Holy shit knighthawk; I was going to get a tattoo on my shoulder blade almost the same as David's, although with the King James translation. For the sarcasm as well!
"Thank you!" Alexis shouted, waving madly at the cabbie as he drove away. He adjusted his kit bag on his lap and spun his chair around to get a view of the school. 'Jesus, this place is huge!' He thought, pushing himself forward and onto the campus. He smiled at the kids as he rolled passed them, noting that a good portion of the students were just barely half his age. He chuckled, rolling haphazardly around and through groups of students. There were quite a few close calls as he made his way towards the dorm building, as per the instructions he received. Unfortunately, with the package describing what to do once he got here as well as the plane ticket, first class woohoo, was a certain watch that had proved to be nothing but annoying. Probably millions of dollars spent making a super advanced AI, and they couldn't make the damn thing actually helpful? Hell, Alexis didn't see why everyone needed one; it'd be easier to just-

"I hate to be a bother, but we've almost arrived at our destination."

"SHIT!" Alexis shouted, skidding to a stop just a few feet shy of slamming into another group of students.

"Alright, I guess you're not entirely useless."

"I aim to plea-."

"Shhhhhh. That's enough. Sorry about that guys." Alexis greets the group he almost hit, then wheels around to a wall with a large holographic display. He whistles, waving his wrist across the wall. His schedule and various other helpful information begins downloading to his watch as he looks around at the other students, still finding himself to be the oldest among them by at least a decade. 'Well, might as well start getting social.' He thinks, wheeling back through the crowd and looking for someone interesting. It doesn't take him long; as he rolls by a woman seemingly having trouble with her smart watch, she poses a question to nobody specific. He stops, turning towards the woman.

"I might be able to help. I can't stand the things, but I've messed with mine enough to get a pretty good idea of how they work." Alexis offers a hand towards her smart watch with a smile. "Although to be honest I was really just trying to get it to shut up."
Oh yeah, shit's gonna get fucked up.
Oh cool, this started! I'll hop to posting.
At the large man's greeting, James grunted. Personally, he didn't see the allure of getting to know the people one works with. He reasoned that being 'friends' didn't make the work any easier. James used another technique in his arsenal of avoiding talking to people; he popped a cigarette in his mouth and, using his last match, lit it. He took a step back from the group so the smoke wouldn't bother anyone; while he had no intention of getting to know these people, he didn't want to be rude.
Anyone ever smoked in a dark room with a strobe light? It's one of the coolest things you'll ever see.
By the time the Governor said 5 minutes, James was running. He dove into the crowd of people that had yet to disperse and moved nimbly through them as quickly as he could. It only took him half a minute of flat-out sprinting to arrive at the apartment. James burst through the door and hurried to Sam's room, where his crowbar rested. When he entered he was surprised to see Sam out cold. 'That'll make this easier.' He thought, grabbing his weapon of choice. He picked up his gas mask, a relic from what happened to him years earlier. He stroked the mask almost lovingly; it had seen almost as many miles as James had, and it still worked just fine. James slid the gas mask into a pocket on his coat. 'That's everything, I guess.' Without a word and quiet as a ghost, James left the apartment. He knew that if Sam was awake, he might not have the strength to leave. He stopped at the neighbor's door across the hall, quickly scrawling out a note asking them to check on Sam. They wouldn't see it until well after he was in the Maze; no way for them to say no that way.

With his business settled, James sprinted back passed the Governor's Office, slowing to a stop in front of the heavy metal doors separating the community and the Maze. He joined the group of people that had gathered there, looking them over. He knew some of them, but he couldn't think of any names to match their faces. He did recognize the man with dreadlocks and the woman; the man was a scavenger, and James might have worked with him once or twice. The woman was a medic; one of Sam's teammates, probably. The others were variably familiar to James, but nothing significant.
Hagana couldn't help but quirk his head after the grunt spoke. 'Brave speech from a small one.' He thought, quickly returning his head to the proper angle. Hagana's splitting from his bond brother had not happened long ago, but the shared intelligence he had received after the splitting was enough to tell him that it was unusual for the small ones to speak out like this one had. Or speak anything coherent at all. Hagana did not have much respect for the small ones, but this one, he felt, deserved some. He thought back to the fast one falling from the ceiling. It brought warm feelings to him seeing the fast one land like that, although it was somewhat dampened by what he felt from Igora. Igora did not like this fast one; that much was obvious, although Hagana couldn't glean a reason from Igora.

Hagana sighed internally. 'Feelings are weird.'
