Kaiden disappeared behind the bushes. He was unaware of all that was happening back where they were standing. What he was aware of was the deep pit in his stomach and the subsequent growling that reminded him they needed to get food before nightfall or bread and cheese would be dinner. Kaiden didn't mind bread and cheese but if he had the choice for some fresh meat over their night fire he wouldn't hesitate for the protein.

Kaiden cleared the shrubbery with a swift bound and his eyes fell on River. This creature was different, that he noted in the few seconds before he kept moving. With a flick of his wrist Kaiden drove his dagger forward towards River, aiming for the heart. At worst it would hit her below the shoulder and halt her speed just long enough for him to grab her and finish her off swiftly. As much as he was a lover of his protein he was also compassionate and believe in killing swiftly. He found no pleasure in the hunt. OK, well he sort of did because...adrenaline rush...but when he caught his prey he wasted not even a second before killing them.

A smell that pierced his nose, a smell that just didn't seem right, a smell that almost became a feeling inside of his body, caused hesitation to slow him down slightly. What was this creature? He tried to think of dinner but something didn't feel right. Pushing down the uneasiness, Kaiden refocused on his goal...dinner for him and Rook. They deserved it for how far they've come.

Without waiting to see if his dagger had penetrated his prey in the right spot, or even at all, Kaiden lunged forward as if he were superman, arms out stretched towards River to wrap himself around her. If he connected he would tumbled to the ground with her and bring his dagger up against her throat once they rolled to a stop.

@PolybiusMight be a good idea. I love making up as we go along though. But since there are a lot of characters maybe it might help? What do you guys think?
Kaiden narrowed his eyes down at Brock as he responded so cooly. His calm nature was unnerving him. Kaiden was not the type to stay calm or still. He was always active, on the move, and, almost to a fault, rather impulsive. Rook was his ying to his yang, keeping him balanced and mindful of his actions...usually.

As Rook explained Brock's predicament he tried to listen intently but something was making his nose twitch. His attention was brought back to Rook as she explained their location. Rook was the only reason they were on the right path as she was practically a human compass. Kaiden had very poor directional skills. What he did have was enhanced senses. Only to a small degree, nothing super human. But his early childhood days were living with animals (long story) and his underdeveloped speaking skills in those early years were balanced by enhanced sense of sight and smell. His and Rook's abilities paired well together for their ultimate goal and he did not see how a stranger could do anything but disrupt their progress.

In his hands he held a small parchment, a gold emblem stamped on the top corner with half of the words torn and unreadable. What he could read were possible clues from a previous traveler towards their destination. He would need Rook to see if he was on to something.

Kaiden figured they couldn't be too close yet, and allowing Brock to follow along for a short while could not hurt. With a leap and several long bounds, Kaiden raced down the hill towards Rook. A sharp tumble forward, as if he had tripped, and he sent himself tumbling forward, only to pop up to his feet and stuff the torn parchment in to Rook's hands.

But before he could give any explanation to his friend he heard a sound. A sharp -SNAP- of a branch that indicated his senses had once again proven helpful. He had smelled something funny, although he thought it was more of a musty old-person smell mixed with something flowery, but an animal nearby would explain the odd scent.

Kaiden's head snapped towards the sound, toward River, his bright eyes searching for the culprit of the sound. In the next second his instincts took over and, without hesitation or regard for his own safety, he drew two daggers from his sides and began running full sprint towards where he heard the branch snap. "Rook, I've got dinner!!" Kaiden yelled triumphantly, quick wrists ready to throw his dagger towards his prey, their hopefully soon-to-be-meal.

Beau lay on his bed, green eyes staring up at his ceiling through strands of his thick, messy dark hair, silence ringing in his ears. He didn't want to be here.

Being yanked from his friends, his old school, far from his parents and his home was not by any means his choice. And yet it happened, despite the arguments, the yelling, the throwing and threats.

Beau felt like he was being forced to come to this school for more than one reason. His parents were well known in the community for their abilities, political involvement and community outreach. Beau was nothing special. At 17 he had yet to display any special abilities even remotely close tot hat of his [parents. And Beau was completely fine with this. He wasn't one for special attention.

And yet, his parents could not relinquish the idea that he had special powers deep within him. The son of two powerful, prominent beings surely could not just be human. No, Beau needed special training, special attention and special prodding to reveal his true powers. Despite Beau's attempts to make his parents understand it was possible he was powerless, they would not relent. Now, he is living at this school for the remaining two years against his will.

Great.

Beau was allowed to have the day free, to roam the halls or the classes and try to make new friends. He was completely lost and alone here and yet he would be expected to start his new schedule on time first thing tomorrow.

After what felt like hours, but was probably more like minutes, Beau rolled off of the bed, pushing away his sling bag. He grabbed his navy hoodie and slipped the hood over his head and headed out the door, walking slowly down the halls by himself, glancing warily around him.
A voice called out from just over the hill towards the pair talking.

"Rook! I found something!"

A young man in his early twenties could be seen racing up over the hill until he came to an abrupt stop, only to look cautiously at the man standing in front of his friend Rook.

Kaiden had initially had his gloved hand up, his fist balled and holding something inside that gave a slight tint against the shine from what sun they had at the moment. The moment Kaiden saw Rook wasn't alone his lips tightened and his arm swung down behind his back, hiding what he was holding. He leaned to one side, trying to play casual, and held both arms behind his back, rocking slightly on the balls of his feet.

