa helped Kari become more social, and Kari mellowed out Elsa's more excitable side and kept her from acting too impulsively.
Kari's childhood was not notable, as she just did regular kid stuff... however, the Stygian Snake's arrival at St. Portwell changed everything enough to force Kari out of her shell. People started dying in boatloads, there were millions of dollars in damages, and nobody could explain why. What started as a regular night out turned into a nightmare as they found themselves in the crosshairs of the Stygian Snake's rampage. They were hanging out at Elsa's house when the Stygian Snake's thralls attacked them. Kari's instincts kicked in, and her quick thinking helped them survive, but the event caused both of them to undergo a Kindling-Event - with Kari activating her White Lux and Elsa activating her Red Lux. However, it didn't do them much good because the Stygian Snake's minions were on top of them and had no spells at their current disposal.
Britney Williams, a member of the Sycamore Tree Coven, rescued them and introduced them to a world Kari had only read about in books: the world of magic and the paranormal. It was something fresh, new, unique, and exciting! She discovered the wonders of magic and met many people, including her friend group, "The Magical Girls," which consisted of herself, Ella Brooks, Saskia Otten, and Lisa Turner. Not only did Britney see potential in both Kari and Elsa, but Kari's White Lux intrigued her the most. With the instructions and expertise of Britney, Kari was able to develop the spell that would be a breakthrough in the fight against the Stygian Snake: Observation.
Through some tweaking, trial and error, and experimentation, Kari could observe a location remotely as if she were there and peer into different dimensions in the All-Verse. This spell made her an invaluable asset to the Sycamore Tree Coven, allowing them to track the movements of the Stygian Snake and locate valuable artifacts like the Bull's Ring and the key to defeating the Stygian Snake: The Apparition Killer. She spent an entire week looking for the sword and watching over the parties that went to recover them. Kari became a crucial player in the Coven's battle against the Stygian Snake, as without them, they would not have been able to find the Apparition Killer and would have lost the final battle.
However, apart from her "all-caring" person, Kari would occasionally observe the people she cared about to keep tabs on them, and this is how she was the one who found out that Britney Williams was going around adjoining people to Apparitions by force. She brought this up to the Coven's leadership, who told her to keep quiet until things blew over. Kari was not happy about it, but she had no choice but to oblige with the Old Coven's leadership. Not only that, she found out about her friend Lisa Turner's stalking habits, but unlike Britney, she figured that she was going to talk to Lisa about it gently after everything blows over.
However, despite it all, they pulled through and sealed the Stygian Snake, but Kari wasn't happy at all... Not only did she practically have to sit by and let Britney hurt people, but she lost her three best friends (Lisa, Saskia, and Ella) and watched them die, helpless to do anything about it. She remained in the Old Coven despite the trauma they brought her, but one of the first things that Kari did was reveal to the entire Coven what Britney was doing and provide proof. Then, she attempted to steer the Coven toward removing Britney and helping her victims.
Though, instead of listening to her, the Sycamore Tree Coven faced internal strife and constant bickering. Kari, ever the peacemaker, tried to keep the group together, but not even she could keep the Coven together. She watched as everyone left one by one, and she was one of the last members there - and even thought about forming her own Coven, but ultimately. After the Coven broke up, Kari found herself at a crossroads; she didn't know what to do with her life; she felt so attached to them, yet all she could do was stare at the remains. Not only that, the Coven left her with heaps of guilt, self-hatred, and inadequacy, and she just desperately wanted the rest of the magical girls back so they could be together again.
Years passed, and her feelings intensified as she realized she would never be as important as in the Old Coven. Her parents, survivors of the "natural disaster" that hit St. Portwell, decided to retire to Florida and left Kari their house—her childhood home. Hoping for a semblance of normalcy, she went to college, dropped out, and ultimately took a secretary position at a tech firm owned by the illustrious Blake Schmidt, Paragon United Tech Solutions.
However, her curiosity about the Stygian Snake never faded. In her spare time, Kari continued to use her Obersation Spell to peer into other dimensions, gathering information about the Stygian Snake, other beings out there, and whatever else she could ascertain about the alternate dimensions (but often she found people (and monsters) banging). She didn't just view these events; she wrote them down into a collection of different notes and had amassed thousands of notes detailing findings on not just the Stygian Snake but other Paranormal-Beings. She kept them safe with the help of Kenshiro Murakin.
As much as she tried to, Kari couldn't shut out the deteriorating situation in the city, and unfortunately, one of the Coven's vast mistakes reared its head: Emily G. Reed. Kari knew that Emily had formed her own Coven, but she began harassing Kari to join 8th Street due to how useful she was, and she wasn't taking no for an answer. Despite Kari's best attempts, she had no choice but to join one of the other factions to get Emily off her back, and she enjoyed some peace.
A few months later, the murders began, and Kari began acting strange... she withdrew from all social circles, quit her job, and just remained in her house until Father Wolf murdered her. She was buried next to her best friend, Elsa Connor, also a victim of Father Wolf.
That should have been the end, but it turns out that, after summoning her spirit, their Kari has been replaced by another from another universe. Thus, the reformed Sycamore Tree Coven has been attempting to track Kari down to figure out just what exactly happened to her.
And if she has anything to do with Father Wolf.

TYPE ⫻ Adept.
ABSTRACTION ⫻White Lux. Her Channeler is her friendship bracelet with Elsa.
ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Kari Wilson's White Lux manifests into a blend of intuition, perception, and compassion, designed to navigate both the physical and emotional realms. Her spells range from powerful observation abilities that allow her to see and hear from afar, to empathic connections that help her understand the emotions and well-being of others. Kari's spellbook is flexible, with spells that let her explore the unseen, uncover hidden truths, and locate friends in need. At the heart of her magic is a deep sense of empathy and a strong bond with those she cares about, guiding her actions and strengthening her resolve. Whether she's tracing magical disturbances or creating a beacon of light to signal her location, Kari's magic is a testament to her profound understanding of all elements of life.
OBSERVATION ⫻ A pinnacle Spell in Kari Wilson's (and the Old Coven's) magical arsenal, and it is also the most potent. By focusing her mind, she can establish an "Observation Point," a magical focal point that she can move around freely to scan the surrounding area. Through this Observation Point, Kari can visualize the location as if she had an extra pair of floating eyes and can also hear everything through this Observation Point. With Observation, Kari can explore various locations without physically being there and establish Observation Points to gather information from different parts of the same building, across St. Portwell, or even in entirely separate dimensions. Unlike traditional scrying spells, which require an existing connection to the target, Kari's Observation can leap into unknown places and navigate as needed. She can adjust her perspective, zooming in or panning out as required, and it can move through walls, floors, and other barriers completely undetected by mundane means. Not only that, Kari can create up to four Observation Points and move them around independently of one another, which is a powerful asset. However, creating multiple Observation Points increases the strain on her mind, requiring far more concentration and causing more fatigue with extended use.
The Loving Eye ⫻ A sub-spell under Kari's overall Observation spell, this allows her to create an observation point on someone she loves or cares about at will. Once created, the observation point stays with and follows the person, enabling Kari to watch over them from wherever they are, regardless of whether or not they're in the same dimension. The observation point provides real-time visual and auditory information, allowing her to keep a loving eye over them.
INTUITIVE PERCEPTION ⫻ This discipline, characterized by its focus on information spells, plays a crucial role in Kari's spellbook. These spells harness the power of perception and intuition, allowing her to gather insights and uncover hidden truths with a touch or a focused gaze. Each spell within this group offers a unique way for Kari to gain information, whether through direct contact with objects and people or by tapping into the subtle energies surrounding apparitions and artifacts.
Mechanical Insight ⫻ A spell that allows Kari to instantly learn the inner workings of an object with a mere touch. When she makes contact with an item, she gains knowledge of its construction, functionality, and possible uses. The depth of understanding depends on how long she touches the object; she can discern even intricate details and subtle mechanisms with prolonged touch. With this ability, she can identify weak points, locate hidden compartments, and gain insight into complex devices or artifacts.
Apparition Insight ⫻ This spell grants Kari an instinctual understanding of Apparitions by allowing her to view their aura and concentrate on it. She can determine what belief or emotion spawns the Apparition and get a general sense of their Abstraction. As she gazes into the aura, the spell reveals clues about the Apparition's nature and, thus, its intentions.
