Salem nodded in approval to Lilie’s suggestion. Sure he could go alone to the administration office and speak to them, but there was some form of comfort in having someone else come with you, just knowing there was someone there having your back. ”That would be nice thank you. Speaking of which...” Salem shot a sideways glance to his partner, Lucan, who was standing not too far off from the group, getting reprimanded it seemed, by professor Dracion. I suppose even a knight as high as him is still capable of being treated in such a way in a school setting. Surely it was an odd site to see. As Salem began to straighten out his shirt a bit, his glance moved over to Dracion who was now yelling at the lot of them to leave. [color-82ca9d]”Right, I suppose we shouldn’t actually be here huh? Cassandra was it? Don’t wander off too far, that sucker punch was more than you bargained for since you weren’t preparing to take it. I’ll have to check you out too to make sure there isn’t too much damage.”[/color] He gave the fire mage a wink and a smile, offering her an out in case she didn’t feel like sticking around her partner all day, after all who would? They lead separate lives and need not have to mingle.

With that Salem made his way over to Lucan. Nervousness began to well up inside of him with every step that he took. What if Lucan was the one responsible for taking all of his belongings? Some harsh punishment for getting into trouble on the night he missed, or perhaps its some sort of training Schtick, like with what Varis mentioned doing to Aaron at dinner. Or maybe it had nothing to do with the man, simply the school not allowing any foliage besides their own? That one made no sense as there was no mention of it before. Salem halted in his steps for a moment, thinking to himself in dread, What if this was all part of the investigation? Would they go so far as to take ALL of his supplies? It makes no sense His scents began to swirl up again, nerves kicking in and taking over as his steps were now more hurried, each one booming in his ears. ”Pardon me Dracion...mind if i speak to my partner in private? I’ll try to do so as we are leaving.” With that he went up to Lucan, gaze down as he softly said ”Do you have any idea why our dorm has been cleared out? All of my possessions have been lifted and there is nothing in my room...” His voice was soft, yet loud enough for a vampire to pick up and hear.

River

River picked up the eight keys that were placed on the counter and smiled politely at Nerile before she walked away. ”Thanks for the information and the keys, I’ll be joining my friends over at that table if you could bring the fruit over there please.” He smiled at her once more, keys in hand, as he made his way towards the table that Willow and Holly were sitting at. Once there he used his free hand to ruffle Willows hair as she sat there, her head plopped onto the table. ”Cheer up guys! It can’t be all bad, new floor, new people to meet, and new monsters to explore. Heh, we even get subclasses to unlock now! How cool is that?” River took a seat next to Willow, across from Holly and placed two of the keys onto the table, one in front of each of them.

”I got us some rooms for everyone. Speaking of...where...is...everyone?” He placed his left hand above his eyes looking about the tavern. ”I’m sure that they’ll be fine within the city but, if anyone stepped out of the safety zone they may of come across a nasty creature.” River lowered his voice, speaking in a low tone as if telling a scary story. ”There’s tale that a monsterous creature is roaming about the land, swimming through the rivers and snapping up at any creature is can see near its beds. They say that if it gets its cravings too bad, it’ll surface up onto land and grab its meals from there. Now, I’m sure that that’s all just a bunch of hype and propaganda against a misunderstood animal. However, its threat is real, as the massive storm we just witnessed is caused by this monster and I already witnessed its power striking players in town. They call it...the Rathan’s”

River pulled up his guild chat function and typed out a message to those not currently in attendance.

Last Genesis, please be wary while out there.
A giant roaming monster that can cause storms is out there. Do not engage.
Please meet us at the Tipsy Troodon.
I got rooms for everybody.”

Max mentally noted Wanda’s lust for making Alex suffer, more so than what this event would have caused. No, this seemed a bit too personal for it to be what Pietro was feeling. As soon as his target stopped moving it was time for the game to begin. Max plopped off the wall he had been leaning on and began to walk about, his eyes glancing slightly left to right to inconspicuously attempt to find some place for him to hide. A quick glance let him know that no one was watching at that moment as he quickly and quietly slipped into a closet room, partially empty, but completely alone. Perfect. He made himself comfy against the back wall of the closet, eyes facing towards the door Incase anyone had dared to try and enter it. Pulling out his glasses he whispered ”merotarolpxe.” causing the glass to shimmer slightly then stop. Once he placed them on he was able to see the room that Alex was being detained in as well the three guards that were attending him.

