I've grown bored and discontent with the site and not wanting to spend more time on something where I am no longer having any fun: I have decided to cease logging in.

Farewell! May your days be full of mirth and substance.

Indeed, all topics are fair game. On the topic of roleplays people haven't tried/seen, that is. I'd be curious then, what were the premises of these roleplays? Und thout shalt not DARE sayest "Academia" (only teasing of course).
A few threads in the air... so I only ask: what are some roleplay premises people have in their heads but have not seen/tried?
Hmmmmm... so if I post here does it go further up in the que?

The Town of Baulderwood

Up in the hills of California, right on the outskirts of those forested ridges on the edge of a lake is a little mediocre town called Baulderwood. Ever entrenched in mist. It's a frequent enough pit stop for folks on their way through for the gold rush. Though I should rightly warn that most folks who pass through where the whole areas bad news, but its still barely kicking. Ah, a few years back the mine was pulling in a good deal of copper, but that mostly dried up and now-a-days folks are after gold, not copper. All that remains of the ol' mine is the entrance, and the extensive tunnels it connects to. Well, and there is some hear-say about things in the mine. The souls of dead miners, the devil, so-on. Come to think of it, back in those days the Braojo tribe was a bit more interested in trade, til' one day they all just up and disappeared. Nothin' but those bone totems of theirs that you can still find here and there in the woods.

That's enough about what was, better to tell about what is. Towns got a saloon, a barber, a undertaker, a sheriff and a few general goods shops. Most of it is abandoned miner's barracks and the ol' church burned down. Still local population's around sixty, plus what ever rabble travels though. Mayor's a real shutter bug, doesn't like to be seen I suppose. People some times call the misty woods in those hills the Whispering Hills, reason being in the fog, sure enough supposedly, you can hear whispers. Superstition, sure, after all who's whispering? Souls of the dead? The Braojo tribe? Eh, bunch a fools. None the less, if your passin' through you should be careful, more than ghost and goblins to worry about out west. Good luck to you partner...
@scrawls

Definitely throwing the idea out there, but depending on how much interest it has I'll probably do a casual RP. Then if it really sparks or I have some interesting ideas in the setting I want to explore: I'd probably GM a more serious RP for 3-6 people.
This World is Ruined...

I have a desire for a smaller, more intimate tale of two survivors scrapping by in a hellish destroyed fantasy world. It isn't really a power fantasy type of tale. More of a "...hope against hope that we don't starve, freeze, get eaten, or instantly incinerated in the next hour..." kind of experience. And I'd like to know if anyone is interested and if they have any interesting ideas.

Expectations?

1. No overpowered gods for characters or whatever. A skilled or otherwise magically gifted character is fine but a big part of this tale is having our characters be small compared to everything they are facing.

2. Your might be thinking, "18+ tag huh, so are characters gon-" MAYBE. This isn't a romance tale. Any sort of romance depends on what kind of chemistry our characters have, the focus is on existential drea- just dread. Lots and lots of dread. The 18+ is more for general mature content. Believe me: this is going to get dark.

3. So how inconceivably fucked is the world our characters must endure? Like miasmic fire flooding the sky, conjured alchemical abominations roaming the lands, the dead unrest kind of thing. TLDR: This world is hell.

4. You need a semi-decent vocabulary, I can get very verbose with my wording and when writing profusely... just trust me, a cacophony of words like that is not a good time without a robust vocabulary.

5. I know, I know, I'm very fun at parties. The atmosphere is rather grim, doesn't mean we can't have optimistic characters. Hell, you need optimism like that to survive that kind of rigor.

Is There a Story?

Yeah, but it's largely by the seat of my pants at the moment. Basically a world of more or less generic Tolkien-esc fantasy races nuked the world with all kinds of magic. Think M.A.D but with meteors, hell portals, and mountain-sized golems. Like the real world, the huge differences between the various species (even more of a divide than peoples} resulted in an ever accelerating arms race that resulted in the final result. The various nations would have been dogmatic, semi-dystopian, and in a constant state of total war. Even before the world was ruined things were pretty grim. I anticipate that our characters will be from civilizations that hate each other, so specism (racism? themes of racism) will be a part of the story.
I LOVED Elden Rings' story, a bit more hopeful than what FirmSoft usually does, even if the gameplay was a little meh. I would like to join this RP. If it is still going forward and the roster is not full?

Sir Montique

The small horde of intoxicated day drinkers stumble in through the door, giggling, yelling, and otherwise acting the drunkard. The group of about twelve was predominately human. Though it consisted of laborers, rich folk, and the impoverished alike. What the hearty crew of the tavern may not have been prepared for was the individual at the back of the group. Now illuminated and in plain view was a humanoid skeleton of average height, dressed in fine though weathered purple noble garb of yesteryear, trimmed with tarnished gold. A sword on hip and a gilded goblet in his hand he addressed the tavern without ever opening his jaw, " HAIL! I AM THE GREAT SIR MONTIQUE! I AND MY COMPANIONS HAVE COME TO THY FAIR ESTABLISHMENT ON NOBLE QUEST!"

With his empty left hand he reaches down his own chest cavity though his garbs collar. The sound of metal shills colliding, glass smashing, and a hiss are heard before he pulls out a handful of shimmery golden coin, a ring with a large ruby still on a desiccated finger, and some kind of ancient glassy idol and then he drops them on the bar counter where the tallest worker he can find is standing behind. "Now then... SERVE US ONE OF EVERYTHING AND KEEP IT COMING!"

Twas dusk, the loud inebriated laughter of a small group of men an women could be heard outside the tavern. The slurred merry shout-laughs of a man roared over the laughing group, "Yvoo, Yvoo knwoo, yoovvvvr youvr alriiigh! Bu yoov-bu yoov shhhhool'n goo derrr. Miiiigh, miiiigh misssake yoooov. Liiie- lie... me." Sobbing could be heard, but a deep, roaring, boisterous voice reassures the man, "But I MUST. FOR IT TIS MINE QUEST FOR MINE OWN KITH AND KIN! REST UP MY MERRY COMPANIONS! MAY YOU DREAM OF LARGE CHESTED MILK MAIDS! BUT SIR MONTIQUE MUST CONTINUE HIS VALIANT QUEST!" and with that the door slams open with a thud.