Artifact Intuition ⫻ A crucial spell in the fight against the Stygian Snake, one that Kari made to help the Old Coven decide if a recovered artifact was helpful or not. When Kari places her hands on an artifact, she can instantly sense its magical properties, understanding its intended use and any hidden functions it might possess. The longer she holds the Artifact, the more detailed her understanding becomes, allowing her to identify its core mechanisms and deduce how to activate or utilize its magical properties.
Pericognition ⫻ Pericognition is a spell that enables Kari to gain contextual information from an object through touch. Instead of focusing on the internal workings, this spell allows her to understand the history surrounding the item. When Kari places her hand on an object, she can sense its past — such as the last few people who handled it and significant events in which it was involved. The longer she maintains contact, the deeper her insight becomes, allowing her to create a timeline of key moments or interactions related to the object.
Fate-Touch ⫻ When Kari touches someone, she can gain insight into their fate, perceiving hints about events in their future. It's not quite the ability to see when it's somebody's time to go, but she can provide a vague guess on it on touch. With prolonged contact, she can gain information on events in a person's purple, and the longer she maintains contact, the more evident this will become as she learns about the timing of those events.
Tracer ⫻ Tracer is a spell designed to detect the residual energy left behind by magical disturbances. When cast, Tracer scans an area for any signs of magical activity for Kari and creates a floating glowing orb at the exact spot where it occurred. By focusing on this orb, Kari can identify the type of magic used, giving her knowledge on both the abstAbstraction used and the kind of Paranormal-Being(s) involved. Additionally, the Tracer spell picks up a "scent" of the residual energy, which manifests as a flowing glowing trail leading toward the source of the disturbance. The trail can guide Kari to the Paranormal-Being responsible for the magical event.
Information-Sharing ⫻ Information-Sharing allows Kari to transfer information gathered from her other spells to another person through touch. She can share details from Precognition or Mechanical-Insight by placing her hand on another power. This spell was crucial in the fight with the Stygian Snake and allowed her to share the location of the Apparition Killer and where the Stygian Snake's forces were. However, the transfer process can be disorienting and might take time for the recipient to comprehend it fully.
THE LOVING-CONNECTION ⫻ This spell group is driven by compassion and represents Kari's bond the people she loves and her ability to connect to them without magic. The spells in this discipline revolve around Kari's emotional ties, allowing her to locate, aid, and understand the people close to her.
Emotional Spectrum ⫻ This spell allows Kari to view the auras of people around her and understand their emotional states based on the colors she perceives. When cast, Emotional Spectrum manifests as an array of colors around the people in her vicinity. Each color corresponds to a specific emotion or state of mind: red signifies anger, blue represents sadness, green indicates happiness, yellow points to fear, and so forth. As Kari observes the person, she can identify emotional shifts and gauge the intensity of someone's feelings.
Friend-Finder ⫻ This spell allows Kari to locate her friends across significant distances by utilizing her emotional connection to find them using her White Lux. When cast, the spell locks onto the friend's aura signature, highlighting it with a color unique to them and can be seen by anybody nearby. This creates a path on the ground, guiding Kari or others directly to the person. The path's brightness and clarity depend on the strength of the bond between Kari and her friend.
Tender Embrace ⫻ A spell that allows Kari to assess a person's physical and emotional condition through touch. When she lays her hand on someone, the spell gently reads their body's signals and mental state, giving Kari a clear sense of any injuries or underlying emotional distress.
Compassionate Insight ⫻ Compassionate Insight allows Kari to trace the origin of a person's injury. By focusing on a wound, she is pulled into a Recollection that begins a few moments before they receive the injury and ends directly after the wound has been received.
Guardian Angel ⫻ A passive spell that grants Kari an intuitive danger sense when her friends or loved ones are in peril. It manifests as a surge of awareness in her mind, alerting her to when someone close to her is in distress. Guardian Angel allows Kari to briefly see the auras of her friends and loved ones to determine their exact location. The spell's sensitivity is tied to Kari's emotional bond with the individuals involved, with more robust connections yielding more precise warnings.
The Guiding Light ⫻ A spell Kari created to help people find her if she was ever in danger or got lost. It allows her to create a towering beacon of light that pierces the heavens, revealing her location to friends and allies. When cast, The Guiding Light emits an intense beam of light that can be seen from all over, even through solid barriers or dense obstacles. It serves as a pinpoint of Kari's location, no matter what obstructions might exist. The Guiding Light's intensity is directly proportional to Kari's emotional state, with stronger emotions producing a more potent beam.
LIMITS ⫻
OBSERVATION ⫻ While using Observation, Kari has to remain stationary and focus, if she is moved or attacked while using this spell, the Spell can be canceled entirely. Kari must find a secure and quiet location to concentrate when using Observation, which can restrict her ability to use the spell in chaotic or high-stress situations. The more Observation Points Kari creates, the more challenging it becomes to maintain control. Each additional point increases the cognitive load, requiring her to focus more and manage the resulting mental strain. While a single Observation Point can be maintained with relative ease, adding more can lead to disorientation and a shorter duration of use.
INTUITIVE PERCEPTION ⫻ If Kari overuses these spells, she risks severe fatigue, headaches, or even temporary loss of magical abilities due to mental exhaustion. The Mechanical Insight spell works best on physical mechanisms. The information gained might be minimal or irrelevant if the object relies on magical constructs. Fate-Touch can only offer insights into specific pivotal moments rather than a comprehensive view of a person's future, meaning Kari might miss significant events or draw incorrect conclusions. The Tracer spell has a half-hour time limit; beyond this, the glowing trail gradually fades until it disappears entirely. This spell can be used once per magical disturbance. Tracer's scent-based tracking might be imprecise in crowded or heavily trafficked areas, where the residual energy from multiple sources could cause confusion or misleading trails. Information-sharing can only transfer information gathered from the Observation and the Intuitive Perception disciplines. It cannot share knowledge or memories unrelated to these spells.
THE LOVING-CONNECTION ⫻ The Emotional Spectrum spell has a limited range of around three meters; anyone outside of it will be out of range. Environmental factors such as low light can interfere with the spell's effectiveness, making the auras unclear. The spell can overwhelm Kari with sensory input if many people are in the area, making it difficult to focus. Friend-finder requires a strong emotional connection to lock onto a specific person, and if Kari's bond with someone weakens, she may not be able to use the spell on them. The spell also doesn't reveal barriers, obstacles, or other hazards along the path, which is the shortest route to them. The Guardian Angel spell's "warning system" can sometimes trigger false alarms if a loved one is startled or under mild stress. The spell doesn't grant detailed information about the danger, only a general sense of distress. Its sensitivity is tied to Kari's emotional bond with people; if she's emotionally distant, the warning might not trigger. The Guiding Light lasts a limited duration, typically a few minutes, and gradually fades in time. While the beacon is highly visible, its effectiveness diminishes with distance, and its range is limited by terrain and weather conditions. Casting The Guiding Light consumes a significant amount of Kari's energy, limiting the number of times she can use it in a short period. It also has an hour of cooldown time before it can be used again.
WEAKNESSES ⫻
OBSERVATION ⫻ Observation is a powerful tool in Kari's arsenal. However, it comes at a cost. First and foremost, Kari has seen things she does not want to see more times than she can count, and the thoughts of it make her shudder. So, she can't use it willy-nilly, or else her psyche will not be able to handle it. Observation has made people uncomfortable in the past, as a spell that lets her spy on people without their knowledge is a potent tool.. she has to be careful who she informs of this ability and how she uses it. Observation has caused so much detachment and self-hatred in Kari due to her ability to see events but have no direct control over them as they play out. She watched her three friends die and was helpless to save them, which made her feel intense helplessness and guilt, which interfered with her social life. Prolonged use of Observation, especially with multiple Observation Points, can cause significant mental strain on Kari. This strain can manifest as intense headaches, fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. In extreme cases, excessive use of Observation could lead to memory loss or unconsciousness. Finally, while using Observation, she loses all ability sense through her body, leaving her vulnerable to attack. She has to remain immobile the entire time, which cannot help.
