The escape pod let out long drawn out creaks as it began to enter the planet's atmosphere, shaking violently as the re-entry heat began to cover the viewport in an orange glow. Upon passing through the clouds the survivors could see what appeared to be an abandoned mining colony to the east, a large drill beam located at its colony center. To the north stood what appeared to be a tall obelisk structure, quite possibly an ancient ruin but from their point of view it looked to be offline as the iconic glowing trim could not be seen on the structure. After reaching the appropriate altitude, the pod's retrograde thrusters activated, slowing them down before landing on the planet's surface with a harsh thud. Without a moment's hesitation, Irisa put on her helmet and grabbed her rifle before addressing the group. "Helmet's on quick, we need to get out of this pod before that fuel leak ignites", removing the AI chip from the pod terminal the Qari inserted it into her helmet's port. With a flash the AI's projection appeared on her display, "Hello ma'am, would you like me to sync my programming to the rest of your group?"

"Yes, and what is your designation", having to refer to it as AI would become an annoyance.

"I am a fourth generation Bowman Ind. Artificial Intelligence, my records indicate that I was named 'Feynman' by my previous operators. Ma'am, I have synced my systems to your companions and would like to advise we exit the pod immediately", an update of the pod's systems showed that the remaining fuel leaked into the pod and was dangerously close to igniting.

"Alright everyone, we're heading out", Irisa checked one last time to ensure everyone's helmets were on before opening the hatch. The sun was bright here and the low gravity intensified her movements. Once outside the pod, her helmet's display threw a grid overlay on the surrounding terrain. Feynman's voice soon followed, "Ma'am I have scanned the planet and there appears to be a mining colony a few miles east of where we are. North of our location is a structure commonly referred to as an 'ancient ruin'. While both locations are uninhabited, It would be in your best interest to head towards the mining colony as a sandstorm is approaching from the northwest"

"Very well, and have you performed a scan of the planet's lifeforms?", they had shelter, they needed to know what to prepare against.

"Of course, bringing it on-screen now", in an instant there were files detailing the kind of flora and fauna on the planet.

"Why is the file on the apex predator not present?", a look of concern and slight frustration came over the Qari as she attempted to reopen the file in case there was an error.

"Apologies ma'am, but there is such a low population of this species and they are mostly subterranean. I will perform periodical scans in case a specimen surfaces"

"Do that, we need to know what its capable of...of course its subterranean", the thought that at any moment whatever this thing was could just erupt from the ground beneath them did not sit will with her. It was bad enough the planet was scarce in resources but having the constant threat of a surprise attack only added to her list of concerns.

"By the way ma'am, what is your name? Or would you prefer I continue to address you as 'Ma'am'?"

"Just Irisara will do fine. How long do we have before we reach the colony?"

"About two hours"

"And how long until the storm reaches us?"

"Three hours"

"Then we need to get moving", turning her attention to the rest of the survivors she waved for them to follow as she began walking towards the colony. With rifle in hand she kept a firm grip on it as she frequently eyed the surrounding ground. As for Feynman, it continued on to have introductions with the rest of the group. The way to the colony had rocky hills and arid soil scattered between sand dunes as the sky grew an orange brown hue from the encroaching storm. By the time the group arrived, they could see the last bit of the ancient ruin being swallowed by the sands. "Once inside we need to get the power on, the colony's life support system will come on as well as its communication systems", Irisa's voice came through the comm-link slightly scrambled due to the approaching storm. The wind began to pick up, and with it the threat of being carried away should they hang outside for too long. Finally reaching the main entrance, the hatch was wide open yet there was no sign of damage to structure integrity. Irisa hurried inside, waiting for everyone to follow in before continuing further into the facility. The only light came from the viewports that were fading fast as the storm approached but from what could be seen there was what looked to be scratch marks on the walls that were visible. Turning on her helmet light she was greeted by the sight of blood stains on the floor as well as filled body bags. Suddenly, Irisa no longer felt the need to remove her helmet. "Stay alert, we may not be alone here. Feynman, scan for a layout of the colony", Irisa's eyes darted across the room, looking for signs of a present lifeform. After a brief moment of silence, the colony's layout was brought up on her helmet.

