I said think roughly two years a post, but don't hold yourself to it.

Do you know where you mentioned it? I was checking on the first pages of the three forums (rule-posts and such), but couldn't find anything on the matter.
<Snipped quote by Raindeer>

I actually don't understand what you mean by that. The page-based time system would be for our use only, and would be independent from the various calendars devised by each individual race.

<Snipped quote by Veoline>

That may have been a misunderstanding from my side, but my previous points stand.

As for your point about that military technology is not everything...
You are partially right, but I would also argue that you may be wrong.
Yes, it is not everything, but a race falling behind would do so in every aspect, military was just an example.
And military technology is extremely important when there are some people doing raids left and right.

I tend to agree with Veoline that some kind of system would be nice. Maybe it has to do with my planning problems, but I'm not exactly sure how much time should pass with each post. I feel like some kind of unified time-keeping system (out of character, of course), no matter how simple it is, could help. Just my opinion, I'm not an expert roleplayer.

Kaaba

"Kiebal! You must understand, we cannot work during the time of flame. It is simply not safe! Predators could-"

Kiebal interrupted the disgruntled worker, "Are you a Night-Walker, or are you a small mouse?! We are safe working in the trees, even when the holy moon is consumed by fire. Few animals that could be considered a threat could get through the roots and branches guarding us here, and even those couldn't get up this far on the tree. Begone with you! Get back to work!"

The worker gave up and left, leaving Kiebal sitting on a branch that served as her overview of the construction. "Fire take them," she whispered to herself. The six workers Kiebal had gathered to work on this new village were very worried about staying past the rise of the flame. "I understand their concerns," she thought, "but we have a schedule to deal with. Its not like we can just stop whenever we like, there is work to be done, and I, for one, am not going to give in when the danger is minimal. What harm could it do to work a couple hours when the sky is lit by flame?"

Kiebal's thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of a male and a female that she assumed were mates. Kiebal wasn't sure, but it felt like she knew these two from somewhere. She stood up, annoyed at this intrusion, just as she was cooling down from her argument with the worker. She spoke after a sigh, "What is your purpose here, this is a construction area. We aren't a fire-damned spectacle, and I am rather tired of people coming around to watch. I'm short-handed as it is with these people resisting any work that has to do with standing in a perfectly safe place when the fire is in the sky, I don't have anyone to, with all respect, make sure that you don't break anything."

The two looked at each other and the male stepped forward, "Actually, we know that you didn't approach us, but it sounds like you need more workers. We want to help build a village worthy of being the capital of our people."

Kiebal was dumbfounded for a moment, these two actually want to work, and would be willing to work while the flame begins to rise. She stammered for a moment before asking, "I have talked to a number of people that either didn't want to leave their friends and family, or had problems with my management. Why do you want to join us, if you don't mind me asking? What's in it for you?"

They responded by having two small children, likely no more than a couple years old, walk out from behind them, both having distinct, black eyes. The male spoke again, "We work and leave our friends and family so that these two can see the future of our people grow and flourish. We will be the first true family of Kaaba."

She remembered now, they were the parents of the holy twins. The two, Estrella and Lunas, being born as twins is a miracle in itself, but, as they developed, people began to notice their eyes. An average Night-Walker has features that you can barely make out unless you look very closely and has skin black as night, but these two had eyes that seemed to radiate darkness and black. To many, they have been declared "Children of the Moon". This is in Imlona mostly, but some in Khlin have also taken up this belief. This could not only be a great thing, having two more workers, but also a draw for more. "Also," she thought with glee, "I'll be working with the moon-blessed parents of these exceptional children."

She spoke to the parents, "Your help would be much appreciated, and know that you and your children will always have a place in Kaaba."

Haixun was now finishing his training of the new scouts. He would lead them to the City at the End of the World to meet the mysterious creatures that live there (@Shoggothought). He could not wait, it was the beginning of plans set in motion by his father long ago, before even his challenge was given to Trixarch. "These few scouts are high of spirit", Haixun thought, "but it is yet to be seen if they can hold up under the pressure of understanding these new creatures."

