@DarkspleenOf course I am interested to join to a space NRP. Any plotbunnies or setting outlines we should know? Discord channel to discuss? I have several faction ideas at hand which I can switch on demand. The intro seems to imply a sorts of "first contact" type of affair.
@BCTheEntity@POOHEAD189I am here, but kind of distracted between four NRPs. I might prioritize finishing my NS here instead of the one which stalled for two weeks now. I can't promise an IC today but at least you have a preview to the glorious Uruk Empire.
@CycloneAny reason why this game is sleeping for nearly two weeks now? The activity just suddenly fizzled out. Anyways, I do plan to post my finished NS today.
Thanks for all the interest you guys have shown. I'll make a interest check for the sol concept okay?
Never joined the discussion so I have no clue, does it make the game a sorta "hard sci-fi" near future instead of an outright space adventure like most of these games? I am thinking something like the Expanse's setting or perhaps even looser usage of the term "hard sci-fi", of course.
Phew, now I have an excuse to work on my NS for this game. Yllendthyr is in here, just in case you were wondering. And did I seriously miss something? Because I thought Serp would be making this game.
Sesteion is a gigantic city with centuries of history. It used to be the crown jewel of the Kenteiros Empire but after the civil war it gained independence and complete autonomy. Ever since then the two remnants the southern Sesteion and their northern peers went on a different route with the city state giving its all on culture and enlightenment. Just as the Kenteiros Empire the overwhelming majority of the city's population are Yppoloi, more commonly refered as centaurs. While owning a relatively large piece of land it isn't an exaggeration to say that Sesteion is mostly just the city with over 90% of the population living in it. The rural lands are mostly used for hunting, herding and agriculture. Sesteion is famous throughout the continent for its rich culture and their scholars. Sesteians are known to be great educators. They founded the first universities and even now it's rare to hear about a place of learning in Albion without a Sesteian centaur among its members. Scholars also often wander the world in search of wisdom, teaching people to earn their keep for the night. That being said just like their warlik northern brethren the Sesteians should not be underestimated in battle. Being half horse and half man they have ferocious strength that belies their calm intelligent nature. Demonym: Yppolo (pl: Yppoloi), Centaur/Kentaur, Sesteian (when referring specifically to centaurs from Sesteion)
Government
Sesteion is ruled by a direct theocratical democracy. Every househead owned the right and outright duty to vote and aside from electing representatives and officials they could also directly influence major decisions during the vote in the assembly. It's considered theocratical since the Kentoios religion is the pillar of Yppoloi culture and as a result only members of the priesthood of Kentoios could be voted as officials. In a quite indirect fashion the religion also had control over everything within the city. The priesthood's leadership undeniably have a constant influence on the leaders, no matter who they are. Education and research are also in the hands of the priesthood.
Demographics
The current population of Sesteion is estimated around 7,800,000. 90% of these are living in the city Sesteion while most of the rest live in rural areas as hunters, herders and farmers. While few their contribution to sustain the city is not forgotten and while due to the distance they can't always participate in votes, they get specifically notified when there's a major occasion. As said the overwhelming majority of the population are Yppoloi AKA centaurs. This vastly influenced everything starting from the buildings to the layout of the city and even something as simple as doors.
Yppolo (plural: Yppoloi) is a half-man and half-horse creature. They are about 1.8-.2.4m tall and about 2-2.5m long. Their weight at average is between 250-400kg. This puts them roughly on par with a medium sized pony horse.