Two of the guards were patrolling the area, looking down the hallways for possible intruders or visitors, maybe even the King himself, who knew. The third however was tricky, stationed there and looking directly at his target making a stealth mission even harder to pull off. Damn it. Well, I hope these guards like a little vacation to the Sahara Desert. “Sucal” Max held his left hand forward as he began to swirl the right, attempting to open a portal beneath each guards feet and transporting them to the Desert. Unfortunately for him the task was trickier than it appeared and ended up not working. Ok then, plan B. Max prepared himself for what could end up in a fight once again whispering ”Sucal” A portal opened up in front of him and he quickly said ”erecreoc” soft enough so that the other two wouldn’t hear him. Bindings quickly flew up from the ground, immediately wrapping the facing guards mouth to stifle any screams or words. They continued down his body, mummifying him so that he could act or pursue. Max grabbed Alex, opening a final portal to his house, and jumped through it with Alex in hand. When he exited he realised he didn’t get moved to his home however. He was standing outside some sort of Warehouse, one he’d never seen before. Alex however, appeared to know all too well where they were.

”Well this isn’t where I was expecting to take us at all. Must’ve made a wrong turn at Albuquerque. You however, you seem to know where we are. So, you have my attention, your words caught my ear, tell me where we are, why you attacked the Queen, as well as what your organizations about. Oh and before you attempt to protest or run, just remember i just saved your ass from execution, went against my ‘king’ and am risking my skin for you and those you may call allies.” As he spoke, Max walked around the man in circles, keeping his eye contact on him at all times. ”What’s more you’ve already seen a taste of what I can do, and it would be easier than blinking to capture you again. So please help me understand what the hell is going on.”

As Salem and Cassandra began to spar once more, he started to get more and more into it. Getting the hang of throwing punches and attempting to read his opponents movements in order to dodge. Ofcourse chances were that Cassandra was holding back and purposefully telegraphing her movements in order to allow him to learn. As the blood began to pump Salem scarcely heard the mage that was flung across the area, throwing another punch towards the fire mage and celebrating mentally when the hit landed; but the celebration was breif as he realized what had just happened. ”Oh my- I’m so sorry! I didn’t realize we were stopping!.” It was at that moment when he turned to face the same direction as her that he saw Lilie colliding against the floor and rolling to a stop.

His eyes widened in shock at what had just transpired and he quickly clasped his partners hand to help her up, scarcely saying a word as he mindlessly walked towards his friends body. ”Yeah, sure...” he said faintly as he responded to what she had said, not actually listening. Salem began to pick up on a job and made his way towards Lilie, making sure to grab his backpack on the way there before approaching her. ”Are you alright? Are you hurt? What happened?” Salem began to ask somewhat frantically, only keeping a modicum of composure as he rifled through his bag. He pulled out a small rod with a light attached to the end, clicking it on as he held it to her eyes to see if she had a concussion. It appeared that Lilie had garnered a small crowd around her now, between Aaron, Cassandra, the life mage and himself.

He quickly clicked off the light and placed it in a small pouch inside of his bag. ”Sorry, I’m more than sure that the life mage has helped taken care of you. But if you wouldn’t mind...can you see me after class at my dorm? I may not have much at the moment but i do carry a few supplies on me just in case, and it would ease my mind knowing that i was capable of conducting an exam on you to ensure you don’t have a concussion or anything else. I may also be able to whip up some ointments for pain if need be. If that’s ok ofcourse...” His voice was sincere yet more proffesional than he had ever sounded. Sure the words may not have been the best, but the tone was not dissimilar to when you pay a visit to your local doctor. He turned to Cassandra and apologized once more for accidentally sucker punching her just before running to Lilies aid.

As Jack began to speak, Max’s inner panic began to quell. It was nice to finally have someone view him as not a complete waste of space, and understand that mistakes can happen when you’re as young as him and don’t fully grasp your powers as well as you could. He steeled himself for a moment as he nodded to Jack. ”Thanks. First I need to try to clear up my mess. Ignis Graecus” His eyes began to glow, his hands a swirl of cosmic dust. Max started to swirl his hands together, as if pantomiming the Conjuration of a whirlpool or tornado. The fire began to swoop downwards, towards his hands and began to funnel into the cosmic energy surrounding them. As soon as the funnel had made contact with the flames, it began to move upwards towards the ceiling, encasing 73% of the flames that engulfed the ceiling and then suddenly there was a poof of colored dust. Falling down from the sky and dissipating halfway towards the floor.

