Doc Green

Name
Bruce Banner

Age
35

Character Differences
Doc Green more resembles She-Hulk than the traditional Bruce Banner and Hulk dynamic. Bruce is the dominant persona, with the Hulk persona's savage rage merging with Bruce's own persona when transformed. While Doc Green can grow stronger the more angry he gets, the merging of the two personas has placed a significant "cap" on how strong the Hulk can get. The downside for Bruce fully controlling the Hulk persona: Doc Green isn't capable of reaching the heights the Hulk did. Cosmetically, Doc Green is about half the size of the Hulk, and has managed to retain the beard and hair-style of Bruce Banner. He also tries to wear clothes as much as he possibly can... though finding some that fit is a large ask.

Brief World Background
Earth 59301 // "Desert Earth"

In this amalgamated DC/Marvel Universe, the world at large has become a wasteland. The world's greatest minds, from Ray Palmer to Reed Richards did their best to find a way to reverse the effects of Global Warming, but it was all for naught. In the year 2030, as the world was plagued with various ecological disasters. While Bruce Banner and Tony Stark experimented with cleaner energy sources in an attempt to at least slow down the coming ecological doomsday, Victor von Doom and Lex Luthor came up with another strategy: speed up the process. The Illuminati, consisting of individuals such as Black Bolt, Doctor Doom, Mr. Fantastic, Black Panther, Gorilla Grodd, Bruce Wayne, Lex Luthor, Norman Osborn, and Tony Stark (at the tail end, when convinced his efforts wouldn't solve the problem) worked together to create their own "safe havens" around the world that would house a limited amount of the world population in climate-controlled and shielded environments. They also worked on another plan: create a device that would speed up the effects of global warming in a hope that it the Earth would "reset" itself.

Their efforts didn't exactly work as intended. The disasters became that much more disastrous, and billions died violent deaths due to these incredibly powerful natural disasters. Those who managed to survive, especially those heroes and villains who noticed that some of their counterparts had disappeared while the world needed them most, began searching for the rumored "safe havens." Those heroes and villains who didn't perish in the natural disasters sought refuge within their Safe Havens of choice. However, even as power shifted hands within some of these safe havens, one thing remained the same: free will and knowledge of the Illuminati's plan could not be allowed to circulate. Order needed to be maintained... for humanity's sake. The rest of the world has practically become a desert wasteland.

Brief Character Background
Bruce Banner was born in the mid 1990's, and was not raised in the most healthy environment. His father was an abusive alcoholic who constantly tormented his son. Despite the years of abuse, Bruce did everything he could to study hard. He was admitted to MIT when he was sixteen to study nuclear physics, as he believed that the solution to clean energy lied in nuclear power. It was here that Bruce got in touch with Professor Igor Starsky and fellow student Walter Langkowski. The three formed an intellectual trio incredibly interested in the potential of gamma radiation. The three ended up accepting a government contract to work at Desert Base in New Mexico, working on a gamma device. The device was intended to be an alternative power source, but 8 years of work yielded no results. General Ross, the CO of Desert Base, secretly met with Dr. Starsky to discuss the possibility of retooling the device into a weapon. Starsky ultimately agreed, and he set to work on developing the weapon.

Langkowski, after discovering what Dr. Starsky had agreed to, protested the decision for a time before relenting to continue working on the project. Bruce, on the other hand, never bothered to protest as he knew that he needed Starsky's expertise in the future. Of course, Bruce's life would be forever changed by this. He found himself working late one fateful night, picking up a shift from Starsky last minute. When he entered the chamber with the device that night, he found irregular readings. It turned out that Langkowski was attempting to get revenge on Starsky by tampering with the device. Of course, Bruce was the one who found himself exposed to high levels of Gamma Radiation. The Hulk was born.