The young man had thick, unkempt black hair that hung over his brown and just past his ears. His eyes were a sharp green, studying the scene below him. He adjusted himself quickly enough, saying "I found dinner..." his clear eyes traveling warily to Brock before going back to meet Rook's.

His heavy breathing and sweaty brow could have been from pumping adrenaline or from his layered attire; he tried to play it cool as he didn't know who Brock was and frankly, didn't trust him immediately.
I'm still here if we want to continue >_> this was indeed my favorite rp

Shay chuckled, gingerly reaching for small branches she could easily hold while maintaining her balance. "I have yet to see what good my degree has done for me yet." She took more sticks handed by Matt, listening to him as he continued. "First time" she responded, disappointment in her voice for not even getting to officially explore the continent. She paused from gathering wood to lean against a tree, looking back to the waters. "Where do you think we are?" she asked curiously and with a cit of concern. The island seemed not to be inhabited and while she was a geography buff she couldn't think of an island known by South America to be so rural yet beautiful. It was just an odd place for them to have crash landed, almost too perfect in the scenery. If they found food and shelter to sustain them until help arrived it didn't seem to be such a bad predicament to be in.

Ben took Maya's hand, feeling her grip tighten already as she anticipated the pain to follow Marcus' actions. He looked to Marcus, his accent thickening in his evident fear. "I hope you know what you're doing man" he said softly, waiting for his move. When Marcus made his move the loud resounding pop made a shudder fall down Ben's spine and he turned his head away with a grimace, Maya's scream of pain echoing across the beach. Ben gritted his teeth together as his hand began to throb with pain from Maya's death grip. As soon as she let go he took his hand back, gingerly holding in his other hand; it would be bruised tomorrow for sure but he was glad to help her and knew her pain was much deeper. Ben nodded to Marcus "I think you'd better rest for now" he said in agreement.

Jack let go of Maya once she was stable and rose to his feet, watching her carefully for a moment to ensure she was stable for the moment. "Nice job" he murmured to Marcus as he began to walk away from the group. "I'll be back" he said offhandedly, making his way towards the forest. Ben watched him begin to walk away then shouted to him "Hey man, where are you going?" but Jack ignored him and continued to walk away. He needed solitude and was frankly curious to go further past the forest line. Staying on the open beach was not the safest place to be in his opinion. The crashed plane would be their visible target and they didn't need to risk themselves to exposure just to keep sight for help. Ben shook his head in frustration as Jack ignored him. "We need to stick together" he mumbled, more to himself.

Shay followed Matt back to the group. Jack walked past them as they came forward. "Hey, where are you going? We have enough wood" he said to him. Jack kept his eyes down, hand resting on his ribcage, and continued to walk forward without acknowledging either Shay or Matt. "Nice guy" she said with a look to Matt and a small shrug. She limped next to him back to the group and set her gathered wood down on the sandy dirt floor. She looked to Maya "Are you ok? Did it hurt? I heard you cry in pain" she said empathetically. Ben pocketed the bitten pencil in his bag, turned his bag to his side and walked up to the wood, looking at the good size pile. He glanced to Marcus "Since you seem to know everything, how do we start a fire?"

In the distance, dark clouds were slowly forming and a colder wind was beginning to slowly blow through.
yes - PM me
Alex leaned over the counter where the line of swivel stools faced the entrance to the kitchen. Her arms propped her torso up, shoulders slightly hunched, blue eyes cast down. She was staring down at her hands folded together on the counter deep in her thoughts. She figured the two men conversing in the booth at the far side of the room were her contacts but was waiting just a bit longer before she revealed herself. She knew, based on the invitation she was given in a phone call she received the day before, she was most likely not the only person who would be arriving and she was keen on seeing who else might arrive before she announced herself. She glanced to the side as the door opened, an older man entering and sitting very close to the entrance from where he arrived. The waitress then took her attention, placing a mug of hot coffee in front of Alex and informing her it came compliments of the men at the far booth. Alex's eyes locked down on her coffee as she realized this was it. Her slender fingers wrapped around the hot mug, taking in the much desired warmth. Tending to run cold she wore layers: tight dark jeans, black Nikes, a black zip up sweatshirt with a thermal and tank underneath. She kept the hood off of her head, her blonde hair messily tousled around, pieces dropping over her brow. As she gazed down at her coffee she exhaled softly. Her next move would determine a path in her life that would either finally get her caught, not one to normally work with groups or anyone besides herself and her contact, or she would be wildly successful and possibly rich. High risk, high reward, she reminded herself. In another moment the old man who entered got up and made his way towards the two other men at the far booth. Her eyes moved shortly from the trio back to the door as it opened up again, revealing another man, this one startlingly tall and large. She resisted from lingering her gaze too long though, keeping him in her peripheral. She turned her head again as he passed her joining the other men, boldly sitting down and joining conversation. Finally, she made her decision, and straightened up, pulling her hands away from the warm mug and leaving it sitting untouched on the counter. Alex turned and began walking towards the men slowly but with her usual confidence, her steel blue eyes trained on Lucas as she neared.

Standing now in front of the four of them Alex placed her hands in the pockets of her sweatshirt and tilted her weight to one side. "Hello" she said in an almost monotone voice. "Alex" she said simply, assuming they would be taking role call if they didn't know her already. An old informant had given her new contact her information so she could be sure they had a profile on her of some sort. If for some reason she had the wrong group, if they turned out to be an odd bunch of buddies looking to buy a drink for a girl, she would simply walk away; she doubted coffee was the new way to get in to a girls pants though.

Her eyes stayed on Lucas, casually glancing to Christian, not even bothering to look to or acknowledge either Tim or Stevens.