Pushing these thoughts aside, he went to his scouts with the final training before they would depart. He had a thought earlier that day, they needed to figure out how to make something to describe places explored. Something called a "map". He figured that the same method used for communication could be somehow transferred to this, but the issue was that this map would need to be long-lasting, something that won't wash away in a week. He found that wood from the Klouskops, handled correctly, could last for a very long period of time. With the construction of the Kaaba going on, it was simple to get a few small squares of wood from Kiebal. Using their arrows as a writing device, they could carve a map of the region from what they already know and what they may find as they progress.

He spoke to his scouts about the maps, and how to use them. Using the Homelands as the reference for scale on their maps, as they all know their home territory like the back of their hand, they will draw landmarks they see along the trail, such as an abnormally large rock or tree, or a change in terrain. After they get back, they would compare maps to create the definitive map that would be used on all future expeditions.

The scouts were impressed by the idea of having a guide in the wood to help them in the future, and took to writing in the map rather quickly. "That is good, that means we might be able to tell where in the moon's name we are going in the future," he thought to himself with a chuckle. After their training ended, Haixun spoke, "You have all been hand-selected to explore outside the Homelands and meet new, intelligent species. You have all agreed to this, knowing that it could be dangerous, and you all have done well in training. I am very proud of you all. Now that this training is finished, it is finally time to go on this first journey. Let us now depart."

Excitedly whispering, the seven scouts joined Haixun and they made their way out of the Homelands, into the land beyond, striving to reach the City at the End of the World.

Even then I have doubts in it going to make things work better for those of us that interact a lot. At least now in the beginning. I would have to write posts the size of a smaller book to get everything I want said/done within that timespan, which is something I extremely rarely have the time for.

I feel like it may also discourage interactions because of that pressure to further your race to not get left behind in the dust like a tribe in the rainforests of earth shooting arrows at planes as they fly by.

I would suggest not insulting the glorious archery corps of the Night-Walker army. You underestimate our jet-shooting capabilities!

The Heart-Tree, First Council of Haixun

Many were gathered near the Heart-Tree, the same place that the grand combat took place, the same place that Haixun took the first leap towards a new future. It had been only several moons since then, but it felt like a thousand to him, as he had spent the time since then struggling to put down doubt that surfaced about his rule and the unity of the two villages. This would be his first chance to finally stand in front of both villages and go on the offensive, establishing his rule in front of the Heart-Tree. Haixun would also begin his attempts at training a scouting team to explore the world outside the Homelands. He had been pondering how they should keep track of where everything is. Haixun figured that the method of communication he had developed could be used to "communicate" the land they found to the others at home, but how was one to make a picture that wouldn't just wash away in but a single night?

That thought would have to wait, Haixun knew. The Council was to begin soon. More and more came to the tree, creating a crowd that rivaled that of the combat. "Let's hope this goes better than that did," he muttered under his breath and stole a glance at the murderer of Bolach. Later, Haixun found out that her name was Snisir. She was Trixarch's mate, adviser, and friend. It was no wonder that she rebelled against Bolach, but punishment had to be dealt out, Haixun thought. We need order to progress. As much as Haixun found it distasteful that one Night-Walker should end another, it has been done, and may happen again.

All of these thoughts came to an end when Haixun glanced up and saw the crowd. It is time, he thought. Haixun stood up on the branch he had been sitting on, and looked around, making sure that there were no predators around. The dangerous ones rarely go out at night and cannot fit through the dense web near this side of the tree, but it can't hurt to be safe. A few minutes later, he was satisfied that there were no predators (and no intruders), so he began. "We are here to discuss the future, as Bolach did before me. But to create a bright future, we must dispel the dark past that shadows over us from the past week." Haixun signaled for the prisoner, Snisir, to be brought forward.

"As I am sure you all remember, at this same place several moons ago, Trixarch and Bolach fought for what vision of the future should hold true. Bolach triumphed, guided by the spirits to strike down Trixarch. But, some could not accept this, and did the unthinkable. No matter your opinion of what happened, the spirits chose Bolach to be victorious, and their judgement cannot be questioned. The unthinkable, to kill another Night-Walker. The unthinkable, to go against the wishes of the moon and tree. Snisir, mate and friend to Trixarch, shot Bolach with an arrow and began a fight that could have fractured our people. You must agree, something like this cannot go unpunished. After thinking for a time on how to deal with this, it has become evident that the only fair way to go about it is to have criminals give back to the tribe what they took. This is fair for all crimes, meat for meat, an eye for an eye, tooth for tooth." The guard took out an arrowhead.

