Yes, things were complicated. I apologize for my absence, I assure you such matters have been taken care of and it will not happen again. John looked up at the group of workers that were attending to the hole in the entrance of the building. He glanced at Bart when he was told to keep an eye on them. Do you not trust the people you hired? It wouldn't be good to hire people you dont trust to build the front door to your home. John would wait for a response before continuing.

I have no issue giving them a hand. Construction was my profession for a time. I dont have much to do but I do have a favor to ask. You see, I haven't actually spent time with other guild members aside from Talia. If you have a quest on the board that fits my expertise then let me know please. I'm jot shy for a fight either so if that's all that is available then I don't mind taking it.

John then secured his tool belt and walked over to a group of workers carrying lumber for the entrance. He helped carried it across to the others. It wasnt exciting work or any kind of adventure but John was actually comfortable in this kind of setting. Being able to help others build reminded him of when he was younger building houses for his small town. He would be sure not to get to comfortable though. Keeping an eye on these workers was his priority and his eyes could spot any fault in their construction.

Yea. The issues in my life have been resolved.
(Sorry for such a long break. I've been going through a lot over the past months.)

After a long day of working on building a barn, John took it easy for the remainder of the evening and found himself going to bed rather early. In the following morning, John woke up rather early and found himself in the forge tending to a weapon he was still working on. A hot forge filled with steam and fire was not normally a place one would want to find themselves in the early morning just before dawn but it was as much a place of comfort to John than his bed. Here he could work away his frustrations as he pounded away at hot metal to forge the shape he desired. Though it was not a new weapon John was working on or even a new weapon. The weapon before John was incomplete, a traditional longsword missing half of its blade.

John rested his hands on the work bench with his head hanging over the blade. His sweat gleaming off his face and on to the floor. He straightened his posture and grabbed the handle of the blade. Try to work this time will you. He stated before holding up in front of him. He breathed in for a moment before focusing on the sword. The blade began to glow a faint translucent orange. Not long after, a small flame erupted from the sword. He smiled slightly at the progress though it was quickly diminished as the blade cracked. He quickly set the blade down on the counter. Making a blade magic was one thing, but fixing a broken blade and enabling it to keep its magic properties was difficult for John. He reached for a cloth and wiped his forehead before exiting the forge.

Glancing up at the rising sunlight, he sighed. I need to spend more time in public. He had the idea to check the board for any jobs that may require his skill set. Hopefully there just might be.
I apologize for my absence. Been tough emotionally in my personal life. I wont go into details but I will be posting this week.
May I get a recap please?

My jobs slow season is coming so I'll start to be more available. I just would like a recap of what's happened so I may make an appropriate post.
I literally just make stuff.

Magic stuff, but just stuff.
Sorry about that snip and not being able to post, been working 72 hours a week this summer and I've been using my only day off to sleep. Just got off work and did that post real quick. I apologize for the poor quality. I'm still here though.
"You misunderstand, friend. I didn't invite Talia here. She came here because of other circumstances." said Bart. "Besides, it's not like we can't use two blacksmiths. You are more than welcome here, John. I invited you after all, didn't I?"

"Anyway, I already found some people to work on the entrance so don't worry about that. And we'll keep an eye out for your package. Make sure it comes to you." Bart continued as he led you to the dining hall. "Thanks for working on the stable too. In fact, I was thinking of erecting a wall around our guild. Not a tall one, just to show the limits of our land and territory. Think you can do that with our Cyclops friend?"

"And you're uncomfortable with monsters? Well, I hope that wouldn't cause you too much trouble because maybe half of us consists of monsters."

I suppose I could help with the wall. Do you have any schematics written out or anything or do you need me to do that? Also, will there be a certain material you want implemented into the wall?"

John paused for a moment. It might be best to just wait. It's only been a day and john was certainly not yet accustomed to his new home. It was still strange and the wide array of monsters did not help to ease his mind. Though what worried John was that Bart dodged his question about his talents in making magical equipment. This could have simply been a case of paranoia from John however.

I'll see to it that things get done, might take another job or two on the board tomorrow. I'll see how things go. I just have one question though. I dont know where my room is. I have no idea about the layout of this place."

John followed Bart inside. He waved goodbye to Talia for now before walking off. Well Bart, I got to admit, I'm a little uncomfortable here at the moment. I never really encountereda monster or anything and the descriptions I'm getting aren't exactly inviting. John paused for a moment as he sat down. I haven't been up to much Bart. Just helping Talia make a stable for the horses. Also, if you didn't find anyone to fix that hole out front, I can do it. As far as what I've been up to outside of this place, I couldn't risk taking some of my things on the road incase someone tried to rob me. I'm working on a magic weapon and I'm having it mailed here so I can finish it later. It's gonna take a bit to get here but I would prefer it sent directly to what ever room is now mine. John again paused. There was something he had meant to be asking. He thought about for a long enough time that it might cause a bit of concern.

You know Bart. I've been thinking for most of the day now. Why did you ask me to come along? I'm not a warrior or fighter, you guys already have a blacksmith with a skill set arguably better than mine. And I'm certain you didn't ask me to come along because I can patch up the roof. Did you really ask me to come along because Talia would need a helping hand? In my experience, a lot of people came to me for magic arms and armament. While I wouldn't say they are rare in my field, they aren't exactly easy to make. It just so happens, that I can in particular, use magic to enchant things much better than others. I'm not going to take offenseif that's the case, but is that why you asked me here?
