Morris' senses in this form are far more powerful than any normal human being, which also includes night vision. Unlike the creatures from horror films, Morris is not weak against silver bullets, but his form is not invincible and if he takes too much damage then he will revert back to his human form. Also being knocked unconscious will revert him back to his human form and make him vulnerable. Intense exhaustion will also cause him to slowly change back into his human form.

Personality/Habits | Morris is a good kid who wants to do right, but his powers makes his temper flare when pushed too far. In his wolf form he loses a lot of control over his emotions and becomes more violent and angry, which can make him a danger to others if he isn't focusing on keeping his forum under control. His powers have made him a somewhat of a loner out of fear of hurting others and despite being bullied on occasions at school, Morris tries as hard as he can to keep his anger in check so he doesn't kill any of his follow students.

Background | Morris was born to a lower middle class family in New Haven and for as he could remember both of his parents had to work to keep the food on the table and get the bills paid. Because of this, many days saw Morris coming home to an empty house when he became old enough to stay home alone. His school life was rough and there were lots of bullies looking to pick on more vulnerable students. Morris was the kind of kid who would stand up for himself and try to stand up for other kids. this got him into several altercation with a few of the bullies.

Things changed for him when he got jumped by some local goons on Halloween night. He had been Trick R Treating while both of his parents worked late that day and while pulling a nice sized quantity of candy Morris was jumped by several neighborhood teenage thugs. They had wanted his candy and would have stolen it from him had he not felt his anger flare up to an insane level and then he felt intense pain as his body transformed for the first time into what only could be described as a werewolf.

With ferocious snarl he scared the goons away and grabbed one of them with his sharp claws and flung him into several garbage cans. In his state of rage and animalistic mentality Morris left his candy behind and leaped onto rooftops and began to run across the roofs of the city at rapid pace. eventually his anger died down and he changed back to normal and found himself dressed back in his Halloween. It took him a long time to find his candy bag again and it was very late when he got home. Thankfully his parents hadn't gotten back yet so he wouldn't have to explain what had happened.

Morris knew that this meant he was a Variant, a superhuman with incredible powers. He wondered if he could control his new found form and decided to test out his new powers when his parents were away and he found a place with very people to see him transform. his few transformations had him be in almost full control while in his new form, but the emotions and sheer animal instinct within the werewolf was hard to keep under control, but he was able to do it.

it wasn't too long after that he realized with his powers he could become a vigilante and fight crime while his parents were away at work. Despite being twelve years old, no would suspect that he was the ferocious beast known as Nightwolf.

This can cause him to become distracted and makes him multitask. It also makes being in large crowds disorientating and forces him to concentrate on keeping his senses from wandering.

Personality/Habits | James has a large sense of duty to keep order in the city by solving cases. He has eyes for a mystery and solving a case. James tries to approach situations from a rational and logical perspective instead of an emotional one. He believes that law enforcement should focus on practicality and rational solutions instead of emotional and sentimental ones.

Many have called him apathetic, but he doesn't call refer to himself in that way and just views that statement as something people call him from a place of emotion. James believes that Variants should use their powers to the best of their abilities to make their lives better without turning to crime.

James also prefers local law enforcement and his very suspicious of federal government agencies.

Background | James was born in New Haven in the Ville Rouge district, to a upper middle class family. His father was a doctor and his work kept the family's wealth in good shape. His father was good man who viewed his job a noble cause and loved helping people. James however never had any interest in the career of a doctor, no he always preferred things like detective work. When he was a little he read lots of detective stories and watched many detective movies. His favorite birthday present was when his parents bought him an expensive detective's kit with all of the tools needed to try and hone detective skills of his own.

When James had started high school he developed an interest in philosophy as well as become an avid reader of the Sherlock Holmes novels. It was around this time that his Variant ability activated and he discovered that his ability to pick up on very minor details had become inhuman and he quickly put this good use helping him solve cases as a Private Investigator and had great success.

When he went to collage he studied in philosophy as well as forensics and criminal psychology. In his study of philosophy James developed a strong belief in individualism mixed with an equally strong belief in logic and rationalism. Once he was out of college he went through the process of becoming a detective for the New Haven Police Department.

Some in the department thought that it would be a good idea to have a variant be a part of the police force as a sign of good faith with the variant population in the city. Once he became a real detective James saw himself helping solve many cases throughout the city, some even jokingly called him 'the world's greatest detective'

Even as a member of the New Haven police department James still chose to take an alias and used the name Atlas when dealing criminals.
