I have a desire for a smaller, more intimate tale of two survivors scrapping by in a hellish destroyed fantasy world. It isn't really a power fantasy type of tale. More of a "...hope against hope that we don't starve, freeze, get eaten, or instantly incinerated in the next hour..." kind of experience. And I'd like to know if anyone is interested and if they have any interesting ideas.

Expectations?
1. No overpowered gods for characters or whatever. A skilled or otherwise magically gifted character is fine but a big part of this tale is having our characters be small compared to everything they are facing.
2. Your might be thinking, "18+ tag huh, so are characters gon-" MAYBE. This isn't a romance tale. Any sort of romance depends on what kind of chemistry our characters have, the focus is on existential drea- just dread. Lots and lots of dread. The 18+ is more for general mature content. Believe me: this is going to get
dark.
3. So how inconceivably fucked is the world our characters must endure? Like miasmic fire flooding the sky, conjured alchemical abominations roaming the lands, the dead unrest kind of thing. TLDR: This world is hell.
4. You need a semi-decent vocabulary, I can get very verbose with my wording and when writing profusely... just trust me, a cacophony of words like that is not a good time without a robust vocabulary.
5. I know, I know, I'm very fun at parties. The atmosphere is rather grim, doesn't mean we can't have optimistic characters. Hell, you need optimism like that to survive that kind of rigor.

Is There a Story?
Yeah, but it's largely by the seat of my pants at the moment. Basically a world of more or less generic Tolkien-esc fantasy races nuked the world with all kinds of magic. Think M.A.D but with meteors, hell portals, and mountain-sized golems. Like the real world, the huge differences between the various species (even more of a divide than peoples} resulted in an ever accelerating arms race that resulted in the final result. The various nations would have been dogmatic, semi-dystopian, and in a constant state of total war. Even before the world was ruined things were pretty grim. I anticipate that our characters will be from civilizations that hate each other, so specism (racism? themes of racism) will be a part of the story.
