For position, Ardour would probably be in the front again, for the same reason as before. Reconnaissance! Now if only he could get one more level and get that Shadow Step...

I'll have him react to things in my next post, though it's mostly just him dying on the inside and wondering how he got stuck with this group of all people. |D

Was going to wait for a few more posts, but I'm catching up and can get a little something up tomorrow!
Sorry not posting yet. Had people over so couldn't really write over the weekend. Got a post started today, and will finish tomorrow. Excited to get goingg.
Working to catch up on replies I owe, and just wanted to check--- is this still a thing? Are we just waiting for everyone to get a post in, or?
Post all done! Ayame is--- so not enjoying her day so far, ha. But I am.

Also apologies, I didn't know about your eyesight! I figured maybe you hadn't noticed the status thing, since it initially took me a while to notice as well. On that note, I usually use the silver color for my posts, but if it makes reading more difficult due to the lack of contrast, let me know and I'll drop it.
What followed Ayame's scolding was silence and oh, was it ever so sweet. The thugs, now quiet as a grave, turned to look at her in unison - as they very well should have. Ayame expected them to look her in the eye while apologizing. Anything less would be most rude, and earn them another round of reprimands.

The renard was only vaguely aware of everyone backing away from her. She could see people move, but figured they were simply about to return to their daily chores now that she'd successfully defused the situation. Out of every single person on the road, she seemed the only one blissfully unable to read the mood.

After a moment's wait, Ayame clicked her tongue. It was taking awfully long for these boars to open their mouths. She didn't have the whole day to wait for a few simple words of apology.

Finally, one of the men spoke - the ugliest one in the bunch, she noted. Though it was quite a close competition.

What came out his mouth was not regret. It was rage. And he wasn't the only one. His rude behaviour was soon echoed by another, then another, and then... another... Oh. There were... quite many of these ruffians, weren't there? ... No matter, numbers did not excuse rudeness.

"Wh- what did you just call me?" Ayame snapped at the butch woman's sudden name-calling. "Why, I'm not about to be insulted by someone with a bull's behind for a face!"

They were walking towards her now, their ill intent clear. But they wouldn't... they wouldn't truly dare lay a hand on her, would they? She was--- she was important.

"You would not dare," she stated, staring down the approaching group. Each step they took made her confidence falter that much more. "You would--- Do you have any idea who I am?! Not a single step closer now. N-not one. I'll--- I'll think you're serious if you... keep-"

Ayame threw a quick, pleading glance to her right. Anyone that happened to be within her line of sight quickly looked the other way. No way. No. Way. This could not be happening. Not to her. She was a lady!

"Ahhh, let the gods curse you all!" Ayame screeched, teary-eyed, as she whipped around and dashed away from the pack of bloodthirsty animals in human skin. She would remember this. Oh, yes, she would. One day, when she was rich and famous and all-powerful, she would remember this betrayal and buy this entire backwater town!

But first, she had to live long enough to see that day.

Neither Ayame's shoes nor physique were made for running, but panic was a potent motivator, pushing her forth like a dreadful tailwind. She nearly tripped once or twice, her ankle throbbing from missteps, but she could not afford to stop. Not before she found a place to hide. Yes, hide, but where!?

She could smell the thugs behind her, the stench as foul as their faces. At this rate, they'd catch up, unless she found a---

Ayame skid around a corner. There was a large villa a little distance from her. A spear of some sort sat embellished onto a banner on the wall. Ayame didn't really pay much attention to the details. All she saw was a door and a potential hiding place.

She stumbled through the gate to the door, banging her fist onto the door once, twice-- before forgoing that whole formality altogether. Instead, the fox grabbed the handle, flung the door open and practically threw herself inside with abandon, unaware and uncaring of what - or who - she might land on.
What awaited them beyond the door was... darkness, pretty much. Duncan could make out walls of solid cement and the beginnings of a table, but that was pretty much the extent of it. There was no exit in sight, but also no axe murderer waiting to strike them down, so he figured he shouldn't complain too much. 'Sides, for all he knew, the exit could be waiting right at the other end of the hallway. All they needed now was--

Light, he heard Pebs say.

This time, Duncan came prepared. When he heard the magic word, he raised an arm to shield his eyes from the incoming brightness. A few flickers later, he blinked his eyes back open to take in the now-illuminated hallway. The table was whole now, with an old boom box atop it. A speaker was missing. Wait... didn't they...?

"Yo, Pebs, mind digging out the speaker? Think we found it a home." Duncan called behind him as she walked up to the table. There was indeed a door at the other end - but for some reason, he didn't trust it to be open. Call it a hunch - or past trauma. Man, he sure hoped he didn't have to bust his way through this one too.

As he waited for Pebs to bring the speaker over, he checked the drawer. They did have a key without a lock, after all.

Yeah, I acknowledged that today is Sunday, as you can see:

I'm working on a post. As I wrote in my status, I've been away for the weekend until my guests leave. (It's Sunday, but they're still here, so only able to start writing today as opposed to yesterday, though.)

You don't really need to check players' profiles, actually. There's a status message under the icon, which says when it was last updated. If you hover over it, it shows you the status message. But yes, I can also VM you from now on as I said, it's no problem.

I didn't feel it was targeted at me specifically or anything, but you did say "everyone", and since I'm part of everyone, I updated you on my own situation.

In general, I usually post any delays or mia messages in my status, so that people in all my rps can see them at once, without me having to spam every individual topic every time. It's worked out so far, and keeps the OOC less cluttered.

With that said, if you'd prefer, I can also post the same info here or in a VM too whenever applicable.
Won't be able to post before the update unfortunately, but I'll post tomorrow right after it! Start of the week has been a bit hectic.