For some time, Bruce Banner's story was one of a man tormented by his inner monster. He rampaged through the Southwestern United States for years, until one fateful encounter with Charles Xavier and the X-Men. While Charles' X-Men were keeping the Hulk distracted, Xavier delved into the beast's mind to find and confront Bruce Banner. Together, the two managed to bring Bruce's persona to the forefront once again and establish mental blocks to help Bruce maintain control over his alter-ego. Together, the two could form Doc Green and Bruce could control his angry outbursts to become a positive member of society once again. With the coming ecological crisis, Bruce reached out to famed inventor Tony Stark offering his expertise with gamma radiation to find a clean energy solution.

The two worked together until "The Event" in late 2030. Bruce helped Stark create a more powerful arc reactor that made use of gamma radiation. Of course, while Bruce hoped that this would be used to save the world, Stark ended up having a different idea. Instead of commercializing the device, Stark used the reactor to help power Luther and Doom's device. When the event happened, Bruce found himself in Malibu enjoying a vacation. When the earthquakes hit and began splitting California away from the rest of the U.S., Doc Green and other heroes rushed in to help minimize the damage. Despite their efforts, over a billion people died in the span of two weeks.

Bruce began to put the pieces together when Stark reached out to offer the esteemed physicist a spot in his own personal paradise in Las Vegas. Call it ego or personal responsibility, but Doc Green decided to answer Stark's invitation. Once inside Stark's safe haven, the scientist let his rage seethe to its greatest extent. He managed to storm his way into Tony's personal tower, beating away Stark's drone Iron Man suits, until he got the chance to square off against Iron Man himself. Tony had prepared for this contingency, and had designed a Hulkbuster suit powered by the same gamma-arc reactor that the two geniuses had designed. Doc Green got his ass handed to him easily, and his last memory was of being flown out of Earth's atmosphere by the suit and left to die in the vast coldness of space.

Of course, Mojo couldn't let such a specimen go to waste.

Malibu, California - During Season 1's Crisis

"I'll just be straight with you, Count... Xylophone? Xenomorph?"

Tony had a familiar smug grin as he leaned backwards on the couch, staring at the leader of the revolutionary government in Vlatava. He was savoring a glass of whiskey in the living room of his luxurious Malibu mansion, while his guest stiffened in his chair. "Zytle. Werner Zytle."

Tony rolled his eyes, waving his glass of whiskey as he continued. "Right, Zytle. Look, I'm a busy man, so let's keep this simple. I know someone is selling you Stark tech. And even if I'm not the CEO, you must be really dense if you thought I'm going to sit here while you use weapons that don't belong to you." Zytle did not appear to be amused or intimidated, and instead stared blankly as Tony took a sip of his whiskey before continuing. "So here's what we are going to do: You are going to tell me who is selling you and your rebels my tech, and I won't send Iron Man to kill you and your zealots."

Werner nodded his head, as if to weigh his options. He readjusted the ring on his left ring finger slightly, a smile forming on his lips. "I don't believe you understand the situation you are in, Mr. Stark. I came here to California because I knew you would want to speak with me and threaten me. Your arrogance, however... that will be your downfall."

Tony wasn't in a mood for threats. He set the glass down, smiling slightly as he opened his mouth. But as Tony tried to call out to JARVIS, he found he couldn't speak. And he found he couldn't move. Tony's eyes focused in on Werner, who was smiling as he continued twisting his ring. He moved from the chair to take a seat next to Stark, and whispered. "JARVIS, disable all security protocols."

Without a single moment of hesitation, Tony repeated him. "JARVIS, disable all security protocols." Werner smiled at this and stood up, walking out of view. Tony struggled, his heartbeat picking up as he found he had no control over his body or words. All he could do was sit there and listen to the door to his workshop open. After quite a bit of silence, the thunking of heavy footsteps could be heard coming from the downstairs workshop.

