@Joshie Defend or Engage Enemy?

That would be engage.
We haven't even finished the first comic issue and already there is fodder for fan fiction. >_>;

And yeah, I think I'll wait till at least Thursday before moving things along (I was considering Tuesday but this week in particular may be a bit hectic for some of us).

@Grey and @Hyper Harlequin, if you need more time, now is the time to say something.
Been quiet. Anything needed from me?
NOTE: You guys did nothing wrong, just posting so all of you can see this. This is a response I gave in a PM and after re-reading it, decided that it would be fair if you all saw it.

So, based on a PM, a heads up/reminder on how the game works:

In a tabletop setting, the flow of the gameplay is based on 'doing' things. You don't propose an action, roll for the results, then narrate like a traditional game. This is a narrative based game. Here, you narrate and based on what you do in the narration, you roll to see what happens next.

In short, you don't tell me that you are going to throw your shield at Red Skull, roll the dice, then I determine if the shield hits or misses... You 'post' that you sling your shield at Red Skull, thus meeting the requirement of directly engaging a threat, which you roll. If you roll below a 7, then that doesn't mean that you didn't throw the shield. It doesn't even mean you missed. It just means that I have a right to narrativly turn up the heat on the player who rolled the low number. That 'could' mean you missed. But not always.

When you think about it, you are trying to write your character to be as cool/interesting/dramatic as possible. And my job, even if I sometimes have to drop the hammer on you, is to help you in that goal. If you are stuck in wondering how you can write a post so that you can roll a move, you're missing the point. Instead, post what your character does or is doing, and if you are in doubt if you activated a move after posting, then ask. )

What I'm saying, in general, is that rolling first, then posting is heavily restrictive and you are handcuffing yourself and the game system in general.

Don't worry about thinking of moves and die rolls if it will hold you back. Just narrate. Add to the story at large. This game gives you A LOT of storytelling power (as most have already realized) If you have questions about the setting or if a certain action is possible, etc, ask questions as that will also help flesh out the setting.

EDIT: Also, if you require me to narrate something to help clarrify the narrative situation a bit better, also feel free to ask. For example, if you are waiting to see what is going to happen to Network.

Awww what a shame, no fire ants running around to chew up coincidentally exposed SATCOM wiring or amything equally odd.

I can't preemptively use the Defend move on Network, can I?

Depending on what you do narratively, you might get away with an unleash.

I did link it. I rolled a 6 for the unleash roll, which I linked, but I have +2 Freak so it was an 8. If instead I were rolling Savior then I have a +0 and thus failed the roll.

And she was going to jaws of life open the SUV doors.

What Riley is doing would classify as an unleash.
@Joshie Went ahead and rolled for Assess the Situation. Gonna go with: What here is the most vulnerable to me?

This one would be quite obvious. For now Dragoon is blinded and if she would attack anyone, it would be Network who is currently closest to her. Combine that with the fact that Lux just threw a car at her, and yeah... obvious.

btw, I'm a bit behind, but I'm slowly catching up. Caught a bit of a surprise cold mid Sunday.
Okay, I've rolled for the damage, which is... well, really bad, even with a +1 bonus. Now I have to roll for taking a blow, right?

I'm assuming that you are using 'DIRECTLY ENGAGE A THREAT'

You have to narrate what it was you was doing so that I can ascertain what happens.

Also, don't forget Team Points. It currently stands at one (I'll explain how it's generated when I have more time later), but 5, +1 from acting on the Assess, +1 from team would bump that up to 7. All that is required is for someone to narrate HOW they use teamwork to help Network (which, again, requires you, @Tengri, to narrate how Network DIRECTLY ENGAGE A THREAT.

IC Update posted. :)
Plans are made and soon the battle is joined as the Dragoon-clone leaps into action just as Luxurias envelopes her in darkness, yet it doesn't stop her from swinging her staff at the area you once were, batting aside a car in the process, sending the now twisted scrap of metal, fuel, engine and wheels towards a group of kids who is too busy recording the fight on their cell phones!

Luxurias, you're closest to them, what do you do!?

Network, you witness Dragoons very wide and off target attack and conclude that, for now, she is unable to target you all directly due to a lack of sight. If only Polaris was here! She would've been sure to take advantage. Must piss you off, huh?

Anyway, what do you do now to press on the advantage, Network?

Riley, as Swarm is busy marshalling her forces, you notice something out of the corner of your eye: You notice an SUV. A woman is slumped over the wheel, unconscious. Behind her, two kids are screaming in the backseat. One is trying to shake the woman awake, the other is desperately trying to open the door.

You see what is terrifying them: there is a fuel leak from the vehicle that is ignited by sparks from a lamp post!

No time to waste, Riley, what do you do!?

Swarm, at the moment (outside the problems facing Luxurias, Network and Riley, your slavesminions allies can neither sense, nor detect any incoming danger.

This frees you to help out one of your teammates. Who will you help out?

Alex and Andrea, you now have in your hands the power to make Network's team miserable. You've made your intent known that you will be releasing bugs on them. Demonic bugs at that. How and in what form will they come in? And who do they strike at first?