"Ma'am the scan also indicated that there is presently only one lifeform in this station. I've marked its location on everyone's map, it is located in the cryo chamber"

"A survivor maybe? Gaz, Odd, go check it out. Stay on comms and update me on what you find. The rest of you are to search the station, we need to clear the facility and get the power back on. Look for something that can tell us what happened here", Irisa didn't wait for any objections, they could either do their job or sit there and let her take care of it. Her first stop was the med bay, hopefully there were medical supplies she could scavenge. The Loading Bay contained everything that would come on and off the colony including food, supplies, weaponry, etc. There was also a good chance that a land vehicle, if not a ship, was docked there. The Living Quarters would probably only contain clothes or personal items of the previous inhabitants but it was worth a look. As for the showers, it would probably be useless to search. The two priority rooms were the comm center and the power core. with those two online, their chances of escaping this world would dramatically increase.

The Red Light District...

A long line had formed outside of The Rose Garden, a typical sight for the club on nights like this. Nights when it feels like you have to let go of your inhibitions, your responsibilities, and just treat yourself. The main floor of The Rose Garden houses the modern nightclub scene; neon trim, modern design, loud EDM music, the kind of atmosphere that attracted the youth. Beneath the electronic beats and neon was the classic speakeasy style club. A jazz band accompanied by a live singer provided a vintage feel as businessmen and women of the underworld gathered to enjoy the night or forge deals. This VIP section was accessible only by knowing the password given only to those trusted by the Madam Vona herself. Individuals she deemed unlikely to cause a fuss in her domain. As for Vona herself, her office overlooked the jazz club from a large circular window. Her office was designed much like the basement level but it also doubled as a small apartment should she need to stay there for whatever reason. The office desk was placed across from the window, allowing the Black Rose boss to oversee the merryment of her customers below while also allowing her to spot any incoming threats. Two guards stood outside her door with her main bodyguard, a dark elf named Seleris sat across the desk from his boss who was carefully looking her reports from each of her lieutenants.

"Sel, could you please make me a White Russian?", Tarvona didn't even look up from the reports on her desk as she spoke. Seleris didn't hesitate to get up from his chair and walk over to the bar. "Just one, boss?", Seleris asked as he collected the ingredients. Tarvona let out a short chuckle as she finally looked up from her work, "You know me so well, Sel. Unfortunately it'll be just one for me right now, thank you dear." Seleris brought the finished product and rested it beside her before returning to his seat. "It seems this may have been our most uneventful month this year, aside from the inevitable brawl upstairs there hasn't been many problems in our area", closing the file before taking a sip of her drink she looked to the window for a brief moment before turning back to Seleris. "Jaani is here, open the door for her", before she even finished her sentence Seleris was headed towards the door. Opening it revealed a young dark elf girl, charcoal grey in color with red hair holding a smartphone in her hand.

"Ma, some Steel Lances got taken out downtown", holding up her phone to show pictures of the scene. Bodies were strewn about the room with the floor painted blood red. It was not an unfamiliar sight to Vona but having it be so close to her people made it a concern. "This was a solo job, wasn't it", her eyes continued to examine the pictures. One of the photos of the bodies looked to have a knife wound on them. Searching for survivors? Most hits would happen fast without taking the time to kill survivors. A single knife wound victim would say this was a hit on a particular person but it was done to more than one. This was personal.

"That's what I heard the cops saying when they arrived", that last part caught Vona's attention. "You were there before the cops, how close were you when it happened?", a look of concern came upon her face as she glanced back at the photos.

"I was across the street when it happened, I was on my way here"

"Did anyone see you go into to take the pictures?"

"I-I don't think so"

"Are you certain?"

"No, I'm sorry Ma, It happened fast and I didn't want the cops to catch me there"

"Its fine love, I'm not mad at you", Vona hugged the young dark elf before looling to Seleris. "Sel, have one of our boys watch Jaani for a few nights. Love, take the night off. You did good tonight"

Jaani took back her phone before smiling at Vona, "Thank you ma"

"You're welcome, love", Jaani exited the room with Seleris following behind her. Vona, now alone in her office, replayed the images in her head while looming over the files again. This attack came out of nowhere and if she had missed something that could endanger her enterprise she needed to correct it.

"Who are you"
Madame Vona

Name:Tarvona Moran

Age:34

Gender:Female

Race:Dark Elf

Personality
A rather enigmatic woman, Vona crafts her words carefully before speaking, making sure not to say more than is necessary. While she respects strength, one cannot hope to impress her quite easily. For her, a sharp mind as well as a strong body make a formidable pair. As for her rule over The Black Rose, she does not tolerate recklessness or needless violence. Most problems can be solved quietly and without the involvement of the police. That being said, she is not against using the police to her advantage, often attempting to either get officers on her payroll or at least establish some form of relationship. An enemy can also be an ally, it all depends on the current situation.