Max panted for a moment, bent over and hands on his knees. ”That, there, oh, one sec sorry.” He’d put out plenty of his own fires before, as well as dissipating clothing or his cane, but this was different; an immense force of energy created this fire and it took a lot of energy to take it back. Finally catching his breath as James made his way out, Max once again nodded at Jack in an affirmation to go. Getting his wind back and making his way towards the portal as looked anxiously back at James in hopes that he would return and make it back safety. He waited just on the other side of the portal, waiting to see if he would be needed.

Jinx giggled as Requiem spoke into his ear, pretending as if his ‘lover’ had just said something rather funny. A curt little smile graced his lips as he attempted not to be too devilish in his appearance. ”You got it Daddy. Honestly I cant believe it slipped either of our minds.” Jinx’s eyes glanced over at the guards as they approached them, spying the mans badge and searching for a way to release it from his possession. Luckily, years of pick pocketing would help him out in such an affair. He quickly Jinxed the guard, causing him to lose his footing and fall into a split. Jinx, however, was quick to act, grabbing the guards waist and torso as he caught the man mid fall, slipping his badge off of him and placing it firmly into his own pocket with out anyone’s notice. ”Woah, careful there buddy. It takes years of practice to do such a split.”

With that out of the way, Jinx turned about and skipped on over to his lovely friend at the guard desk. Propping his elbows up onto the desk as he used his hands to support his head and smiled at the man. ”Hi, so, psh, this is like, sooo embarrassing, but, well, you see we don’t really have a directory for-“ and Jinx quickly lowered his voice so that only the guard could hear ”-where we need to be for our visit. If you could tell me where the security footage room is that would completely amazing and i would love it so much.” Jinx batted his eyes at the guard as he smiled.

River

River quickly pulled out the 31 coppers pieces he needed for his order. Giving a polite smile at Neville as he laughed at her comments about his appearance. ”I do suppose that I appear that way huh? If you could, I would like to purchase eight rooms for the night, as well as a warm bath for one room and a plate of that Sliced Boni Fruit please” He held the copper out for the woman to grab as needed before continuing on. ”Is the weather always like this? I heard you make mention of a Rathan? What’s that, some form of creature?” He had only been here for a short amount of time, and already the floor was drastically different, not only that, but there was a whole floor of monsters to learn, techniques to try, and quests to take up. His eyes kept darting back towards the notification on his screen that read

As River pulled up his menu, he searched his inventory for the new floors map, hoping to get a better view of it. He pulled it out and laid it flat across the counter top, as he sat there tapping his pointer finger against his cheek. Hmmm so it appears that we are in the main city called Riliquia. Part of the city lays across a small body of water, but it appears there’s a dock to take a boat across to either the Shamans house for the subclass quest, or the Guild Hall which seems to have the arena attached to it. As soon as this storm quiets down I think I should head on over to the docks and see about picking up my subclass. Rivers thoughts were interrupted as a loud boom could be heard outside, lighting striking very close to the Tavern. He sat there, waiting for the rest of his guild mates to arrive to the tavern so that they can discuss some form of plan.

”It’s no problem, really. I was just doing my part to help out. The Queen deserves to be treated better than that.: Max gave him a smile back, turning his head slightly to face Wanda, still puzzled by her and her behavior. He walked over to Alex, beginning to do some somatic gestures as his eyes went their usual cosmic color before finally placing a tracing spell on him. After doing so Max nodded to the guards, sighnifying that he was about to undo the chains he had placed on the man, and with a snap of his fingers the chains burst into purple, blue, and pink dust that vanished into the air. He gave them a bow as he began to walk backwards a few steps ”I took the liberty of placing a tracking spell on the man. If he manages to leave his cell I should be notified immediately. You can never be to careful amongst their types. Now if you’ll excuse me.” Max finally stood up straight and then left the twins to their own devices.

As he walked away he began to think about the words Alex had said. This world was far from perfect it appeared, and although Max appeared to be on the top, it was only because he stood on the backs of others, ignoring their plight. Almost immediately a thought crossed his mind telling him The scum deserve it. How long have they tortured and killed my own? It’s their turn to pay The thought sat ill in his stomach as it settled into his head. Two worlds, two mindsets, and death and prejudices on either side. Max neared the end of his little walk at the corner of the wall heading towards where the party had been. He laid himself against it and then began to think about the man he’d just helped incarcerate. Alexander Jacobsen, a once mutant friendly advocate, now stabbing the Queen out of hatred and spite. Wanda may not be of help, but perhaps this other awoken mutant can be...now if only he knew who it was.

