If you ask me? I have absolutely no idea how MMA applies to a literal mouse.

But yeah, 0Z, i think you'll have to elaborate on the specifics of your character's fire ability: is it exactly how it sounds - just casting flames onto something upon touch? If so, what are the attributes of said flames: size, damage potential, whether they have some fuel to make them last, or do they simply snuff out if they don't contact anything flammable? Stuff like that.

That's all i can suggest without an official judgement from Rilla; keep in mind though that RP fighting requires extensive amount of detail and depth to even work as a competetive enviroment, so your combat posts will end up at at least 5 times the wordcount of your current character sheet bare minimum - if you don't half ass them.
You don't have to put yourself at a disadvantage to be forced to outsmart the opponent. Gunning for a shining victory can take as much effort as being the struggling underdog.

What i'm concerned about is that Buddha's character can get easily supressed to the point that they will have no choice but to go on a complete defensive to just stay in the fight; i think that every character, save for maybe Rindheart, has enough long range potential to keep Buddha's from throwing even a single strike. That's not challenging, that's just absurd and will likely leave anyone sour afterwards.

In the end, Buddha is free to do whatever they wish, as long as it is under tournament regulations - but i definetly think that this experience is going to serve poorly as an introduction to RP fighting.
You'd have to get in first. Doing so without getting crippled, at least, is extreemely unlikely, which means your superior physique will loose its significance as a deciding factor.

Plus, the rest of the competitors have arguably equal close range potential, each and every one wielding some manner of weapon, having varying degrees of armor (but armor nonetheless), and retaining access to elemental tricks.

It's probably not going to be fun for you - i know it wouldn't for me. It's going to be almost too tough to serve as a worthwhile learning experience, even if you are a martial arts nutjob.

Here's another perspective: an RP fight is still tough as balls and most certainly will make you think even when the characters are an even match.
I told you enough to get you thinking in the right direction - that much is true at least. Anything else would be handholding.

Generally speaking, though, anything that works towards limiting the opponent's mobility - and thus, their kiting potential - rather than enhancing your own, has its pretty straightforward uses in offence. That doesn't mean that enhanced mobility doesn't have potential for offence, since superior positioning is an excellent way of keeping up the pressure and slipping in strikes; but it can promote a slightly more passive playstyle.
@Buddha

Speaking as the guy who specifically offered mentorship in hand-to-hand, i'd say you're undeniably underequipped for punching face in context of this tournament's power bracket

Not going to argue about that choice, but i strongly reccomend getting the right tools to counteract everybody else's long range game, at the very least. Otherwise, you'll end up just getting kited and peppered by projectiles in all of your matches, which can teach one and only one thing: the importance of the aformentioned tools.
@BrokenPromise

Some helmets think they can outsmart me.

Maybe. Maybe.

I've yet to see a helmet that can outsmart a knockout punch.
If both of you you find that there's no more point in being polite; furthermore, you find that it's appropriate to insult the rest of the local community; and to make it even worse, you're adamant in what you said and aren't going to go back on your words - then calmly, quietly leaving would be the best thing you can do.

That's all i have to say, and i'll refrain from any further comments.
1. You're both being real ugly right now and nobody cares who started first.

2. Calling an unspecified group of people sheep is probably going to piss off some unspecified people in turn - cause and effect, y'know. Don't go insulting other people over your own damn business, Negatomsk, unless you actually want them to talk back.
Sorry, it's still a work in progress. Hoping we can speed it along and have the CS finished within the next couple days.

As for my own character, i'll be picking ater Robie's is finalized.
@DLL
