But after you get used to the uncomfortable sting, you’ll hear the piano blasting from a room tucked in the back of the small apartment. Or maybe, after you finish climbing over the intoxicated bodies and maneuvering around the maze of empty bottles, you’ll find a young Jed writing stories in a notebook. There, in an apartment that cages his truth and shackles his talent, laid the beginning pages of Jed’s story. Not one that he would write out as fiction, but one that has been written in the stars. He was an only child. No contact with his mother, and only an abusive relationship with his father. Jed has seen many women come in and out of his apartment, he’s seen drugs and alcohol poison every person that stepped inside the front door, and he’s come to recognize the EMT’s coming up the stairs to save someone’s ass. Still, his creativity was gleaming off of him in an uncontrollable desire of pursuit. Amidst the black eyes, the cold showers, and the nights of no sleep, Jed became a hot shot at school. Where he wouldn’t get acknowledgement at home, he would from his peers. In no way did his home life create him to be a bully, but it instead molded an insecure basis for him. He performed in secret and his stories remained unread. With no support from his father, he lived his life independently for as long as he could remember. Once he turned sixteen, he became emancipated and moved in with his high school sweetheart, Claire Johnson. The two were predicted to get married: the hot, creative boy and the sweet and spicy blonde of their small-town high school. But things took a turn when Jed told her of his dreams to move to LA. She saw them as unrealistic and a waste of time. Jed became heartbroken. It took time for him to line up his priorities, and he was honest with her; the love they shared wasn’t above the passions that truly characterized him. Their breakup was brutal, and Jed continues on with a broken heart—longing for the love they shared and hoping, somehow, that things could’ve turned out differently. Truthfully, Jed hopes that his success will have her coming back to him, but her denial of his dreams didn’t make her a right candidate for a lover anymore. He knew that, but he overlooked it. Living in a small apartment in LA, he works as a bartender and writes in his free time. Jed travels to agencies, he tries to get in with publishers, and he is constantly running to music as his stress-reliever. But, as things come to no avail, he’s becoming stagnant in his efforts. Copper-brown hair slicks loosely back above a bronze complexion; hazel eyes glimmer between stacked lashes; and a crease between his brows are making it’s permanence from his continuous smolder. A cigarette is lit. Puffing smoke between his gentle lips and straight teeth helps layer his nonchalance with a bad boy charm. Jed stands with a simple slouch, his broad frame accentuated by his signature leather jacket. Standing tall, he enjoys towering over the many women he effortlessly wins over.

Without much of any flaws to pinpoint on the otherwise male model, Jed was raised on a foundation of insecurities. Since he was young, he’s combated them with his care-free persona. Though puberty did him well, granting him a unique charm that he decides to relish in rather than humble over. Jed has come to perfect his mannerisms in a way that gets him what he wants most of the time. A sly wink and a reveal of his dimple is how he starts, leading to a wildly seductive touch and a tantalizing rasp to his voice.

Jed’s revolves around simplicity. White and black tee’s dominate his dresser, and denim jeans are all he wears. His jackets are all leather or denim. Generally, he wouldn’t be seen in anything but these clothing choices, but occasionally you can catch him in a sweatshirt and gym shorts if he decides to work out.

Initially, Jed joined the coven in hopes to better his knowledge with the supernatural, but as he’s spent more time within the coven, he’s seen a flicker of a foreseeable future that has something he desires: a home. While the coven could sometimes be considered his home, he tries not to hold out for such an idea to save himself from being let down.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Everyone has ulterior motives. Happiness is a greedy thing. People use each other for their own benefit. Don’t get lost in trust or you’ll end up broken.

Jed was born from instability and into abuse. It wasn’t uncommon for Jed to show up to school with a black eye or bruises marking his body. His father was many things: a man-whore, an asshole, a manipulator, and an adept. For Jed, he’s grown up on many things that the average child didn’t. He was taught of substance abuse at a young age, but knew not to delve into it after seeing the results of it on his father. He was introduced to a new woman almost every week, each reeking of alcohol with smudging makeup and tousled hair. What angered him the most is how often they turned a blind eye to the beatings he’d get and the verbal abuse he’d become crushed from. This is the root of Jed’s mystery, the very first layer of his personality that soon stacked high enough to touch the clouds.

