Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

@The1Rolling1Boy: Right so um...

"Greek Mythological Texts" is waaay too broad. If you're going with Callisto, the Concept of "Nymph" would make more sense. Then you could work in some charm abilities, stuff like that. As for Callisto herself, her relation to Artemis means you could give her a bow in addition to the Strength-boosting bear stuff.

Maybe make bear mode a sort of "berserker" thing where it boosts her strength a whole bunch?
Going to get my post up today or tomorrow.
Hikari watched as Tokiko desummoned the monstergirl and transformed back to normal. Given some time to slow down and think, she now found herself thinking about the variation between magical girls. That one girl with the kanabo had horns, she'd actually seemed to physically transform... while Tokiko didn't. But Tokiko was able to summon someone, that monstergirl she called Eve. Were there other girls who could summon creatures or more human-like things? Just how much variety was there when it came to magical girls? It was something she was going to have to think about, wasn't it? After all, every magical girl in the city was now potentially an enemy.

... When she thought about it in that respect, it was actually... a little scary. But there was no way that Hikari would let something like that get to her. She just became a magical girl, and no-one was allowed to actually kill anyone else, so she wasn't going to let herself get scared about something like this! After all, what kind of magical girl would let herself get scared about something this important?! ... Not that she entirely understood why it was important, but the idea of preventing evil energy or whatever from building up made a lot of sense at least.

"Chat room...?"

A chat room for magical girls? For a moment, Hikari was certain she saw something kind of like that in an anime at some point, but she wasn't going to dwell on that fact.

"... Well, I guess I was going that way..." she added, glancing towards Tokiko. It was... weird just walking home after learning about all of this, but what else was there to do? She sort of wanted to check out that chat room, too...

Perhaps most other magical girls would have been a bit more shocked when it came to something like a personal world being impressed on reality. But in Naoko's case, as she glanced across the ruined city, her response was to let out a low, long whistle.

"I heard there were some magical girls who could do this kinda thing," she began, still resting her kanabo on her shoulder, "But I never actually saw one! Awesome!"

She grinned, displaying a pair of fangs.

"Your own world, huh?!"

Still grinning, she raised her weapon off her shoulder. For the moment, it still seemed like Tsukimi was out of the fight, though if she was fully unconscious or just stunned, it was difficult to tell.

The kanabo was pointed squarely at Sonya.

"Like hell I'd surrender."

@The1Rolling1Boy: Yes, you need to be a bit more specific then that. Like, a specific race from Greek mythology or something, or myth.
@The1Rolling1Boy: Marvel doesn't really work as a Concept. If you mean that comic book company, at least, but other wise it's too broad. Archetypes are just... specific things from history and mythology, famous things.
@The1Rolling1Boy: This isn't based off of a specific anime series, so don't worry! And yes you can join.
"My... my phone number?!" exclaimed Hikari after a moment. But really, it didn't take too long for the short girl to realize why she'd been asked. Even if they were potentially going to be enemies, some sort of contact with another magical girl only made sense. Especially when they had fought together, if only for a moment. In spite of this realization, there was no way that Hikari's pride would allow her to act entirely accepting of the outcome, especially when Tokiko had been just has harsh in response.

"... Hmph, I guess hat makes sense..." she half mumbled, reaching towards her bad instinctively... only to realize she no longer had it.

"... Ah? Wait... how do I turn back?!" she cried, looking down at herself. Only now did she realize this was a question rarely answered directly in any sort of magical girl media. They sort of just turned back when they felt like it! That was way too nebulous, wasn't it? Did she just have to think about turning back to normal?!

As it turned out, that was precisely the case. No sooner then Hikari had thought about the need to return to her normal state then she did. In a flash of light, her transformation deactivated, leaving her once again in her school uniform, her hair brown, eyes returned to their normal color, holding her bag.

"... I... guess that's it..."

After a moment, she fished her phone out of her bag and gave her number.

A wish...?

It was a battle for a wish for the purposes of preventing... something from building up, and keeping the skills of the magical girls sharp? That sort of explained why there would be something like a battle between magical girls, but a wish... for a few moments, it was hard for Hikari to decide what to do. While it wouldn't be something to admit to, she'd just gotten a wish of hers, the desire to be a magical girl, fulfilled. Now she was encountered with the idea of a battle to claim a wish, against other magical girls...

What was she supposed to do? What kind of wish could she ask for? Could she wish for anything? It was overwhelming to even think about, and for a few moments the short (current)redhead was unable to make any sort of coherent reply.

Then...

"... This... there's no way I can just give any kind of answer to that sort of thing without thinking about it!" she declared, finally, with a huff. She perhaps said it a little more sharply then intended, but even if the other girl had intervened to save her that didn't mean her attitude wasn't irritating. "But... I can't just... if it's that important there's no way I'm not going to take part!"

Indeed, after some pursuit, it was possible to see just who Tokiko had been talking about. On a distant rooftop, a horned magical girl with a large kanabo resting on her shoulder stood over the prone form of another, shorter girl with a less distinct outfit.

"Haaah, that was such a drag," Sonya could potentially hear, as she got closer, "You got yourself knocked out so I had to run from a fight to save your place in the Hex Night... kinda tempted to smash your orb myself, but we're friends 'n all..."

The oni magical girl's shoulders sagged.

"No way I'd do something two-faced like tha-eh...?"

She looked up, eyes falling on the shape of the approaching girl.

"... Oiii, so someone was followin' us, huh?"

Ciel, the Church Overseer

The Overseer sent by the Church was, perhaps, of a higher caliber in combat prowess then usual. This may have had something to do with the fates of the previous Overseers, though indeed the Fifth War's Overseer had perished in a manner that had not made such a thing matter. Regardless of that fact, they had selected someone very deliberately who could hold her own.

The blue-haired girl sat quietly, mulling over her lack of food and the current situation. She had just been contacted by one of the Masters who had yet to summon a Servant, and said Master had proceeded out back behind the Church to do exactly that. She could expect others to register soon enough, though the Master of Berserker had already verified her summons quite a while ago. For now, she was simply awaiting the others in silence.

Sure enough, one of them arrived. Ciel rose from her feet and approached. It was a silver-haired, waifish girl, alongside a smallish blonde... Swiftly, the white-haired girl clarified that she was Caster.

Both seemed fairly young, but given the nature of magi and Servants... well, Ciel was here as the overseer.

"I see. Then this is your notification of your participation in the War?"