Max watched in fear as the guards began to show up. Three armed men, each directing their guns at James. Sure he had a healing factor, but could he survive a gun wound? James began to speak to the guards, obviously distracting them but for what? Max began to look around, trying to read the faces of the other mutants with him, looking for any hint as to what sort of action they wanted to take. From what he could gather, it appeared that everyone wanted to engage the guards in some way, shape, or form. But what could Max do? A direct assault with his cane may get him shot, tying them up with fabrics or other articles of clothing would notify them of a mutant attack. Fire was too dangerous to wield around all these cardboard boxes but...

It was then that he spotted the sprinklers up top. Ofcourse! Every building has to have some sort of fire suppression system! Even a candle could cause them to rain down upon the guards and trigger the alarms, if held close enough. Max looked towards Jack and smiled ”I think I have an idea.” he said as he motioned towards the ceilings sprinklers. Before Jack could say or do anything, Max began to whisper his incantation ”Sucearg Singi’ A conflagration appeared over the guards heads, setting off the fire alarms, as well as lighting the ceiling on fire. Shit shit shit shit shit. That was not the idea i had in mind Panic quickly overtook his face as he watched in horror. Sure, this may provide enough of a distraction for James to get away, but it was also destruction of property.

Max watched the guards intently, waiting for any sign of movement. If they were to shoot, he was prepared to bolt in front of James and take the bullet; after all what is the use of Kevlar clothing if not to stop a bullet? However, if it appeared that the guards where to flee, he would attempt to cancel the fire as soon as they left the room in which they were all in. The stress of it all seemed to slow down time for Tome, as he awaited the others moves.

The guards were greatly aggrivating Jinx, as they acted as though they had any authority over what he could or could not do. “I cant stand here huh? Well what about this then?’ Jinx quickly flipped onto his hands, his face now looking towards the entrance of the building as he continued. “Happy? I’m not standing here anymore so now you can stop complaining. Besides I don’t need-“ His sentence was quickly cut off as he watched Requiem begin to make his way into the building. Jinx quickly went back onto his feet, more than aware that his partner doesn’t stand for such Tom foolery, although he was asked to make a scene, its best not to get on his bad side so early into the mission.

What followed next was more of a shock to him than his day so far. Requiem called him his lover of all things. Bleh. As if he’d ever be with such a stick in the mud. Jinx watched as he tried to use his powers of persuasion and failed miserably. Knowing the feeling, Jinx leaned his head against Requiems shoulder and batted his eyelashes at the guard, nudging his partner as soon as he became Jinxed. Ofcourse even with his aid, it appeared these guards were tough to crack, then again what could one expect from a telepaths guards? Finally in frustration he held up his pass that Shaw had given him, making sure only the guard could see as he leaned in and whispered. ”Listen here you little shit. We have a damn Multi-Pass and we were never here ok? So keep this to yourself and let us in or you’ll be facing a lot of trouble. Capice?” Jinx had opted to keep the man under his influence for a while, hoping that he would have a horrid day as payment for taking up his valuable time.

River

Not long after the fight had ended, had a massive door been created in the field. It’s ornate features only shown for a moment before shattering into a myriad of pixels before the players, and teleporting the arena into a new town; the second floor. Large stone buildings with outer wooden beams and tiled roofs, surrounded the players who teleported in what appeared to be the towns plaza. Rain began pelting the trainer, large droplets of water spattering all over his face as well as Pepper who immediately flew under the nearest roof for cover. River followed soon behind, running his left arm across his body to hold himself from shivering too much as he pulled up his inventory quickly and layer one his clothes.

Two messages appeared on his H.U.D. Urging him and all other players to take cover. Already this floor proved to be vastly different from the others, it appeared that the weather here either was always harsh, or could become harsh. He watched as a lighting bolt quickly fell from the sky and barraged the grassy ground, kicking up chunks of dirt and mud, splattering a few players. He quickly decided to send a message out to the guild using the guild chat function.

”Lets head to the Tipsy Trodoon. Other Inns will be over stuffed because they are closer, if we can beat the people to the punch we can hopefully get a room and food first.”

River stuffed Pepper into his most inner shirt so only her head was poking out. He quickly ran towards the Tipsy Trodoon, making sure not to slip on the sleek, wet, grass on his way there. As he was running he noticed a curious quest pop up on his mini map.
>>Hidden Knowledge: Subclasses
Maybe this is why the quest didn’t trigger when he had hit level 15 before, it appeared you weren’t meant to until you reached the second floor, a possible deterrent for power levelers. River finally made it to the Tavern, his ginger curls now outstretched and stuck agains his face, going midway down it. He sighed a large sigh of relief as he made his way over to the counter to attempt to both grab a table as well as a few rooms for his guild mates.

