"And that's that."

When Jaden was beamed back to The Scather, he barely had time to get back to his quarters when the alert came up. He thought it over a moment. Sure, he'd just came back from a mission, but it was a simple escort that saw him do more sitting than anything. He checked his intercom. Apparently the planet, Karkon, is being attacked by slavers.

"Hm... Wouldn't hurt to throw my hat in the ring." Jaden finally decided. He hadn't even used up any ammo from the first mission, so it was straight to transport. He read the dossier about the mission on the way: A planet inhabited by feline humanoids...

"A furry's wet dream. Nice."

Somehow these attackers were able to make off with entire villages without anyone's notice? That's odd, even if those villages were small at first, surely somebody managed to escape capture and warn the others? He looked up who had already went.

"Let's see... Rabi, who's probably blown up half the planet by now... Brackus... Burnet... Hope he doesn't rob those people while he's saving them. So, it would seem there's more muscle on the venture than anything. Maybe if I got a hold of Burnet, we can try to divine the raiders' methods?"

A plan in progress was better than nothing. Arriving at the transporter, Jaden waved to the technician and explained his interest in the Karkon mission. When the Yardrat indeed appeared to pick him up, Jaden grasped his shoulder.

"I should ask how your people do this." He noted.

Jaden arrived to a room of panicking Karkonites. Holding out a hand, he managed to catch one by the shoulder.

"Hi, I'm Spyder from The Planet Breakers" He introduced himself. "Do you have a moment to explain the situation thus far?"

Hm. I have an idea: What if Jaden just wrapped up another mission or task and is sent over? Would be less jarring than just saying he was always there.

Jaden currently stands at 5'9" and keeps a slim, muscular build. He is mocha-skinned, and keeps his black hair in dreadlocks, with the sides cut into a fade. He prefers to dress in dark clothing, in this case the set of dark-grey battle armor, and mesh slacks and boots. No matter what, he always has shades on.

Personality

There are many things that describe Jaden; Stoic, disciplined, independent, mature, rational. Despite what his father wishes to believe; these are traits Jaden had cultivated within himself.

Jaden is usually a serious young man with an objective mindset, putting logic and rationale ahead of emotions. This often makes him the voice of reason among friends and family. Jaden's sense of self-control and rationale have become a very valued trait

While normally stoic, Jaden is capable of showing emotion, albeit in more subtle ways; smirks, sneers, frowns, snorts, etc. This is especially apparent in Jaden's sarcastic and sardonic sense of humor. Enemies of his are often met with backhanded compliments and flippant remarks. Though, in his younger days this more often confused enemies than enraged them. He is very opinionated, and has little qualms about voicing concerns and criticisms... Often without regard for others' feelings. Lately, he's begun to temper his honesty with tact.

Above all else, Jaden values his individuality, and that of others. In his youth, this was to the point of having a nigh crippling fear of conformity. Regardless, Jaden appreciates the value of cooperation and teamwork. But, one shouldn't be surprised if he's keen to deal with a problem himself before asking others.

Lately, he's begun to entertain his interest in relationships. Though, considering his circumstances, he's not sure where to begin.

Background

Born to a transit foreman and a nurse, and growing up with an older brother, Jaden came from a fairly normal household. However, his environment was anything but normal. Between living in an environment struggling against the criminal element, school infested with delinquents, and the planet itself being attacked by interstellar invaders on and off. Jaden grew more and more anxious that he would be swept up in the mindless violence, one way or another.

And then he saw a certain film that changed his life. In that film, the hero also lived what seemed like a hopeless life: destined to be manipulated by others until his existence was destroyed. But, in studying martial arts, he found mastery in himself. And with that mastery, he broke the limits set by his masters, and in turn inspired others to do the same. So, Jaden strove to master himself, through studying the martial arts.

Problem was, his mother wanted him to study ballet, and his father wasn't willing to "waste money on that Chinese bullocks". So, he was left to study on his own through books and videos. With time, experimentation, and lots of pressure-testing, Jaden began to develop his own fighting system. Soon there was no need to fear the delinquents in his school. In time, the criminals were of no more concern to him, either.

Eventually, he made the difficult decision to leave home and travel east. In his travels, he met a young gunslinger who taught him how to shoot. Then he met an aspiring samurai who tested his resolve. Then he met a young Sikh who showed him how to open his heart. Finally, he found an old tome detailing the power of Ki and how to attune one's spirit to the cosmos. Such a book was a relic of an ancient temple of warrior monks. So, Jaden headed there.

When his travels led him to the temple, the abbot offered him a place, for returning the book. But, this meeting was cut short when the planet was attacked. In helping out in the ensuing battle, Jaden caught the attention of The Planet Breakers. Here, he had to make a choice: He could join the temple, but isolate himself from the world in search of inner peace, or he could join the mercenaries in their bid to bring some semblance of order to the universe.

Meditating on what he learned, Jaden opted for The Planet Breakers. Because peace does not come from avoiding conflict.

Weapons & Techniques/Spells

Weapons

Kriss Vector: A sub machine gun given to Jaden by the gunslinger Desperado. Used as a quicker, more precise means to engage distant targets to compliment his swordplay and Ki techniques. Has three firing modes: Semi-Auto, 3-Shot Burst, and Full-Auto.

Heart Sutra Blade: Jaden's trusted blade, by the Shinkage's trusted sword smith. It's made from high-quality Durasteel and can cut through several types of surfaces up to Durasteel, when Jaden empowers it with his Ki.
