A grin spread across Erebus' hidden face as the woman showed off her badge. He was now fully convinced that his initials suspicions had been correct.

"Oh I thought I recognized you, you're one of those new superheroes aren't you" Erebus exclaimed feigning star struck excitement "I have to tell you I feel so much safer already knowing that you're around. Now uh, about the helmet" Erebus tapped two fingers against the side of his head for emphasis "I must admit I really would rather leave it on you see I was in an accident some while ago and"

Erebus cut off his sentence abruptly, trying and failing to suppress a laugh.

"Sorry about that" he said, his tone at once dropping any of the excitement that it had previously held as he stood straight and struck a more confident pose, taking a step closer to the woman "but I never was a very good liar, The helmet is staying on, it would give away the game if I took it off now"
Erebus laughed, a cold unnatural sound when filtered.

"No I'm afraid the helmet will have to stay, I assure you I have" he glanced around the alley and took a few idles steps "Though if you let me know what it is you're looking for I'd be more than happy to help, though I feel I should let you know there were some police hanging around here earlier, could be something dangerous"
Erebus watched from the roof of one of New Tokyo's many high rises as the last of the the officers and investigators trickled out of the alley, they hadn't found anything, they never did, he made damn well sure of that. It was foolish to return to the scene of the crime, Erebus knew that, but he took too much joy in watching them comb over the scene again and again, looking for any clue, any crumb of information; and, he was quick to remind himself, on the off chance that they ever did find something it was better he be there to deal with it immediately.

A man walking by on the street below happened to glance up, funny little people thought to look up, even in a city as vertical as this, and and gave Erebus a quick wave. Erebus acknowledged him with a nod as the man below went along his way, Erebus had never understood the powered criminals who went about in big flashy costumes, so much easier to pass unnoticed in his motorcycle leathers.

Erebus stood there a moment taking in the site of the city skyline in the hot night air, he turned to leave as movement near the alley drew his gaze downwards once more. A young woman walked into the alley, she didn't look like police but she was examining the scene more closely than your average passerby would. With mild interest Erebus watched her conduct her search, poking through the alley, until she suddenly hid herself among the shadows.

Another young woman who looked about the same age as the first, though not likely a friend from her reaction, started conducting her own search. With a start Erebus realized he recognized this newcomer, One of the governments new sponsored heroes, he remembered seeing her on tv at some point, but couldn't recall what her name was, only that her powers had something to do with light manipulation.

"Well, looks like things are finally getting interesting" Erebus said to no one but himself, though out loud nonetheless.Stepping back into the shadow of the roof top exit Erebus vanished, appearing fractions of a second later behind the woman he recognized as a hero.

"Hello" he said, his voice stretched and metallic thanks to his helmet "are you looking for something?"
Erebus flickered into existence in a dark alleyway, only a few feet away from a New First National armored car, continueing to make its way down the street none the wiser that its cargo was now significantly lighter. His hands rested on the shoulder of his two associates, he didn't know there names, he like it better that way. In there hands they held duffel bags full of hard drives, loaded with the Coin data of some rich old bastard who was probably too old fashioned or paranoid to trust transferring such vast wealth digitally.

"Go" Erebus ordered, his voice low and distorted by his mask "Drop the coins where we agreed and you'll get you're clean payments in a week, try to to take any and I will find you" he slowly grew a writhing mass of tentacles from the darkness behind him as he spoke, ensuring that his warning would hit home.

The other two gave a curt nod and ran off down the alley, Erebus stood and watched them as they departed, a smiling of satisfaction spreading beneath his helmet.
Danke :)
A general idea about the setting would be appreciated
Same boat as Rin, I like slice of life, though a little more info would be appreciated
Haha, oh that is awesome, I love his smug little smirk
Sounds good to me, we definitely have to do something with it, their powersets clash too nicely not to.
A light manipulator with a taste for fortune huh, hey Parteebear what would you think of having a pre-existing rivalry between Lumineer and Erebus, seems like it would be a pretty good fit.