Jed missed school a lot, but turned to his kindling-event to further learn from. As his father used his abilities for crime and for self-pleasure, Jed learned from a special ancestor in his dreams. Jed’s dream sparked with the anticipation of a fight with his father, ending with bruises and cuts on his body and a cold shower to wash them off. His grandmother came to him in his dreams, and she taught him so much. Her one wish she urged the most was her desire for him to steer away from the footsteps of his father. But your parents have a way of bleeding their negative qualities onto you.

Jed couldn’t take the grunge of the torn wallpapers and the stained carpets. He couldn’t take the empty liquor bottles that scattered throughout the dimly-lit apartment. He couldn’t take the unexpected beatings and the cold showers he’d shiver from for hours. One last night of no sleep, and he was out the door without a word in the morning. His grandmother’s wish only held him together for so long until he’d succumb to his father’s ways.

He practiced his powers hard, turning to them as his saving grace in a time where he was alone. A watch with a broken, shattered clock became his channeler: a small treasure he bought himself, but broken from what was always anticipated. Jed used his abilities to steal money, to finesse his way into areas he normally wouldn’t be allowed in, and that’s what he did until he got a car and his own place.

Jed then became clad in his own achieved behaviors, though they were intertwined by his dark past. He’s lost a lot of compassion and a lot of empathy through living the life he’s lived, but times are coming to a plateau. What rise he had from his self-discovery and his moment of independence is beginning to fade and he’s searching for the next step. He gave up the stealing and the abuse of his powers to try to live a normal life. He works as a bartender at a club and delves in his hobbies in the meantime. Life was becoming bleak. Strange.

Jed finally came across the coven, in hopes that this would be the appropriate next step for him. But with only his own instincts to rely on, he’s very unsure about his participation. Still, he strangely looks forward to the connections he’s building, however slow and faint they’re establishing. To them, he’s a mystery, but he’s unsure if he wants to be solved.

[Racing] ⫻ One of Jed’s many hobbies that he’s turned into a talent of his. Jed is great at operating most vehicles and understanding the limits of their speed and acceleration. From extensive participation in drag racing, he’s come to know the in’s and out’s of what special tricks you can do with a car. Put him behind the wheel and you’ll get where you need to go faster than you could ever get there; just bring some anti-nausea medicine.

Artemis was trained by a famed bounty hunter, adopting many of the techniques that he was skilled at himself. Through years of training, she was able to learn the basics of some skills, while discovering she was more talented in others.

//SKILLS Gunslinger: Artemis is skilled with guns. Handguns are what she prefers when she's in medium to close-quarter combat. Artemis' ability to snipe is proven to be exceptional as well. Acrobat: Although Artemis doesn't have as much expertise in hand to hand combat, she's fast and flexible. Her movements, graceful and swift, are hard to predict and difficult to read. Tactics: Artemis' leadership does not go unnoticed by her organization, however small it is in comparison to the many others. Her tactics is what keeps them thriving, as well as their ability to follow orders. Piloting: Although this skill is exercised very rarely, she does have some knowledge regarding piloting and aircrafts.

//POWERS [+] In the blast, Artemis was infused with cosmic energy, granting her the ability to shape, mold, and manipulate cosmic energy that radiates from her body. Her powers recharge just as fast as her normal human energy would, and continued practice and usage will increase the threshold of which she draws from. In addition, Artemis is able to utilize her energy to give her enhanced strength or immediate protection. Limitations: Artemis' source of energy has been replaced with cosmic energy. Everything she does draws from this source. Thus, if she overexerts herself from ability usage, she will result in major fatigue and exhaustion. Her cosmic energy naturally replenishes over time. Minerva Evans - Minerva is Artemis' right-hand woman. She is strong, fierce, and obedient. Minerva is a mutual friend of Finn and Artemis, and they've known each other for quite some time. In another world, they'd be what's considered as best friends. Artemis is incredibly grateful to have her to trust and rely on.

Olien Parks - Artemis' tech guy. Without Olien, she wouldn't have access to her gadgets and she wouldn't have intel on the missions that she chooses to accept or pursue. While he's a guy with a burning crave for more and more knowledge, she admires his dedication and appreciates his assistance to the Night Walkers.