Bio
Born to poverty in the less affluent area of Belwyn, Tarvona grew up admist small time gang activity. Her single mother worked at a strip club to pay the bills but it was barely enough to get by. From a very young age, Vona threw in with a small dark elf gang to help pay the bills but it was never really enough. While it did take care of their financial problem to a degree, Vona wanted more. She hated living in the poverty stricken area she called home. To see others living in luxury while she carried on like a common thief forged a fire in her. Eventually she found work in an escort agency, servicing her clients while recording it all in the hopes of blackmailing them for more money. On more than one occasion she almost lost her life but managed to pull through. After enough time she took over the agency, expanding her business over time to encompass more and more of the red light district. At one point her agency, now known as The Black Rose was engaged in a war with the already established prostitution rings in the red light district. With finesse and the well placed bullet, Tarvona managed to either destroy completely or absorb the rival gangs into her own. Today she controls a monopoly on the sex industry with her VIP nightclub "The Rose Garden" being a neutral zone at times for rival gangs to meet and negotiate.

Gang affiliation or Other affiliations
Black Rose- Located in the city's red light district, Black Rose controls the prostitution, escort agencies, and strip clubs that conduct business in that area of the city. Under Madame Vona's control the group has gone from a small escort agency to the sole authority in the sex industry. Despite this, Madame Vona does not see her workers as mere employees but people she cares greatly for. While the city has opportunity for all, there are those fallen on hard times or never given a fair chance. Black Rose offers those individuals a way out of destitution, its not a great way but its something. As such the Black Rose's matron does not take kindly to those who hurt her people or mistreat them. Black Rose Enforcers can be identified by their gang's insignia tattooed on their chest or by their iconic all black suits with the red insignia sewn over there breast pocket of the suit jacket. The way The Black Rose operates isn't quite like how the other gangs conduct themselves. While some may be inclined to violence against other gang members, Black Rose enforcers only engage in confrontations to protect themselves, other Rose members, and their territory.

Stuff:

Magic:
Ember's Touch-the only spell she is capable of casting, Vona's hand is enveloped in fire. Upon touching an item or individual, the target is set alight in an instant yet should they touch another object the fire will not spread.

"Ma'am, my analysis of this system gives us a slightly higher chance of survival if we land on either two of the four planets in this system", the AI spoke with a calm voice amidst the the growing tension within the pod. As for Irisa, Gaz's voice brought her attention to the human heading for the pod hatch. "Awake or not we have to get out of this pod soon", she thought to herself before running over to grab the human. "Get ahold of yourself and sit down", she said while trying to pull him away from the hatch. Her height causing her to loom over the human probably did not help to calm him but she didn't have time to comfort him. "AI, bring the data on my helmet visor", her tone was stern as she loosened her grip on Odd before turning towards the front of the pod. "Certainly ma'am, forgive me for not bringing this to your attention sooner but it seems this vessel's hull integrity is degrading due to an internal fuel leak. I calculate that we will have insufficient fuel to land to be one hour", Irisa's eyes widened with the news of the fuel leak. Thankfully the Kasi had awoken by then leaving her with one less thing to worry about. "Try and see if you can get the machine online, we need everyone up and ready to go once we land", her words were hurried while addressing the Kasi, her attention being focused mainly on the fuel leak issue. "Alright I have one hour to find us a suitable landing site", her mind working to figure out their best course of action. Bringing up the planetary scans on her helmet's display it seemed as though their options weren't ideal:

Daedalus I
Planet surface 85% liquid water, marine lifeforms present, minimal terrestrial lifeforms, landmass mostly tropical but minimal mineral ore present on land, mostly below waterlevel. Average Day Temp: 93°F/Night Temp: 67°F. Frequent rain with hurricane season once a year.

Minos Labyri I
Thick clouded atmosphere, highly dangerous lightening storms closer to surface, 20lbs heavier gravitational pull, thick atmosphere creates low light enviornment, perpetual twilight, cold climate, 82% land over surface. average amount of terrestrial lifeforms, consistent temp of 27°F. Minimal marine lifeforms, weather is frequent flurries, blizzards, and freezing winds. Sentient lifeforms present, tribal civilization.

