I'm sure I've mentioned this before but Spanish is my first language. When I visited Spain for the first time years ago, I stayed at a cousin's house for the 5 days I was there. I noticed I was naturally picking up their "lispy" accent towards the end of my visit, and when I returned home it stayed with me for a few days. I was a tad embarrassed because I didn't want people to think I was being stuck up or anything, but I just couldn't drop it on my own.

I wonder if the same thing happens to, let's say Americans, when they visit a place like the UK or Australia.

Time to go on a rant!

Heck ticks me off if used in a phrase such as "what the heck?". If you don't default to hell, then I hope your spleen explodes. I mean, aside from the overly-religious, why do you have to stick to heck? Hell is not a terrible word, it isn't even bad. Let your kid say it. Kids can curse, it's fine. They're only words. It's bad if they use words to hurt others, but if my 9 year old stubs their toe and curses, I'd laugh then remove their shoe to check, no harm done. Big difference between the two.

People always have and will continue to baby their kids this way, and it's annoying. Anyway, my opinion.

I'm a lot better, thanks. It seems my situation worsens overnight, but as soon as I get up and wash my face I feel better. I went to work today, so that's a start.

On another note, I'm currently hooked on watching any movie or show starring Jared Harris that holds enough of my interest. I saw the first episode of The Terror yesterday, and I plan on finishing the series.