INTUITIVE PERCEPTION ⫻ Using Mechanical Insight on complex or magical objects for too long can lead to sensory overload, causing intense mental fatigue and confusion. Staring into an Apparition's aura for too long might expose Kari to negative energy and spiritual corruption. This can lead to disorientation and paranoia or even allow the Apparition to extend its influence on Kari and control her. Focusing on an Apparition's aura can alert the Apparition to Kari's presence, allowing them to see her aura. Artifact Intuition may expose Kari to cursed Artifacts, and by using this spell, certain artifacts might carry lingering memories or emotions that can affect Kari's psyche. Environmental conditions, such as wind, rain, fire, etc, can disrupt or destroy the trail created by the Tracer Spell, making it harder for Kari to follow or detect.
THE LOVING-CONNECTION ⫻ The Guiding Light is incredibly bright and noticeable, and everyone, friend and foe alike, can perceive it and track down her location. However, the other spells within the Loving Connection have no notable weaknesses or drawbacks.
Other ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔ "I am the key to everyone's happiness!"
As requested, I made up some locations for the various factions. if necessary, I will make some neutral locations, but that will have to wait until next weekend!
The PRA office in St. Portwell is housed in a massive office building that blends seamlessly into the urban landscape. From the outside, it resembles a typical commercial high-rise, with reflective glass windows, sleek lines, and a modern design that isn't out of place with the city's business district. The PRA office has no signs or anything to indicate its true purpose, helping it maintain a low profile while operating as a base for all PRA activities in St. Portwell and surrounding regions. The building's exterior features a simple gray-and-glass façade with lush landscaping and a small park to help it blend in with surrounding office buildings.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a spacious, sleek lobby with a professional, business-like atmosphere. The reception area is staffed by well-dressed security personnel from the front, a tech company known as Medford Tech Solutions, giving the impression of a regular office building belonging to a just a regular corporation. Security personnel conduct thorough checks but under the guise of routine visitor management. Visitors must sign in at digital kiosks, with most foot traffic consisting of agents posing as office workers.
Behind the scenes, however, the PRA operates with high security and strict clearance protocols. Though the lobby's design suggests a typical technology company, access beyond the front desk is regulated, requiring clearance and biometric checks to get past it. The modern decor and subtle company branding mask the covert operations within, with PRA agents seamlessly blending into the daily activity of the office building.
The upper floors contain a complex network of offices, laboratories, and briefing rooms designed to handle the unique needs of a paranormal investigative agency. A dedicated communications center monitors radio frequencies and internet activity to detect any signs of paranormal disturbances. It also has extensive training facilities, including a large indoor gym and simulated combat environments for agents to practice their skills. There are secure storage areas for sensitive equipment and evidence, a vault where the PRA contains sealed Apparitions and collected artifacts, a dedicated forensics lab to analyze paranormal artifacts, and private rooms for classified briefings.
Christiansands is a nightclub situated in Downtown St. Portwell. The club opens its doors at eight on the dot every day, ensuring the party never skips a beat. Located on a bustling street corner, Christiansands stands out with its modern design, featuring sleek glass panels, neon lights, and a bold sign that shines brightly against the nighttime sky. The club's energy is visible even from a distance, with its thumping bass and rhythmic beats resonating through the streets, drawing crowds from all over.
The line to get into Christiansands is often long, going down the sidewalk as eager patrons wait to enter. On weekends, the line can stretch for blocks, with partygoers chatting it up as they inch closer to the entrance. Even on a quiet Tuesday, the club has no shortage of attendees, a testament to its popularity. The bouncers, dressed in sharp black suits and equipped with earpieces, maintain a tight watch, carefully vetting everyone seeking entry.
But the natural allure of Christiansands lies in its VIP section, and whoever is trying to enter is carefully vetted. The VIP area offers luxurious seating, private bars, and a dedicated DJ, providing a more intimate setting for conversations and business deals. Dollhouse's leadership often holds meetings with other factions and prospective members in this exclusive section, using the club's bustling ambiance as cover for their clandestine activities.
Beyond the bright lights and glamour, Christiansands serves as a front for Dollhouse's darker operations. The club's high-profile status and continuous flow of people make it an ideal meeting spot for covert discussions and exchanges. The staff, carefully picked by Dollhouse's leadership, ensure that the club's true purpose remains hidden from prying eyes. While most patrons come for the music and nightlife, the leaders of Dollhouse and their associates use the club as a hub for planning, strategizing, and recruiting new members.
The Greenwood Coven's "base of operations" is a secluded campsite deep within the dense woods surrounding St. Portwell. The campsite is protected by a natural barrier of foliage, with an inconspicuous path leading to it that only the coven members know. However, as a safety measure, occasionally, the camp is packed up and moved to a different location that is scouted out beforehand.
The heart of the campsite is a large communal area with a central fire pit that serves as the focal point for gatherings, meetings, and rituals (that involve eating ass). Around the fire pit, several weathered logs and handmade benches provide seating for the members of Greenwood, where they party, share stories, and whatnot. Several tents are scattered around the central area, each belonging to different members of the Greenwood Coven. These tents vary in size and style, some simple and practical, while others are adorned with colorful patterns and decorations. Each tent has its personality, reflecting the individuality of the Greenwood Coven.
The 8th Street Manor, perched on a hill overlooking 8th Street in St. Portwell, is a foreboding structure. It was once the home of a wealthy family, but Emily G. Reed and her 8th Street Coven coerced the owners into selling it to her for a mere pittance. The manor's architecture exudes old-world elegance with its traditional stonework, ornate columns, and sweeping front porch. The manor's exterior is timeless, with its wrought-iron gates and manicured lawns extending from the street to the mansion's entrance.
The 8th Street Manor is well maintained inside, as Emily has to bully her Coven into keeping it clean. The floors and hallways are crafted from an elegant dark wood that seems oddly inviting for a place that acts as the base of operations for the 8th Street Coven. Despite it all, it maintains a constant air of sophistication. Emily tries to keep the 8th Street Coven's activities subtle, but not even she can keep her rambunctious Coven in check at times. So, occasionally, explosions, screaming, shouting, and magic can be seen and heard, leading to exciting talks with the police.
The primary meeting room is a gigantic hall by the main entrance with a wooden table that spawns the entire room and ends in Emily's throne, which she took from Kaiser Draeger after his defeat. This hall acts as a hangout, meeting spot, and planning room. However, the 8th Street Manor is large enough to accommodate each member of the 8th Street and still leaves some empty rooms. The minions and underlings have their rooms on the first floor, while 8th Street's leadership have their rooms on the second - and the underlings are not allowed up there unless they have a reason.
Hidden within the 8th Street Manor is a magical vault, which is also hidden behind a random bookcase, and to open the door, all you have to do is pull on a random green book. However, that is not the only security measure installed; behind it is a magical vault with floating runes surrounding it, and to enter, a member has to press the rules in the correct order. If they are not pressed in the proper order, the attempted intruder is launched with a powerful magical force while it sets off an alarm that will blare through the entire manor. If they are pressed in the correct order, the vault opens to reveal a portal into a pocket dimension within the 8th Street Manor, a simple, massive, stone-lined chamber. Here, artifacts are displayed within magically sealed display cases, where 8th Street keeps its most valuable and powerful artifacts. The walls have sturdy shelving units for additional storage, and this is where 8th Street stores the less valuable artifacts. Additionally, the room is protected by a spell that repels teleportation and portal creation, ensuring no one can enter the vault (get rekt Jack).
However, another notable location within the manor is Greta Faust's lab. In stark contrast to the ornate halls of the manor, it has a practical design, with sterile white walls and fluorescent lighting that casts a harsh glow. Greta's lab features sturdy workbenches and cabinets cluttered with glass beakers, test tubes, and various ingredients for her potions. The lab's centerpiece is a large cauldron, which Greta has been using to develop a special "contingency plan" if the Stygian Snake escapes. Along one wall, she keeps her potion locked in a sturdy cabinet, making it abundantly clear to the rest of 8th Street that they are not allowed to touch her potions. A corner of the lab serves as Greta's "personal space," which has a cozy chair, a desk that she typically sleeps on, and a modern laptop in the corner. Note that Greta has her bedroom.