Icarus I
Arid planet, thin atmosphere, gravitational pull 50lbs lighter, arid rocky flatlands, scattered oasises, large patches of sand dunes, single ocean low in marine life, predatory terrestrial life, Day Temp: 96°F/Night Temp: 45°F, monthy sandstorms, yearly rain season lasting 1 month with scattered light showers of low volume. scattered abandoned mining colonies

Daedalus II
Universal Tropical Biome, highly diverse ecosystem, high concentration of vegetation across planet surface, foliage hypergrowth capable of enveloping most structures in weeks. high humidity, frequent heavy rainfall, average day temp 93 night temp 77, numerous lakes and rivers across planet surface, mountainous regions frequent landslides.
1. planet surface 85% water, marine lifeforms present, minimal terrestrial lifeforms, landmass mostly tropical but minimal mineral ore present on land, mostly below the water. average day time temp is 93 degrees fahrenheit with night temp being 67 degrees fahrenheit. frequent rain with hurricane season once a year.

"We can't land on Minos Labyri I, the storms could ignite the fuel leak. Daedalus has a small land mass to ocean ratio, we'd be stranded in the water. Daedalus II seems full of life but there are a lot of variables that can hurt us rather than help. We're left with Icarus I. Myself, the Kasi, Urhusasja, and machine will fair the best there but the humans would suffer. If we landed near a mining colony we could perhaps establish a base there and scavenge for supplies", while normally she wouldn't care for the suffering of humans but in a situation like this a tolerance for them was necessary. "Everyone, we don't have much time, we're landing on Icarus I and heading for the nearest mining outpost. Pilot, bring us down"
I hereby claim title of dark elf gang leader for maself *he said in a redneck voice*

YOOO @Inertia ITS BEEN A WHILE MENG!

It was muffled at first, as if coming from another room. Slowly as she regained consciousness it grew into a sharp ringing thag couldn't be ignored. As she examined the room her situation became more and more peculiar. The escape pod was cylindrical in shape with passenger seats along the sides with a pilot seat at the front. It wasn't the escape pod that she found strange however but the company she shared inside. Two humans, one in the seat beside her @Zelosse and the other in the pilot seat @Spriggs27, a scowl formed on her visage as she tried to lean away from the human beside her. A Kasi @Ryonara was also sitting beside her though its presence was met with less disdain. What's more she found herself sitting across from an Urhusasja @Kalleth and a beast of a machine @Lucius Cypher. "Hey, pilot!", Irisara called out, hoping to wake the others. Removing the safety restraints from over her torso she slowly made her way towards the front of the pod. Upon approach the control pad came back online along with the projection of the onboard AI. "Hello, ma'am. I was beginning to think none of you would wake up. I've been trying to wake you all for some time but you all failed to respond to my efforts. Are you alri-", the AI was cut off as Irisa shook the pilot awake. "Save it, what system are we currently in?", she asked before moving through the ship to wake every one up. "Wake up", her stern voice matched her eyes as she shook the human she was previously sitting by.

"We appear to be floating in the Daedalus System, home to four planets but no established colonies besides an abandoned mining colony. If you'd like I shall display the planetary scanner data on-screen for you"

"Do it", Irisa was more concerned with getting everyone up. Even though she couldn't remember, perhaps someone here did.

A buzzing nose rang beneath the haze, a pair of eyes slowly working their way open and into the waking world of a shuttering sound as the buzzing stopped and blared into a loud screech. The sound jarred the male awake and he was quickly thrust from his unconscious state and into the realization that a second pod was aloof. He quickly tore open his restraints and looked about the pod to find beside him an Azaali@Silverpaw, and on his other side was a Halion@Spriggs27, while across from him was a human girl@Rekaigan, a female Qari@Norschtalen, and an autonomous AI Unit@InkIsDorian. While Xi felt they weren't all inherently bad, he had his doubts about the Hallion, and in turn made sure to attempt to wake the others while neglecting that procedure with the Halion. While Xi was doing so, the screeching and buzzing noises finally ceased and Xi was met with a relieving tone.

"Sir. Systems have been normalized, you are finally awake. How are the.." The AI was cut off almost as soon as it began to speak once more after finishing it sub-routines and stabilizing it's faulty presence. "Where are we currently?" Xi spoke firmly and quickly, not wanting to waste a moment while assessing the pod's systems and data from the pilot seat. "It seems this life boat is currently floating through the Daedalus System. There are four planets, but none show any signs of past, present, or future colonization outside of an abandoned mining colony present on one of the planets." The AI stuttered a moment and then flickered in and out on the display projection. "I-I-I... WILL display the infoooormation now." The AI seemed to stutter and drag out as it's systems began to react again.

"Let me see all you have, upload it directly, I can't trust this AI's stability." Xi spoke with one last murmur before looking to the other bodies in the pod. "I will have to let them know our situation, if I can wake them."