Tony watched in disbelief as Werner approached in the Mark Seven, with the helmut open and a smile on his face. The Mark Seven was by far the largest suit of armor, as it was built to be more of a strong tank than an agile weapon system. Werner smiled for a moment as he whispered something and the suit opened, allowing the revolutionary to step closer to Tony and chuckle. "I'm sorry that it needs to end this way, Tony. But I need to borrow this, and I can't have you hunting me down." Werner slowly unbuttoned Tony's shirt until his chest was exposed. Glowing in the center of his chest was an arc reactor, which the Count gripped on to and twisted. With a swift yank, the arc reactor was unplugged from the circuitry in Tony's chest. Werner gave a small nod as he placed it in his pocket and stepped back into the Mark Seven suit.

Tony didn't remember seeing Werner walk out of his house, or bash his way out of the front door. Tony's vision was practically all dark as breath didn't come easily. His chest was on fire, and he couldn't get enough breath to actually speak as he felt himself regain control over his body. Tony simply cradled his hands over the hole in his chest where the arc reactor used to be as he felt the small pieces of shrapnel in his chest moving with every attempt to breath. The last thing he heard was the sound of jets flying overhead and the rotors of a helicopter whirring nearby. Then, the world went dark.

Does Bruce have the ability to revert to his human body or is he permanently in this smaller Hulk form?

That's a good question. I would prefer he have the ability to revert back into his normal form for the sake of being able to "blend in" to other realities. But I honestly feel comfortable having that vetoed and him being stuck as "Doc Green" since that is more in line with the comics.

Gave these sheets an update, and hopefully that addresses the concerns raised. At the very least, it was a fun challenge nonetheless.
Well, here's Roy's Season 2 Sheet now that his epilogue is finally taken care of. @Lord Wraith

Washington D.C. - 1 Month Post-Crisis
Issue 1.02.04: Sure Shot (Season 1 Epilogue)

Interaction(s): None
Previously: Crisis Tie-In

Roy looked down on the sheet of paper in his hands. It had been some time since he had done this cloak and dagger shit… but whoever managed to sneak a sheet of paper without getting noticed into his quarters at the Triskellion. The message had printed simply a time, an address for an apartment complex in D.C., a request to meet on the roof, and a single name. Oliver. To be safe, of course, Roy was dressed in his tactical gear and had his weapon drawn as he slowly began climbing the stairs. That is, until he heard an explosion from outside. Harper’s pace quickened as he rocketed upstairs and out of the roof access door. On the roof was nothing… except for a single arrow of Roy’s own design lying near the precipice. A look over the ledge revealed a terrible sight: on the streets below was a burnt and charred car, and lying on his back in the middle of the street was SHIELD Director Jeffrey Mace.

Roy took a moment to watch on in shock, before everything began to click in his head. Across the street was a nondescript antiques store, with apartments above. It was a SHIELD safehouse. Though, of course… whoever had just assassinated Jeffrey Mace knew that. And the assassin must have also stolen some of his supplies. Of course, before Roy could do anything more, he heard shouting from below. A few SHIELD agents had gathered around Mace’s corpse, checking for a sign of life. The other agents had easily noticed the red clad figure standing on the rooftop up above, and immediately began opening fire.

Roy made the only decision he could at this point: he ran. He managed to vault over the other side of the building and down the fire escape of the apartments he was perched upon with ease. He used the alleyway to quickly slip out onto the street, and noticed an empty cab waiting at the red light at the intersection. Roy sighed as he could practically hear the SHIELD agents shouting as they were moving in to intercept. The scarlet archer unholstered his sidearm as he reached for the handle of the back passenger door: to his luck, it was unlocked. He threw the door open, got in quickly, and pointed the gun towards the driver. ”Drive casually. I need to get to East Potomac Park. Now!”

As if on cue, the light turned green and the cab eased into normal traffic as SHIELD agents looked around, confused. Roy holstered his sidearm and quickly pulled out a small flip phone, pressing number 1 for speed dial. The phone rang three times, before a familiar voice picked up on the other end. ”Roy? What the Hell? It’s been years! Oliver’s miss-“

”John, I don’t have time to explain. I need a cloaked quadjet at East Potomac Park ASAP, you should be able to ping my location using the old Arrow protocols.” Roy paused for a moment to breath and to clear his head for a second. ”I’m fucked, John. Ollie’s alive… and the people who know where he is are trying to wipe me out. So for the love of God, hurry the fuck up!”