The Wolfpack's clubhouse is a dilapidated two-story building located in the northeast section of St. Portwell. The exterior is a patchwork of crumbling brick, graffiti, and rusted metal, with broken windows partially covered by worn-out plywood. The once-grand entrance has been reduced to a pair of beaten-down double doors adorned with the Wolfpack's spray-painted logo.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by the pungent smell of stale beer, cigarettes, and lousy coochie, an overwhelming assault on the olfactory senses. The main hall, which doubles as a common area, is littered with broken furniture and beer bottles, and the sagging sofas are arranged around a well-worn pool table, which has seen better days. It's common to find members of the Wolfpack lounging here, playing pool, drinking, and swapping stories about their latest exploits.
At the far end of the hall, there's a makeshift bar, where the refrigerator is stocked with cheap beer and other drinks (on a good day, they'll loot a liquor store). Behind the bar, a line of mismatched barstools leans at precarious angles, with some completely missing legs, and you are playing with your life if you sit on them. The back wall features a large mural of a wolf's head, complete with jagged teeth.
Adjacent to the main hall are several smaller rooms where the Wolfpack conducts its business. One room is a meeting area where Dean (previously Judas) plans his next moves. Another room is a crude office where bookkeeping and drug transactions occur, its walls adorned with maps of St. Portwell and marked with areas under the Wolfpack's control. The second floor contains sleeping quarters for those staying overnight at the clubhouse. The conditions are rough, with stained mattresses on the floor, cracked walls, and makeshift curtains for privacy.
Rusty Joe's Auto Repair Shop is a location that appears to be a legitimate business, a simple garage situated on a busy street corner in an industrial district. The shop has a wide garage entrance with several bays for working on cars and motorcycles, and the exterior walls are adorned with graffiti. Inside, the shop has a chaotic but organized feel, with tools, engine parts, and metal scraps strewn across the workbenches. The smell of oil and gasoline stinks while a radio plays rock and metal music in the background. This front operation allows the Wolfpack to maintain a steady cash flow while hiding its more nefarious activities.
Beneath the repair shop's floor lies the heart of the operation: an underground chop shop where stolen vehicles are dismantled. A hidden hydraulic lift in one of the bays leads to this secret area, and it's clear that this is where the Wolfpack strips stolen cars and motorcycles for valuable parts. This area is dimly lit, and the workers here are loyal members of the Wolfpack, always wary of intrusion. The sound of grinding metal and welding is constant, and it's a place where no questions are asked. People disappear when they do.
The Warehouse is a location on the industrial outskirts of St. Portwell, in a largely neglected part of town where the Police are too scared to go. It's a sprawling building with high ceilings and large, roll-up doors designed for trucks to load and unload cargo. The warehouse looks abandoned from the outside, with rusted metal, faded paint, and weeds growing all over. However, security is tight, with members of the Wolfpack patrolling the perimeter at all times and surveillance cameras monitoring all entry points. Inside, the warehouse is divided into sections for different kinds of contraband: drugs, weapons, women, stolen goods, and magical artifacts. Each section is secured with heavy locks and guarded by members of the Wolfpack. Still, only higher-ranking members of the Wolfpack have the key.
Discreet and strategically located throughout St. Portwell, these are typically old apartment buildings or homes in rundown neighborhoods, where police presence is minimal. The exteriors of these safe houses are inconspicuous; inside, the safe houses are designed for covert operations, with hidden compartments to stash weapons and contraband. These locations are hastily put together with torn sofas, barely any food or utensils, and air mattresses with holes. These safe houses hide members on the run, store stolen goods temporarily, or conduct business meetings away from prying eyes. Each safe house has a rotating lookout that keeps an eye out for intruders, whether rival gangs, Feds, or anyone else.
A Once a symbol of wealth and prestige, this sprawling mansion was repurposed into a stronghold of the Das Sonnenrad Cult with Kaiser Draeger, at its heart. Hidden deep in a remote forested area, it was accessible through a single narrow road, allowing easy monitoring and control of who came and entered. Its isolation served as a natural barrier to outsiders, with an imposing black cast-iron gate as another barrier. The mansion's exterior was a stark contrast to its inhabitants, crafted out of stone that had been painted a white color. The inhabitants meticulously maintained the sanctuary's grounds, and there was a rotating schedule for who did the lawn work each day. The front entrance was two massive doors carved with archaic sun symbols.
The mansion's grand foyer featured a sweeping staircase with ornate railings leading to the upper floors, where high-ranking members of Das Sonnenrad lived. A massive crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting an eerie glow across the space. The main hall, often used for meetings and gatherings, had an enormous stone fireplace with intricate carvings that reflected the cult's Aryan mythology. Beneath the mansion lay a labyrinthine basement, which housed the cult's ritual chambers and storage areas for their artifacts. This underground network has a double purpose: to provide secret exits in case the sanctuary is compromised and to confuse intruders with dead ends, fake doors, and passages scattered everywhere.
However, in the final battle against the Das Sonnenrad Cult, which saw Kaiser Draeger's Death, the Sanctuary was burned to the ground.
The Wolf's Den was a secret bunker created by Das Sonnenrad as a hidden refuge for Kaiser Draeger and other high-ranking members of the cult, but now it operates as the headquarters for their successor group: The New Thule Society. Located deep within the remote outskirts of St. Portwell, the bunker is a well-concealed location, requiring a series of directions to follow to the letter. To reach the Wolf's Den, one must first travel down a specific highway until they reach a speed limit sign. From there, it's a matter of venturing into the dense forest and following a trail of Norse=Pagan symbols carved into trees. Following the correct sequence of symbols leads to a bush at the base of a hill, so inconspicuous pretty much anyone would disregard it, but pushing past it reveals a stone passage.
This passageway leads to a large metal door with an access hatch. The interior of the bunker is a long, dimly lit tunnel leading downward. Inside the Wolf's Den, the main chamber is a large, square concrete room with dangling lights and a massive oval-shaped table surrounded by numerous chairs. This room serves as the central meeting area for Das Sonnenrad's remnants, with other smaller rooms branching off from the main chamber, each serving different functions—storage, living quarters, planning areas, etc.
I also organized the NPC on the NPC mega thread for the Temple, House of Cards, and the 317.

THE LOVING-BOND ⫻ This spell group is driven by compassion and represents Kari's bond the people she loves and her ability to connect to them without magic.
A Friend in Need ⫻ A passive spell that grants Kari an intuitive danger sense when her friends or loved ones are in peril.
Kari cannot use any of her other spells while using Observation.
THE LOVING-BOND ⫻ The Emotional Spectrum spell has a limited range of around three meters; anyone outside of it will be out of range. The Friend in Need spell's "warning system" can sometimes trigger false alarms if a loved one is startled or under mild stress.
THE LOVING-BOND ⫻ The Guiding Light is incredibly bright and noticeable, and everyone, friend and foe alike, can perceive it and track down her location. However, the other spells within the Loving Connection have no notable weaknesses or drawbacks.

A very spooky red (very red) casino nestled in the heart of Mirage Springs, it was stated to be the Society's previous headquarters prior to its takeover of the city, according to Kimberly and Jordan. Lupe said there was a big deal going on here… thus, the five were posted up on the rooftops of one of the adjacent buildings. Not any building, a store in which Lupe would say would give them a view of their “VIP entrance.” Or, well, a parking garage that only top Society members and their affiliates would enter. Jordan was, as per usual, on the edge of the building with binoculars.
Meanwhile, Lisa, her back pressed against the parapet, was once again in a reclined position with her hands on her stomach.
“... Your friend better not be lying to us,” Jordan mused out loud.
”We can trust her, I swear,” Lisa turned towards Jordan.
“... Then her ass should have been up here with us,” Jordan shook her head.
”... Then we’d be minus a spy!”
"Yeah! A spy that’s not spying ain’t a spy at all!" Ella said. She was sitting next to Lisa in a similar position, except her fingers were tapping on her legs. "What’s the worst that’ll happen if she lied? We can totally handle it!"
"We’ll just kill her," Saskia nodded, playing with their knife. They crouched next to Jordan, looking over the parapet.
”I mean…” Lisa shrugged as she rolled her eyes. ”If she worked for The Society, we were passed out in her apartment all night…”
"Oh yeah, she had plenty of opportunities to kill us!" Ella said cheerfully. "Though I stayed up till she went to bed too… but she woke up first."
