You're sweet ;-; She'll be in the tab soon!

In the meantime, I can clarify here since, admittedly, everything about my roleplay characters I create in the moment of writing them.

So the Roost Sisters are an organization like any other, whether magic is practiced or not by its affiliates. The change of leadership initiated a lot of changes Madame Grouse didn't wholly agree with, like ending the "Decedent Protection" oath or program that provided shelter to young orphaned girls in the Sisters' little hideout place. That and Grouse's mentor and a key maternal figure in her life died, and she honestly thinks it was sabotage by new leadership why didn't i put that as a fear, i need to put that as a fear. But the culmination of this paranoia and dissent with the society convinced Madame Grouse to flee Heimshire.

Why she can't use magic is ambiguous, meaning I have no idea, but it can amount to one or a combination of three options: a) it was stolen away from a higher power or an otherwise foreign and onlooking one -- something preternatural with the capability to do so, a magical beast she hasn't seen before, or something more ubiquitous; b) the Sisters are responsible for her magic, or the perception of such, hence why it vanished when she abandoned; c) her magic waned as Grouse suppressed, and continues to suppress, why she practiced it in the first place --to help people -- and when she became selfish in fleeing from her problems.

Umayma can't evince any semblance of occult ability anymore, but she does retain knowledge of magical creatures, charms-making, and on a few other branches of magic, considering she was surrounded by it for the majority of her life. Lucky her memory isn't that bad!

But the adventure prompt is just there's a monster tracking Umayma at the whims of the head Roost Sister because she doesn't want to deal with it when there's so much she still has to do -- the creature's that much of a threat. Umayma was an advanced charms-caster who predominantly applied her powers to warding away magical beasts, and since she's not a member anymore, the head sees her as expendable in a sense. [i](Not that she can actually deal with the monster at the moment because she can't make charms anymore.)[i] The monster itself is ambiguous, meaning I have no idea, but it can honestly be anything anyone wants, from a dragon to a banshee; whatever anyone would want to come face-to-face with.

Okay, finally, I gOT SOMETHIN. I really did put this off, apologies again.

I realized I was just writing an appearance section for Umayma so I italicized the traits I thought stood out the most. (Her actual name's inspired by Moorish folks, since we medieval.)

Let me know if there's more I need to clarify. The idea is for Umayma and the Sisters' comprehension of magic to be ambiguous to an extent.

Space is a void non-conducive to independent thought or philosophy. It is a sea in standstill without the comforts of mundanity, like gravity or sensory pleasures -- caressing winds and salt spray-type feeling removed in place of sight. No sound, no ability to reach out and touch the surrounding twinkle; a sight-seeing tour of the distant and impossible. It is an immersive sort of boredom, then, to travel straight through space. One where the eyes glaze over the sameness and the brain empties -- in non-figments, from lack of oxygen, but for those with optional anatomy, it was only a matter of that sameness. It was an infinite journey, and eventually your identity mouldered and you entered something akin to a dream. And it was all preferred to the lonely, dreaming vagrant, far from home; immersed in it.

It is easy to forget the dangers of nullity when you yourself are feeling none so acute. The space rock hits his shuttle, the force popping it like a balloon, and in a shower of sparkles, the vagrant is carried -- "Hnng-ahh!"-- off his course and in an unintended direction.
Sounds tasty

I should clarify I've been working on a sign-up. Sorry I've been putting it off for a while; still have those questions to get to. But I'll really try to kick it into gear and get it up ASAP before I'm too busy this week.
Punched in the head.

Best of luck; looking forward to the ass-kick :^)
Think I'll wait for things to kick into gear a little before introducing my character!

Heh, Hog's Ass seems like a very positive place.
@Legion-114 How we lookin' IC-wise, by the by?

@MokleyAnd what's your position on magic in this world? Is it something that could be manipulated by humans, or is it more enigmatic, intended to be observed?

kicked to the kirb - xtremersadiq

Name: Kirby (Kābī)
Age: ??
Personality: The irresistibly-sweet, tiny, tough, pink glutton with a penchant for dishing out pain to those deserving. Known galaxy-wide as a defender and a friend, Kirby fights for love in the cutest manner possible. His cheer is constant to the point of being contagious. He has a sort of charming affability about himself that emits innocence, even when his bright blue eyes never give off anything at all. Kirby would never judge anyone! He is earnest, standing courageously against evil, and good, and neutral, really. A child foremost, even Kirby's streaks of impetuosity rarely perturb others, for they stem from that innocuousness, right? In any case, Kirby would never harm someone out of malicious intent.

It may be the most unique aspect of the little warrior of the stars: a complete lack of intent. Kirby fights for others, when others intrigue him, when others disturb him. Otherwise, there would be no gain from fighting. Any deeper analysis of Kirby's character would be arbitrary, ultimately situational with how aloof he is, and how dependent on a second party his actions are. He tends to act cuter when doing so would benefit him. In the same vein, his behavior become more aggressive if thought salutary.

Bio: His origins are unknown, but Kirby is an inhabitant of Dreamland and champion of the picturesque Planet Pop Star. His lifestyle is and consistently has been a humble one considering his role as a "hero" on his home planet. His domestic hobbies appear to be fishing, drawing, and, of course, eating. Otherwise, Kirby became eminent to the UCC with his salient role in containing and obliterating probable inter-dimensional nuisances on a regular basis. Pop Star itself is part of the quickly-shrinking lists of Utopian planets, making it prone to ambush and exploitation from throughout its surrounding galaxy. And yet, after decades of vulnerability, there has only been one defender near-solely responsible for keeping Pop Star safe.

Kirby himself has planet-hopped on more than one occasion. The first involved an invasion of Dark Matter, a parasitic force born from nothing, yet recurring in Kirby's home galaxy. It was, without fail, annihilated each time it accumulated. It was with Matter's discovery that the UCC was drawn to Kirby, at first led to ignore him for his focus on domestic conflict. Dark Matter brought concerns to the galaxy at large, however. Forever aimlessly attracted to the same planet, forever destined to wither under Kirby's long-tight defense; Dark Matter attacks eventually dwindled in consistency, and the UCC had Kirby to thank for preventing a larger crisis. With his access to instantaneous inter-galactic travel, too, he became ideal to their cause. And yet, Kirby had no interest in joining it. Their invitations went unanswered. He seemed more concerned with Dream Land, and himself.

Such was better than alliance with the UoD; if they managed to coerce Kirby, they'd have a major advantage. Thus they've always kept Pop Star in their peripheral.

Skills:
  • (Super) Inhale: The ability to 'suck in' and expunge entities as high-power projectiles.
  • Copy Ability: Swallowed entities may attribute Kirby with special powers. Entities conscious after being inhaled will be discarded while Kirby keeps a "copy" of their powers. Kirby will lose a copy ability if he decides to discard it or if he sustains enough damage.
  • Melee Proficiency: The most a pink puff can have; he has an arsenal of kicks, punches, and guards at his disposal.
  • Warp Star: Can summon a star-shaped transit device to cross amazing distance on air and in space.
  • Infinite Power! I.e. the ability to remove limitations from constructions, essentially customize anything Kirby decides to wield. This also allows Kirby to sync his existing skills with allies so that they too can possess copy abilities.
  • Elasticity means Kirby can squish and stretch, as well as float via inflation, though he doesn't have the endurance to "fly" forever. This also means he can take a lot of hits without lasting effect.

Faction: Unaffiliated; a misunderstanding thrust Kirby into the "dumping ground" that is the Shattered Universe. His primary goal is returning to his world, though some groups might have other ideas.
