Bio

Hello there,

I've been forum RPing for about 13 years; got started on lavendereyes.net, which was a Forgotten Realms/Drizzt Do'Urden fansite, before moving to the old roleplayerguild.com! I've also dabbled in RPing in a few MMO's like Champions Online, SWTOR, and WoW but forum adventures are definitely my preference. I like just about any kind of RP in high-casual and advanced, based on whatever mood I'm feeling (typically high-fantasy, sci-fi, and/or certain fandoms). I love writing and do think of RPing as a way to develop my character and scene writing skills, which basically means I'm always looking for realistic and fluid ways for my characters to learn, grow, and develop over the course of an adventure. I don't ship my characters but do occasionally allow them to fall into a relationship, if they are naturally guided in that direction.

You can take a look at some of my saved characters here, if it interests you.

I also have a deviantart page, though I hardly ever update it.

Thanks for reading! I'm always up for a good chat.

@LupusIntus She's great! I feel like her and Amber will get along well haha. The only really really minor problem I have is that the image links for the flail and rocket launcher are broken, but even with that she is definitely accepted. Send her on over to the character tab!

Thanks! Those links are pretty old so they must have died. I'll update them and post the whole thing over in the Character tab! :)
Here's my submission, if you're still accepting. :)
Let me know if you'd like any more description on the weapon.

EDIT: oh, and to clarify - her weapon's explosive power is closer to that of a small grenade, rather than a true 'rpg'. The full length of the extended chain is about 20ft.

Oh hum. I'm still here, just a bit aloof as I'm currently traveling internationally (and will be for the next 3 weeks) so posting really depends on if the hostels I'm staying in have internet (most usually do). Geist will likely just be wandering about, doing his own thing until we timeskip to a boss battle or other event.
Geist

As the last of the plant monsters was finished off, Geist sheathed the his blade with a dark look on his face that revealed he had far more to say to Linc but was actively choosing to hold his tongue; the monsters had been a good reminder that a few extra bodies were still useful until they made it to town. His look didn't change when a tiny congratulatory window appeared saying he had reached level 3 and displayed his small health bonus and extra skill points which he immediately distributed into agility without much thought. With that business finished he followed behind Dar as the trio walked onward towards Horunka in awkward silence.

There were no further disturbances that evening and before long they found themselves walking down the lantern-lit streets of the small lakeside village. Geist stopped before a small inn, merry music pouring from the open door, and glanced back at the others with neutral look. "Thanks for the assistance... I'm staying here for the night." He didn't wait for a response, they all looked a bit too exhausted to worry about pleasantries, and Geist left the other two to get a single room. The rent drained the last of his Col. but he still had few boar and wolf pelts he could sell in the morning if he could find a shop. When his back finally pushed closed the door of room he let out a long sigh and slid down to the ground. A faint light was streaming in through the window, illuminating the simple furniture and bare walls, but Geist hardly saw anything as his brain tried to process what exactly was happening to him. He'd fought against the panic and confusion that had come earlier when the full realization of their predicament was revealed but now that he sat alone in the darkness of his small room the feelings came trickling back.

Geist had no idea how long he sat there on the floor but the next morning he awoke in the bed to the sound of bird calls fluttering about outside his window.

He got dressed quickly and slid out of the room, completely ignoring the hearty 'Good morning!' of the innkeeper and moving straight out into the street. His dark eyes scanned the area as he walked slowly along the small storefronts, looking for a place he might find a new blade.
Sorry all, had a hella busy weekend here! Will try and get a post up today or tomorrow morning. :)
Sorry all, busy weekend here! Should hopefully have a post up today or tomorrow morning.
Geist

Geist stopped dead in his tracks when Linc spoke and asked one of the most idiotic questions he had ever heard. He leveled a dark gaze at the other man, all traces of warmth draining from his features and leaving his sharp, handsome face looking more like a porcelain mask with two dark orbs for eyes. "Don't pretend like you know a thing about me." He spat, his voice dripping with venom. Though there was a certain wisdom in Dar's words, Geist ignored them as the sound of his own pounding heart filled his ears. "Here's a personal question for you: were you always such an idiot?"

Suddenly, a long leaf-tipped vine whipped out from the darkness beside them and struck Geist across the chest. The blonde haired man grunted in surprise as the force of the blow knocked him back a step, though he managed to keep his balance and not topple over. The large plantlike creature lurched into view, the torchlight reflecting off it's bulbous spotted white body topped with a pair of tiny green leaves. <<Little Nepent>> were the words displayed above the creature's dark red crystal as it's large slathering mouth gnashed menacingly and Geist cursed aloud as a another one of the creatures slinked into view on the path in front of them. He dodged quickly to the side and narrowly avoided a second vine as he drew his dagger and pulled the weapon back the his chest. Feeling the skill activate, Geist shot forward and struck the creature with [Armor Piercer] which, while not very damaging, would lower the monster's armor for the next few seconds.

Geist

Geist halted as the forest rose up and loomed before them, his eyes trying to pierce the darkness beneath the branches and failing. He followed Dar's example and pulled up his inventory screen, clicking [Torch] and equipping it. The young man was only slightly started as the already-lit tool materialized into his left hand, which had been near his face at the time, but after a moment he realized that it gave off much less heat than he'd expected.

... Looking up at the trees, Linc found it being the right time, "Guys, when we make it to the next town," Linc began reluctantly saying, "I will leave. I am not a good player. I don't want to hold you guys back. You guys are by far superior to me. I'll be a burden."...
@Grayscythe@LupusIntus

Geist almost retorted with a snide comment about Linc's 'whining' but thought better of it and bit his tongue; he still needed them both for a little while longer. "We'll discuss it when we arrive..." He said instead, holding the torch before him as he walked slowly into the forest following Dar. "No sense in worrying about that... we could all be killed before we even get there." His voice was calm as he said it, the 'joke' being in his matter-of-fact tone and dismissive shrug. Geist didn't have time to worry about Linc's apparent inferiority complex and would much rather the three of them traveled in complete silence.

Actually I've thought about suggesting this idea too, but I think it has it's whole set of disadvantages. With things like these, either way you go, you're gonna make things worst for someone, specially those few who choose to play it solo. The only point in enforcing a common time for all characters would be if there was some sort of event like a raid call or large player reunion where all PC PCs where required to participate. Other than that, the most sensible way, would be to let people do as they please (within a reasonable margin, of course) and require everyone to state their current day/time at the top of their IC posts, 'cause even an hour between two player can screw things royally if that's whar you're worried about and not everyone will follow in the same pace. It's a very common literary device and in games with this much players acting on their own, it's the most sensible way to deal with the time issue.

Maybe that would work in an RP with fewer people but 25-30 players doing what your describing could potentially lead to 10+ alternate timelines in the same RP as each group is moving at a wildly different pace due to player speed/schedule, ect. There is no way you could let this many people police it themsleves and not expect things to get very confusing very quickly.