"I wouldn't have minded dying that night," Saskia muttered.
”... I wanna do it again!” Lisa shouted as she hopped to her feet.
“... And pass out again?” Jordan whimsically said as she glanced over her shoulder.
Lisa pouted, crossing her arms. As Jordan laughed, looking into her binoculars.
“Wait! Hold up!” Jordan shouted as she leaned forward a bit.
“What is it?” Kimberly asked.
“A Black SUV, all tinted windows, just went into the secret entrance,” Jordan called out as her eyes didn't come off her face. “... I don't see any other cars.” she shrugged.
“A convoy going through the streets of Mirage Springs would ring a bell,” Kimberly snorted.
A few minutes passed.
“... A white sedan just went in,” Jordan added.
“Are you three ready to go in?” Kimberly asked. “Remember, we are not here to start a fight.”
”Yes!” Lisa said.
Lisa dug into the pockets of her cargo pants and pulled out a tiny metal device that she held high in the air—a tracking device. The plan was to bug the Endless Seven and Dollhouse delegates with Lisa’s spiders and then see what dastardly plans Morningstar was cooking up.
”... Could I still mark them with my infestation spell?” Lisa asked.
“... No,” Jordan answered.
”Aw,”
"I'm ready," Saskia stood up, looking very relaxed about the whole thing.
"Wait!" Ella hopped to her feet. "What do we do if we're spotted?"
"Kill the witnesses."
Kimberly smiled.
“... We run,” She simply answered before she turned to Jordan and nodded her head. “Jordan.” “Right,” Jordan raised both of her hands in the air and they were placed in a swirling coral-pink dome that grew bigger and brighter before they all just appeared on the rooftop. It disoriented Lisa, like teleportation always did. Suddenly they were on one roof, then now they’re on another way taller one! Her heart was spinning as she felt dizzy… she stumbled a few steps.
"Argh," Ella groaned, bending over and looking a bit sick. "I'll never get used to that."
Saskia rolled their eyes, seeming completely unphased. "Let's get to work. What do you need us to do, Lisa?"
Lisa shrugged, before she looked to Kimberly and Jordan for instructions.
“We’re going to stick together, and stay out of sight,” Kimberly said, grabbing the Artistic Integrity with both hands, as she glanced at the doors. “This is the VIP section of the casino. There shouldn’t be a whole lot of foot traffic - which works against us.” Kimberly shook her head.
“There is a large dining room that they do their meetings in,” Kimberly said. “We’re gonna plant the bugs on them there… you three are there in case we run into trouble.”
“But, you know I can just teleport us out,” Jordan crossed her arms, rolling her eyes.
“Yeah, I know,” Kimberly said, rolling her eyes as well. “Let’s just get a move on.”
She then pointed at the door to the roof, which definitely should not be unlocked. Jordan walked over to it, then put her hand on it… Lisa looked on as she heard a series of slides and clicks before she pushed the door open. She gestured towards it…
“... Ladies,” Jordan grinned.
“Why thank you?” Kimberly laughed as she walked in, and Lisa followed after them… Saskia and Ella were right behind them, and Jordan was in the back. As they were led through the halls like a bunch of ducks, Lisa briefly wondered how much recon the two got before they got here. Because they certainly didn’t tell them anything. Though, it didn’t matter, as it seemed Kimberly and Jordan had their best interests at heart. Maybe. This part of the Devil’s Fortune wasn’t a casino, but a hotel… and it was oddly barren. Lisa couldn’t even hear anyone, but she never really been in hotels so she wouldn’t know!
Eventually, Kimberly lead them to an incredible ornate dining room. It was something out of the movies! However, they were on the upper balconies, looking down, and the room was completely empty.
“Alright,” Kimberly looked between everyone present. “Are we clear on what we’re here for? We’re not going to jump the gun, right?”
"Yup! We’re the backup for if shit goes wrong, while you guys are planting bugs on em! I think!" Ella said cheerfully, brandishing her channeler. "Or wait… are Lisa’s spiders planting the bugs?"
"I’ll stop her doing anything stupid," Saskia said, surveying the room over the balcony’s banister. They crouched down, narrowing their eyes as they watched for anyone entering.
The door on one side opened… and two gigantic Werewolves in knight's armor came through. They had to be over ten feet tall and carried massive swords over their shoulders as they walked over to the corners of the dining room on one side, patiently taking guard. When they walked in, Lisa activated her eyes of the Arachnid Spell… a spell that made her grow extra eyes on her temple, forehead, and cheeks and gave her a full view of the room. Following behind them, four people walked in… the first to come through was a tall man (Like had to be around seven feet tall) in a suit, and he calmly walked over and sat at the head of the table.
”Weird…” Lisa whispered out loud. ”Are they the Endless Seven or somebody else?”
"Wouldn’t really be the Endless Seven if there were ten of them…" Saskia whispered back. "One must be Mala’Boolaan’s replacement."
"I bet it’s the really tall one!" Ella said in a hushed tone.
"... I think it’s the other woman."
“To my knowledge,” Kimberly whispered. “The Endless Seven have some way to assume human form. Either by abscision or some other form of magic… have you ever heard of Glamour?”
"Oh, like fair folk use?" Saskia tilted their head. "In folklore."
“Yes, sort of… It’s a popular form of magic that lets Abominable, Afflicted, and other Paranormals with inhuman features appear normal and blend in with humans,” Kimberly began. “There are many forms of it and many ways to apply it… and knowing the Society, getting Glamour would be easy.”
“Hey, the door’s opening!” Jordan silently pipped up.
The man with the bun and the woman with the gun took a seat while the mannequin doll remained standing. The older man and the strange woman stood in the corners of the room, much like the werewolf knights.
”... And they’re Dollhouse?” Lisa asked Kimberly and Jordan. ”The old guy is kinda hot!” She laughed.
"Lisa, your taste sucks," Ella scrunched up her nose.
“Stay focused,” Jordan whispered. “... And I think so,”
“That’s Luis, Natalie, and Heinrich,” Kimberly said, “I dealt with them before when I was in Miami…”
Both Kimberly and Jordan shuddered.
“... They are not to be messed with,” Kimberly said, “But, we’ll deal with them when we’re stronger.”
"So we just watch?" Saskia asked, eyes narrowed.
"How are we going to bug them?!" Ella tilted her head.
Kimberly turned her head towards Lisa and whispered to her, “Lisa, are you ready?”
Lisa nodded, as she summoned some tiny spiders from behind the five, and while they were wrapped in glowing cocoons, she dug into her pockets for tiny listening devices. The spiders burst out with ant mandibles, and she placed them in their tiny maws. They carried them down the walls…
“Worry about those four,” Kimberly pointed at the four that the group believed were the Endless Seven… “Place one on the table and try to slip one in the pockets.”
”Mhm…” Lisa trailed off, as she did as instructed and ordered the spiders to plant the bugs around the table. They used their webs to attach them to the table before sliding the listening devices into the shoes of the Endless Seven…
… The strange woman that was with Dollhouse turned her head to the five, and Lisa’s eyes widened.
”... I think we’ve been spotted!” Lisa said in a normal volume.
The woman pointed at them and shouted,
”... We got intruders!”
Everyone turned their heads towards their spot on the balcony, and Lisa hopped to her feet.
”... SHIT!”
“Jordan!” Kimberly shouted as she pulled out Jacob’s Revolver, “Time to go!”
The older man disappeared, leaving behind a burst of wind. He appeared down the balcony, and Lisa only had seconds to respond before he disappeared again. In the blink of an eye, Lisa was sent rolling down the hall, feeling Shayton’s hand slam against her chest. She could hardly breathe as she gasped for air. When she came to a stop, she looked up to see Shayton in between her and the girls.
"Lisa!" Ella yelled, brandishing her channeller and… starting to go through her magical girl transformation.
"Shit," Saskia scrambled to their feet, slicing their hand wide open. Blood spilled out, forming a bullet that they aimed and shot toward Shayton.
Shayton looked over his shoulder at them, before disappearing in a burst of speed again… and Lisa could feel herself get yanked as she was thrown in the trajectory of Saskia’s attack at blinding speeds. The bullet dug into Lisa’s shoulder and she screamed in pain. Saskia paled, eyes widening in panic.
