Bio

1. I'm in school to become a physical therapist assistant!

2. I will quit any roleplay that has been inactive IC for one month for any reason. I've been in too many Schrodinger's RP's and I'm not doing that anymore.

I'll try to make a post Saturday morning. Maaaybe Friday. If it doesn't happen by Sunday evening, you have my full permission to go on without me. Thanks for waiting - part-time job keeps giving me full-time hours. >_<
Jeri

Jeri felt a little bit of a chill as the ghost latched onto her, like a single shiver running up her... spine? She probably had a spine... The Dunsparce watched a few of her teammates approach the giant, certainly cold puddle and sighed. Camping is fun when you expect it, but it sucks to be suddenly dropped into a dangerous wilderness. Jeri took in a breath to brace herself before testing out the water.

But before she could do that, Ravi yelled out. Jeri looked up to see Celina rushing toward a swarm of black birds. Zombiemon, maybe?

"Don't be stupid!" Jeri called out, though Celina was probably too high up to even hear her sage advice. Dangit! They hadn't even been awake for ONE hour, and now there might be even more random things trying to kill them? The Dunsparce's drill tail twitched as an indignant rage began to build up inside her.

Jeri looked around her and then back up to the cave.

"The rest of us'll hafta not be morons and stick close together," Jeri huffed. "Try to find cover so you can see them but they can't see you. If they come too close, run back to the cave. Bein' alive is more important than bein' frickin heroes."

Jeri

Jeri snorted as she finally awoke to a loud sound. She was... trapped in a hole. She couldn't feel her arms and legs, and-- after the first few seconds, the memory of Jeri's predicament came flooding back. The Dunsparce muttered a curse under her breath as she mentally prepared for the stupidest day of her life.

Jeri crawled out of her sleeping hole and stretched out her sore tail. If there was anything good about this body, it seemed to be much more flexible than her admittedly stocky human body. While it was a strength, she'd have to quickly get used to a whole new combat style with these different abilities.

Speaking of different abilities... Jeri inched toward the rest of the group just as the bird flew off. The Dunsparce joined them in observing their surroundings as they prepared to leave the cave, now that the weather was better.

"We're gonna hafta learn to fight together if there's gonna be more ghost Pokémon on the way," Jeri remarked. "Whoever can fly should stay in the air. Lots of us have sharp claws or tails, so that's good. Maybe we should have partners to fight and strategize, keep track of each other - might give us a bit of an edge." Jeri's eyes briefly fell on Nathan and then looked away. How the heck was an acorn supposed to fight? Then she looked at Trevor.

"Charmander can breathe fire, right? Might be best to fight from a distance if they're zombies. Can anyone else do that?"

Ty groaned as a repetitive high-pitched sound broke through his peaceful slumber. Half-awake, he robotically moved his hand to hit the snooze button, only to start when the alarm clock felt a lot softer than he expected. His brown eyes flew open to find his hand resting on the forehead of an equally baffled Igglybuff.

"Sorry, bro," Ty mumbled. "Old habit." The trainer then proceeded to pull his blanket up a little higher and try to go back to sleep. But within a few minutes, Medic managed to convince her groggy trainer to get up earlier on this momentous day, as he had told her to do.

Ty rushed through the shower, quickly clothed himself, and spent a good twenty minutes styling his hair. Hunk the Timburr joined his trainer by the mirror, making sure his log had just the right amount and size of splinters to look a little more menacing than usual. As usual, Reaper crossed his bladed arms in impatience, occasionally hissing a complaint to the Igglybuff next to him.

By the time the group reached the cafeteria, a few other trainers were hanging out there. Ty recognized most of them from the evening before. He frowned slightly, wondering if they were still okay with him after he asked about their wild story and then failed to come up with a good, friendly response to all the drama they had gone through. But, the only certain way to fail is to never try.

The leather-clad trainer chose a table next to Sophia's, hoping to strike up a conversation but willing to eat alone if she didn't want to. He took a sip from his large cup of coffee and passed some bowls of food around to his Pokémon.

"Mornin'," Ty casually addressed Sophia. "You still want to do that contest in Vareena? I've seen some contests, but I've never participated myself."
Are we still limited to knowing four moves at a time?
I'm ok with a time skip. Jeri would spend some time trying to build a barrier. But her form is young and she's never had a tail before, so she could only do so much before she'd get tired.
UGH. I'm getting a vibe from Ravi of neurotic forced optimism that painfully reminds me of myself. Part of me wants to hug him and tell him it's okay if things aren't okay. Aaaand part of me is waiting eagerly for the far-off dramatic moment when he completely loses his cool.

In any case,@SleepingSilence keep up the good work that makes me cringe in a good way.
Heyo. Thanks for keeping my seat warm for me. My second job has settled into a more predictable schedule, so I might be able to post more consistently.

Fortunately, Jeri couldn't have done anything to help fight the zombiedoof, anyway.

Oh wait... that's actually quite UNfortunate...
Jeri

Jeri listened to the others discuss some kind of ghost attack. She felt a little awkward about joining the conversation... like she didn't deserve to weigh in on a battle she didn't fight. Look, she was totally willing and able to fight a ghost beaver. But somebody had to tend to the fire, and her snake-like body just couldn't join the fray as quickly as a bird.

Anyway, she hadn't just sat there, mouth agape, doing absolutely nothing. The Dunsparce turned her head to look back at the shallow groove, the slowly growing pile of mud and pebbles she had dug up to start forming a protective windblock around the fire. She made a motion akin to swiveling her ankles, and the tip of her tail began to rotate again. Apparently, this weird critter's tail was a drill. Who knew?

With her tail tired and caked with mud, Jeri inched closer to the group and the growing fire. She suspiciously eyed all the unfamiliar fruits and eventually settled on a familiar raspberry. But instead of sweet and tangy, this red bumpy berry tasted spicy. Jeri enjoyed it, thinking nostalgically about her favorite Mexican restaurants at home. Then she nearly gagged as she reached the berry's bone-dry core. The few seconds of enjoyment passed, and now Jeri was back to scowling in a cold, damp hellworld.

"Ok," Jeri replied to Nathan with a little bite in her tone, "but WHY would they not bring stronger Pokémon? You said some of us can't even hurt these things! Whadda they expect us to do? Unless... we were brought here to be a sacrifice, after all..."

Jeri narrowed her eyes at the stormy horizon. Then she turned toward Trevor with a more serious, determined look.

"What do we need to do to train? How can we grow into a fighting team as soon as possible?"

I think I've done all I really need to before the timeskip. If it comes to a point where you're solely waiting on me, don't delay the skip on my account. Just try not to leave me too far in the dust the next day.
