From the mists I come, looking for a way to let my words fly free in this realm of imagination.
I have several years' experience with roleplaying in a forum like this, mostly with my Sonic the Hedgehog or Rockman.exe fan characters.
In the real world, I have a Bachelor's degree in writing and I write reports all day at work. What I crave is to stretch my vocabulary and get back into some creative writing.
Anyone want to join me?

Eh. "My world" has lain dormant for ages. Nothing much is happening.
I'm kind of leaning toward a type of rescue/escape from the storm/earthquake/etc thing.

Cool. Since your characters are known to travel between worlds/dimensions, the elements don't need to match up exactly.
So, which plot would you like to try? Something on this list, or another idea?

"Let's be friends" - The groups are antagonistic toward each other, for unknown reasons. Maybe a misunderstanding. (this would work best as a sub-plot)

Well, we've got characters, but now we need to set the scene. We need a conflict to resolve, a path to follow.

I picture the elements having varying strengths/manifestations within families. Example: An Earth elemental family may have members that can only influence the ground, some may have members that can only influence plants. Stronger members can influence both.
The Four Elements
Earth – Earth (includes plants) based magic and manipulation
Fire – Fire based magic and manipulation
Air – Air/wind (includes gasses) based magic and
manipulation
Water– Water (or liquids in all it forms) based magic
and manipulation
Special Elements
Light – Light based magic and manipulation
Dark – Dark/shadow based magic and manipulation
Crystal – Crystal based magic and manipulation
Metal – Metal based magic and manipulation
Spirit – Spiritual powers, also encompassing
shamanism, spirit mediums, and whatnot. It also
coincides with psychic and mystic.
Psychic and Mystic
Psychokinetics – Encompasses all mental powers like
telepathy, telekinesis, etc.
Divination – This encompasses all forms of Divining,
such as necromancy, augury, pyromancy, well all of the
–mancy and what not.
Chi/Ki – Life energy or life force energy, or a person
or even the universe (Most likely that’s not accurate
but that’s all I can get from my current references)

Each family in this world has an elemental affinity, similar to Avatar the Last Airbender, but with a bit more diversity in elements. For example, one of my characters has the Mind element, with psychic leanings. There's also the Sound element, and various forms of Energy... I think. I wonder if I can dig up the full list a friend put together..
It's also possible for characters to obtain secondary elements, but it's a big challenge.
Or, we could always start something new.

I loved the SAO and SAO 2 shows, so this sounds interesting. :)

I love reading/writing sci fi or fantasy. (Honestly though, it's often easier do do fantasy. Less techno-babble to try and make up.)