“Jordan!” Kimberly aimed the revolver at Shayton.
“Working on-” Jordan was cut off as a bladed tendril made out of human flesh came out of the strange woman’s hand and wrapped around her ankle. It snatched her away as Jordan raised her hands and a coral-pink sphere appeared… and all time was slowed within it. Including the tendril coming out of the black woman’s hand.
"Back off!" Ella shouted, now in her magical girl form. She held up her wand, a burning beam of light shooting out of it and towards the tendril where it wasn’t in the coral-pink sphere. The beam burned through the tendril, and the woman’s expression didn’t change slightly.
At the same time, Saskia’s blood pooled towards her back and formed a long tendril. They ran forward, sending it out in an attempt to wrap around Lisa and pull her towards them. It grasped Lisa’s leg, and yanked her towards them as she flipped off Shayton with both hands, quicking waving them around wildly… though, it hurt.
Shayton disappeared in a burst of wind and appeared on the other side of Kimberly… with Jacob’s Revolver in hand. He examined it and said,
“Hmmmm… interesting design…” Shayton felt it getting telekinetically yanked from his hands as it flew right back into Kimberly’s hands.
“Thank you, Jordan!” Kimberly aimed Jacob’s Revolver back at Shayton. However, the two werewolf knights ran up and slammed their swords on the ground as they growled and barked at them. The mysterious lady had made another bladed tendril and attached it to the banister and propelled herself forward.
From between the two knights, walked the man in the suit with the blonde hair… he had a smile on his face as he clapped his hands together, “... I remember you three,” He began. “By some miracle and failure of all logic, you made it this far…”
He laughed.
“... But your luck, ends here.”
Ella turned around to look at him, head tilted in confusion. "Who are you?"
“Ignatius,” He introduced himself. “We met at the bank. Except I looked… different.”
"Ohhhhh!" Ella clapped her hands together (awkwardly because of the wand). "The one who sent those weaklings after us!"
“And thank you for getting rid of them,” Ignatius folded his hands behind his back as he looked at the two werewolf knights. “However, Morningstar has ordered your deaths…”
He pointed at them, and the rabid Werewolf knights lunged at the group.
“... So, just die fast, we have business to attend to, morons.” Ignatius adjusted his suit
"It'll take more than this to kill me!" Ella shouted, as her legs lit up with a shimmering, prismatic light. She jumped forward, swinging one leg up to intercept and kick one of the Knights. He raised his sword to block the attack and slid backward towards Ignatius.
Saskia rolled their eyes behind her, tendril letting go of Lisa as it shot towards the other knight, and pierced through its face, cleaving through it cleanly. He stopped, grabbing his face, and a sizzling steam came out as he regenerated.
Lisa flipped over, as spider legs burst from her back… she was still bleeding, but she was still going to fight. It was time to whip out a tool in her arsenal that the Old Coven found disgusting. She loudly wretched, as she opened her mouth like some kind of unholy maw, and a spray of spiders came out her mouth and went towards the knight that Saskia had injured. It covered its body, as Lisa willed them to force their way into its regenerating wounds… then they healed over, as Lisa activated Acid-Burst and the acid exploded out of the knight’s head as it fell to its knees.
It hit the ground with a thump, as Kimberly shouted, “EVERYONE! BUNCH UP!”
Lisa turned on her heel and ran over to Kimberly and Jordan. A coral-pink dome appeared around them, slowly beginning to spin, and then quickly accelerating. Saskia ran into the dome, blood tendril sucking back into the wound in her hand.
Ella was the furthest away. She was mid another kick towards the remaining Knight, forcefully stopping her momentum and spinning around on one foot. She started running over towards the dome….
However, in a burst of speed, Shayton grabbed her and threw her over the banister onto the table.
”... ELLA!” Lisa shouted, extending a hand out to her friend.
The story begins with the very first meeting hosted by Auri Auclair in her flower shop about the leads on Father Wolf, where After being pressed, she brings up the first lead: The Wolfpack. The Wolfpack's leader, Judas Bennet, uses Father Wolf as an alias and Auri thinks the Coven should investigate the Wolfpack further. Then explained that the Wolfpack hung out at a strip club named Veni Vedi Veni, and Judas' favorite stripper was a girl named Violet. However, Kali Mahendra came in, and flashed a badge explaining that he was a member of the FBI and they've come to help - making Alizée Altieri flee and head straight to the strip club. Auri pulled him into a side room to talk to him personally and he explained his reasoning for being so direct and managed to convince Auri to hear him out and speak to the group. While this went on Jack Hawthorne teleported into the room and was met with an electric sword from Drake Blackmore, and they are broken up by Simone Le Fay.
Everleigh Thorn wanders in, asking for a healer and makes small talk with Greyson "Edict" Devola before "Sully" McPherson heals her using the Chalice. Kali comes out and makes his plea to the rest of the Coven. However, he is met with mixed results, but ultimately, the Coven agrees to keep him.
Meanwhile, Alizée, at Veni Vedi Veni, confronts a bartender sitting next to a red-haired woman and begins questioning the Bartender on Violet. After the bartender dodges the questions, Violet comes on stage, and after Alizée threatens Violet, the bartender calls for security to remove Alizée. Alizée then decides to walk out with the red-haired woman, who turns out to be Jessica Rosefey - the Summer Maiden of the Greenwood Coven - who were posted outside in an attempt to ambush Judas. Several members of the Greenwood Coven see this and confront Alizée, but Leon Richoux comes to her side asking for an explanation from both sides. The Greenwood Coven jumps and battles Alizée in an attempt to free Jessica.
While this is going on Clancy Patrick attacks, interrogates and ultimately kills a member of the Wolfpack named Skinner Joe. He then wanders into the fight and that was enough to convince Alizée to release Jessica.
After working up the courage to enter, Britney Williams enters the meeting and is informed of the plan so far (which was to head to a strip club). However, Britney's appearance causes Edict to attempt to prod at everyone with his Pink-Lux and get thoroughly dunked before leaving in tears - Linqian Han follows behind him and they have a brief chat where she becomes his employee.Stormy Carson entered the Flower Shop and immediately threatened Britney for her past actions. However he is talked down by Auri and Sully, and the Coven splits up into two groups from there: One group of Drake, Sloane, Kali, Simone, and Luca Oliviera go to Dairy Queen (With Jack joining in), while another group of Sully, Britney, Everleigh, and Stormy head to Veni Vedi Veni.
At Dairy Queen, Sloane openly voices her disdain for Auri and her lack of confidence in her leadership, to which Kali agrees, but Drake defends Auri. The conversation shifts to Father Wolf where several theories for Father Wolf are thrown around. However, the entire tone of the conversation changes when Sloane asks Drake why he wasn't there to defend Jade, and Drake flies off the handle and punches Sloane in the face (Hurting Luca in the process). Feeling guilt, Drake leaves, and Jack leaves with Sloane as Lynn and Lila witness the whole thing and have a brief talk with Luca before they are confronted by former members of Sycamore - now 8th Street - Greta Faust, George Nelson, and Carol Doyle, who attempt to recruit the three into 8th Street before leaving.
At the strip club, the trio comes to the aftermath of the fight between Greenwood and Alizée, and Sully helps heal Jessica as Britney asks what happened. After some accusations were thrown, Alizée snapped and attempted to attack Stormy and Naomi (of the Greenwood Coven) - and Sully gets in the way of the attack. Bianca Manalo, who witnessed the whole thing, takes some pictures and sends them up to the PRA before she is confronted by Eve and ultimately attacked by her. A gunshot interrupts the whole shebang.
The Wolfpack arrived, telling everyone to stay put and wanting blood for Joe Skinner's death. However, Clancy wanders into Magnolia's view and she deduces that there is something up with him and shoots him dead on the spot - which triggers a huge fight between the Wolfpack, Greenwood Coven, and the few members of the Sycamore Tree present. Stormy erects a massive barrier, but he is swapped places with Sully, and Elodie captures him while Valjean is thrashed by Greenwood and Sycamore. Leon transforms into a werewolf, grabs Alizée, and attempts to flee before Alizée breaks free and breaks Elodie's hand - who launches Sully and turns her attention to Alizée, and a brief scrap ensues between Cyril, Elodie, and Alizée and the Void Heart.