Salem walked up to the familiar fire mage, moving some of his hair behind his ear and out of his face. Growing up he never quite learned the techniques or skills for hand to hand combat, but he had seen some action films so, he knew what to do...he hoped. As he approached her Salem smiled and nervously said ”I don't really know how to fight, nor do I know how to pull punches. Forgive me if I manage to land a blow and actually hurt you.” He extended his hand out for her to shake.

"Likewise," she took his hand and shook. She had trained in hand to hand, but no weapons. She was confident in this fight, but didn't know what would happen when they were given swords. The two stood awkwardly after that for a moment. Should I, like, just start swinfing?"

Salem began to draw a circle in the dirt, about 10 feet in circumference. ”Let's see who can not only win this little brawl, but also knock the other outside if the circle.” He moved towards the center of the new ring and began pouncing a bit in place with his fists up. ”Feel free to swing first.”

Cassandra nodded and put her right foot back in a stable fighting stance, hands up in guard position. She struck out with her left hand in a jab, aimed loosely at Salem's face, but followed up with a more serious cross with her right, toward his midsection.

Salem bobbed towards the right, narrowly dodging her jab but unknowingly moving right into her right fist that landed square onto his midsection. There was a small cocky smile as he dodged the first hit, then a wince at the second. ”Nice hit.” Salem moved his right leg forward as he went to go hit Cassandra with his left fist, aiming up high towards her jaw hoping to distract her. His right leg quickly swept as he ducked and attempted to trip her.

Cassandra said nothing, and tucked her chin to protect her neck and jaw. Salem was a good deal taller than her, and when he swept her legs, she fell forward into him.

She grabbed Salem about the waist, trying to bring him down with her.

Salem felt her force pulling against his, trying to bring him down. He instead clapped his hands onto her shoulders and attempted to hold her in place. "You definitely have some fire in you. But I'm not a frail as I appear." He began to shift his feet, moving in a circle to switch sides with her so that he stood where she previously was, before attempting to shove her off of him and back up.

Cassandra was all too happy to disengage. She took the step backwards, planting both feet firmly on the ground for the barest moment. Then the same foot came back, on level with Salem's neck, in a high roundhouse kick.

"Apropriate," she grunted through gritted teeth as he foot flew.

The kick landed square on his jaw as he froze for a second, eyes agape, before attempting to dodge it and failing. His head jerked to the right and he held it facing down for a moment before wiping his chin and looking back at her. The move seemed easy enough, if she could do it why can't he? He bounced back a bit, planting his feet just long enough to jolt himself forward and jump up attempting the roundhouse kick. However he miscalculated the ease of this move and instead fell flat onto his back, having the wind knocked out a bit.

Cassandra swiveled around, hoping for Salem's sake that nobody was looking their way at that particular moment. If someone looked now they would just think she had knocked him down, which she was fine with, and presumably he would prefer.

"You okay?" Cassandra figured the fight was over, and stepped forward to offer her hand to pull him up.

Salem reached up and grabbed her hand, allowing her to help him get up. ”Thanks. Aside from my ego, I don't think anything's bruised. Say, whered you learn to fight like that? It's kinda cool.” Salem mock jabbed as he asked the question.

"I had an early awakening, and got tutored on a bunch of stuff like that," she shrugged. "Keep your wrist straight, thumb outside of your fist. Punch through your target." She demonstrated each step, throwing an air punch. "Oh! And put your hips into it.

Salem nodded as Cassandra spoke. "Thanks. Alright so like this?" Salem stood, legs spread shoulder width apart, hips squared as he eyed her posture. He made a fist with his thumb out and punched straight towards her, keeping his wrist straight and seeing himself going through the target.

Cassandra swatted the fist, turning her body as she did so. The fist sailed past her shoulder, and she put a hand out to stop Salem from falling into her.
"Yeah, that's pretty good. Now practice that a couple thousand times. Though, don't start with your body facing me square on. Keep one foot back, and the shoulder too. You show a smaller target, and the twist of your hips puts some umph in your punch."

The fight had kind of petered out, and Cassandra felt a little weird trying to hit him again. "I think that's enough?"

"Smaller target, got it." Salem straightened himself out again, extending his hand for her to shake. "Thanks for all the pointers. I really appreciate it."

She took his hand again. "No problem! Hit me up if you need to spar."
