As the cell door slid open, she darted into the hallway, panting.  Being locked in a small room did not mix well with her claustrophobia.  Once she caught her breath and soothed her racing heart, she made her way towards the cafeteria.  Slowly.  Avoiding as much human contact as possible.

She made her way through the cafeteria, hunched over to make herself as small as possible, and quickly piled several fruits, eggs, and various meats on to her plate, before finding a corner to hide in while she ate.  She may not have much of an appetite these days, but she knew that if she didn't eat, it would just get worse.

Picking at a hard boiled egg, she yawned and rubbed an eye.  She didn't get much sleep last night.  Or any night.  Not since she first got here, the hospital filled with tiny cages.

She scanned the cafeteria, now, finding nothing out of the ordinary.  Just the usual.  Doctors observing, nurses bringing in more food, her fellow patients eating, talking, hiding.  Nothing new had happened since that last new guy, a boy with bright blue eyes who couldn't see, had arrived.

"I swear," she mumbled under her breath.  "All this sameness just makes everything worse."

Fair point...  I don't know, then...

Or, we could just not have roommates.  Since no one is responding, that's what I think I'll do.

Well then, the doctors get to torture Celine with Gustav's insanity?

So, there are 10 of us...  Gustav gets Sammy(?), the guy who stares at the wall.  Asher gets Gabe, so Gabe can't have anyone tell him how awesome he is at night.  Flashbang is with Soren so when Flashbang let's out a burst of light, Soren get's blinded.  Luna is with Hannah, so that Hannah's fear inducement exacerbates Luna's fear of the dark.  Iso should be with Kit due to Iso's out-of-control pheromones.  Celine gets put with whomever the doctors decide will have the worst future, due to her clairvoyance - i.e. the doctors are going to torture Patient A over the next few days, so they stick A with Celine as torture for Celine.

At least, that's what I think the doctors would think.  If anyone has any arguments, I don't mind.

EDIT - Dang it...  I had this set up with everyone's colors, and then it didn't work.

@Midnight Howl's starter makes it sound like Luna doesn't have a roommate, so I was confused.  If we don't, or if we might later, I don't particularly care, but I'd like to know one way or another so I can get my post right.

Your fantasy plot looks interesting, and simple ideas like your roomies are always fun (even if they aren't always simple, this looks like it could go a number of different ways).  And I, too, enjoyed TDI.

Name: Katherine King

Nickname: Kit or Kat or both, occasionally KK or Kiki, doesn't really care too much

Age: 16

Looks: Long, bushy natural red hair and bright blue eyes, pale but not unhealthy skin.  Short, 5'2" on a good day, very petite build.  Freckles with sun.

Personality: An interesting combination of incredibly shy, incredibly friendly, incredibly hyper, and rather mischievous that ends up being incredibly adorable.  She can go from hiding from you, to jumping on you, to hiding from you again in the span of about 15 seconds.  She is always looking at everything as if it is something amazing, becoming excited just that there's something to look at.  Once she knows you, she drops the shyness, letting the rest of her character out.  Unfortunately, the medications have dulled her personality to the point of depression.

“Psychiatric” condition: ADHD, Kleptomania, Hoarding, Claustrophobia, Pica, Depression - She actually does display the characteristics of all but the depression in her normal personality, although the doctors make it out to be much worse than it is.  Most of it is a result of her powers.  The Pica is generally just trying to eat raw meat.

Actual 'Gifts': She can turn into a fox!  She can, with practice, switch between human and fox at will.  Her fox senses bleed over into her human form, giving her heightened night vision, hearing, and smell.  She can understand canines very well and other mammals a little - like being fluent in Spanish and knowing how to say 'where is the bathroom' in French.  Being an excitable young animal that enjoys shiny things leads to her ADHD, Kleptomania, Hoarding, Claustrophobia, and Pica.  Slightly wary of larger predators - large dogs, wolves, bears, big cats, etc.

History: She had a happy childhood, conversing with the neighborhood dogs and playing with friends, until, at the age of 15, she was caught shoplifting - 'I wasn't stealing, honest!  I just wanted to look at it later!'  It was realized that she had been doing this for a while, picking up and pocketing small, shiny knick-knacks that she kept in a box in her closet.  Two months, and repeated instances of shoplifting, later, she was found chewing on raw chicken, and began seeing a psychiatrist.  When it didn't stop, she was taken to Mooncrest Island so that she could be treated more consistently.  She has since become increasingly depressed and subdued, leading the doctors to add Depression to her list.

Crush: Isa - the combination of Kit's heightened senses and Isa's connection with animals leads Kit to be more affected by Isa's pheromones.

Other: Enjoys playing simple pranks - whoopee cushions, jumping out and saying 'boo', etc. - but she is easily dis- Oh, look!  Shiny!

Roommate?: Is now Isa in room 301.
