might as well go with one of my favorite worlds.

@Lugubrious Kallahar did have her helmet off for the exchange.
I'll express interest as well. From the shape battered ship as Dezuel.

"I play the role that I have chosen for myself, and so should you."

She stuck her blade point first into the ground and crossed her own arms. The thought crossed her mind to give chase but it would be better to sit still and await their companions return.

"Being a game, none of what others think should matter. And if it does, what of Ravenmar who would worship you without a second thought?"

Kallahar dismounted and removed her helmet. She knelt down and lifted Lenore's head.

"No, it isn't you. But who you are on the inside is all that matters. I see a girl that cares deeply about others. No matter what you are on the outside, nothing can change that. You will always be who you are on the inside."

She stood again and looked off into the trees.

"Every creature under the sky acts according to it's nature. You can never truly be anything that you do not wish to be. Show the world that kindhearted girl."

"Intercept"

Her Black Charger opened a maw that contained entirely too many teeth and leapt forward with the barest nudge of her heels as Kallahar drew her blade. A handful of blows struck home, somehow finding gaps in her armor. The damage was almost beneath her notice and the Death knight swung down with her blade.

"Deaths Blessing"

Her offhand glowed with a dark light and reached down to grasp a beastman around the face. The figure shriveled and fell lifelessly to the ground. Killing sentient beings, despite their being weaker than the beholder filled Kallahar with more zeal.

"Embrace yourself. If you accept your nature then you have no cause to care what others think. They think you an aberration, a mistake. But you are a goddess to them. Bend your will, your power, and prove them wrong."

Shadows dappled her skin, matching the patterns of light and dark that covered the trees. Not just the patterns of light and shade but also that of the bark. The effect was a near perfect camouflage.

A single hand became visible, signaling the others to proceed with caution. Her other hand held her crossbow in a ready position. The smaller than standard weapon would make an almost imperceptible noise compared to something full sized.

"It might be difficult for the large group to approach with the sentries in place. Ideally we could eliminate several to create a blind spot to approach through."

Kallahar put her finger and her thumb in her mouth to let out an eery, bone chilling whistle. A dozen paces away the earth exploded upwards and outwards as a gaunt horse burst forth. It's dessicated, leathery skin stretched tight over bone.

Well, that was certainly more impressive than usual.

The undead steed made no sound save that of it's steps on the trail. Kallahar was likewise silent behind her mask. She was thankful for the aid provided by Emile, invaluable in the unknown area. The Death knight had travelled the entirety of what had been thus far explored of Yggdrasil but all the had been seen so far was unknown.

She took the news about the beastmen with a characteristic stoicism and that of the village equally. Under the mask though, there was some excitement. This was an area in conflict and such areas always brought her some entertainment.

"You would do well to perhaps observe Ravenmar from a distance. Your features might not be seen as friendly if what you say is true. I have no problem staying here."

His forward knee, god's be blessed that it wasn't his bad leg, collapsed slightly. It wasn't as bad as it could have been. Without a more fit mans mobility his fighting style relied on planting his feet and fighting from an unmoving position.

As Indrau fell, he resisted the urge to catch his fall with his hands and instead extended his blade, arresting the tumble with an arms length of steel through the assailants chest.

She screamed in obvious frustration and used her own spear to pin the nearest of them to the ground to free both of her hands to grab the next closest and snap his neck with a savage twist. The limp corpse was raised as a shield against the arrows in one hand as her other arm batted aside blades with an armoured bracer and swatted their wielders to the ground to have their throats stomped in with terrible force.

@Lugubrious did you want Kallahar to respond to Ravenmar before you post?

The light crossbow kick against her shoulder, a drop of darkness clinging to it leaving a trail in the air. An entirely useless gesture as things seemed well in hand. Had the fight continued the shadow would have spread to cover the giant birds head.

Szeren walked to the downed bird and retrieved the bolt, wiping it on the dead birds feathers and replacing it in her quiver.

Szeren had taken the last watch, sitting unseen in the last of the morning shade as the other cadets rose to greet the day. The early morning had been her favorite time in her old town, with the only people alert to notice a daring thief being the fisherman headed out to sea.

She had been near the lead group, moving nearly unseen through the trees unless one knew what to look for. on the crest of the hill she stepped back into view, the crossbow held ready.

"I can move ahead unseen, if needed. A careful scouting should lower any risk."
