Callista leaned back and tapped her foot as she listened to the princess and to her companions' words. Damn. And here I was, hoping it was just one of those artifacts people like boasting about... Hard to tell if Rynn here is just impatient, or if we have a serious issue on our hands.

"I also get that you want to catch this thief before they use... whatever powers the dagger has, but do you think they really know what it can do? You're the ones that have had it so long, and you don't know, so would the thief? Hells, that wasn't even the only thing they took. If other things have been disappearing, that means your thief is almost certainly after valuables, not wicked magics."

She sighed and shook her head.

"If you're set on chasing after them like a hound with a scent, clearly it's your call. But if you want to find and catch the one who did it, then please. Let us gather information, that we might deliver you results."
One more character will put us at 8; I'm not the GM, but I do think there's room for an eighth before capping it for the moment, at least.)

Annette stretched out in the grass and slowly blinked awake, taking in the sky and trees that she could see from the ground.

Ah. I seem to be dreaming... And I probably shouldn't have fallen asleep listening to music from a Disney film. Ugh.
She pulled herself to a seated position, and two things immediately occurred to her. She had been laying on her satchel, and there we're other, unfamiliar people around. She kept a journal of her dreams, and each of those things were unusual. Together? They were unprecedented.
With that realization, she scrambled to her feet, looking at the other teens around her, and her gaze landed on the other two that seemed to be awake and moving.

"Um, hello? Are you... real people?" She immediately looked away, stunned that she had actually asked someone that.
@VitaVitaAR I'm having some trouble keeping up with this RP already... I think I'm going to have to withdraw and let someone else have the Saber slot.

Callista barely noticed the Princess' entry, but managed to pull her attention away from Elra as the woman spoke. She listened to Ernestus' question and added her own thoughts.

"I'm more interested in how they pulled it off. They can't have been obvious enough to seem suspicious to the castle staff, or they'd have been caught, but if we can figure out their methods... That might be the kind of clue we can use. In fact, do you think we could take a look around after this?"
Seven is a truly excellent number for beginnings.
One gets used to it on the phone. That's how I've been doing all my RPs lately.
Here's my woefully belated submission. An artistic soul, never meant to fit into the ordinary world around her. Someone who definitely knows a couple things about the kind of story she's in... At least, that's what she thinks.

Callista remained silent as the king dismissed them, continuing to observe her fellow bounty hunters.

Let's see then... Start with the dragonborn, Vul... Blackscale. Definitely what I picture when someone says "adventurer." And already taking the lead, or trying to. That's one I can depend on to draw attention, for better or worse. The wizard, Ernestus... It'll take me a bit to get a read on him. Can't assume a wizard is anything like what they seem.

As they packed into the room, Callista found herself next to Elra, the next target of her consideration.

Not a bad place to be. This one seems... A bit out of her element. And using her power just to make everyone more comfortable... She's kind. Even though she hasn't been treated kindly, if that collar is what I think it is...

Callista's thoughts were interrupted by Elra's hand clasping hers.

Oh.

She looked up at the elven lady and saw in her eyes just how nervous she was. Reaching out for anyone.

Here goes nothing, then. She gently squeezed the delicate hand in hers and gave Elra a relaxed grin.

"Royalty, eh? Guess they're testing us a bit before we get going on their errand. I wouldn't step out if I were you, they might take it as backing down. Maybe we get to know each other a bit, since we're packed in?"

She glanced at the others, momentarily locking eyes with Arin. Huh. He's sizing me up just like I was him. Canny one, this. "So what made you all want to go after this knife? Besides the reward, of course."