Sully is accosted by Dean Walker, who asks for Tayla, and Wolfpack reinforcements appear, but they are killed by Clancy, and one lands by Dean and Sully, which gives Sully and the two Covens an opportunity to free Sully. At this point, Kashmira activated a massive healing field, and Elodie had the Void Heart pinned. However, Alizée went out to save the Void Heart, only to get shot dead by Cyril Noctis - who is taken to the Void by an enraged Void Heart.
Judas Bennet arrived with the Curs, as Britney, Eve, Linqian, and Leon leave with Alizée's body, and head to the Temple - where Leon asks what happened at the Britney and she gave a loose answer as the Temple take over Alizée's funeral services. After a conversation, Britney flees the Temple with her friends in tow. The Greenwood Coven teleported back home with Sully, while the PRA arrived to fight Judas while the rest of the Wolfpack escape. After a lengthy fight, Maximilian Cornell arrived and defeated Judas for the PRA. However, before he can detain Judas, Clancy captures Judas and interrogates him - and Judas is swiftly killed by Shayton.
Meanwhile, the Void Heart goes to his next host Layla Hyacinthus, and they call Auri, threatening her position as leader. Afterwards, Auri calls Britney who suggests that they seal the Void Heart, as Britney goes to meet Lila and Lynn about sealing her own Apparition. After a drunken night of debauchery, they seal the Crow Priestess(?).
The next day, the Void Heart meets with Jack about taking his side against Auri before the next meeting. At the meeting, Auri announces the deaths of Simone, Finn Reid, and Eksa Thresh, and the meeting spirals from there. Notably, Adora Phoenix-Prescott confronts Sloane about the location of her Trinity Rings, and Sloane begrudgingly admits that all the artifacts in her collection were stolen. Adora is talked down by Anya Baksh, before Auri snaps and then leads the group to their lair: an abandoned church. Auri, Stormy, and Britney disappear, as Layla attempts to rally the group to overthrow Auri before she is taken to the Void by Jack. The group chats for a moment before they are attacked by the PRA, who are out for blood for Bianca's attack last night. They are teargassed, handcuffed, and taken outside, where it is announced that Kali has been murdered last name and Meifeng Liao believes they are responsible for it all.
In the Shadowzone, Jack's personal realm in the Void, Layla and the Void Heart are ambushed by Auri, Stormy, and Britney. They manage to pin the Void Heart and Layla, but the Temple sent two of their agents: Furio and Clarissa, to intervene. After a messy confrontation where Jack is shot, and Auri is knocked out, the Void Heart surrenders and agrees to be sealed by the Temple. Britney and Stormy accompany Layla and the Temple to the sealing process, where the being's reign of terror is ended for good. Meanwhile, Jack teleports Auri back to the church...
Back at the church, Meifeng is eventually talked down by Cindy Keagan and Maximilian Cornell and releases the Coven. As a gesture of good grace, the PRA heals their injured members before they take Eve and leave the Coven to their business. However, Auri, Adora, and "Lyss" Burns summon the spirits of Ashley Stone, Lionel Hunter, and Kari Wilson, and discover that their Kari has been mysteriously switched with another one.
Meanwhile, 8th Street is searching the aftermath of a battle that took place in the woods for the Apparition Killer. They are confronted by Lynette Domínguez, who asks Jacqueline for help in dealing with Father Wolf. However, she declines help, and 8th Street searches the woods until they meet again later on that night and attack the mansion of a family that aspires to join the Elite, the Pendleton Family. 8th Street robs and brutalizes the family, coming close to killing them before Jacqueline and Miranda stop it. 8th Street leaves with the family's collection of artifacts, and the next day they reap the spoils.
One of the spoils is a rainbow-colored potion, and Maya and Phoebe take the potion to pour it into the water supply. While this goes on, Babylon the Great explains the story of Sunshine Jones and her Inner Circle before Meifeng confronts Emily about Eve attacking Bianca. Emily throws Eve and the Coven under the bus, and Meifeng leaves 8th Street to their business.
However, Maya and Phoebe go to the water treatment plant to pour the potion in, and instead of gaying the water, it creates a Gay Monster. Which chases them back to the 8th Street Mansion and proceeds to gay the entire 8th Street Coven (Except Carol). After they're done getting brutally gayed, Amy Nakamura comes out of hiding and finds Violet and Pink, and then finds a way into the 8th Street Coven.
After Judas' death, Shayton meets with Magnolia to discuss the state of things, then meets with Dean Walker. Shayton tells him the deal Judas made with Dollhouse: in exchange for Abstractions, the Wolfpack operates as the muscle for Dollhouse. He also tells Dean that he wants him to be the successor to Judas, which Dean accepts, and then assumes control of the Wolfpack.
Conrad, after Judas's death, goes to find the remnants of Das Sonnenrad: The New Thule Society. Conrad meets with Berlioz, who convinces him and his men to join the New Thule Society as Blake Schmidt has offered them a million-dollar deal: work for them.
The chapter begins with a Recollection of the past, a collective dream that they had about Sunshine Jones, leader of the infamous Inner-Circle Cult, who was banished to the Pit. However, the Recollection then switches perspectives to Raven Jones, who gets chased through the Pit, meets with a mysterious figure known as the Mother Will, and then is sent to a Temple where she finds Sully's Chalice. The Recollection left many confused; however, the Halloween Festival was today, and thus, many filled into Cracker Island, including the PRA, and the 8th Street and Greenwood Covens.
Noticing Emily in a ridiculous costume with her sisters, Lila and Lynn invite her for a chat, but things take a turn when Emily goes too far and then gets punched by Lila. Luca, Jasper, and Stormy enter the fray as Emily attempts to manipulate Luca, only to allow the rot to take over, but the Rot is dispelled by Stormy, and Emily is shooed off by the PRA. Stormy then takes the group of the present members of Sycamore and the PRA to a nearby bar to talk about what happened and manages to make peace between the two factions.
Meanwhile, a group of Britney, Layla, and Sabrina Vanburen are confronted by Vashti Nour of the 8th Street Coven, who wants Britney's head. However, they are backed up by Edict and Linqian, who manage to scare Vashti off, and after some irrelevant BS, they all decide to leave Cracker Island and head to Sabrina's place. A party ensues, however, Edict tells Britney that the House of Cards Mafia plans on killing her for her hand in Void's sealing.
To a different group: The Greenwood Coven teleports there after having a discussion on whether or not Cat Ears over regular clothes counts as a costume. Sully and Greenwood meet with the Blackmore family, and things degenerate from there as a massive conga line is formed, which eventually drags in the Greenwood Covens and, surprisingly, Emily and Vashti.
However, in the Toga party, Emily is passed the Chalice and decides to simply walk off with it. That is when she is confronted by Kenshiro, and a fight ensues that drags in Vashti, Leon, and Drake, and ultimately is interrupted by the PRA. Meanwhile, Naomi of the Greenwood Coven snatches the Chalice from Emily and is confronted by Jack before the rest of Greenwood interferes, and eventually, the two buff things out as Greenwood goes to return the Chalice to Sully.
The Halloween Festival goes on, as Greenwood and 8th Street leave Cracker Island.
A few days later, the group has another Recollection of Raven while they were asleep. In this Recollection, Raven is attacked by a strange creature that sprays a strange ooze on her before it leaves. Raven wanders the halls of the strange temple until she finds a book known as Walter's Book, and finds an exit. Afterward, Raven is confronted by strange mechanical golems known as Autoknights, which are destroyed by Sunshine, who saves her. However, Raven passes out, and Sunshine is forced to remove strange snake beings from underneath her skin as Mother Will looks on.
Auri assembles the group at Kari Wilson's house and explains her findings with Lyss - then announces her death. During a moment of silence, Sloane knocks down the front door, and after some bickering the group pushes on inside. However, Luna is spying on the group, but Tayla notices her, and Drake confronts Luna at halberd-point, demanding information on who Luna is working for.
Kenshiro leads the group to the basement, and then to a pocket dimension he made where Kari kept her sentimental items. It then turns out that her notes are missing, and Ken has a breakdown.
Now, I probably missed a few things but I was trying not to describe every little tiny thing but here are the major things.
