Perfect, now we just wait for @jamesyco to post.
I've had this idea for a little while. It combines elements of Magic: The Gathering and HeroScape, both of which I have never played. You will create custom cards that represent your characters and I will act as the DM. I'm mostly looking for critiques, ideas, and suggestions, but interest as well.

Character Cards
There are two types of character cards: Heroes and Minions. Heroes are named individuals who represent you, and each player has one. They have a vitality attribute and an attack attribute. If their vitality reaches 0 they are incapacitated for the remainder of the session. Minions represent, well, minions. They may be Viking Warriors, a Special Agent, or something like that. Minions have an attack and a defense attribute. Some characters may have abilities that allow them to fly, attack twice, synergize with allies, outright destroy cards, etc.

Augments
Augments represent enchantments, spells, weapons, armor, etc that can be played on character cards to give them abilities or enhance their attributes. Once played they are bound to that character card and cannot be removed. If the character is destroyed they are removed from play.

Gameplay
Prior to a session you will choose a Hero to represent you. Next you will roll dice several times to determine your hand (each card has a number associated with it; roll that number, that card is part of your hand).

A session begins when I play a Rival (anti-Hero) and a number of enemy character cards, and a session ends when you have destroyed the Rival. During your turn you will

  • Play one character or augment
  • Choose attackers

Once all of the players have chosen attackers I will choose defenders. Damage may be dealt and cards may be destroyed, but I will explain that below. It will then pass to my turn, where I will play new cards and/or choose my attackers. You cannot defend with a card you used to attack, and likewise I cannot attack with a card I used to defend.

How Attacking and Defending Works
Alright, so it's your turn and you want to attack. Each character card has an Attack and Defense value. Let's say you want to attack with Viking Warriors whose attributes are 3/2 (Attack/Defense).

The enemy decides to block you
The enemy blocks you with Forest Spiders 1/1. Because your attack is greater than their defense, their card is destroyed. Since they only have 1 attack they were not strong enough to overcome your 2 defense. But if they had defended with two Forest Spiders the Viking Warriors would have still destroyed them, but the 1 attack and 1 attack would have overcome your defenses and they would be destroyed as well.

The enemy decides not to block you
If the enemy decides not to block you then your character deals direct damage to the Rival. The Rival in turn deals damage to the character.
@Landain I just added up 1080, 1080, and 800 - the size of the three Abteilung's. I neglected to add the 40 staff officers at that time. I read the bio one day, and on another day I quickly added up the troop counts so I could post the first post lol.

I will edit in those 40 men each later, sorry for the confusion.
We have notAustria and sorta notRussia, notFrance, all we're missing is notPrussia! I might have a notPrussia come in as reinforcements sometime during the battle just because - haven't decided yet.

Also, just wanted to say I'm happy we have a full roster of infantry, cavalry, and artillery.
@Landain @Andreyich @Jamesyco

If you haven't already you can post your bio in the characters tab. I have made the first post of the role play. This is phase one: planning, in which you simply propose a strategy. When a strategy has been determined and troop layout decided upon phase one will end and phase two: battle will begin.

If you're having a hard time understanding the layout of the Blue Valley, this might help you:

I know it's not the best map and you'll have to forgive me for using MSPaint, but I lack good drawing skills and I don't know a good map maker. The dark green lines represent the tops of the western and eastern hill. The Blue Valley is large enough for the entire Allied army to fit inside of it and move around comfortably. You cannot go through the northern or southern woodlands. The hills are high enough that you can't see the Emperor's army. Artillery placed at the top of the hill will be able to fire on anyone who is descending the other hill.

The role play begins in the evening, and the battle will begin in the morning. Weather looks clear so far.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
The austere cover of night would fall across La Bleue Vallée in only a few hours. Colloquially known as ‘the Blue Valley, the vale was an oasis: a marshy, wetland forest sat to the north and a thick woodland anchored itself to the south. It served as the only passable terrain for caravans, armies, and travelers for many miles. Both the western and eastern approach were marked by high rising hills, whose interior slopes created the valley itself. It was wide enough for two full-sized armies to deploy comfortably, without being too restricted by either the marsh or the woodland.

Francisco Marion’s Imperial Army had made camp on the exterior slope of the eastern hill, outside the valley. The Allied camp was situated opposite, on the exterior slope of the western hill. The size and composition of both armies were concealed.

Marion had made a name for himself during his country’s Revolution, in which he had scored consecutive victories for the Republic against much larger armies, who were better trained and equipped than his own. And it was all due to his brilliance as a commander. Within a few short years the upstart general defeated the Royalists, ousted the royal family, and proclaimed himself Emperor. But his career did not end there.

Surrounding monarchs had watched the Revolution with keen interest, supporting the Royalists with money, arms, and even men. After the civil war Emperor Francisco condemned those nations who opposed him and his supporters. He launched preemptive invasions to subdue his would-be opponents, thrashing their armies time and time again and forcing them to sign unfavorable treaties. Coalitions were proposed and great battles fought, but it seemed as if nothing could stop this invincible opponent.

But Emperor Marion did not account for the terrible winter that had come. His campaign was stalled and he was forced to retreat, pestered by Dusmane horsemen. His route would take him through La Bleue Vallée. The Allies quickly assembled an army to blockade the western pass, and if Francisco wishes to make it home he must break through.

Phase One: Planning
Friedrich, Duke von Nordmann; Iouldouz Edicoglu Khan; Julian Mackeralini. The commanders of the Allied Army. Each one had brought men from their respective nation to partake in this battle, a Battle of the Nations. There were nearly 12,000 infantrymen from the Halldor Empire, a hefty contribution. Then there were approximately 6,000 skilled Dusmane horsemen to complement those infantrymen. Finally a regiment of artillery and a Republican Guard unit from Gauldin itself, fighting for the Allies.

The three armies encamped themselves on the western exterior slope, presenting an obstacle to Emperor Marion's own force, whose size and composition was currently unknown. Of course there was the infantry, cavalry, and artillery which had served the Emperor in his winter campaign, but he had called for reinforcements from surrounding states to assist him.

A central tent was erected in the center of the camp. Within sat a table and chairs, enough to sit the three commanders and their aides. Upon the table was a roughly drawn map of the Blue Valley. It was time for each commander to propose a strategy and determine where they wanted their regiments to be positioned.
@JamesycoIf you're interested, sure. That will make three players. If you post a bio I will start the role play with the three of you.
@Landain How interesting, I should give that a good look too. My interest for this time period lies primarily in the American Revolutionary War and American Civil War; Napoleon Bonaparte, Michel Ney, and Arthur Wellesley for Napoleonic Wars; and anything to do with Prussia.
@Landain Looks like you put a lot of work into that, I'm actually very impressed. I was only able to skim the regimental order and uniform section as I am on mobile, but would love to read it more thoroughly when I get to my desktop. Looks good, I will add you to the character list. I know I will receive a bio from one more player, and if you two are okay we can start.

I will tag @Dusty and @Espatier just in case they missed the first tag.