Washington D.C. - 24 Hours Later

Fury gripped the podium and looked out over the crowd gathered in the Triskellion briefing room. The murmurings were intense, but silenced as soon as Nick Fury opened his mouth to speak. ”24 hours ago, Director Jeffrey Mace was visiting a now defunct SHIELD safehouse here in the capitol. The purpose of his visit was classified.” Nick paused as the reporters in the room began murmuring again, impatient with the lack of answers and information. When he continued, the room fell silent. ”I am here to publicly announce that Jeffrey Mace was assassinated as of 3:14 PM yesterday afternoon while exiting the safehouse.” Fury again paused, but no one dared to speak. ”The assassination was carried out by an individual who fired a single explosive projectile at the motorcade awaiting Jeffrey Mace. A thorough autopsy this morning confirmed that Director… Former Director Mace died on impact.”

The reporters went wild at this. They began shouting over each other, until a grizzled older reporter managed to shout over all the others. ”Do you have any suspects?”

Fury gave a thoughtful nod at this, and ignored the barrage of other questions being slung in his direction. He reached towards a small remote on the podium and pressed a single button, which turned on two screens to either side of the small stage Fury was standing on. The screens seemed to show a bodycam still image taken from one of the SHIELD agents on the scene. The image showed a figure on a nearby rooftop. With another tap on the remote, the slide transitioned to a close-up shot of a figure clad in red with a quiver strapped to his back. ”Our preliminary findings suggest that the assassin was a former SHIELD agent of ours and temporary contractor who used the codename ‘Arsenal’ while in our employ. This individual fought in the Middle East as a contracted Mercenary for the United States government before being recruited by SHIELD. He had a spotless record, and earned an honorable discharge after surviving the incident on-board the UNN Aeneid some months ago in Italian air-space. He was recruited temporarily as an engineering contractor, before being mobilized to New York City during the Mutant Supremacy Front attacks.”

The reporters seemed just as dumbfounded as Fury, given by their silence when he paused. But Nick pushed ahead, and tapped the remote once more to reveal the suspect’s former SHIELD headshot.

”The suspect’s real name is Roy Harper. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.”

Alright, well, for story purposes, I need everyone to have been on Earth (or an ark where Earth formerly was, I suppose) when their abduction took place. So if you could work that in, that'd be great. Shouldn't change too much of the concept so long as the Skulls maintain control of Earth orbit, etc. Sort of like Agent of SHIELD's fifth season plot with the Kree.

I also have to admit, I'm on the fence about accepting a Hulk concept. I want to let you know now so there's time to submit a different proposal if you would prefer. Right now I'm not sure how I feel about the viability of a true Hulk in a group that will be together indefinitely. It's not the same as him making frequent Avengers appearances in comics or the team-ups over the years. It'll be an ongoing, nearly inseparable group format. I think if it was more of a Professor Hulk or Joe Fixit-esque concept I could see it being more viable, and I know I would be okay with a She-Hulk. But, while I like the concept itself, I'm just not entirely sure that a full-blown Hulk who is the dominant personality would work well for this.

I haven't made a decision one way or the other yet, as I said just want to let you know my current thoughts long before the app deadline. If you have further ideas for the concept and want to ask me about them directly, feel free to DM me.

I'll do some re-writes sometimes this week, and DM you if I have any questions. Thanks for the feedback ahead of time.

Interesting concepts. A question about the Captain's world, though. Was the entire Earth destroyed and the survivors are on a Skrull world now?

Gotta fix up that sheet later. I think the plan was that Steve is surviving on a Skrull world, and the rest of humanity is stuck on an "ark" of sorts floating in space. Not much of humanity left.

Steve is one of the only humans left in Skrull captivity. There's a chance there could be more... And those that are left are in a precarious position. Not a great reality to be stuck in.