”Because I do realise how fucking serious this is. I want to find the bastard that killed Jinhai but I also don’t want my younger brother to lose the only family he has left. I’m not as fucking stupid as you think I am. I’ll work my fucking ass off to figure this shit out.”
”... I don't think you're stupid.”
A lie that Britney told Linqian, thankful that she decided to back down when pressed on the subject. It would be stupid to believe a word out of a crazy woman's mouth! Especially one that was about to turn the Halloween Festival into a battleground (and from what she heard, a fight did break out there). However, Britney just shook her head; Linqian pressed the group to head into the basement already where this secret vault was, and Britney couldn't help but agree. She wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as possible before either the PRA showed up or the House of Cards or 8th Street - at least the PRA could be reasoned with to some limited capacity.
"I'll keep watch up here," Auri said with a nod of her head, holding the Butterfly Staff firmly against the ground with one hand.
As instructed, Kenshiro led the group to Kari's basement, which was dusty and full of spiderwebs. The dust had taken over the place because it had not been maintained since Kari's death. Britney loudly sneezed and then chuckled.
”Bless you,” Adora said, as she walked down the stairs with her arms crossed.
”... Thank you, it's just a little dusty down here.” Britney replied.
However, Kenshiro led them to an... elevator door? It was painted over, and rickety. Britney laughed as it was obvious some time of magic was responsible for this.
"I don't suspect the Murasaki's ancient technique of Dark Drops to have been compromised by our enemies... But that doesn't mean I wouldn't recommend being on guard when I open this. My intuitions aren't what they used to be..."
Britney watched on as Kenshiro pulled out a coin and activated the spell... she watched in awe as Kanji symbols scrawled their way across the walls as the door split open to reveal this pocket dimension. Kenshiro was definitely a talented Adept, and she wished that he had returned sooner! They could have used him in sealing the Void Heart, and maybe things would have gone a lot smoother. Britney was one of the few inside, and then she looked around, glancing at the various items that Kari held dear and wanted to keep hidden from the world of the Blind. It would definitely raise a few alarms if she had guests over and they stumbled into here!
”Brit...” Adora said, and Britney turned her head towards Adora. She was holding a peculiar picture with one hand, and a fist to her mouth in the other. In concern, Britney walked over and asked,
”What's wrong-” Britney began, before she looked down at the picture and went. ”... Oh.”
It was obviously an artwork piece that Kari had either drawn or commissioned (Britney couldn't remember if Kari could draw or not) of herself, Ella Brooks, Saskia Otten, and Lisa Turner. Not just any picture, but of the four of them dressed up as "Magical Girls" straight out of an anime... If Britney recalled correctly, Kari was really close to Ella, Saskia, and Lisa in the Old Coven, and she took their respective deaths really hard.
”I... need a moment...” Adora exhaled, sitting down in the corner. Taking deep breaths, as she silently counted in the corner. Britney put the picture back and watched over Adora, as another person had a breakdown...
"No... No! NO!-"
Britney whipped her head over to Kenshiro.
"-Her notes! Her notebooks! None of them are here, and the seal wasn't tampered with, there were no breaks in the scripture: Nothing! And her... Her fucking books aren't - there... The books weren't fucking in there..."
"Fuck!"
So, Kari's notes, which probably were the key to all of this, were all missing. Unfortunate. It was enough to make Kenshiro break down further—he obviously had feelings for Kari and the fact that her notes, her prize possession, were gone. Britney sighed, as it turned out they had accomplished nothing yet again, as they still had no idea who Father Wolf was, where he went, or if Kari even had anything to do with it all (Despite the fact that Britney believed that Kari has something to do with it, she was going to keep her mind open). Amara tried to reassure him, and so did Aislin (Layla didn't help much at all), but the two of them were latching onto the idea that Father Wolf was responsible.
Britney walked over and squatted down, picking up the coins and forming a neat stack in the palm of her hands. She got up and presented them back to Ken.
”Look, Ken,” Britney began. ”I know things look rough right now, but we have to remain positive. We have to remain hopeful. I'm not latching onto the idea that Father Wolf is the one who is responsible, but we need to keep it together. I know you had feelings for Kari, but if we fall apart now, it's over. If there's a will, there's a way, and there has to be something here that will give us a clue on what happened to Kari.”
Or what Kari did. Britney internally added that she's keeping her suspicion that Kari is either working for or is Father Wolf to herself. Now wouldn't be the best time to voice it anyway.
“I'll share the same idea that I did with Aislin. Lionel knew something. We can trash his place too.”
Britney winced, pausing for a moment before she answered.
”One, we're not trashing anyone's place,” Britney began. ”And two, Lionel ran his own paranormal investigation agency with an office and everything! I know he was investigating the murders before he was...”
Britney then coughed.
”But, let's give the entire house a good sweep... That Recollection tells me that somebody is trying to tell us something. And I'm hoping it doesn't end with us barking up 8th Street's tree...”
“I'm just trying to help you. Do you know how daunting it is to even try showing my face around those I've respected and missed for ten years?! I was building up my courage to face you. I never meant anything malicious by spying! I even offered to make it up to you, and you don't believe me? That's not fair! You're not even giving me a chance!”
Thankfully, Drake wasn't Auri.
Drake didn't believe in the power of butterflies or friendship or anything else. He was stern, unmoving, and stubborn, and this was likely one of the few times he needed to be. He rolled his eyes as Luna lamely tried tapdancing around Drake's question and more lame-ass attempts to manipulate him. Drake had a question. And one question alone.
”You want to try and make amends now that you got caught, sweetheart. I'm looking at the facts here: You were following us for a reason. Don't try and dodge the question!” Drake shook his head. Still keeping the Halbred level with Luna's face. ”You want to make amends so badly? Stop bullshitting and tell me who you are working for! I'm starting to think you got something to do with that Wolf Bastard...”
He narrowed his eyes.
”... Whatever you’re about to do, I’d suggest thinking heavily on your options. You aren’t welcome around here, Tsukino.” We have no interest in dealing with your mafia.”
Stormy's voice boomed from below, Drake almost instinctually turned his head towards Stormy, but he stopped himself. He had to keep his eyes on this snake. This bitch was definitely going to try something if Drake didn't keep his eye on her - he didn't even feel comfortable blinking! Though, he felt confident with Stormy backing him up, he wasn't too good on these high mobility confrontations that Drake excelled in... and if Drake recalled correctly, Luna could fly.
Wonder if she could outrun lightning now.
“Fuzakeruna. (Don't mess with me.) You're the one who destroyed your own covenmate - don't talk to me about being ‘welcome’. Have you even tried talking to Layla again? Yeah, I know everything. I know how you tortured her and made her want to kill herself to make the pain stop. You can paint me as the villain all you want, but I see through your bullshit, kusogaki. (Unpleasant brat.)” Maybe I should really teach you how to be someone's friend, huh?”
"If you know about that business," he started. "Then you understand that instigating anything against us means entangling yourself in things that aren't worth your time or energy. Maybe you should stop and ask yourself if you want that. We have enough to worry about as it is, you have a poor reputation in this coven. If you start this, neither of us will be responsible for what the rest of the coven decides they want to do with you."
This. Is. Going. FUCKING. Nowhere. Drake internally seethed as Luna and Stormy went back and forth. If his hands weren't occupied being the spear and shield at the same time, he would had facepalmed by the idiocy of this all. It was obvious that Luna didn't have any plan in case she got caught by the Coven... Maybe her boss should have sent someone else. There was that tiny part of him that wondered if Luna was even with Father Wolf - he seemed very competent and Luna, so far... was not. This was a waste of time, and Luna was obviously stalling for backup.
Luna knew something. And she obviously wasn't going to tell them.
Well, that just means it's time to play hard ball.
"... But if you back down, I'm sure we can do this without violence."
”Sorry, Stormy...” Drake said to Stormy, as the spear that he had disappeared as he cocked his hand back behind him. He quickly created his Electric Flail, a lengthy chain with a mace, and swung it at Luna's leg. However, he overshot it a bit as he aimed for her leg and intended for the chain to wrap around her and electrocute the fuck out of her. Hopefully, it would just stun her as intended, and not kill her.
”... IF SHE FALLS, CATCH HER!” Drake shouted at Stormy.