Haixun continued, "And even, in the most dire of circumstances such as this, a life for a life. It is the only fair option, she killed Bolach with no provocation. Let none say that I am a coward though, I will stain my hands with her blood. She has left us no other choice." With that, the guard handed Haixun the arrowhead, as they had practiced many times before in preparation. He took the arrowhead and drove it straight down, killing her almost instantly. It was harder than he thought it would be, but it was done. "May the spirits guide her, let Snisir rest with Trixarch in the stars for all eternity," Haixun spoke. The crowd, disturbed by her death, was surprised by Haixun's sympathy and prayers for the person that killed his father. Seeing this, Haixun felt proud of himself. I is finally starting to win these people over. Imlona will take more work, but they will come around. We have more work to do for the moment though, Haixun thought to himself.

Changing the subject from the execution of Snisir, Haixun had two from the crowd brought forward, a curious female named Kiebal and a nervous male named Zamaxar. He spoke, "Now that those unfortunate events are behind us, let us look forward. I have some announcements to make. Trixarch is dead, we need a new chief to rule over Imlona. I have traveled to Imlona and tried to find the general opinion. That is how I discovered one of Trixarch's other advisers, the fidgeting one here by the name of Zamaxar. I have found him to be very cooperative, he will take an oath of loyalty and be your future chief." Haixun looked at this Walker, he seemed loyal.

"Kneel down and repeat after me," Bolach told Zamaxar. He nodded, took a breath, and went down on one knee. Haixun began, "I swear to the spirits, to the waters of darkness and the burning flame. To the life-giving tree and the moon. I swear to the living and the dead to serve the people of Imlona, to guide them into the future. I swear to give my loyalty to Haixun, to never betray the trust placed in me." Zamaxar repeated the oath as Haixun spoke. "You may now stand before the Heart-Tree as Chief of Imlona. You may rejoin the crowd." Zamaxar stood up and climbed back down into the crowd, receiving encouragement from the villagers of Imlona, though some had a tone of bitterness.

"Onto the next piece of business, Khlin does not rule Imlona, and it should not seem that way. We will build a new village. One fit to be the capital of our new union. Built on the Heart-Tree, the creator of life. It will be known as Kaaba. The one here, Kiebal, will lead the project. She has the most experience building of both villages. She will approach some of you in the near future to offer a position to help in the project, and possibly have a place to live in this new capital. That will be all, Kiebal. You may join the others."

"Onto our last subject, we will soon be conducting an expedition to the 'City at the End of the World' (@Shoggothought) and then we will explore the northern forests and beyond. To do this, we need a team of trained scouts. I will approach five or six of you that show a good level of ability with the opportunity to join the expedition. I will lead this expedition. We have discussed everything that is necessary for the moment. You may return to your homes for the day. The flame will soon be in the sky. May darkness guide you."

And with that, the crowd dispersed. The villagers, stunned by the vast changes announced that night, traveled to their homes in Imlona or Khlin. They were pleasantly surprised to find that the great chief seems to know what he is doing, though Snisir's death troubled many of them. Sapped of his energy by the Council, Haixun spoke softly to himself, "Huh, that actually went well. Maybe this will work after all." He began climbing towards his home in Khlin, ready to finally get some rest.

We're going to transition away from moon-worship quite quickly, as things become clearer about the world.

Expect a fairly large post soon, I've been working on it for a while.

I've been cooking up a religion for some time now. It may be some time before the prophet arrives, but it should really diversify the Night-Walker culture from the "basic tribe" structure that currently acts as my placeholder.
I've updated my character page for the deaths of Bolach and Trixarch. Alongside that, I've added the moons for my reference and anyone who happens to be curious.
@Raindeer
I don't know how to use it...

This is what Shoggothought and I do. Save the picture and download a program called "Paint" off of a credible site (paint.something? I don't know). Then, just open up paint and open up the map. Pick a color, fill it in and there you go!

Found the website. http://www.getpaint.net/index.html
Hello everyone I'm the new nation (Nation sheet will be posted soon) and I hope you like lizards...because I'll be the third reptilian race in this RP, and I hope to meet your civs soon because...I've got a treat for you.

A friendly Wendigo. This can go nothing but well!
@Mihndar Thanks for that.

It is now midnight and I finally finished my post. That turned out a bit longer than I expected it to be.
